My husband and I were incredibly lucky and grateful to have Winterlyn as our photographer at both our engagement shoot and at our wedding. The moment we opened our gallery, both of our jaws dropped at how beautiful the pictures were. I wasn’t sure how much more we could be impressed with Winterlyn’s work and she proved us wrong! Through Winterlyn, I learned that pictures can be taken in a way that when you look at it, you can remember exactly what you felt in that moment. When I look at our gallery, I see a story being told where every picture has meaning behind it and it showcases what an artist Winterlyn is. I can say with full confidence that she will always go above and beyond for her clients not only because she is your photographer, but also because she truly cares about you and bringing you joy through her work. ought it would and I later found out that this was mainly because he was so impressed with Winterlyn's work that he scheduled the big day with her availability in mind - (despite my initial impatience), it was worth it! Not only is her art beautiful, but she was an absolute joy to work with. There were obviously a lot of emotions and adrenaline in that moment and Winterlyn made us both feel very at ease both then, and during our small photoshoot, post-proposal. She was kind and comforting while also being very helpful in directing our poses and ensuring we got a variety of amazing photos. My fiancé and I are not accustomed to PDA and do not have many photos taken of the two of us so it felt particularly great that we were able to be comfortable and have it feel genuine while also getting a great product. Our full gallery of photos was ready much sooner than initially expected and she even created a beautiful slideshow that captured the overflowing joy of that day. We've shared them with numerous friends and family and they all have high praise. Thank you Winterlyn!

out your experience. Upon booking, Winterlyn sent us a welcome booklet with great information to prepare us for both the engagement photos and wedding day photos. I was originally on the fence about booking the package with the engagement photos but SO happy we did. It gave us the opportunity to get to know Winterlyn, her shooting style and get comfortable posing in front of the camera….we also got beautiful photos we used as part of our wedding day decor! We got married during the busy wedding season, and while I had to reach out to some vendors multiple times to hear a response…this was never the case with Winterlyn. She was always responsive, organized, flexible and detail oriented which was much appreciated during the very stressful wedding planning process. She was also a great resource and scheduled time with us to help develop a photography timeline for our wedding day. On the day of the wedding she was a familiar and calming face throughout the whole day - and we actually got to enjoy the process of taking photos with her and her assistant. We absolutely LOVE our wedding photos. And we were blown away by how quickly she worked through the editing process to deliver the final photo gallery. when it came to all of our questions. There was even a questionnaire to get to know us a little more prior to the shoot. We thought it was going to be a hard thing to plan, as we live in out of town. The hardest part was searching for photographers we liked, but we saw Winterlyn's work and how reasonable she is and had to jump on it! The day of, Winterlyn was early and ready to get started. She came with such a positive attitude and made us feel comfortable from the very beginning. We did not expect to climb up on things and run across the street BUT it was so worth it!! We did an outfit change and booked for 2 hours and the time flew. We definitely recommend if you're looking for an awesome photographer in Chicago! Our pictures came out soooo beautiful! We look like we should be in a magazine 🙂. We will be using them at our wedding.

We had to delay booking her due to some changes with our venue selection, but she kept in touch and ultimately we were able to book her for our October 2022 wedding. Our engagement shoot was so much fun! She helped us feel at ease and laughed away the evening with us as we learned how to get comfortable together in front of the camera. She was also willing to include our pup in the photos, which meant a lot to us! Her planning materials, blog and social media posts, and willingness to answer any questions throughout the process really helped to put my worries at ease. She reviewed our detailed timeline to ensure all of our priorities for photos were incorporated, and she offered great suggestions too. Day of she and her second shooter were an absolute dream team! It was a brisk and windy day, but they had smiles on their faces the entire time and were sure to capture every moment of our special day. We are so in love with our photos! The only advice I would leave for couples is to explicitly communicate any “must have” photos. She incorporated some photo inspiration ideas I had, but I failed to request a few photos that looking back would have been really amazing to have. For example, there’s not a portrait style photo of us both (bride and groom) looking directly at the camera; and there aren’t any photos of our parents as individual couples, just the family formals with us. This isn’t a ding on Winterlyn at all, just a piece of advice I’d offer to couples in the future. If you want a great photographer and smooth vendor experience, you cannot go wrong with Winterlyn! Highly recommend her!!

The day of the wedding, Winterlyn and her second shooter Monica were the ultimate professionals and made our family and friends feel at ease. It was amazing to see how well they were able to wrangle large groups with kids into a photo, while also getting those unposed shots that really tell a story. I was also stunned by how fast she turned around the gallery and the quality that she was able to achieve in such a short timeframe. This speaks to her passion for her craft. Our family and friends have all commented on how hard it will be for us to pick which photos we want to print because there are so many perfect options. We cannot thank Winterlyn enough for the imprint she had on this special day. It truly was a wonderful experience getting to work with her and I cannot recommend her enough.

photo tips. Our schedules were very busy, and she graciously understood when we had to change our engagement session a couple of times. The shoot was much more fun than we expected given her natural demeanor and guidance! We ended up booking a videographer for the wedding after the experience since we realized it could be fun to be on camera! Before the wedding, she scoped out our ceremony and reception venues with her second and made sure we had clear photo lists so no moment was missed. She talked us through different timelines to make sure we had the day (and pictures) we desired! She was so present throughout our twelve-hour day, excited about each new destination and photo opportunity! She made our family and wedding party comfortable and all the pictures were fantastic. As an added perk, she was incredibly efficient allowing us to spend precious moments with our loved ones. One of our favorite things about the experience was the blog post she wrote and published within seven days of our wedding. It was incredibly personalized to our day and made us quite emotional on our honeymoon! It was nice to be able to share the ~75 pictures with family and friends almost immediately after the big day when everyone was still thinking about the ceremony and dance floor! Winterlyn did an amazing job capturing the spirit of our day, and we are so happy she recommended to us!

Additionally, because of my quick engagement, I let my bridesmaids pick their own dresses only asking them to have a flower pattern.
