From the first email (that was answered within minutes) and our first phone call, we knew we couldn’t have our wedding without him and his radiant personality. We filled him in on our love story, how we met, how we got engaged, why we love Montauk so much, and all about our vision for our day. Fast forward to months later at our 5AM engagement session. He turned two overtired people and my camera shy fiancé into completely comfortable, photogenic people, and it didn’t even feel like a photo shoot. It just felt like we were hanging out for a few hours. When he told us to dance for a photo and could see how awkward we felt, he played our first dance song on his phone which was so awesome. We kept in touch (about Star Wars and our cats mostly, lol) until the wedding, and the wedding day was just perfect. Beforehand Billy was real with us about our timeline - he wanted to make sure we knew that without a first look we wouldn’t be able to do quite as much, but in NO way did he try to push that on us at all. He was just being realistic, but I’ll tell you that even with our tight timeline we ended up with breathtaking, once in a lifetime shots (OVER 2100 OF THEM). He and his team also helped with tasks throughout the day - carrying my bouquet, showing me how to carry my train, etc. and even took a selfie with my mother in law lol. Everyone loved him. He cried with us, laughed with us, sang some favorite songs with us, and bottom line created magic for us. We met Billy last year to do our engagement photos (after a phone conversation) and he did not let us down when we met him a few weeks later. what was most important to me was that they let myself and my partner have our moments. Though they were so helpful and provided support and guidance throughout the day, I never felt that they were "in the ceremony" with us. During our first look prior to the ceremony, they stood close by with their cameras as my partner and I laughed and cried as we saw each other for the first time that day. When we got our pictures back and I went through the ceremony shots I thought "How did they get that shot, I don't even remember seeing them there!" They captured every single moment of the day, and somehow still let us enjoy our moments without feeling intruded upon. During the day, Mike and Billy kept us on time and organized without being overly pushy. They gave us great direction and created some really beautiful shots (both posed and candid). Our portrait shots, our ceremony shots, and our reception shots all came out beautiful. They captured some photos of friends and family I had specifically requested and included a bunch more beautiful shots I hadn't even know I wanted. Our photos are stunning and I know my partner and I will treasure them for years to come. Oh and one more thing! Billy and Mike were fun! The wedding day itself can feel very stressful and very rushed and I have to say, Billy and Mike made sure I had fun. They weren't stoic, rushed, photographers, only intent on getting the shot. Instead, they were really friends to me and my partner that day, checked in regularly to see how we were doing, and made us laugh along the way. They are amazing people and worth every penny!

. It's not a shock then, from reading all the previous reviews for William Thomas Photography, that you have no need to look any further. From Billy's work with us on our engagement shoot to our wedding day, we are so grateful in the care he and his team (Mike, Chris, and Nick) took in making sure we were relaxed and enjoyed every moment. They were kind, considerate, and so friendly - our families and bridal party were put at ease and could not stop commenting on how amazing they were. We had an especially stressful week leading up to the wedding, and an even more stressful morning, and Billy just kept asking if there was anything he could do, or anything he could get me? There was a point where even I had to stop and say, wow. We received our photos (about 1300 of them) after a month and we are just blown away. There are so many great shots and they captured the day so beautifully. From the laughter between friends, to catching up with family, and the intimate moments between us both before and after the ceremony, I only wish we had planned to have more time, but as most weddings go, we ran so late! Billy kept us on track and while we made a few concessions in some of the shots we had wanted, he made sure we got the important ones. We also worked with his video team, and we are so anxious to see their work! They are well worth every penny we paid!

The team did not set a super strict time limit for shooting our wedding day, therefore we did not feel pressured or rushed at all, the process felt very fluid. Maggie and Mike made sure we took breaks and were very patient. We did have our own timeline that day, but Maggie advised us to allow for extra time in between events so we could catch our breath, pause, enjoy the moment and then really soak it all in. Even since booking him and planning all of 2018 his replys to my somewhat silly questions were so super fast and sweet and even made time to chat on the phone for conversations needed. Our engagement shoot was the first week of January on the Brooklyn Bridge in single digit weather. I was nervous the day wouldn't go so well and would end after just a few minutes because of the weather but Billy was so eager to shoot and it made the day go by amazingly. Fast forward to our wedding Oct 5th . Him and his team showed up on time and just made the whole day go so smoothly. We never felt pressured at the venue or reveal site to be constantly bothered doing pictures. We wrapped up family pictures so quickly and easily my husband and I actually had time to enjoy some cocktail hour which I feel like never happens. His team was so professional and amazing I don't believe the day would have went as well if I had gone with another group. tistic. We love that his photos aren't the typical "oversaturated" cookie cutter wedding photos but that you really feel the life in them. He also doesn't charge per hour. Many photographers charge more money if you go beyond 8 or 10 hours but you get Billy all day - as many hours as you need start to finish for the same cost. On top of that, he is the SWEETEST human on the planet. Everyone at my wedding was absolutely obsessed with him and a few of my friends who are engaged now want to use him for their weddings as well. He sent us about 1,800 pictures from our wedding and every single one is incredible. I truly want him to photograph every life event of ours moving forward because he is that talented and now we just adore him! I wouldn't hesitate to book Billy as he will capture your day flawlessly.

Billy has this amazing ability of communication. He suggested a few ideas so I wouldnt have to do a “formal first reveal” but set it up so my husband and I casually met each other. He just suggested that I may want to have a few pics without our bridal party staring at us. HE WAS 100% correct! Those are some of my favorite photos! In summary, these guys and gals just made us feel so comfortable, as if friends were taking our picture. I will forever remember their kindness, professionalism and AMAZING PICTURES! My family loved them, all of our 200 person wedding commented on how we never knew they were there! They are not “in your face” photographers. They blend in and make everyone so comfortable yet get shots that you didnt even know was impossible. As someone who hates taking pics...I even thought he made me look beautiful! From the very first instance we communicated with William, it was obvious how much he deeply cares about both his profession and the people he’s photographing. Our first in-person experience with William occurred during our engagement photo shoot and he did not disappoint. He was on time, organized, engaging, enthusiastic and incredibly fun to work with. And although the photo shoot occurred outdoors on one of coldest day of the year, the weather was not a problem whatsoever because William knew exactly where and when he wanted the pictures to be taken and, due to his organizational and people skills, he made a 3-hour photo shoot feel like a few seconds. Once we received the engagement photos back from him, we learned another couple of things about William. First, him and his team are hard workers who promptly get photographs back to you in a timely fashion. Secondly, not only are the pictures beautiful and elegantly done, but his attention to detail and eye for unique perspectives are just some of the reasons why William stands out from other photographers. Leading up to our wedding, I cannot even begin to tell you how many times he told us to reach out to him if we had any questions relating to the whole wedding planning process. A few weeks before the actual wedding day, we talked with William on the phone to go over the schedule and details of the entire wedding day. Everything we discussed perfectly came to fruition on our wedding. William and his entire team were on time at each location throughout the day. We got every picture we wanted and then some. And while you hear about so many weddings where the bride and groom feel overwhelmed with the number of pictures that are taken, we can honestly say we did not feel that way in the least bit. Just like the engagement photo shoot, William and his team knew precisely how many and where pictures needed to be taken, as well as who needed to be in them (and believe me, my wife had an extensive list of people combinations). Finally, when it came to the reception, we did not remember even seeing William and his entire team (two photographers, two videographers and one assistant) more than a handful of times. They knew how to spatially organize themselves and work the room so that my wife and I did not feel consumed or distracted with pictures and videos being taken. Bottom line: William and his team are phenomenal. We cannot recommend William highly enough and can personally guarantee you will not be disappointed.

we saw the way he was able to capture the love that was in the room throughout our friend’s wedding and the unique relationships to the couple, we were amazed. Another dear friend and her husband immediately hired him for their wedding the next year. When it came time for planning our own special day, Billy was the only photographer on our list. Billy was already booked on the day of our wedding, but had us meet with his associate, Marguerite (Maggie) Pintauro, who was at our other friends’ weddings as Billy’s second photographer. Maggie was wonderful from our first meeting. She had Billy’s same cool energy, had a great portfolio, and clearly wanted us to have the best photos. We are big theater fans and getting pictures in the theater district was important to us. As the theater district and Times Square are neighbors, this meant a lot of outdoor shots, dodging traffic and tourists. A stressful situation under normal circumstances, forget about being photographed as you navigate the crowds. Maggie was a pro, as was Mike, who was assisting Maggie during our engagement shoot and again at the wedding. We were having so much fun, our engagement shot turned into a 3-hour event; neither Maggie nor Mike said anything as we came up with meaningful spot after meaningful spot where we wanted a photograph. Our wedding was in Connecticut and was a 9-hour event, not including the pre-event photos that Maggie and her team captured and the 1-hour plus family photos we did pre-ceremony. The wedding also included a lot of live performances, including a 10-song cabaret during Cocktail Hour, a sing-along at dinner, and a 2-hour piano bar/open mic after party. Maggie and her team were with us throughout, capturing the amazing moments from the day (scripted and not). People kept saying to us, “Your photographers seem to be everywhere.” Reviewing the amazing shots on the online gallery, it’s clear that Maggie and Mike were indeed everywhere, forever preserving special memories and moments. When we found out we were selected to appear in the NYTimes Wedding Announcements, we immediately went to our amazing selection of photos from our engagement shoot with Maggie. So now for all time, Maggie, William Thomas Photography, and our wedding are forever linked. We couldn’t be happier with the association.
