Whatever you do - GET CARROT with CREAM CHEESE filling. It was THE BEST. They also did an awesome job with decorating the grooms cake! My husband is a former BG runner, so I had them make a track with the BGSU falcon in the middle. It looked awesome and the figurines I got of Etsy were both hilarious and perfect! The last cake we did was a kitchen cake because I was desperate to have a chocolate cake with chocolate frosting and raspberry filling. The caterer brought that out after we did the cake cutting and out of enough cake for 200 people we went home with about 20 slices (which we proceeded to eat the next day with family!). Wixey is a great bakery if you are looking for a simple and DELISH cake! Your guests will not be disappointed.

e the cake was very good, but we were unable to order a cake because we were so put off by the service. We were handed a piece of paper with prices and asked what we wanted. The woman gave us absolutely no direction...she just stared at us and told us that they couldn't do anything unless they received the deposit. I understand the necessity of a deposit, but to have that as the only information given was ridiculous! She then handed us a book of some cake pictures and told us to let her know when we were ready to give her our money and then walked away. We left without ordering anything! We then received a vm from the woman saying she didn't get our deposit so she would not hold our date...not "I'm sorry you left, is there anything else we can do for you." I would have loved to have my wedding cake done by Wixey's, but could not get beyond the horrible customer service.

They're honestly a bit difficult to reach at times, with the specific people you need to talk to only available at certain times, but I can't really fault them for that given that they're a small local business and incredibly popular/busy. Plus they were very communicative the day of. Overall, a good experience.

people who do the wedding cakes are only in the shop at certain times and they don't take appointments. I am from out of town and it was really hard to get in to meet with them. The day I finally did was around a holiday and they barely had any time to meet with me so my cake didn't look exactly as I had planned but it was very close. Ladies were super nice and it was great that they deliver the cake and it was another detail I didn't have to worry about. Taste was also great!

the cake was delicious, but the service was terrible. On the morning of my cake tasting (which I had called and made an appt for on a earlier date, I didn't just walk in...) I was treated not very well. On the morning of the cake tasting, I walked in, I wasn't even greeted when I came into the bakery. After about 10 minutes, my mother finally inquired as to what was going on, they handed us a box of cupcakes and fillings with no directions. After another 20 minutes my mother-in-law went to ask what was going on, and finally someone came over to consult with us, and treated us like we were bothering her with our questions. We were all a little taken back by the whole experience. We decided that maybe it was a fluke and that they were having a busy day, and decided to continue to use them. We had a very specific photo of the cake we wanted, in which we had showed at the cake tasting appt and emailed to bakery and they confirmed they could re-create. On the day of our wedding, the cake was delivered, and it looked pretty much nothing like the photo. Not to mention there was a half inch gap between the seond and third layer where the columns were showing, but didnt look like it was intentionally supposed to even be there (our photo showed the second and third layer setting flush). Thank goodness for the quick thinking of our caterer to fix that mess. The cake was good and at the end of the day people do just eat it, but if I am paying for a product, I expect the product I asked for. If it wasn't possible for the cake to be made the way we wanted, or using the type of frosting we wanted (buttercreme), this should be said from the beginning and I would have chose a different design. Overall, I was extremely disappointed with my experience with this company.

Our cake was delivered on time and looked GREAT! Everyone said it tasted great too! One neat thing is when you call to find out about wedding cakes they will make you samples of all the cakes and fillings they offer so you can taste them all together. Price was good, a little on the higher end of the places we called, but it was worth it.

our designed. They are the experts- not me. It was beyond amazing! I never understood how a cake could be "beautiful" but it took my breath away! It tasted absolutely wonderful! Our guests are still talking about it! A week later it tasted just as good as it did our wedding night- hoping it tastes just as good on our year anniversary! :)
