My daughter had her wedding at Woodburn Historic House on 6.2.2018. An absolute fairy tale wedding with the beautiful carriage house serving as the backdrop for the ceremony (loud chirping/singing birds included) followed by the string lights reception on the lawn in front of the Woodburn Historic plantation house. A pleasure working with Roger Chapman who not only served as the wedding director but also as our florist. Gorgeous flowers for the entire wedding. Outstanding job! I cannot say enough about how easy it was to work with Roger. The only drawback is Woodburn relies on volunteers to upkeep the property and the night before the outdoor wedding a vicious storm caused tree limbs etc to fall. Roger and Jackie and another worked overtime plus cleaning up the property while also trying to get all the floral decorations out. The brides maid quarters could use an air conditioning unit. Quite hot on a humid June evening. If you can handle the stress of an outdoor wedding(worrying about the the weather), I would whole heartedly recommend Woodburn.
I loved the venue the first time I looked at it! It was just like I'd always imagined! They were so helpful in the planning and everything looked gorgeous! The only thing that I didn't completely like is that all you get is the location, nothing else is included. Just remember that going in because it did almost break my budget, but overall I highly suggest and it was gorgeous!!!
I found Woodburn when my original vendor fell through. It was even better than my original plan. They had volunteers on site to offer mini-tours of the house. Jackie worked with my reception coordinator, and I had no problems. When we arrived day of, it was perfect. Quiet, historic, lush, and perfect.
I looked at one venue and one venue only! I fell in love with this place the first time I was there and set my date right then. I could not have been more pleased. It was the perfect setting for the day. We had food on the porch, ceremony in front of the carriage house, and a tent for the seating. We also had a dance floor under the stars. It was just great and everything went so smooth with the Pendleton Historic Foundation.
I wanted a beautiful southern plantation and this was it perfectly. We had the food on the wrap around porch and the ceremony in front of the carriage house. It was GORGEOUS!
This is a beautiful venue, I fell in the love with it the first time we visited. This venue is a good value and all of the money goes for the up keep of this wonderful historic house. The volunteers are all very nice and helpful. It is important to use vendors who are familiar with this venue as there are some important rules for the safety of the house. I would recommend this venue for anyone brave enough to plan an out door wedding.
