Wildflower Hair and Makeup

Wildflower Hair & Makeup handled the beauty services for my niece's wedding this last weekend and the team is amazing!! Everyone was beautiful!! From my personal experience (an aunt of the bride), I rarely wear a lot of makeup and honestly, I don't mess with my hair much because it is so fine and breaks so easy now (old age does that sometimes!). But I was in great hands with Stephanie (makeup) and Izzy (hair). Izzy was incredibly patient with my "I have no idea how I want my hair to look, do your best, but please be super careful as my hair is so difficult to work with" -- through her magic wand (okay, maybe it was a curling iron), I felt at ease and comfortable and not worried that my hair was just going to keep breaking off. The end result was a beautiful style that helped lift my face and yet left gentle curls around my shoulders. Then I hopped from Izzy's chair to Stephanie's... a few deft swooshes and dabs of Stephanie's makeup brushes, I swear I lost about 15 years off my age!! My face was bright and light, and most importantly, the makeup felt very natural and was not cakey at all. My hair and makeup stayed perfect all night (I did touch up my lipstick, and Stephanie was sure to match the one I had in my purse). I defintely felt beautiful and according to everyone, I looked it too! :) One lady who had services done is extremely picky about her hair and makeup. I have known her for years and she ALWAYS touches up whenever her hair and makeup is done -- absolutely every time, she will pull out a hand mirror, head to the ladies and tweak whatever has been done. This time, she actually did not do that! If that is not a testament to Wildflower, nothing is! Karen's team was careful to listen to what look everyone was going for, and made great suggestions for those like me who had no idea what to do. Sitting in the chair, listening to the beauty girls and watching them do the hair and make up of the wedding party... was so much fun. They were adorable, fun and one can tell they enjoy working together -- they are exceptionally professional as well. No wasted time at all, but took great care to ensure everyone looked amazing. Karen and her team are professional, friendly and sweet. They know know what they are doing, and have fun doing it -- you can tell they truly want to do whatever they can to help the bride have a perfect day. You can be assured that your wedding party is in the best hands Wildflower Hair and Makeup!

Karen and Mia were an absolute dream to work with they made me and all my girls feel like absolute princesses they were quick and very professional and everything was perfect I'm so glad I went with them for all my wedding day needs and I will definitely use them again for any other makeup and hair things ❤️ 10/10 highly recommend

Karen BY FAR is the best out there. She made myself & my bridesmaids so comfortable during Hair & Makeup. One thing I loved was she stuck with what you wanted and did not go overboard. She was willing to do anything to make you happy with your look. 10000000/10 RECOMMEND!!!!

I was very nervous with my makeup I don’t normally wear a lot and in other weddings I never liked how cakey my makeup looked. It wasnt me. Allyssa made me feel very heard and validated on my ideal look and even got faux freckles! She didn’t put too much foundation on and I felt like myself! The hair was beautiful and i I really did look like a fairy! (which was the goal!) I felt like me and it was a lovely experience

I can’t say enough good things about Allyssa! She helped with hair for my mom and two bridesmaids as well as hair and makeup for me! Karen is an absolute genius! Her positive and cheerful disposition was evident from day one! My bridesmaids couldn’t stop talking about how much they loved their makeup, and my bridal hair and makeup on wedding day was literally everything I imagined and more. Not one touch up (for both hair and makeup) was needed the entire night. It was absolute perfection. We all received so many compliments and felt like the makeup complimented our natural selves, yet still glammed up to perfection! True artistry on this team!

I had a really terrible experience with the first vendor I chose. We are from Texas and got married in MS. We were unfamiliar with vendors, and did not see wildflower on the vendor list here. After the trial with our original vendor, our photographer and another friend that had just had them at her wedding recommended and we are so so glad they did. I can not stress how absolutely WONDERFUL this company is. From start to finish I absolutely loved working with them, and the hair and make up were everything I could have wanted and more. I didn’t get to do a trial with them and changed my mind a million times, but every person that got services that day was OBSESSED with everything. If you want to look flawless on your wedding and have all the best vibes and energy, choose them!!!!!

So happy I hired Wildflower's artists for our wedding day. Karen is so nice and great to work with. Very talented team. Professional and punctual and genuinely kind people. They helped keep me calm. I felt really beautiful and my hair and makeup looks perfect in all of my pictures. I cried and got sweaty and my makeup never smudged. Highly recommend.

There are so many wonderful things I can say about Karen! She just moved to Kansas from Louisiana and boy am I lucky she did. She was more than reliable. Great about keeping time but never rushing. Her assistants are super talented and wonderful to work with as well. She was funny, interactive, beyond professional. Joanna was AMAZING. I did a hair trial with her a few weeks before the wedding and then wanted to make changes, and she was very receptive to that-- I was willing to pay for another trial and she told me it wasn't necessary, that we would be able to make changes without my having to book more time. On the morning of, I had a total change of heart and opted for a simple bridal pony instead of the elaborate chignon we had planned, and she rolled with it-- my hair looked beautiful! She was a source of calm and warmth on wedding morning, chatted and laughed with us and really just brought a sense of ease and competence to what could have been a really hectic time. I would absolutely recommend Wildflower to any bride-- they are versatile, easygoing, talented stylists and they made the process fun.

Karen and her team made my mom, bridesmaids, and myself feel so beautiful! I never imagined my thin hair could look this good in an updo! Do not hesitate to hire this team. Alyssa was incredible. She did my hair and makeup as well as my 2 bridesmaids' hair and makeup with time to spare on my wedding day. I did a makeup trial with her prior to the wedding and let her know what I wanted tweaked for my wedding day. She absolutely nailed my bridal look. I looked exactly like myself, which is what I wanted. I will never go to anyone but Alyssa in the future, and I recommend her to everyone!

HIGHLY recommend Wildflower! Karen (hair) and Em (makeup) did a spectacular job for my Baton Rouge, LA wedding!!! I went for a glam makeup look with Hollywood waves for hair. The trial run was very helpful, as I ended up changing my hair from an updo (trial) to down with the Hollywood waves (wedding). The team at Wildflower was super easy and fun to talk to. They were super personable and genuinely cared about me and the bridesmaids. A friend of mine got married a few months before me and used Glam on Location from New Orleans. They did a good job too, but everyone agreed that Wildflower was MUCH more personable and friendly :) and Lyssa helped out on my wedding day as well with the bridesmaids, and we love her too. Some things that were said the morning of our wedding: “This is the most beautiful I’ve felt my whole pregnancy! Can I hug you?” “I trust you with my life.” And, as our artists were leaving: “Bye! Love you!” Booking Wildflower Hair and Makeup was one of the best decisions we could have made for our wedding day. Karen, Joanna, Caitlin, and Alyssa made our morning carefree and full of laughter. Not only do they do beautiful work, they have an awesome vibe and felt like old friends. Every single one of us looked beautiful in our own unique way, all day long!

I found Karen and the Wildflower team after a not great experience with another hair and makeup artist and I'm so thankful I did. The boho and lightweight look their brides had was exactly what I wanted. Not only did Karen take all of my questions and concerns, but she went above and beyond to help put me at ease after a rough experience at first. I requested Karen specifically for hair because of her experience with curly hair and Alyssa was our make up artist. I was able to find inspiration photos from their instagram and website which was nice to be able to use as they've done it before. From my separate trials for makeup and then for hair, I clicked with both Alyssa and Karen and felt so at ease and comfortable. Both listened to what I wanted and the variations of what I showed them and were able to make it happen- even after I changed my mind regarding my hair (always think about what you want the front to look like- I failed there). Karen consistently kept me up to date and answered questions even with a Hurricane a month and a half before the wedding. The day of the wedding Karen and her team were on time, ready to get down to business, and so nice! All of my bridesmaids and I felt like we just hanging out with friends where conversation and laughter just flowed. Karen and her team were able to make what other's wanted a reality as well. I ended up mixing up numbers and had an extra makeup service and they had no problem with me throwing my sister-in-law last minute into the mix to use the service. They also did an amazing job with my nieces. Considering they are 8 and 4, both looked absolutely adorable and were treated so well by both Karen and Alyssa . They felt so pampered and involved while mom's were very thankful they still looked 8 and 4 at the end of the day. If I could go back in time, I would not look anywhere but at Wildflower Hair and Makeup. I'm so appreciative of how amazing they were!

I first used Karen and her team last year for my engagement pictures, and that was the day I fell in love! Since then, Karen and her team have become and integral part of my life. They are the kindest and most positive group of women, a group you DEFINITELY want on your best day. And they’re TALENTED! They listen to exactly what you want, and give you that, even better. When my original wedding had to be postponed, Karen was also more than kind enough to let us postpone all the services plus still do my hair and makeup for my elopement. I have used her team for countless events now (my graduation, engagement pictures, anniversary pictures, my elopement, a friend’s and my upcoming postponed wedding!) and they rock it every time. Karen and her team were great. I had many hiccups throughout my wedding planning process. Changing venues and dates just to name a few. After booking with wildflower there were also some unforeseen issues that occurred the week prior to my wedding. Those issues were at no fault to either myself or any part of the wild flower team. That being said it required my hair and makeup artist to be changed last minute. Karen genuinely takes pride in her business and her work and went above and beyond to make things right. She made sure that we got to know each other prior to my wedding and even gave me a complimentary hair and makeup trial just so I was comfortable. My hair and makeup was 100% on point on my wedding day. It was exactly what I wanted and more!

Karen's team was absolutely wonderful through every aspect of the wedding process. We moved our wedding to Mandeville three months out and Wildflower was my first call. Wildflower hair and makeup absolutely exceeded all of my expectations!! For me, I was totally clueless about what I wanted and Karen and Allyssa guided me with some simple questions and the resulting look made me feel so beautiful on my wedding day! The full spectrum of personality types in my bridesmaids party were served so well - from clueless (like me) to type A, full pinterest board ready with specific looks - Karen and Allyssa made every lady of mine look and feel magnificent! Karen is an incredible communicator - so for all brides, I feel like this is the best asset to have in your hair/make-up team to give you a sense of confidence and stability. These ladies are absolutely phenomenal at what they do, and are truly WONDERFUL people. I just wanted to take a moment and thank Wildflower Hair and Makeup for all the services they provided for my best friend’s wedding on May 30, 2020! We all received so many compliments on our hair and makeup, and the staff made it so easy for us to just relax and enjoy getting pampered! After planning my daughter’s wedding for over a year, we had to replan a whole new wedding in our back yard in less than 5 weeks, due to covid19. It was long days and hard work, I had given in to the fact that I was just going to look old and haggard; But, Karen worked wonders, she made me look and feel more confident than I ever imagined. She was able to take a vision for my wedding from what I told her to create the most beautiful look for my wedding day. I have never felt more beautiful in my entire life.
