We booked the assoc package, where one of their assoc shoots your day, but owners edit the product. Their contract said an assoc is assigned 6 wks prior to the wedding. I never heard anything and it was 4 wks out so I set an appt for a call. Sam called and said “we were lucky enough to actually have him shoot our day because they didn’t have any weddings booked for him and Katie”. I actually wanted the assoc and not him, but he made it seem like it was an upgrade so I went with it. I also thought it was kind of strange that the owners would take away service from their assoc just because they didn’t have business themselves. Day of, Sam showed up on time, offered to help with any set up needed, etc which was nice. He even did a “day of edit” where he edited footage he filmed that day and showed it on a big screen to get our guests to the dance floor. However, the + really end there. When we did our 1st look, we read cards to e/o that we wrote. While we were reading, a truck was backing up & loudly beeping. Instead of stopping us and either asking the truck to stop or having us move to a more quiet place, he told us he’d do a voiceover of that portion if we wanted to record ourselves at home reading the letters. In the moment I thought nothing of it, but once we did it and received our video back, it sounded so scripted and none of the raw emotion was there. This was a really special moment that had the pure emotion taken away in our film that we paid a ton of money for. Next, they send you all your footage in a Google drive, and when I received some of it, I noticed a file that said “ceremony and speeches color graded”. This file had the ceremony but the camera was set up in a spot where all you could see was the tops of peoples heads and not any of the wedding party or myself walking down the aisle. Another thing I was unhappy with was that our film was sent in 2 ways, one was strictly a voiceover of the re-recorded letters to each other that sounded scripted and thrown in the middle was audio of our officiant speaking. The second version was put to 2 songs. We were disappointed in this because we were expecting more similar to my brothers, which was a perfect blend of music, speeches, and vows. After this, I reached out and was polite, but brought up these two concerns. Apparently when you criticize their work, even politely, is when you’ll finally get a response from them. Katie replied within minutes and sent me a condescending response about how they went above and beyond for me, went over their editing time, upgraded our package, and that the ceremony file wasn’t the only view. I’m not sure why they’d color grade that file if it wasn’t even good or visible instead of the other one that was better. I responded to her that I was taken aback by her response bc I would think they’d want to make sure clients were happy with their footage after spending so much money, instead of making them feel bad by touting their “top 10 ranking” and all that they “went above and beyond for”, even if it was not what we were hoping for. The emails went on, with them offering to change it but for more money, which I declined because we had already paid a lot.

. He captured all the shots we requested, and a plethora of others. He provided more than we expected as far as edited content (2 teasers, a full film, and 4 extra snippets)!!! We were highly impressed with the edited content...it felt like we were reliving our wedding day all over again. Not to mention, he edited content during the wedding and played it on the wall during the reception, projector style! All our guests were SO impressed (and so were we!)
