Macaulay put us at ease from the first time we met to discuss our wedding timeline. He understood our vision, communicated clearly, and captured beautiful natural moments from our day. We are so appreciative of his kindness and talent.

Macaulay was incredible to work with and took AMAZING photos! I cannot recommend Wood & Ether highly enough. Macaulay was super communicative, easy to work with, flexible, and a true pro. On our wedding day some ~surprise rain~ rolled through - our amazing photographers were able to improvise a new location for our first look and family/wedding party formal photos, keeping everyone calm and organized amidst some chaotic weather! (The rain luckily cleared by cocktail hour). He made us feel super comfortable during the portrait session too - he's just a really kind and down to earth person. We received ~50 "sneak peak" photos a week or so after the wedding, and received the full set of photos a little under two months after the wedding. It was a super quick turnaround!! I highly recommend choosing Wood & Ether to capture your wedding!

Macaulay is incredible! He is not only an extremely talented photographer, but also a lovely person to work with. He has a very calm and friendly demeanor that put both of us at ease throughout our wedding day and especially during our portrait shoot. Macaulay is a great listener and has such an awesome creative eye. He captured our venue, our guests, and us perfectly! So far we just have our "sneak peek" photos (which he got to us in just 5 days!) and we are already over the moon. I know we will treasure these photos and be transported back to our magical day each time we look through them. We couldn't recommend Macaulay more highly!

Macaulay was so wonderful to work with and the photos are beautiful! We loved his laid back style, and felt so comfortable having him share the quiet, special moments of our day. We had a small wedding in our back yard with our closest friends and family, and he captured the intimacy of the day perfectly. Our posed portraits are gorgeous, and just as importantly he artistically captured the unposed, candid moments of the day in a way that will help us remember each special moment. His photos are even a window into some of the moments we missed as we were spending time with other guests, so we discovered even more moments of joy during our wedding as we looked through our photo gallery. He was a joy to work with -- laid back, astute, and open minded. He was also a wonderful resource as we worked through planning, bringing his years of experience in the wedding business to our conversations and making helpful recommendations along the way.

As soon as I came across Macaulay's website, I knew I wanted him to be our wedding photographer! His photos have such a documentarian, raw, and emotional quality to them — and was exactly what I was looking for. From start to finish, Macaulay was a pleasure to work with. He met with us to get to know us as a couple, and was very professional and communicative. On our wedding day, he was relaxed and made us feel like we were shooting photos with a friend. He struck a perfect balance between letting us propose places around the venue photograph, but also had his own ideas to share with us. It was truly effortless. I was blown away by the beauty in our wedding photo album. The photos are everything and more. He captured so many intimate moments and all the details of our day. I will forever cherish our photos and would recommend him to anyone looking for timeless photos to last a lifetime.

My wedding photos were one of the most important things to me. I had no clue where to start though. Thankfully I found Wood & Ether on Instagram. Macaulay was absolutely wonderful from the start. From clear and immediate responses to beautiful photos. He was an absolute pleasure to work with. Words cannot express how happy I am with the whole experience. He was so easy to work with and made the photo taking process incredibly fun! I would have him do my wedding a million times over!

We couldn't be happier with our decision to have Macaulay shoot our wedding at Sleepy Hollow Inn in Huntington, VT! Macaulay has been extremely professional but also kind and compassionate throughout all our communication and interaction with him -- and that included a lot of shifts and changes between when we originally booked him back in 2019 and when we finally got to have our wedding this fall! He gave us valuable advice on our timeline and planning, and helped us pull off taking all our portraits and family photos before the ceremony. We also had a last minute issue with one of our closest family members not being able to come, and Macaulay ended up lending us mics to record the audio for our ceremony, -- truly going above and beyond his role as our photographer. Overall, we wanted a photographer who would capture the feel and emotion of our wedding day, and looking back through our final wedding photo gallery, Macaulay did an outstanding job of that. It's been especially fun getting to see how he captured not just all the big, scripted moments, but also all the little, intimate ones as well. We truly can't recommend working with Macaulay highly enough!

Wow. If you're lucky enough to book Macaulay you will not be disappointed. Not only is he professional, responsive, and an incredible artist, but he's also just a really good guy. Every interaction we had with Macaulay from our engagement shoot to the wedding day was 10 out of 10. We love our wedding photos. The album we got from Macaulay tells the story of our wedding day with sensitivity, humor, and humanity--and genuine beauty. We were looking for a photographer who was more interested in helping us capture memories and moments than in staging an elaborate, expensive photo shoot. We were excited by his portfolio and his documentary background and we could not have been more pleased with the authenticity, caliber, and range of the images we received. And he really was a joy to work with. Someone else in their reviews mentioned his ability to fit in-- he became so much a part of the feeling of community we had created for our weekend that we forgot he was taking pictures half the time and were delighted to discover some of the moments he had captured without us noticing. He really does have an impressive ability to be present, yet blend into the background so you forget the camera is on. We originally booked with Macaulay in the fall of 2019, thinking our Starksboro, Vermont wedding would be in August 2020. That didn't happen, but you know who stuck with us through thick and thin and two postponements? This guy. Macaulay was responsive, kind, practical, calm, and genuinely fun to work with and talk to in addition to being so skilled. We're so lucky we found him and so grateful for his artistry, professionalism, and genuineness.

This past June I had an event at a farm up the Hudson in Monroe, New York. Macaulay took amazing photos that perfectly captured and elevated the entire feel of the event and venue. He had great vision and direction for all the photos, was very fun to work with, and was a great addition to the party as a whole. Throughout the night he captured a ton of really great candid moments, I'm so glad I have such beautiful photos to look back on. Thank you again!

Due to COVID, our original wedding plans changed and even in our alternate plans, our original videographer decided to ghost us last minute. We were obviously very nervous that we may not even have a video to share with our friends and families who couldn't join due to international travel restrictions. Enter Macaulay @ Wood and Ether.. We found him with 10 days to go for our wedding and we were so lucky that he had our date open. He quickly arranged a call with us and asked us many questions about the event and our preferences. He worked with us to understand our schedule and budget, and provided us various options to meet our needs. We were quickly able to come to an understanding of doing a 4-hour ceremony video and film. He just knew what we were looking for, what we needed! When we realized that there will be all day thunderstorms on our wedding day, Macaulay offered to come a day before to take some aerial footages of the venue, understanding how important it was for us.!! During the wedding itself, it felt like he was part of our small group, at the same energy and excitement level as the rest of us. Due to the rain, we had multiple locations set up for the ceremony and Macaulay was quickly able to adapt to changing situations. Thinking about the wedding day activities can be stressful and it really helps to have a someone who not only adapts quickly to changes but offers their invaluable advice wherever needed.. it helped us plan better so many times!! Coming to the final wedding film: you really have to see the samples of his videos and photographs to see the quality in there. We really loved that he captured all of our toasts and vows, and integrated them as part of our wedding film. Our wedding film represents the love, joy, and energy from the day and we are so very grateful to Wood & Ether. He captured the essence of the day to the extent that our overseas family (who joined us virtually on the day) felt like they were transported back to that day, when they saw the video.. Thank you Macaulay! We recommend Wood & Ether highly for the tremendous support, ease-of-working, and the quality of the videos that Macaulay provided.

We couldn’t have asked for a better photographer! Macaulay was extremely professional and caring. He took the time before our wedding to find out exactly what kind of photos we wanted and even if there was any family tension he needed to be aware of. Our biggest want was not having to take time away from our day by posing for pictures. We ended up with beautiful natural moments that would have been missed if Macaulay hadn’t been so flexible. We love all the details and emotion he was able to capture. We highly recommended him!!

I can’t say enough good things about working with Macaulay Lerman for such a special day! When choosing a photographer for our wedding my partner and I really wanted to make sure we had someone who could capture great pictures while maintaining an intimate environment during our ceremony.
