Willow Oak Flower & Herb Farm

I highly recommend Willow Oak if you are planning a wedding or any other event that needs florals. We had a great consultation talk with them, and they were very informative. We didn’t know much about flowers, but had a color scheme and they were very patient and friendly explaining different flower choices with us. We sent some inspirational photos and table center ideas and then we put our full trust in them. On our wedding day, they fully delivered. First, they delivered to the church, the pew decorations, and large flower arrangements were breathtaking. Then at the wedding reception, the center pieces for both the guest tables and our sweetheart table along with flowers on our cake and miscellaneous items of decor were put beautifully and intentionally. The price was very reasonable and within our budget and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience.

Flowers were beautiful and arrived on time. Our daughter gave the designers a great deal of freedom in designing the flowers for her wedding, and they were able to design beautiful bouquets that fit her specifications well. They also designed beautiful arrangements for the arch behind the sweetheart table. They left additional flowers/greens which really saved us as we had ordered one too few bouquets. The price was reasonable and the work was amazing! Thank you for making our daughter’s day so lovely.

Willow Oak Flower & Herb Farm did the arrangements for our wedding in Washington, DC in late April 2023. We did 4-5 centerpieces, a garland for the terrace, and some bud vases and larger vases for the cocktail tables and welcome table. Gwen was an absolute delight to work with from start to finish. She made excellent recommendations for flowers that were in season, native to the area, smelled divine, and matched our color scheme perfectly (not to mention a terrific value). We brought some of the arrangements home with us, and they were in great shape more than a week later! We had to reschedule from an initial September 2022 date due to unforeseen circumstances, and Gwen was very flexible in accommodating our new date. We would recommend Willow Oak Flower & Herb Farm without reservation!

Willow Oaks arranged the flowers for my daughter’s wedding on 4/22/23 Earth Day. My daughter requested that the flowers have an earth day theme which they were able to 100% create. The staff completed the flowers several hours before the event, provided time for us to look at them and were kind, caring and professional throughout the whole process. The flowers were stunning and made an awesome day even more wonderful. I recommend them to everyone and will use Willow Oaks for all events in which I need flowers. Thanks so much!

Willow Oak is simply amazing. I fell in love with their work early on in wedding planing and wanted to hire them. I sent them a few inspiration photos and gave a general color scheme, but left all the particulars up to them. Walking into the venue on my wedding day, I was blown away. The arrangements were stunning and the room smelled amazing. Some of the arrangements even included live potted plants that now live on my deck! My expectations were high, and Willow Oak still managed to exceed them. I cannot praise them enough.

Willow Oak farm has the most amazing flowers! I met Gwen who was so nice and very attentive to what I wanted for my wedding regarding colors and types of flowers! My colors were Plum and Sage and the arrangement she came up with was gorgeous! They matched the style I was looking for and looked very wintery which was perfect! I highly recommend meeting with Gwen and checking out all of the flowers at Willow Oak! You won't be disappointed!

When I first started wedding planning I had decided not to prioritize florals. My venue was gorgeous (Gramercy Mansion) and I felt like spending money on flowers was unnecessary. Thankfully my mom convinced me otherwise. I found Willow Oak because if we were going to be spending the money on flowers, at least I wanted to try to be somewhat sustainable. I've always loved dried florals so the fact that Gwen worked in dried and fresh florals into our bouquets was inspired. All of our center pieces, bouquets, boutonnières, aisle arrangements, and arch pieces, and corsages all had the same feeling but they were far from identical. You could tell Gwen really but thought into how all the pieces would fit together without just making the same thing over and over. The day of my wedding I almost ruined my makeup turning my head so quickly to see the aisle arrangements as the Willow Oak team was setting up. The bouquets were INSANE, and photographed so beautifully. They were exactly what I was hoping for and looked like they came directly off of Pinterest. We got so many compliments on our flowers. They matched the vibe and what we were going for exactly without breaking the bank. Im going to preserve my bouquet because I loved it so much. Hands down best company to get florals from.

Gwen was great to work with and able to pick up where the previous coordinator left off for our wedding. There was an unexpected change in staff a few months before, which happens sometimes, but didn't impact our event at all. Gwen made sure everything was in order and to my specifications the day of and delivered the bouquets to where my girls and I were getting ready. My main request was small bouquets, as I have small hands and wanted to be able to hold the bouquet in one hand completely closed. When they showed up, not only where the stems small and manicured perfectly, but Gwen was able to still have them look full and beautiful. At first, I thought they might still be too big, but they were just perfect!

We used this company for our wedding. The were super accommodating in letting me change the amounts and style of flowers that we wanted through the planning process. I let them go ahead and do whatever they wanted and man, it looked awesome. Would use them again and highly reccomend!

I was looking for wildflower-y bouquets and Willow Oak nailed it! All of my flowers were stunningly beautiful, I can't recommend enough if you're looking for a whimsical aesthetic.

The quote was about half of other florists and yet the flowers were unbelievable. My guests and makeup artists all said they were the best wedding flowers they had seen. Of all my vendors, they were the best.

Willow Oak Farm is truly a treasure, I can't recommend them enough! My husband and I know nothing about flowers so in our first meeting, we mentioned our colors, style and a few flower types but not much - I was so impressed with the way they perfectly nailed our vision! I also kept adding things to our contract and they took it in stride! Originally I was planning on doing my own centerpieces- I was going to thrift stores buying different lanterns, wood slices, and electric candles. But once I got about 13 of them, I realized they all looked so different and I had no idea how to make it look cohesive. Bring in Willow Oak to save the day! They were willing to take all of the items I had bought and design the rest themselves. I got on the phone with Kasey after sending her some photos of what I had, and she recommended spray painting the lanterns a light color to make everything more cohesive. They turned out great and we got so many compliments! Like every other bride out there I also turned to pinterest for hair ideas and found a really cool woven hair garland idea - Willow Oak had never done something like that before but they were totally game, and it turned out beautifully!! I felt like Rapunzel all day! A few days before our wedding, Kasey called to let me know that the flowers we had chosen, dahlias, had gotten a disease so they'd need to outsource them and couldn't guarantee quality. She asked if they could use a different flower and I said that was fine. I really appreciated the heads up, and they ended up making the most beautiful bouquets! Willow Oak is a sustainable flower farm that's reasonably priced and has the nicest and most talented staff!

I was recommended Willow Oak by my mother. They were absolutely incredible with all of the changes due to the COVID-19 pandemic. I think we changed our wedding plans at least three times. And they were right on the ball with every single change. My flowers were absolutely stunning and the pictures honestly don't do justice to how beautiful they were. I cannot recommend them enough.

I am so happy about hiring Heather and her team for the flowers for my fall wedding. She took pictures I brought to the initial consultation and I trusted her expertise to execute the flowers for my wedding with the style I was going for. She delivered and then some!! I was absolutely blown away by the amount of flowers at the wedding, I don't even remember bringing that many glass bottles to her. The arbor flowers and bouquets were beyond what I could have dreamed of and my groom loved his boutonniere too. My husband and I were stationed in Germany. I was searching high and low for a reputable florist in the area with reasonable prices and available on a very popular wedding date! That’s when I discovered Willow Oak which was 10 minutes away from my parents house. Communication with Heather was great and she was able to work well within my budget. When I came home for a visit, we were able to sit down and discuss the various flowers that were going to be in season and finalize my floral vision. Willow Oak’s contract was simple and easy to understand. Since my ceremony was in Baltimore and parents were close, my Dad was able to come pick up bouquets & boutonnieres which were all labeled and stored properly for travel. Heather and her team set up my reception venue to perfection with her flowers! She even used the excess flowers and greenery to decorate other places in my reception venue! Heather with Willow Oak Flower and Herb Farm was outstanding to work with. I am still in awe over the flowers from my wedding, and I can't stop looking at photos of them. She helped work within my budget and incorporated everything I asked for including blue thistle, succulents, eucalyptus, and cream flowers. Even better, they grow local and organic! The delivery was right on schedule, and she delivered to two separate locations for my reception and for my house where I was getting ready. She is so talented and very sweet, and I couldn't have asked for a better experience. I highly recommend!!

Heather was incredible to work with. At our original meeting, she took diligent notes on my "vision" of flowers for the day of. She offered lots of options for things such as centerpieces, wedding favors, and an arch for the ceremony. Her wedding tea blend was AMAZING -- a huge hit with the guests! The flower arrangements were absolutely beautiful, and were exactly what I was picturing! Best of all, she was able to handle most things day of without needing any help from me, which allowed me to focus on getting ready instead of worrying about flowers. I would absolutely recommend her to everyone in the area! She was incredible!

Heather and the Willow Oak team were instrumental in bringing my wedding day vision to life. I booked her for our wedding 4/21/2018 and she did not disappoint! I was drawn to Willow Oak because they grow all their own flowers, and they're farmed free of chemical pesticides. I described to Heather via email what I wanted with pictures - white roses, peonies and anemones for 8 bouquets, several corsages/boutonnieres and a couple of flowers arrangements for the gift and cake tables. I had a figure in mind for what we would pay and Heather's quote was only a third of that - I was floored! She also recommended some additional flowers and silvery foliage to complement my original selections and I know nothing about flowers so I agreed and hoped for the best! I was initially planning to do oyster shells as our table centerpieces but halfway through the process, decided to do flowers instead and I'm SO GLAD I did. I called Heather in a panic that it would be too late to source all those extra flowers but she did it no problem and sent me back a prompt, itemized contract every time I made a change (which I did - often!). Ultimately, florals were the one thing I was most apprehensive about because I didn't see the exact flowers in the exact arrangements prior to our wedding day. My bouquet was breathtaking and so were my bridesmaids' flowers. They were the perfect size and had the most beautiful, fresh flowers that complemented the dresses so well. When I walked into our reception my jaw dropped - the tables looked absolutely amazing. Heather's recommendations for additional types of flowers were on point and the tables looked beautiful! At the end of the night, every single one of our 16 centerpieces and all 8 of the bouquets were taken home by our family and friends who couldn't stop gushing about how beautiful the arrangements were. Heather brought my exact vision for our wedding day to life and did an amazing job in the process. Heather is an artist and consistently creates the most beautiful arrangements. Willow Oak has been there throughout our entire relationship from the day my now husband told them, "I need you to create something for a girl who is my friend who I want to be something more" to our engagement to our wedding. We knew we had to use them for our wedding, and they didn't disappoint. They were so punctual the day of the wedding and we had so many compliments on our flowers. We didn't really have a vision for what we wanted for our flowers, so we gave Heather lots of flexibility and she did such a great job! Hire them and you will be so happy with the result!

Willow Oak Flower and Herb was our florist for our wedding in October 2017. We worked with Heather and she was amazing every step of the way. She is very professional, talented, patient, and accommodating. Heather listened to every detail and our flowers and decor couldn't have been more beautiful! I cannot say enough wonderful things about Willow Oak Flower and Herb Farm and Heather, their floral designer. We used them for our Oct 28th wedding, and I can't be happier about the decision. I was looking for flowers that were a little whimsical and more gardeny than a traditional florist, and Willow Oak was the perfect choice. Heather was a dream to work with, and when I wasn't exactly sure what I wanted initially, she really read my mind. She was very responsive throughout the whole process and was unendingly patient with last minute additions and changes that I ended up making. They delivered the flowers on time and set everything up beautifully. The flowers themselves were absolutely beautiful and fresh and smelled amazing; quite a few of my guests ended up taking the centerpieces home! I really thing there something be said for patronizing a small farm that grows all of their own flowers. I definitely will be returning in the spring to buy some of their other plants. If you're looking for a well-priced florist who has a massive streak of artistic talent, Willow Oak is exactly what you're looking for.

Heather and the staff at Willow Oak were superb. We met with Heather for a consultation and discussed our theme, concepts, and desired floral arrangements for more than an hour. She took lots of notes, asked questions, determined the types of flowers that we liked, did not like, and then provided us with multiple examples of her previous work. She was upfront about the types of flowers that we could expect to be in season for the time of year that our wedding was being held and the fact that while the Farm could obtain anything we wanted, it would be at a higher cost if it was not something they were growing. She also worked with us in determining what would be best for our budget. The results blew us away! Our arch was gorgeous and prettier than any of the examples that we provided. One of our other vendors who had done several previous weddings at the same location said that it was by far, the nicest one she'd seen there. The centerpieces were beautiful with the perfect ratio of flowers to greenery and complimented the coastal theme we were aiming for. My bouquet was also beautiful, again incorporating our theme without being kitschy. The same was true for my bridesmaids and the groomsmen. We are thrilled that we brought our business to a small, family owned and operated business. They are affordable, pleasant to work with, and do outstanding work. You just can't go wrong with having Willow Oak do your wedding flowers!

The farm was beautiful and exactly what I wanted!! We had plenty of flowers and it was something very relaxing to do the day before the wedding. The farm is gorgeous and the flowers turned out beautiful, everyone complimented them. Maria was super helpful in showing us how to make them. Highly recommend!!!

Heather was fabulous to work with. I will be the first to admit that I don’t know much about flowers and came in with next to no ideas. She was super patient, went through older arrangements with me and discussed flowers to get an idea of what I liked and wanted. She’s definitely an expert! All of the flowers came out perfectly and they delivered right to the venue which was perfect – one less thing to deal with the weekend of! This place is amazing – I got to support a local business, get beautiful flowers, AND the bill came in at thousands less than what other florists wanted! You will not regret going with them.

I might be a little biased, but our wedding flowers were the most gorgeous I've ever seen! I met with Heather once to go over our color scheme and some flowers I liked and the general style I was looking for, but didn't provide much guidance beyond that. She provided the most gorgeous, big cascading bouquets I've ever seen! My bouquet was full of gorgeous flowers at their peak. Every arrangement we got was just bursting with color and beautifully arranged. I changed my order a couple of times over the course of the months between my consult with Heather and my wedding, and she was incredibly flexible and accommodating. It was a great experience working with Willow Oak and they more than exceeded my expectations - my only regret is that I didn't get more arrangements from them! I still can't believe how gorgeous everything was. Highly recommend.

Cannot say enough positive things about Willow Oak. From the beginning Heather was easy to work with, very laid back and full of wonderful ideas. The centerpieces, the chupah and my bouquet were absolutely gorgeous. My guests could not get over how beautiful the chupah was. Everything was perfect.

Willow Oak did an amazing job for our wedding and had great service throughout. The flowers we had we absolutely beautiful, and perfectly captured the mood we were trying to set. Also, they were crazy affordable. The bouquets as well as the buckets of flowers they delivered for the wedding were significantly cheaper than any other place I looked. And because I used flowers from their gardens, everything looked amazing fresh and seasonal. We had one slight miscommunication over boutonnieres, but well I called them the morning of the wedding, they were amazing about sorting things out and re-delivered flowers to me in no time, which completely handled a situation that could have been very stressful. They are so helpful and knowledgeable and really their price point cannot be beat. Highly recommend using them for any occasion.

I met with Heather from Willow Oak to talk about my flowers. She is super sweet and very creative. I didn't have anything particular in mind and she steered me in the right direction. All of the flowers were absolutely gorgeous and all of the bouquets and arrangements were put together with care. Everything fit in so well with my vision and colors - I was very impressed. My bridal bouquet has preserved perfectly!

For my summer wedding (with an outdoor ceremony), we wanted to use local flowers with a bit more of a natural feel. Willow Oak Flower and Herb Garden put together beautiful flowers for our centerpieces, in hanging mason jars along the aisle, for the cake, the bride/maid of honor bouquets, and boutonnieres. We went in several months ahead of time to discuss what we wanted. We were then able to see a trial arrangement a few weeks before and requested a minor change, and for the day of, they looked better than I could have imagined. Thanks to Heather for doing a great job!

I love this place! I'm so happy that I found a place to get high quality local flowers! Plus they have decades of experience doing weddings. My consultation at the farm was a lot of fun. So great to see where my flowers were grown! Heather listened to everything I said and incorporated all my ideas and addressed all my concerns. The flowers were beautiful and my bouquet lasted for over a week after the wedding! The flowers for the church and the reception were already there by the time I arrived, everything was set up perfectly, no problems at all.

For some reason I waited until three weeks before my wedding to pick a florist. I guess because I was doing my centerpieces myself, and I didn't need as many flowers as most brides. I also had no idea which vendor to go with. My mother-in-law suggested Willow Oak to me, and after looking at their website and reading their reviews I was mostly sold. When I called to set up a consultation, I felt sure that they would tell me it was too late to book them, since October is such a busy wedding month in MD. But they scheduled me for that week! And after I met with Heather, she wasn't the least bit worried about my needs and my timeline. I was totally sold! She was very patient and listened to all of my thought and requests. Willow Oak is such a cool place.. not your typical florist! They grow everything there on their property, so everything is locally grown and seasonal. It's also herbicide- and pesticide-free, so it's environmentally friendly. Heather made me two bouquets, two corsages, six boutonnieres, provided me with greens and flowers for my buffet tables, desserts, and cake topper, made an arrangement for my memorial vase, made up four planters, and decorated the arch we got married under. Everything was so beautiful and fragrant! I did not want the typical roses and hydrangeas, but more greens and herbs, so Willow Oak was perfect for me! I understand they can order things for you that aren't in season if you want them, but that seems to defeat the purpose of going with a place like Willow Oak. Plus my flowers are drying beautifully now, since they were mostly herbs and berries. And possibly the best part of Willow Oak.. they're unbelievable reasonable!! My flowers ended up costing about a fourth of the budget. I highly recommend them for all of your flower needs!! I'll even be returning to them for some of their many classes and services they offer throughout the year :)

Willow Oak Flower & Herb Farm was an incredible florist if you are looking for something a little off-beat (which I was). They use a lot of herbs and greenery in their flower arrangements, and mainly use flowers they grow - lots of local, seasonal flowers. I worked mainly with Heather - she was incredible. Weddings are ridiculously stressful, and Heather is incredibly calm and relaxed - this was a welcome relief after dealing with crazy parents and in-laws. Every request I made she was able to do. I asked for burlap and lace wrapped mason jars, she gave me adorable centerpieces. Last minute, I needed her to construct the huppah instead of just decorating it, and, without batting an eye, she did it. They delivered on time, set everything up with no hassle, and came back to break down the huppah after the event. Our bouquets were BEAUTIFUL - she was able to get exactly the coral color I wanted for the bridesmaids flowers, and my bouquet was a thing of beauty. Overall, I absolutely loved Willow Oaks and would 10000000% recommend them to anyone who is looking for something a little more unique for their wedding.

Heather is the sweetest person, ever. The arrangements she made were fabulous for the price we paid. She has the most humble spirit and is responsive to calls and emails. They delivered all of the flowers on time and did great work decorating the church. My bouquet was beyond beautiful, so was all of the other flowers we got.

Willow Oak did a wonderful job with our wedding flowers. We met with Abby to go over our ideas and she was so helpful and had a lot of great suggestions. When I first started planning I didn't know what types of flowers I wanted at my wedding, and so Abby &amp; Heather both gave me suggestions and showed us pictures that were beautiful. I loved that they suggested wrapping the maid of honors' boquets in different colored ribbon- this was such a neat touch and it looked wonderful! Heather did a great job of answering all my questions along the way as well. On the day of the wedding we were 100% satisfied. The flowers were gorgeous and they fit perfectly with the theme of our wedding. I especially loved my boquet-it was perfect :) Thank you thank you thank you Willow Oak!!

Flowers were good for the price. Flowers were not exactly what we discussed in our meet and greet. Flowers were supposed to be more blue, turned out more yellow. Also, only supplied one pin for each boutonnière and they kept turning upside down so the boutonnières were upside down in most of my wedding pictures.
