I found this Inn by chance, and I am so glad I did! I was the maid of honor and helped plan my soul sister's (sister in law) wedding this past June. We had the most beautiful wedding weekend. We had all 30 rooms rented out for just our family and friends. The landscaping, flower gardens and the walk down to the lake is beautiful and perfect for taking photos. Every morning before the chaos would begin, I would take a cup of their complimentary tea and walk down to sit on the dock and enjoy the incredible view. We brought our own floaties and pool noodles to play in the water, but the Inn also had kayaks and a canoe for guest use which we took full advantage of! There was freshly ground coffee brewed each morning, and the housekeepers took out the trash, made the beds and brought fresh towels every day. The tent was put up friday evening and not taken down until after we left at noon on Sunday. We had a delicious rehearsal dinner of freshly made pasta, salad and garlic bread catered by The Maine Meal. They also catered the wedding dinner of traditional Lebanese food: marinated chicken, hummus, pita, dolmas, toum, olives, tabbouleh, and more. We had breakfast platters of bagels, muffins, pastries, fruit and yogurt delivered by The Orange Cat Cafe on Friday and Saturday morning. The spreads were incredible. We made up gourmet smore platters to have around the fire each night. There are 2 grills there if you wanted to bbq. They let us store items in their personal storage area, and let us use whatever tables or items we needed from there. We were given the freedom to decorate how we wanted and we took full advantage by placing tons of olive branches, white rose petals, copper and brass items and tons of white flowers all over. We were able to have the flowers delivered to the Inn and they were brought to our rooms when they arrived. Some of our peonies were delayed, but we found a local farm, Green Garden Farm, who had some in stock. They were cheaper, local, and gorgeous! We made all the bouquets ourselves at the inn. We hired a local band, The Smelts, to play and danced barefoot on the lawn for hours. When we first decided to have the wedding at this venue, Tom and Sue Atwood were the owners. About 2-3 weeks before the wedding, we found out they had sold the Inn. Because of this, there was some miscommunication and a few snags in the contract. We didn't receive the dance floor, or the sides on the tent. The chairs were not white, and were gray folding metal chairs. There were not enough chairs to be set up for the ceremony and to be set up for the dinner. Thankfully the weather was absolutely beautiful and the chair rental company had more chairs that we were able to pick up. The new owners, Anna and Jesse, remained calm at our heightened expressions, and were very helpful in trying to make sure all of our needs were met, despite being left to take care of the wedding with very little guidance or support. Even with the few snags we had, this weekend was just a treasure. If you are willing to put in the work of finding a caterer, band, florist, photographer, bartender, decorating yourself, etc, then this is the perfect venue for a much smaller fee than what you would pay at any of the other lakeside venues. I highly recommend this experience!
