the mood and the atmosphere were everything we had hoped for. While some photographers seem to excel in one area more than others (e.g. people, spaces, table settings, landscapes), Nick seems to earn a perfect score on all counts. Equally important was the chemistry Nick established with us from the very beginning. We were surprised to have such a great raport, owing to his friendliness and personality, which we thought was critical to helping us relax. We very much enjoyed talking with Nick, both before and during the wedding, which made his work seem effortless. At the same time, Nick is very professional and on-time, and he inspires the confidence necessary not to have to worry about the details of his job with so much else going on. He was very thoughtful and paid attention to details, helping to arrange the visual field in a way that kept us looking our best. As a result, Nick required very little direction while on the job and was able to improvise with the setting in creative ways. We certainly recommend him as a photographer in the strongest terms.

o further. Working with Nick was an absolute joy, and the photos speak for themselves. He was super responsive by email and phone, and when he says the photos will be ready on a date, they’re ready on that date! One thing we noticed (after the fact) is that he’s a really unobtrusive photographer; he captured so many moments where we didn’t remember him being there. I also want to mention that his model for doing engagement+wedding photos is excellent because it gave us a chance to get to know one another before the wedding. And above and beyond all of that, Nick gave us a lot of great non-photography related wedding advice from having attended so many weddings (eg how to do the cake cutting), as well as great photography-related wedding advice (have a shot list and some designated wranglers for family photos). There's no other way to describe it except "magic." Nick is a wizard with the camera and a fantastic person to work with, and we'll definitely be back in touch next time we need pictures taken!

ed as though Nick had an ability to capture moments naturally. Other photographers’ work seemed too staged and posed for our preference. Nick’s pictures just seemed so real, and in the moment, as if he was actually capturing all these special moments... which is exactly why you hire a photographer, right? Nick encouraged us to join him on an engagement shoot so we could get to know each other. It didn’t take long to recognize we made a great decision. We went to one of our favorite hiking spots with our dogs, and Nick tagged along and took pictures. We got to know him, he got to know us, and a couple of weeks later we had some amazing photos that we absolutely loved. His ability to be comfortable, funny, and professional while simultaneously nailing all the pictures is very, very impressive. By the time the wedding came around, we were honestly excited to see him. If you have any reservations about being in front of the camera, or if you are dreading posing for picture after picture, Nick will put you at ease. You might even actually enjoy it, he’s that cool! If you’re looking for a great photographer who will capture all the moments, this is your guy. If you are looking for an artist to catch the unique shots and different angles, and make you look and feel awesome, this is your guy. Can’t go wrong. 10/10. Would recommend.

. As an architect I am pretty particular about pictures. I was so pleased with is professional work that he was a natural choice when I got engaged. Nick's personality is relaxed (helpful on a wedding day) but he will assert himself as a photographer when he needs to - which I really appreciated. For example, he really encouraged my fiancee and I to take engagement photos. I thought that since it was a second marriage for both of us it was unnecessary but what it did was give us time in front of Nick and his cameras to feel comfortable. It also gave us some great pictures!!! We did not want to have a lot of staged family pictures and that was one reason we chose Nick. He really does more of a documentary style. We did do the a few mandatory family shots for the parents - but our favorite family shot was right after the wedding ceremony! It captures the joy that everyone is feeling and is perfect! I didn't expect to be nervous but I was and as I was getting ready the wind really started to blow - bad for an outdoor wedding. Nick watched my energy change and said, "Don't worry Carrie, I put in a call and the wind will stop soon". He was very calming and the wind did die down - coincidence? One warning for you is that when you get your photos from Nick you will not be able to do anything else but look at them over and over again. The albums are very well curated by different parts of the wedding event - getting ready, first look, etc. The images far exceeded my expectations. I don't remember Nick being in the way at all or even have a consciousness of him being around snapping pictures. But he captured unbelievable moments from the start to finish. He is an absolute joy to work with and his talent comes through in every image.

He has an incredible talent to make you feel comfortable and like you can be yourself in front the camera. He was willing to go to multiple locations for our engagement photoshoot, and always checked in with us before moving to the next location to make sure we were satisfied with the shots he captured. The real magic in getting to work with Nick and have him document one of the most special days in your life, is that he will capture the true essence of each moment so you can look back and relive the excitement you felt being around all the people who love you the most. If you are planning a wedding, let me tell you this: when the day comes, it will come and go in a flash. One minute feels like 5 seconds, so you have to stay present to enjoy it. But, even with your best efforts, the day will go quickly and you can only soak up so much. While I think my wife and I did a good job enjoying and savoring each moment, the entire evening felt like it was over in 5 minutes and we couldn't help feel like we missed certain moments. Nick edited and put together a beautifully organized album for us in less than 30 days after our wedding. Being able to look through our beautifully categorized photos (from First Look, to Groomsmen, Bridesmaids, Ceremony, Cocktail hour and Reception), has allowed us to relive all the moments we spent years anticipating. Posed photos didn’t feel forced, and all his candid shots strategically executed. He captured every vibrant color, the raw emotion in each smile, kiss and hug. Trust me, you won’t be disappointed working with Nick. He is fairly priced, and delivers incredible value for the service and product he offers. I highly recommend you work with him. You won’t regret it, and you will have a beautiful album of amazing pictures to remind you of the best day of your life for years to come.

ch makes having your photo taken (when you normally avoid it) much more enjoyable and the photos turned out great. We have amazing candids AND more guided photos. Nick managed to nail every single one of my family portraits—and there were a lot of permutations. Besides the great photos and lovely rapport, Nick was a huge help for me because I was in a rush to get married (8 weeks of planning!) and he helped me get my DJ and my florist! He has a lot of experience in the wedding industry and is well-connected to and well-loved by other vendors. I appreciated Nick so much that I begged him for newborn photos. He is warm, funny, responsive and very reasonably priced. I really encourage anyone to have Nick photograph your life events and really anything else. I don’t plan on getting married again but if I did, I’d definitely call Nick to capture that too. :)

king out his website to make sure it matches what you're looking for, but the moment I saw his photos I called him up and had all the contracts finalized within an hour or two. Super quick and super nice! Our engagement shoot went super well also (comes with the wedding package). It was actually more of a pre-wedding, get to know each other shoot, but it was a great time and Nick was super flexible with when and where we wanted to shoot. He was really amazing throughout the process. On the wedding day itself, everything went perfectly, and Nick did a great job of being strict enough to make sure we got all the pictures he knew we'd want, but flexible enough to give us some time to socialize during happy hour as well. Great balance there! And then after the wedding, we actually asked for a few photos he sent over in black and white to be in color as well, and he did that for us without hesitation. Both the level of skill and service impressed us throughout, and I really couldn't recommend Nick and more highly. We're some happy with how everything turned out =)

We loved how he took time to get to know us even though we were planning from afar; for important convos we would use phone (not email) and he was super flexible in finding time to meet with us in person during the few times we were in California while planning our wedding, even squeezing in an engagement shoot during a holiday week. On the day of our wedding Nick was great- incredibly professional and present, but also able to blend in seamlessly to the crowd. He had no problem directing people where necessary to get the photos we wanted, but never wavered from his easygoing demeanor. Quite a few of our family members and guests went out of their way to tell us how great he was and a couple of people even asked if he was an old friend because he seemed to fit so naturally in the day. As the couple getting married, we spent quite a bit of time with Nick, and were so grateful we ended up with such a relatable and easygoing photographer. Neither of us loves getting photos taken and Nick put us at ease. And the photos are amazing! We loved Nick's ability to document many of the candid moments throughout the day with memorable photos and appreciate that even the more posed portraits look comfortable and natural. Nick's use of light and color are amazing, and we also loved his thoughtful use of black and white. We were also super impressed by the sheer number of amazing shots he delivered in less than a month during the height of wedding season. One of the best investments we made in our day, without a doubt, was deciding to work with Nick. We can't recommend him enough!

My husband and I walked away from our engagement shoot saying that was fun and couldn't wait for the big day. When it came to the big day, he was so much fun! Nick was not just a photographer, he was organizer, forward thinker, and friend. He made sure I ate and had water throughout the day. He took a bazillion pictures and we can wait to see them. We already know he did an amazing job! If you want an incredibly talented photographer that differs in style just a bit from that mainstream, dreamy romantic look (but can do that too) he is seriously your man!

otos with the wedding party before the ceremony, and he was very good at telling the group what to do without being overbearing or too forceful. He also was really flexible - we had one set of pictures we wanted to take that would only work if the weather was right, and he had no problem changing plans the day of depending on if those shots would work or not. During the ceremony and reception he was great, very unobtrusive and we honestly hardly noticed him and he still managed to get great pictures. Our wedding was about 75 people and Nick was the only photographer, and even without a second shooter he did a great job of getting all the shots we wanted. Many of our guests commented to us after the fact that they thought he was a great photographer, both based on interacting with him at the wedding and also on the pictures he took. He told us he would get digital copies of all the wedding pictures to us within 2 weeks of the wedding, and he actually got them to us faster than that.

d him to us. While looking through is portfolio on his website, I found myself crying because I was so touched by the moments he captured. My wife I live in Seattle and when we Skyped with Nick to “meet” him, we felt like we were hanging out with a friend rather than interviewing our wedding photographer. This was perfect for us, because while it was very important to have someone whose work we loved, it was also very important to us that our photographer was someone we felt we could be ourselves around. (We wanted pictures of US, after all, and we had to actually BE us in order to get that!) In the time leading up to the wedding, I was refreshed with how in touch Nick was without being intense or overwhelming. He even took us to brunch in the week leading up to the wedding to iron out final details (just our style)! When Nick arrived the day of the wedding, he was both professional and enthusiastic, and he maintained this demeanor for the whole eight hours we was shooting our wedding. He was a consistent, positive presence. He wasn’t obtrusive or too “there” and yet he was somehow always THERE. This was true for the getting-ready time, the ceremony, and our celebrations… but it was also true during our portraits, when he was both artistically directive and yet allowed us to relax and goof off and be ourselves, which resulted in some of my favorite photos. There was one especially notable moment when, before the ceremony, the outdoor grill we had going was pumping smoke into the sky just as the sun was beaming through the trees. I looked up to one of the coolest, unplanned effects I’d ever seen and immediately turned around, prepared to search for Nick to get a shot of it. When I turned around, however, I found that he was already there, probably 10 feet away from me, capturing the moment. You can’t interview for that kind of intuitive, sporadic presence for those unplanned moments, and I was so happy that this was something he was able to provide. Friends raved about him, during the wedding, in the days after, and especially after we received and shared our photos. I even had people who weren't there come up to me at gatherings at tell me how amazing the photos were. Our photos were delivered to us within the contracted 30 days, well-organized on a website and easily available for download in various sizes. We spent three hours looking through them in awe and essentially re-living our wedding, as well as leaning about moments we had no idea had happened! We cried and laughed… and I have goosebumps as I write this. I read a lot about not skimping on wedding photography and Nick was such a good investment…. and he didn’t even break the bank! In one vendor, our wedding was well-documented, beautifully captured, friends got portraits of themselves and their children, and we ended the whole thing with a new friend. Highly recommend!
