We had an absolutely amazing experience with WithinSodo as the venue for our wedding! The location is perfect if you're looking for that trendy industrial vibe. I loved the flexibility of being able to book different rooms to suit our needs. We booked the entire bottom floor, which worked out beautifully for our 100-person guest list. The space was more than enough, and although it doesn't seem like it would fit that many people when you first tour the venue, it really does. I highly recommend attending one of their open houses to get a better feel for how the space can be transformed!
Kate, the venue coordinator, was fantastic! She was incredibly friendly and so helpful throughout the entire planning process. She answered all of my questions, no matter how big or small, and made the lead-up to the wedding feel less stressful.
A couple of small cons to mention: the venue requires you to use their bar services, which are excellent but can get a bit pricey. Additionally, the bride and groom’s suite was a bit small, and with my four bridesmaids, we were cramped. I also wish we could have brought in décor the night before or earlier in the morning, as long as there wasn’t another event going on, but it wasn't a deal-breaker.
Overall, WithinSodo was a fantastic choice for our wedding. The space, staff, and overall experience were incredible, and I would absolutely recommend this venue to anyone looking for a beautiful, flexible location with a unique vibe.
We live in Seattle and wanted to get married in the city, and were drawn to industrial type venues. I think all in all we toured 15 venues across different Seattle neighborhoods and ended up choosing WithinSodo for it’s versatility in space, it’s already existing beauty (hint-budget brides- you really don’t need much additional decor unless you really want it), the welcoming staff, the easy kitchen for caterers, its size being large enough for our group but small enough to still feel intimate (we invited 200, 140 showed) and the opportunity to have some outdoor space on our wedding day. The energy in this venue is electric and we felt it each time we visited. While needing to use the in house bar at first felt like a con because it can be more expensive than doing it on your own-in the end became a pro as the ease of having everything taken care of by talented professionals (our drinks were amazing, the bar staff even worked with us to create a secret cocktail on the menu) was well worth it-and the cost was much lower than we expected given our friend group of happy drinkers. We loved everything about spending our wedding day at within Sodo from the ambiance and the slow reveal of different rooms in the space and especially the rooftop dance party and we’ll be forever grateful that we chose this space.
We can’t review WithinSodo without gushing about Kate, which feels truly evil because not everyone will get to work with her in the same capacity as we did. Kate is the venue representative but happened to be filling in for the on-site day of coordinator to plan and execute our wedding day while WithinSodo was going through a coordinator staffing change. We just have to elaborate on how lucky we feel to have been placed with Kate and how lucky you’ll be to have Kate play ANY part in your wedding day as part of the WS team. We were able to completely relax and enjoy our wedding day because Kate worked so hard and so efficiently leading up to it and the day of the wedding. Kate’s attention to detail got us thinking about aspects of our wedding day that we hadn’t even considered, and through the answers she gleaned from her thoughtful questions she knew exactly what was important to us and where we were flexible and not. She got to know us, our story, and our hopes for the day so well and by the time the wedding day came we trusted her without reservation to solve problems, make decisions, and execute the best night of our lives so that we could be present. As a wedding client you have unlimited virtual or in person walk-through sessions at the venue as you’re planning, and we found ourselves taking every opportunity not only to come see the space in person but to spend some time with Kate. Her professionalism is 10/10 but in a way that still leaves her completely approachable and fun to be around. Kate-we know that you moved mountains for us on and before our wedding day and we will never forget the love and care you gave to us. We just received a sneak peek of our wedding video and Kate makes a tiny appearance and our hearts bursted with joy when we saw this because she became so cherished in our wedding memories. While she was in the background making everything happen she was very much in the foreground of gifting us calmness, confidence, and reassurance on our wedding day.
As a vendor, we love working with WithinSodo!
We've had the pleasure of hosting several events at WithinSodo, and I cannot speak highly enough of the experience. The space itself is unique and cool, perfectly capturing the vibrant spirit of the Sodo district of Seattle with a rooftop capturing the skyline.
Working with Kate, the venue manager, and Sabrina, the venue coordinator, was an absolute delight. Their attentiveness and professionalism ensured that everything went smoothly from start to finish. The dedication and the seamless coordination with Sabrina made our events truly memorable. We have nothing but kind words to say about WithinSodo and their team, and we look forward to working with them again in the future.
Within Sodo was an amazing venue to have our wedding at! It so well designed that we didn't need to go all out with decorations since the interior is so beautiful! Everyone we worked with there were so nice and helpful and the day-of staff was so incredibly nice - all of our guests loved them!
WithinSodo was the first venue we looked at for our wedding, and it just felt right. We looked at others, but nothing compared in terms of either aesthetics or value. We loved working with them-- they responded promptly to all our questions, the bar options were very flexible, and it was easy to schedule venue visits as needed. Unlike other venues we looked at, their pricing was clear from the start and very affordable, without extra charges added on down the road. We also loved that they allowed open flames and wall fasteners, which many other venues did not. If you're considering an indoor wedding, WithinSodo is a don't miss!
WithinSodo was the perfect venue for our wedding. It's a beautiful venue with a city view from the rooftop to the exposed brick and cement floors on the downstairs floors. I love an industrial look and WithinSodo had what I was looking for visually. Also, not many wedding venues in the Seattle area give couples as much flexibility and freedom as WithinSodo gives. Bringing in our culture's food was a big deal, and Filipino food was not on any venues' preferred vendor list. WithinSodo allowed us to bring in a caterer (or any vendor) of our choosing. The venue also allows you to do what you want with the space. We had free range on what the rooms could be used for. The possibilities were endless.
Kate from WithinSodo was the best person to work with. She was kind and talked us through our visions. We loved that we could visit the venue multiple times to get a feel of what we were looking for. Kate was able to accommodate the majority of our asks, and if we weren't able to do something, she would work with us on alternative solutions.
I highly recommend booking WithinSodo!
Within Sodo is a wonderful wedding venue and I absolutely recommend the space for brides looking for a unique and beautiful location in the city. We absolutely loved the rooftop deck - one of the main reasons we chose the space! We used the roof for the ceremony and cocktail hour and used the two spaces that combined (and added the mirror room) for the rest of the reception (we had 115 people).
Kate was super helpful and super communicative throughout the process. We felt like she gave us great advice and the whole day really went off without a hitch. If you are looking for a uniquely beautiful space definitely check out Within Sodo. There are a lot of room configuration options so it is great option for all times of the year (although we are impartial to summer to utilize the deck!)
This was the perfect venue for our awesome day. The staff was wonderful and made all of our requests happen. We can not express how impressed we were with how the experience was. Thank you so much Within Sodo!
We recently got married at Within Sodo. The space is so unique and mixes modern with classic romantic building material. Our wedding was in August and despite there not being central air conditioning in the building it was not as issue AT ALL. I wouldn't worry about that. We had 75 guests attend and it was the most perfect size. We so enjoyed having the flexibility of all the different rooms which separated the space for the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception. Adam and Brian were both very fun to work with and helped us tailor our beverage package to fit our needs exactly. Highly recommend using them for bar-tending needs if getting married here. The only reason I am giving the review 4 stars was there was some concern of the cleanliness of the space, very very minor. As well as the address also dropped off guests in the rear of the building but this wasn't that big of a deal if you have someone to redirect them where they need to be. Once that was addressed everything turned out beautiful. Definitely check out the space!
The key benefit of this venue is flexibility. When we started our wedding planning process, one of our hard requirements was a venue that would allow any catering; not in-house, not a preferred list, but anything we wanted. It's harder to find than you might think! Within Sodo fit this criteria so we quickly set up a tour, and instantly loved it (and booked it! Like many venues, they book up FAST. We were lucky the date we wanted was one of the last available). It fit the vibe of a laid-back party wedding we wanted. It's really easy to make the space yours - dress it up, make it funky - it really lends itself to be molded. We worked with Brian through the booking process and then worked with Amy there on out through the day of. Amy was great to work with. We ended up going with food trucks for food, and Amy was helpful with communication between the food truck lead and our wedding coordinator to make sure everything was organized. One of our trucks was a bar truck, and Within Sodo had no problem with letting the bar truck park inside the venue (talk about a crowd pleaser!). They are also much more open to decorating how you want, as compared to some other venues that have super strict rules.
The only thing that I thought was a little bit odd, is that while you can pick any combination of spaces a Within Sodo you want, amenities are attached to the rental of certain spaces. For example, if you want the rooftop deck, you have the rent the space the has the stairs. If want want to use the kitchen, you have to rent the space that includes the kitchen, if you want the green rooms... etc etc. So you're kind of tied to renting certain spaces no matter what. However, it was great that while we initially rented the rooftop deck, the day of the wedding ended up being bad weather, and Amy easily let us swap the deck for the gallery room in the back.
If you want the freedom to make your day your own, and not dictated by your venue, I highly recommend Within Sodo!
I attended an event when Within Sodo opened a few years ago and I just knew that I would get married there. It had the perfect blend of quirk and industrial elements that my husband loves but was still enough of a blank canvas that you can tailor it to fit your vision. When my husband and I began the process of looking for a venue for our wedding, we checked out a few other venues but Within Sodo was perfect for what we wanted. We were even able to use the rooftop deck during our January wedding since they have a fire place and space heaters up there. Our guests loved going up to the roof to have a drink and take in the amazing views of the city. We loved that we were able to bring in our own vendors, food and alcohol… they even let us bring our black lab!!! (She was our flower girl/ring bearer). Brian, the manager, was super easy to work with. He allowed us to do a walk through with all of our vendors the month prior to our wedding, which was incredibly helpful to get everyone on the same page during the planning process.
Had my wedding here in August and I couldn't ask for a nicer place. What really sold us on this place is the rooftop deck. It was beautiful in summer with the sunset and the city in the back. Brian is very helpful. It can be a bit pricey, especially having to rent three rooms for the peak months but I would definitely recommend it if you have the budget for it. Or if you can do it off-peak season you can pick how many rooms which will lower the price. This place also has no corkage fee which was a big thing for us since we were bringing our own beer and wine. We had 80 people, but could have had had 120. We didn't do a formal sit down, we had a mix of cocktail tables, sit down tables and a lounge area with couches. The mix of brick and wood was a great back drop for the decor and pictures. So happy I had my wedding here.
Absolutely loved the space. We had about 160 people at our wedding so we had to get a little creative to make everyone fit but we really liked the set-up. I know that people felt like they weren't at the right place when they drove up (it can be a little confusing to people who don't know what to expect) but once inside, everyone loved it. It's unique and very Seattle. We had a slight issue with the sound system but I think that was more an issue with our DJ and how he set things up than the venue itself but I'm not sure. I would absolutely have another event here. Loved the space!
We absolutely loved our venue choice for our wedding last month. It was perfect for us! The deck was so popular with our guests and was the perfect spot for our first look and pictures! We booked it a year in advance and it turned out to be cheaper and nicer than our original choice of Georgetown Ballroom! The only downside is that the main contact for the venue was a bit of a grouch...difficult to get ahold of, never remembered our names, and generally just difficult to deal with. Our wedding planner was amazing and acted as our contact with him so I didn't deal with him much...but when I did he was unpleasant. Definitely wasn't an issue that was big enough to negatively impact our venue choice, just wanted to mention it! All in all, it was a beautiful venue and gave us a lot for our money!
Love love loved this venue. My husband chose WithinSodo while I was living in Australia so I only had photos to work with. I saw the venue a week before our wedding and it was even better than the pictures. WithinSodo is a fun and funky venue with a fantastic view of Seattle. As we had guests from Australia and Japan fly in for the event, having the Seattle skyline as our ceremony backdrop was just perfect.
Loved everything
I'm so glad we found Within Sodo. The space is really cool, architecturally, and the roof deck allowed us to enjoy the Seattle summer while still being minutes from downtown. Everyone loved it, and the view was amazing. The manager was easy to work with, and easy to get in touch with. My only complaints are 1) they wouldn't let us set up earlier in the day, all our time had to be continuous. I get it, but that resulted in husband and photographer rushing in to drop off/set up equipment, and then rushing away to get ready. An hour earlier in the day would have saved a lot of stress.
2) they could use another bathroom.
