Wingate's Cake Design

s fun and easy. She took the time to understand what we were looking for and delivered something that exceeded every expectation we had. Our cake and dessert table were a huge hit with our guests, and we received so many compliments throughout the night. Every dessert was delicious, beautifully presented, and disappeared quickly. Most importantly, our wedding cake was honestly one of the best cakes we've ever had, if not the best. It was absolutely incredible. Lauren's talent, attention to detail, and ability to create desserts that are both beautiful and delicious are truly unmatched. We could not recommend her more highly.

wedding tasting since we did not live local. Our wanted heart shaped "Just married" cake was appropriately priced, delicious, and perfect for our wedding reception to cut and also feed our bridal party since our venue had a dessert table included. She also had a beautiful gold cake stand that we were able to use to display our cake on that did not cost extra to rent. Would highly recommend working with Lauren again if you are getting married in the Newport area!

akes and frostings and helping us design our cake (which turned out beautiful). We ended up choosing her almond cake with vanilla frosting and coconut cake with biscoff cookie frosting. Both were delicious - our guests were raving about how good the cake was and we had almost none leftover! We also purchased some macarons of various unique flavors at our tasting, and highly recommend those as well :)

y event. I cannot wait to use her again for another special occasion!

e was easy to work with, accommodating, and clearly committed to making sure everything was perfect and exactly as we envisioned. The design of the cake was everything we had hoped for. It was elegant, thoughtful, and perfectly matched to the theme of our celebration. And just as importantly, the flavors truly blew us (and our guests) away. So many wedding cakes look beautiful but fall short on taste — ours delivered on both. It looked stunning and tasted incredible! We recommend Lauren without hesitation to anyone looking for a spectacular wedding cake that’s as delicious as it is beautiful.

ectly and our guests could not stop talking about how amazing all the desserts were. From the beginning, Lauren was extremely professional and listened to every detail that we asked for, giving us our dream dessert room for the guests and us to enjoy!! I would absolutely recommend Lauren for every event!!

! And everyone LOVED it. Not to mention everything is so delicious! I highly recommend Wingate’s Cakes!

re amazing, it was so hard to chose. We ended up going with red velvet with buttercream frosting and it was absolutely delicious. Lauren made our vision come to life, and created the cake of our dreams

We went to a lot of different bakeries for our wedding cake but when we did your tasting with Lauren we felt like royalty. Everything was set up so Beautifully. We couldn’t pick a flavor so we had to do another tasting and she even set it out in a Togo so we can do it at home and really have time to think. She was so easy to work with, she put together our dessert buffet so beautifully. I kept adding things and changing and she was so kind the whole way through and accommodating. People are still talking about our cake and desserts lol it was so delicious Thank you Lauren for everything!!

ur different flavors of macaroons. Every single thing was eaten and raved about by our guests... even by people who "don't usually do dessert" Lauren was also extremely accessible / communicative throughout the process and our tasting was so cute and fun! If you choose to work with Lauren you won't regret it!

She was incredibly accommodating, listening closely to our vision while adding her artistic touch that made our cake (and macarons!) truly one of a kind. Beyond her talent, Lauren was timely, responsive, and a true joy to work with. We loved her baked goods so much that we keep coming back for more whenever she has pop-ups. Her cakes are not only stunning but also absolutely scrumptious. We can't recommend Wingate's Cake Design enough—you won't find a more talented or wonderful person to work with! A++++

it. She even was able to make it so the lemon cake we chose was “less yellow” on the inside so it was more subtle. Would recommend her to everyone!

for us, just by that we knew we were going to love her design and desserts! She made the most delicious wedding cake my husband and I could have ever imagined! Not to mention all the additional desserts she offers from the macaroons, the strawberry shortcake shooters, the brownie bars, and berry streusel bars… it was all amazing! Highly recommend Wingcakedesigns and Lauren herself!

antastic tasting with Lauren and she was very accommodating to even some last minute requests we had that popped up. I highly recommend trying the "rose all day" cake. Lauren made a beautiful white cake decorated with real flowers from our florist. It was a dream!

which was super helpful. We started with a really fun cake tasting at Lauren’s lovely studio, and then she designed a beautiful cake that matched our vision perfectly — and the flavors were out of this world! Our guests raved about our lavender cake with a lemon curd filling, and we can’t wait to enjoy the topper for our anniversary. We couldn’t have been happier with our wedding cake! 10/10 we’d work with Lauren again, and recommend her to a friend!

. We chose a 3 tier cake with 2 flavors, one was rosé all day, and the other was vanilla bean cake with creme Brule filling. The cake went so fast, everyone raved about it. She also garnished it with fresh flowers from our florist Red Velvet florist. I didn't take many pictures and didn't get my pictures from photographer yet, I only have the photos that other people took. But I would highly recommend her for a wedding cake or even a holiday cake or French macarons. I've tried it all! Everything Lauren makes is delightful:

ebration. Having experience in executing corporate events for my employer, I knew how important this occasion would be but imagine planning a “wedding celebration” from thousands of miles away across country as a surprise - this was our situation. In truth, Lauren was one of five cake bakers that I interviewed within the MA/RI area. However, from my first contact with Lauren Wingate at Wingate’s Cake Design, I knew I had found the baker who could execute a special custom cake for the celebration. Her customer service, detailed communications, and flexibility were nothing short of exceptional! She understood the cake vision and created an edible, delicious, visual art for the event of 90+ attendees. Her passion for quality was evident with the cake tasting appointment where local family members attended in my absence. Lauren’s expertise fine-tuned the cake design and flavors during the appointment, and she was open to new ideas. The final product was amazing – her beautiful artistry coupled with a delicious creation was flawless perfection! Lauren’s cakes are made from scratch and the texture and taste of her labor is clearly evident. No commercial cake mixes or frostings here, just fresh fantastic decadent moist cake, rich creamy buttercream and in our case, a sweet lemon curd filling. The cake was so scrumptious that guests were having second servings during the party and the 60 “take home cake boxes” were all used. The cake design was beautiful, and Lauren was able to create magnificent edible art simply with conversations and a copy of the celebration invitation even matching the floral color palette. Her creation for my In-Laws was the perfect sweet ending to a special event and they were thrilled and so appreciative of Lauren’s talent. The Country Club Event Coordinator was so impressed with Wingate’s Cake Design that she discussed preferred vendor status options. Of the 100s of weddings the Country Club has hosted, the Event Coordinator commented that she had never witnessed a wedding cake baker deliver a cake in an insulated cooled cake box, which Lauren does to ensure the cake arrives in perfect condition at the venue – that is the level of quality that Lauren provides. This 60th Wedding Anniversary was more of a wedding than just a simple party. Thanks to Wingate’s Cake Design, my MiL had the “wedding cake” of her dreams fulfilling her secret desire to feel like a “bride” for a day. Bottom line, wedding celebrations are memorable, and a delicious beautiful custom cake adds to those memories. Knowing your wedding cake vision can be executed superbly should be one less concern on your wedding day. IMHO, Wingate’s Cake Design is one of the exceptional wedding cake vendors in the MA/RI area and you will be a very happy and satisfied customer when you engage her service – just like us!

it was so hard to choose. We ended up getting the rosé cake with strawberry cream cheese buttercream and the chocolate cake with honey bourbon cinnamon cream cheese buttercream and both exceeded our expectations. Our guests all LOVED the cake. It was beautiful and delicious!!

ded us through our options as we sampled what would ultimately become our choice of a three-tiered lemon cake w/raspberry preserves and almond buttercream, carrot cake w/cinnamon honey bourbon buttercream, and gluten free almond cake w/strawberry cream cheese buttercream. At our May wedding, we were so pleased with her attention to detail when she created a cake that was beautiful, moist, and delicious, far exceeding our expectations. Our guests keep asking us where it was from, it made such a wonderful impression. Thank you, Lauren. You were so easy to work with. You’re the BEST!!

that flavor- and they were so accommodating!! It was DELICIOUS! Our guests raved about it and said they had never had anything like it. We had a lavender cake with blackberry filling and cream cheese buttercream, even the lavender skeptics loved it! We have a piece in our freezer we can’t wait to have again. Plus, it was absolutely stunning. Exactly what we asked for. We couldn’t have been happier and wouldn’t have changed a single thing.

l it was, but they also kept talking about how delicious the cake was too! I would recommend this bakery to anyone looking for a cake. They will be our go-to bakery for all future events. PS- My husband is already patiently waiting for our one-year anniversary to eat the wedding cake again. It has only been three months lol.

good. The theme of our wedding was “Phantom of the Opera” which meant the cake needed a mask and of course red roses. Lauren was eager to accommodate us with the design of the cake and the flavor combinations. We wanted the cake to look like red velvet but with almond flavor instead of chocolate. We couldn’t be more delighted with the way the cake turned out. It was just the way we imagined. The cake and the macaroon tower were both a hit with everyone! Lauren was a pleasure to work with and we would certainly recommend her to anyone who needs cake or pastries for their event.

ding. I told her what I was looking for and what colors where in my wedding party and the cake came out amazing. I originally had a cake for 150 people but that was reduced to 90 people and she accommodated with no problem. I wish I could put a picture up of my cake because it was so beautiful. Also every guest loved the cake!

s at their wedding also!
