About this vendor
Woodcliff Manor is a mansion welcoming weddings in the borough of Woodcliff Lake, NJ. This leafy suburb is renowned for its collection of historic buildings, of which the manor is amongst the most treasured. Couples will marvel at the stunning beauty of its grounds, whilst celebrating in the comfort of its lavish interior.
The Woodcliff Manor’s construction pre-dates the US civil war, and it is a lasting gem of early 19th-century American architecture. Throughout the years it has played many roles, from private residence to restaurant, until its adoption as a venue by the current owners in the 1970s. Guests are welcomed through antique beveled-glass doors to a setting for a modern celebration. The central event space, The Crystal Ballroom, offers couples a slice of old-world elegance, with its classic drapery and sparkling chandeliers. The wedding party can dance the night away on its large dance floor, or take a break from the proceedings in the smaller Garden Room. There are also multiple get-ready spaces for the wedding to avail of. Outside, the manor’s grounds offer a stunning location for a wedding in the sun and fresh air. Couples can say ‘I do’ under its pavilion with loved ones arranged on the manicured lawn.
Woodcliff Manor is a family-run business that offers those celebrating their big day a warm welcome. The staff presents a range of services with pride, including extensive catering options. Guests can enjoy a selection of dishes prepared by talented chefs, from hearty soups to delicately roasted sea bass. The catering team offers service in a number of styles, including seated and buffet, and can even organize a wedding cake. The extensive bar service available offers everything from a cool beer to a glass of sparkling wine for the after-dinner toasts. Everything couples need for an unforgettable night is here to avail of, including furniture rental, lighting, and a sound system.

Outdated and dirty. Attended a wedding and the chairs were dirty, toilets didn’t work. Stalls are very small and don’t lock. The place needs to be updated. I realize it’s a histori...
c building but it needs an overhaul in some areas. It’s been neglected. Food was good.
A huge thank you to the staff at the Woodcliff Manor. Today’s shower for my daughter, Brittany was perfect! The food, the drinks the service top notch. A very special shout out to...
David and Nancy for making this day a very special day to remember. I highly recommend this venue.
This venue was completely perfect. As someone who as been to weddings here as both a guest and now a bride I can say Woodcliff Manor is nothing short of enchanting. David was so e...
asy to work with. He painted a beautiful picture of pur day at the consultation and completely delivered. He listened to what was important to us for the event and made truly thoughtful suggestions as well. One thing I really liked was that all of the suggestions that he made were included in the budget we discussed. David really helped work out all of the little touches to make our event personal without trying to constantly upsell. Nancy did a great job with the food. To just say the pumpkin soup is amazing and an understatement. She also was great in accoomodating last minute diet changes for my father. I appreciated how she was able to make some adjustments so my dad could enjoy himself after almost not being able to come to the wedding. The day of the wedding ran so smoothly. The venue staff made the reception and the ceremony grounds beautiful. They worked with our other vendors really well. David coodinated with our DJ really well so the entrances and dance went smoothly. As with any big event a few surprises came up during the day and David always came to me with a solution rather than a problem. The whole day was wonderful and I am thankful that the day went so perfectly. David, Nancy, and their team helped my husband and I have the exact wedding day we wanted and went above and beyond to help us have a great memory.
David and the staff at Woodcliff Manor were VERY accommodating and professional and did a fantastic job with making sure the day went smoothly, which was great for this anxiety-rid...
den bride. Pricing is SO reasonable and the cocktail hour food was a hit! Hint: Spring for the raw bar if you're into that, it was so worth it! One thing to mention though is their reception space lighting cannot go fully dark for some reason and if your event is during daylight hours, a LOT of light comes thru the windows (an oversight of mine, not theirs) so between that and all the natural light, our uplighting and dynamic lighting didn't have the effect I had hoped for so if you're looking for a dark room-type of ambience, make sure you do your research!
David and his team did an amazing job catering to our needs on the day of the wedding. They took care of the setup and made sure everything went smoothly for both the ceremony and ...
reception. The food options were endless and it was all delicious!! The guests seemed to enjoy it very much! There was nothing that couldn’t be handled day of and we would definitely recommend them for a perfect wedding!!
Literally cannot say enough wonderful things about David & the staff at Woodcliff Manor. They made sure every single aspect of our wedding was perfect: from getting us through our ...
outside ceremony early minutes before a rainstorm hit, answering every one of my many questions and requests, accommodating every single one of our guests requests, and using the decorations we brought to make the venue look drop dead gorgeous for the event, they were just amazing. Our guests couldn’t stop raving about the service, food, ambiance, beautiful space and every other aspect of Woodcliff Manor. They even made us a specially requested s’mores bar!!!! David and his made sure we had the most perfect special day and we appreciate it so much. Now we’re just hoping to attend someone else’s wedding there so we can enjoy the cocktail hour without running around for photos! Thank you guys for a magical wedding!!
Not to be dramatic, but when I die, please spread my ashes at the Woodcliff Manor lol. This review is long overdue. I got married last October, and I cannot recommend the Woodcliff...
Manor enough. Everything was perfect. From the planning stages, David was so helpful in explaining the details and making everything seamless. As for the wedding, I have had many people tell me it was the best wedding they have ever been to. I cannot stress this enough, Nancy’s food is amazing and bountiful. Your guests will definitely not leave hungry. My guests raved about the food from the cocktail hour that many people thought was the actual dinner, especially the pumpkin soup with grilled cheese and the beef wellington. Everyone also loved the ice cream sundae bar at the end of the night. It was the little touches that made the wedding epic though. The staff was very attentive throughout the night and made sure everyone was taken care of. Gil and Dave made us feel like we were family. The outdoor ceremony space is beautiful and feels like a fairy garden. I love the colonial manor/doll-house type feel of the inside, and the twinkle lights in the outdoor cocktail hour space. I highly recommend doing a sparkler exit, it was magical. A couple that came to our wedding actually booked the Woodcliff Manor for their own wedding this November, because they fell in love with it at our wedding. Thank you so so much for an unforgettable day! Big hugs to everyone!
If I could give more than 5 stars I would. My husband and I had our wedding November 9th and everything was perfect! Our friends and family haven't stopped raving about the beauti...
ful venue and the delicious food. David was so easy to work with and made our entire planning experience stress free. I would recommend this venue to anyone.
The staff was awesome and so was the food! The venue has a warm feel and the gardens are spectacular!
I cannot say enough about David and team at Woodcliff Manor. Our wedding exceeded all our expectations. Every little detail was PERFECT. Guests were raving about the venue and the ...
food. It was the most perfect night. I do not know why anyone would get married any where else! David went out of his way to make sure everything went smoothly. He even was so kind as to get us French Macaroons for our dessert table. Top notch - service, food, and booze. Multiple people told us it was the best wedding they've ever been to (and they weren't just saying that!)
I can’t say enough good things about Woodcliff Manor. It is a family owned business, and it is truly a labor of love for Gil, Nancy and David. This love is self-evident in every li...
ttle aspect and detail of the venue and all the services they provide. Among the many hats that Gil wears, is maintaining the grounds. The property is absolutely stunning, and the gardens are verdant and immaculately kept. There is a beautiful fountain, flowering vines, and evergreen trees all over. David will likely be your main point of contact with the venue, and he is eternally helpful and accommodating. He is also extremely thoughtful, patient, laid back, and easy to work with. For example, we had a child-friendly wedding, and he thoughtfully offered to provide simple buffet food for the children who may snack all day but not sit for an entire meal. And the food! Nancy is the woman to thank for that! The many reviews commenting on the food are not exaggerated. Rarely do you find quantity and quality! But here you do. My family is Italian and values a well-made meal so we chose this venue because of the food reviews. The Alfredo is made with real cream, the meats are juicy, not dry. All of the butler appetizers leave the kitchen piping hot and whenever a guest asks for more, they reappear! I have heard nothing but wonderful things from guests about the cocktail hour. The dinner and desserts are just as wonderful- the cookies are moist, not dry. My husband and I were so busy entertaining guests that we hardly had time to eat, and David thoughtfully packed us dinners for us to go so we wouldn’t feel hungry that evening. Nancy, Gil, and David take an immense amount of pride in what they do. It is a pleasure to give my business to people who love their business. Woodcliff manor is the best-kept secret of New Jersey! I hope to return one day as a guest at another wedding! You will not regret booking an event with them. If you don’t believe me, visit the venue, meet David and go to a food tasting- you’ll see for yourself!
We held our wedding the beginning of April when Mother Nature couldn't figure out what weather she wanted to give us. We originally wanted an outdoor wedding, but due to wet ground...
s and colder temperatures, we decided to do an indoor ceremony. Honestly, it could not have been more amazing. David and his team REALLY beautified the reception area into the most amazing ceremony space we could possibly imagine. And then the transformation from ceremony to reception was incredible as well! Everything was beautiful.
David and his team were very responsive to us during our wedding and made sure we were updated and fed throughout the entire wedding. I cannot stress enough how important it was they fed us because as the couple, eating and any other basic human function will be impossible the day of your wedding. The entire team was very accommodating with the last minute wedding bumps.
But preceeding the wedding day, David was very communicative with us throughout the entire planning process. He was easy to reach and always responded within 24 hours. We were living in Virginia at the time, so you could imagine the difficulty with planning a wedding many states away, but David made it all so simple and stress free.
I honestly cannot recommend Woodcliff Manor and its team enough! The entire venue has a quaint, homey, colonial, romantic atmosphere. You cannot go wrong with Woodcliff Manor for your wedding (or any event for that matter)!
If given more writing space, I could go on and on about the amazing experience we had with Woodcliff Manor!
A million thank yous to David, Gil, and their team! If we had to do it all over again, we would do it at Woodcliff Manor every time. =)
A truly truly wonderful experience. Woodcliff Manor not only made it easy to plan for the wedding, they went above and beyond and took care of things we didn't even think of. The p...
repared the ceremony for both outdoor and indoor. Due to weather we had to do an indoor ceremony (not quite like we wanted), HOWEVER, the wedding ended up being GORGEOUS indoors. The staff at Woodcliff meticulously decorated their venue and worked with us every step of the way. We felt very relieved to have Dave and Gil helping us they we masterminds at putting the vent together. The way they were able to turn area we had our ceremony to the reception while we were at cocktail hour really speaks wonders to their logistical ability. I would highly recommend anyone who is looking to host a wedding party to contact Woodcliff Manor as we could not have found a better place to have ours.
David and his team went above and beyond to make our day the perfect fairytale I always wanted. From the initial walk through of the venue to the last dance we couldn’t have asked ...
for better!
There is not a higher recommendation I could give for anyone looking for a venue than Woodcliff Manor, especially in the GEM they have with David, their manager. Like any wedding d...
ay, mine didn't go smoothly, but David was an absolute ace in getting everything back on the right foot. My florist only delivered 2 bridesmaids bouquets, instead of the 4 I ordered. My bridesmaid went to call them, but David was already on it before I could blink. He sorted it all out and by some magic even got them to bring the missing 2 they initially said they couldn't get to me in time.
Not only was I beyond impressed with David and his staff, but all my guests were, too. I got so many comments from family and friends about the amazing food and wonderful service and staff. Insider tip: Pick the Harvest Chicken for your menu selection. It was by far the most popular item at our wedding, even over the salmon and beef options.
I could not more highly recommend Woodcliff Manor for your wedding or other event. The bakery they work with is first class, as well. Between their food, service, amicability, and their manager David, you can't go wrong.
To David and the Manor staff: thank you for a beautiful day. Top marks across the board.
We cannot say enough great things about this venue. Our day was beautiful. Such a beautiful location, beautiful grounds, perfect linens. There wasn't a need for us to prepare too ...
many decorations because the WCM alone is so beautiful, especially for the fall season. Our guests cannot stop talking about the food! Everything was delicious from cocktail hour, entrees, and dessert. The staff was amazing and so accommodating to every need!
We had our wedding at the Woodcliff Manor on 7/15/17 and we have not stopped getting compliments from family and friends about how amazing it was. The Woodcliff Manor is such an in...
timate and wonderful place. The staff really makes you feel like you're part of the family. Working with David, Nancy, and Gil was probably my favorite part of wedding planning. They are consummate professionals who go above and beyond to make sure that your day is exactly what you want it to be.
The food-I have no words to describe how incredible the food is!
At one point during cocktail hour I was trying to eat one handed (like you do when you're the bride) and Gil came up and took my plate and cut my turkey in to manageable bites so I could eat and mingle. David made sure my husband and I had cold drinks after the ceremony because it was hot out. It really doesn't get more personal than that.
Have your wedding at Woodcliff Manor (and invite us so we can go back)
I wanted to leave a positive review based on the experience I had when visiting this venue to potentially have my wedding there. The family that runs the manor could not have been ...
nicer and were willing to go above and beyond. Although I ultimately decided to go with a different wedding venue, I am confident I would have had a beautiful wedding at Woodcliff Manor.

e outdoor garden area for the ceremony is absolutely beautiful with a gazebo, fountain, and bridge. In case of rain, the staff at the manor is ready to go with an indoor ceremony option too.. which luckily wasn't needed for my wedding. The food is delicious... both at the cocktail hour and dinner. Even before the night ended, guests were coming up to me to tell me how stuffed they were and how delicious the food was. David was very helpful and attentive throughout the planning process. Since the manor already has beautiful decor (most table pieces, etc can be removed at your wish), catering, linens/cutlery, and cake (made by A Little Cake), planning was really laid back for us! We just brought in 3 small boxes of decorations, though you are definitely free to bring as much as you like. David also cued the bridal party to walk down the ceremony, down to the reception room, and coordinated with the DJ the day of. Everyone here really knows their stuff to make your event go as smoothly as possible! Also, while the bridal party stayed after to take more pictures, the staff came out to bring us passed appetizers and drinks the guests were enjoying inside during cocktail hour. They really do think of everything! Woodcliff Manor is perfect for a cozy and comfortable wedding! My husband and I are not really into marble halls or more generic type wedding event places. Woodcliff Manor is unique, intimate, and personal. I cannot recommend the manor and everyone there enough. Thank you all so much for making my day so special and wonderful!
The venue was perfect, David did an excellent job with our vision and what we wanted for our dream reception! Worked out every detail with us and the food was the BEST food... We'v...
e been craving the salmon and steak, mashed potato bar, for over a week now!! We hope to have another party there in the future because everything went perfectly!!! Thank you for the BEST day!! And a night that many are saying was 1 of the best weddings they've been too!
We recently had a repast meal at the Woodcliff Manor and Gil, Dave, and Nancy were fantastic. This is a warm and inviting family-owned business. We couldn't give a headcount becau...
se we didn't know how many people were going to attend the memorial talk, and they were so kind and accommodating. They had the fireplaces on and the room was just perfect for this type of event. It reminded us of a b&b or old mansion. The food was very good and they even offered a carving station, as well as beer and wine at the bar. We got to take our time and reminisce and they didn't rush us. We ended up having 150 people and there was plenty of food. We had a buffet of eggplant rollatini, chicken franchese, clams casino, fried calamari, ginger salmon, penne vodka, and a meat carving station of ham and beef. Included was salad, cheese and fruit platter, bread, coffee, tea, cookies. They also provided a television to play a slideshow of our beloved dad. We definitely recommend this family owned restaurant!
We got married at Woodcliff Manor a few weeks ago, and we could not have made a better choice for our wedding. The venue and grounds are beautiful and intimate, with an old-fashion...
ed, slightly whimsical charm that you won't find at many venues in northern New Jersey. The food is delicious; all of our guests were raving about how much they enjoyed everything. David was awesome to work with during the planning; he was friendly and professional and kept the entire process drama free. Our wedding was a beautiful, unforgettable day, and I'll be forever grateful that Woodcliff Manor worked with us to make it so.
Before my now husband and I walked into Woodcliff Manor, we were pretty set on some wedding factory that had given us a decent price and just seemed all-around reasonable. I've ne...
ver been a particularly fussy girl, so I figured that the "aha" moment people talk about wasn't really a thing.
Then we pulled up to the manor and my heart just... dropped. I didn't even know what I'd been thinking before. This was it. Beautiful, old-school charm, privacy, this amazing magnolia vine that climbs up the entire building and spreads out over this tiny terrace to make you feel like you're inside when you're standing outside. The outdoor ceremony site is just so beautiful, and we did absolutely zero decorating. None. The venue supplies all of it. Aside from table decorations, everything else came from them.
The place is family owned and my god do they bend over backwards. Dave was so wonderful. I would stop by unannounced with random family members and he'd drop everything with a smile to show us around. Every phone call and email was answered immediately, and every off-beat request was responded to with a "Sure, whatever you want!" Pies instead of wedding cake? Sure! That turned out awesome, by the way.
Now let's get to the food. People would not stop raving about the food. The amount of food you get for the price is astounding. We actually chose to limit some of courses because it was just too much, and everything was so delicious. I am actually ashamed at how much I managed to shove into my face considering how little time I had to sit. Oh, which brings me to another point! Right after the ceremony, all the waiters made a beeline to my husband and I and took our drink orders. While we were standing at the ceremony greeting guests. Oh my god. It was so great. Between photos with family members, I was stopping to grab all the food that was offered me. It's like they just knew how badly we needed to eat after the past eight hours of photos, photos, photos.
I cannot possibly stress enough how wonderful Woodcliff Manor is. I really can't. Dave, if you're reading this THANK YOU! Everything went off without a hitch because you kept it all going when we were confused or tired or distracted, and we know that it's all thanks to you and your crew! There are at least five or six of your waitstaff I want to personally thank for keeping me fed and with a beer in my hand while I was going crazy trying to get my dress bustled. There are family members who almost never smile who were out there on the dance floor breaking it down so violently I actually think there may be some physical damage. I've heard so many wedding horror stories that I actually never thought it could be so painless.
So please, all you nervous wives-to-be. Do yourself a favor and go check this place out. You will NOT regret it!

o discuss anything we needed. The Manor itself was beautiful, the service was top notch, and all our guests were raving about the food.
We truly felt they went above and beyond. For example, while we were taking family pictures, they had servers coming out with hors d'oeuvres to make sure we didn't miss out on everything. If we could go back in time, we would surely pick Woodcliff Manor all over again.

They were very responsive with us and very accommodating. They worked within our our budget and helped us pick a suitable date. We planned the entire wedding within 6 months with a guestlist of 150-180. The months leading up to the wedding were smooth with the Manor. They never told us "no" with any of our requests. If we had an idea they didn't think would work, they offered us alternative suggestions that were more practical without forsaking any of the effect that we were going for. We had a lot of décor and Gil assisted with bringing everything in and organizing it. They ensured everything was set up as we wanted and everything looked perfect the day of.
The food was amazing! Our guests could not stop talking about how delicious everything was and how much food was offered in the cocktail hour. A few of our guests actually stopped eating during the cocktail hour because they were expecting dinner to be amazing and didn't want to miss out on that. Everything was cooked perfectly. And the wait staff were very attentive to all of our guests.
Dave was great with organizing and running everything the entire day. He worked with our photographer & DJ & took care of everything. We didnt have to worry about a thing and everything went off without a hitch. Many of our guests said that we could not have picked a better place.
Planning a wedding, especially in 6 months, can be very stressful. But Dave and Gil really helped relieve a lot of stress by being so hands on and attentive to our desires. We did not feel like we were "just another wedding.". They knew who we were when we called, knew all of the details of our wedding without having to constantly ask about things or remind them. At one point they were even reminding me of little details I had forgotten.
The only real draw back we had experienced was that the bridal suite was so small. We had 9 bridesmaids so getting ready at the venue was simply not an option for us. But we stayed at the Marriot just 10 minutes away and had no further issues with that. The room was enough space for us to gather in before the ceremony. & if you have a small bridal party (2-3 girls), it probably is not an issue to get ready in that space.
Another slight drawback is their website. It needs to be updated. We nearly didn't visit the manor at all because of their website but something about them drew us in. We were looking for a venue that was not just some big ballroom. We decided just to check it out since it was on the way to another venue. As soon as we drove in, we were in love with the building. It was very cozy and had this natural beauty that we thought was perfect for our winter wedding. Stepping inside and seeing the beautiful bar and the fire places around the main room, we knew this venue was a contender. But once we sat with Dave and actually started discussing details, we were absolutely sold.
Our wedding was a perfect day and a memory I will always love. If you are looking for a building with some character and a place that will truly be attentive to you, the Manor is definitely worth checking out. We sincerely hope you have as wonderful as an experience
I am taking the time to write a review when I usually wouldn't in most circumstances. The Woodcliff Manor held an outstanding wedding for our friends on Sunday January 18th, 2015....
The service was polished yet warm and friendly in a way that only a truly seasoned staff can deliver. All of the food was delicious from the passed h'orduevres at the cocktail hour to the entrees and the dessert table. The bar service was efficient and friendly and guests were never kept waiting for drinks.
The proprietors Nancy and Gil Reynolds and family spared no effort to to make the wedding party and all of the guests feel welcome and comfortable in a confident and gracious manner. I would wholeheartedly recommend this venue to anyone in North Jersey.
Absolutely wonderful!! I cannot recommend the Woodcliff Manor enough. Dave, the manager, was amazingly attentive and accommodating throughout the whole entire process answering any...
and all questions when they came up. Gil is just so pleasant, and Nancy makes the most AMAZING food. They made our night exceptional and all of our guests said it was one of the best weddings they have ever been to. Dave convinced me to have the ceremony outdoors although it was a bit chilly out, and I am SO happy he did. It was just so beautiful. The decor of the place is just so cozy and elegant, there's no where else like it. Everything went so smoothyl, thanks to Dave! And the food...oh, the food! It is just out of this world. The spread they have during the cocktail hour is to die for - people couldn't believe there was more deliciousness to come! Everything was just perfect and I cannot thank Dave, Gil, Nancy and the rest of the staff for making our wedding so memorable and so much fun. I highly recommend the Woodcliff Manor for all weddings or any event! They will make your event unforgettable!
The Woodcliff Manor in Woodcliff Lake, NJ make our wedding day the most relaxing, most beautiful day this October. From day one, all of our questions were answered in a timely fas...
hion, the staff was willing to make adjustments to menu and drink selections, and even helped us spruce up our wedding cake with some extra chocolates!
We had a Saturday afternoon wedding in our church and took pictures in the garden at Woodcliff Manor. The gardens were gorgeously decorated in fall colors, the gazebo added a beautiful touch to our photos. Then we walked into a cocktail hour overflowing with food and drinks. The Maitre D' David made sure we got everything we wanted (including double portions of the best pumpkin soup around!) The staff took extra special care of myself and the groom. Dinner was superb and served in a very timely fashion so our guests could get out on the dance floor quickly!
From the moment we walked through the doors, David took care of everything, I didn't have to ask when we'd cut the cake, where to line up for introductions, or when dessert would start. The entire staff was courteous and were happy to provide whatever we wished for our special day. I'd recommend this venue to anyone wishing for a cozy, more rustic feeling reception hall.
I had contacted a few venues prior to visiting Woodcliff Manor but once I saw the location I knew I found my venue. The inside was cozy without being either too large or small. T...
he outside gardens and patio area are beautiful. My pictures came out amazing! The food was excellent, people are still raving about the cocktail hour (specifically the chicken wings and potato pancakes) and the entrees. I had the Chateaubriand, ginger crusted salmon, and Chicken Francese as choices. The chateaubriand was phenomenal and everyone who had the salmon and chicken said it was excellent. My relatives are all about the open bar and the service and selection was excellent. I was in contact with Dave mostly and he was always professional and accommodating. I cannot say enough good things about the Woodcliff Manor. My wedding day was one of the best days of my life.
The pictures do not do this place justice. You have to see it for yourself to appreciate the unique charm it offers. We had first met with David for a consultation and he helped ...
explain what their wedding package included. We were impressed with the wide selection of food offered during the cocktail hour and when we went for a food tasting, we were blown away by how delicious they all tasted. The outside ceremony is decorated beautifully with various spot for pictures. All our guests loved how cozy the place felt and raved about the food. David was very accommodating with all our requests and made sure we were satisfied. We highly recommend Woodcliff Manor if you are looking for a venue that stands apart from the rest.
I had my wedding ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception here and everything was great!! They were extremely accommodating and the staff is very friendly and helpful!!!
I loved the manor as soon as I walked in but what made it truly amazing were the people who own and run the place. They were very accommodating to ALL of our requests, from letting...
us decorate a day before to even taking pictures the day of! The food is amazing, loved the cocktail hour! Was treated like family and will never forget Gil, Nancy and David! My friends and family are still talking about the food, the bar selection and the great time they had! Highly recommend!

on and is there for every minor detail that there is.
We got married on the property and the decorations on the gazebo were amazing. They really take the time to make sure everything is perfect.
I only hope someday we will be a guest at a party there to enjoy it all over again.
The Woodcliff Manor is so gorgeous that I fell in love with it immediately when I visited, after having been to at least 4 other places. The outdoor garden looks like a scene from ...
a Jane Austin novel set in the English countryside. The website photos don't really do it justice. And it is groomed personally by Gil, one of the owners. My main contact was David; and he worked with us to customize the wedding details to our liking. David was also very patient with us when we needed to come back for an additional food tasting so that our parents could preview the menu. We even wanted to tweak the salmon dish a little and they agreed! On the wedding day, we had the entire venue to ourselves. We were hoping to hold the ceremony in the garden area, but it rained all day non-stop :( Even then, David and Gil were on standby to set up outside in case it stopped raining. As a contingency, they set up ceremony seating and an altar inside the manor; and it was beautiful and seamless nonetheless. By the time the night was over, we had forgotten it was raining! Two and a half months later, my friends and family are still raving about the food. Woodcliff Manor really does it right when it comes to service. No request was too much. Overall, the price was right, the space is gorgeous and the location is easy to access (there's an NJ transit train station 2 blocks away). We plan to return to Woodcliff for our anniversary just to enjoy the food, service and scenery all over again.
I can not say enough about how amazing this venue was! First of all it is beautiful and not your typical "wedding banquet/wedding factory" type place. The grounds are fantastic ...
with gardens, a gazebo and lots of photo op areas. Especially perfect for an outdoor wedding!! We had a rainy wedding day but so badly wanted our ceremony outside. david and Gil were working like crazy to make sure we had an alternate indoor space set up just in case but also prepared the outdoor area as well and worked with us up until the last minute to get the ceremony outside in between rain showers! Everyone LOVEd the food and thought the service was great. I would give them 100 stars if I could!!

e the cookie cutter wedding venues know what they are doing, we wanted the place to feel personable and special. The Woodcliff Manor did both, we were the only wedding on that day and from start to finish felt like we were number one. Everything was amazing, from the grounds, the staff all the way to the outstanding food. I will and have recommended to all of my friends. David & Staff were awesome!
Not only was the venue extremely affordable, but we were catered to, start to finish. People are still talking about the decor, the service, and more importantly, the food! No on...
e left hungry or unsatisfied. The staff made the most of the cocktail hour by offering trays to the bridal party while on line to greet our guests. My 3 year old daughter was even catered to, and offered an unlimited supply of milk and cookies. I would recommend the Woodcliff Manor and Dave for any event
My parents got married at the Woodcliff Manor, so I was slightly hesitant to have my own wedding reception there. After visiting the grounds and meeting with David though, my fianc...
e and I knew this was the place for us. Everyone at the Woodcliff Manor was so helpful and accommodating throughout the entire planning process, and my guests could not stop raving about the food and service at our reception. The gardens were a beautiful backdrop for our amazing pictures, and my now-husband and I could not have been happier with our wedding reception and the Woodcliff Manor.
Very pleased with this decision. We picked it from a magazine as our first choice and stuck with it! We were very happy with the staff and suggestions and the food and atmosphere! ...
From day 1 we were not let down!
We had an amazing wedding at Woodcliff Manor. We worked with David, mostly, and he made sure I had nothing to worry about. The food was excellent, the service was suburb. The decor...
is a little dated and old-fashioned, but I loved it. But if you are really into ultra-modern, this is not the place for you. The amount of food that you get for the per person price is unreal. All of our guests RAVED about the food. My only caution is that they are so laid back at Woodcliff Manor, that sometimes, leading up to the wedding, it seemed like they weren't on top of things. But they always were - it's just not the cookie-cutter service package you'd get at a Northern NJ Wedding factory - everything is tailored to what you want. We didn't have many weird special requests, but I'm sure they would have accommodated. We did not do our ceremony on site, but they have lovely grounds (great for photos) and a gazebo for ceremonies. Would definitely recommend!
This was the first venue my Fiance and I visited. It was so run down and outdated. The photos of the ceremony site were actually Photoshopped to include a green meadow instead of...
the parking lot that actually existing next to the ceremony site.
I would not recommend this venue to anyone looking to have a remotely classy wedding.
I actually teared up as we left this venue thinking, "What if this is all we can afford on our budget?"
Luckily the next venue we visited was in the same price range and well kept!
One of the best decisions my husband and I made was choosing Woodcliff Manor to hold our wedding reception on 10/16/10. Not only were they the most reasonably priced, they were th...
e most accommodating and wonderful people to work with! We were looking for a place that wasn't a typical banquet hall, that could be "ours", and we found that and so much more here. The grounds are beautiful and the Manor is big and cozy. Our guests complimented that they felt like they were celebrating at someone's home and that it was so welcoming. Not only is the atmosphere warm and welcoming, the food is incredible! People were floored by the amount of food at our cocktail hour.
David, whom we worked with for the entire year up to our wedding, is fantastic. He, along with head chef Nancy and owner Gil, made our wedding day the most amazing day of our lives. Anything we wanted or thought would be a nice idea, they made it happen. David was available by phone or email, and always responded to me immediately with great input or ideas. Just to give an example, I really wanted to have pumpkin soup shots during the cocktail hour for our guests, David helped me come up with the idea and was more than happy to make this happen. He even told us that the soup is Nancy's speciality (I can see why now, it's the most fantastic thing I have ever tasted!) 3 Days before the wedding, he told us he had an idea to add a mini grilled cheese sandwich to the dish and if that would be ok. Let me tell you, that was the hit of the night! People were so wow'ed by it, we still hear about how great it was! People were running up to us to tell us that they didn't even like pumpkin soup until they had this soup and that the grilled cheese was out-of-this-world! Our bridal party actually stopped taking pictures to give us and the photographer "soup time" to enjoy it. It was fabulous! All because David cared about our wedding and the details of it! There are a million other examples of how wonderful David and the entire Woodcliff Manor family are and how they tend to each detail of your day to make it spectacular, but you need to meet with them and discover them for yourself! Weddings can be so expensive and impersonal...some places are like "wedding factories" that crank out 10 weddings a day, but at Woodcliff Manor, you are the most important people there and they make sure you know it! I can't say enough wonderful things about them. Thank you so much David, Gil, and Nancy! P.S. I miss that soup already!!
We instantly fell in love with the charm and rustic elegance of Woodcliff Manor. Little did we know, how positively wonderful our entire wedding experience would be. EVERYTHING exc...
eeded our already high expectations and our guests could not stop talking about the impeccable service, amazing cocktail hour (impressive array as well as delicious!), and superb dinner.
David, the manager, was an absolute pleasure to work with - extremely accommodating, as well as overly patient (we brides aren't easy!) and helpful with ideas and offering suggestions at every turn.
The night was nothing short of magical. The entire wedding party received royal treatment, including drink service and “first dibs” on the delectable hand-passed hors d'oeuvres, while taking pictures in the beautiful gardens. One thing I was told by many friends is that you never get to eat at your own wedding. David and his attentive staff ensured that "the bride and groom" ate their dinner! As we went around greeting the guests at their tables, the staff asked us when we thought we would be sitting down, so we would even be served a hot meal! My family and friends are still raving about Woodcliff Manor! My husband and I hope we may have the opportunity to be a guest at someone else’s wedding there so we can enjoy it all over again!
I got married here on October 1st. It poured the entire day and cleared up just in time for the wedding. Just as David had ensured me that I could have my wedding outside even if...
there was a small break in the rain he held up his end. It was beautiful and picturesque. Even though we had to make small changes in plans.
Gil on the other hand was not my favorite person to deal with. HE didn't want to put chairs out for my guests but of course we eventually came to a compromise. Every time I called the manor in the 2 years leading up to my wedding Gil had no idea who I was. To a bride, when you have some of our money PRETEND you know who we are. After the wedding I was told by a few of my guests that he had been rude to them, which I am not surprised.
Do not let my experience with Gil discourage you from using the manor because everything else about it is top notch. David is truly one of the best people I have ever met. He answered every question and granted every strange request. I wanted to cut two courses from dinner and serve cake first...David gave us the green light! We wanted little grilled cheese sandwiches and David gave us the green light. After expressing some of my concerns with David in regards to my negative experiences with Gil, he gave me his cellphone number so I could directly deal with him.
Nancy, Gil's wife, does all of the cooking and she is AMAZING. She was able to make everything for everyone's special requests (allergies and such). She is an amazing cook. Everyone is still raving about the food.
The staff is wonderful and happy and we loved them all.
Overall the Woodcliff Manor was the perfect place for our wedding. It was large enough to accommodate all of my guests yet small and intimate enough not to feel like a wedding factory. I was the only bride there and they made my day super special. I think they are perfect. I drove an hour and a half to have my wedding there and it was well worth it. I look forward to having other events there in the future.
I had my wedding here in October 2010. I have lived in North Jersey my whole life and the Woodcliff Manor is a little gem. The staff was very professional and amazing! David the Ca...
tering Manager was there to answer every question I had. He was great! In regards to the food, it was AMAZING! My guests are still raving about the food. If you are looking for a great event this is where I would go.
