I hired Melanie for floral, decor and day of coordination services and she did an AMAZING job making my vision come to life!! When I started my wedding planning journey, I wasn't so sure about many details. Melanie helped me put all of the pieces together (both big and small). She spent a significant amount of time working with me and helping me to make smart decisions that also gave me the biggest bang for my buck when it came to my floral/decor budget. I am honestly FLOORED at not only how on point my florals/decor came out vs. my inspo photos, but I actually think that mine came out better!! My sweetheart table was unbelievable (please check out the photos I've posted)! I'm so glad I didn't purchase anything extra for it because it was so stunning the way Melanie designed it! All in all I owe a great amount of gratitude to Melanie for making my wedding look and feel the way I can only have dreamed of!! Melanie was our month-of-coordinator and florist. She was incredibly responsive to all emails and listened to the vision we had for our wedding. Melanie created a floral proposal that included all the flowers I sent her photos of and then, when one of the flowers wasn’t suited best for the hot weather we experienced, she proposed a great substitute. The bouquets she created were better than I imagined and fit our wedding perfectly! Melanie took the vision of our wedding and created the perfect flowers to fit that vision. We had so many compliments on the bouquets and the flowers in our centerpieces. I wish I could take credit for envisioning the beauty but that was all Melanie!

We hired WoodStem Florals for our wedding and Melanie was great to work with and wanted to make sure that our vision showed up in our flowers. I sent Melanie a few ideas and she put together the perfect bouquets and center pieces. Melanie was always very responsive with emails and questions and making sure delivery of flowers on wedding day was seamless. Would highly recommend her if you are in need of flowers.

Melanie is so talented and creative she was so considerate of our budget and took the time to really listen to what I wanted she is amazing! I was planning my wedding from Texas and was worried about not getting to meet in person but she made everything so easy and sent me a wonderful flower plan that mentioned each and every flower she was using and had all these incredible ideas!! She incorporated all the colors I wanted and put everything together so beautifully!! She did such a wonderful job I was so thrilled with how our flowers turned out they were stunning!

Melanie from WoodStem Floral & Décor was absolutely amazing! We had a quick phone call where I did my best to communicate my vision and Melanie got it immediately. Any changes that I had we did over email very quickly. She was very responsive and helpful at making additions and changes. The bouquets all turned out absolutely gorgeous as did the wedding arbor. I cannot speak highly enough about Melanie. From the minute I met her during our consultation I knew we would not only be friends but she would get my vision perfectly! She did not disappoint. WOW! Melanie has a beautiful eye for design and I was absolutely blown away on my wedding day. My jaw literally dropped when I walked in and saw the bouquets. I am so thankful we found her as our florists and day of coordinator. There were so many details she pointed out to me that I hadn't thought of. She also worked with us on staying within our budget. The flowers that Melanie put together and delivered for my wedding were beautiful and really helped to tie the entire day together! She was willing to travel from WinterPark to Golden to deliver and was flexible with the timing of when they needed to be delivered. Communication was outstanding at the beginning when I first reached out to her to possibly initiate a contract and the way that she puts extra detail into the quotes was just beautiful. The closer it got to the wedding there was very little communication and I began to get a little nervous but after several phone calls and emails I did hear back from her and she assured me that everything would be just fine. I was a little surprised that set up was not included in the delivery fee and when going back through emails it was never stated or offered that they were separate-thankfully I had simple centerpieces and my day of coordinator was flexible to help set everything up. At the end of the day, her work and the flowers turned our beautiful and exactly what I wanted, she was on time, and made last minute decisions on corsages that made them look even better without an uncharge. Thank you Melanie!

I worked with Melanie @ WoodStem and it was a great experience for me. My flowers were fresh and beautiful. I couldn't ask for more from WoodStem - all expectations were met and some.

Melanie was not easy to work with. In the initial process, I sent pictures of ideas and flowers I would like in my bouquet, as well as my bridesmaids. She kept coming back with ideas and pictures of completely different flowers, color schemes, etc. It took so long to be on the same page as her and it took a face-to-face meeting to accomplish that. When I left the appointment, I felt excited and happy with our wedding flower choices (bouquets, boutonnieres, and center pieces). Cut to the day of my wedding, Melanie was over an hour late with the flowers. I was planning on wearing flowers in my hair, and since she was late, my hair lady had to stay over an hour later than she planned to quickly put the flowers in my hair. Melanie did not even come in to speak with me or apologize for being late, my bridesmaids had to go fetch the flowers from her. The flowers were awful and not at all what we decided on and chose for my wedding. They honestly looked like she completely forgot about my flowers and they were an after-thought and just thrown together. Melanie didn’t even have the decency to come talk to me or apologize for being late. It was completely unprofessional. Not to mention, the flowers in my hair just crumbled apart and looked horrible. I took Melanie's recommendations for the boutonnieres so I would get the look that we wanted, but with flowers that would wilt. The boutonnieres wilted instantly, it was so bad and ugly. It was awful. I do not recommend her at all. She is not reliable, does not listen to what the bride wants or wishes, and is unprofessional. I do not want another bride to feel the way I did working with Melanie. I was so angry when my bridesmaids carried the box of bouquets into the hut we were getting ready in- the flowers were awful, and not at all what we had agreed on. I still cringe looking at my wedding pictures.

We decided that I would handle the flowers for our wedding. My now wife wasn't that much into it and my mom loves flowers so I had her help us make a few key decisions. My wife gave me the color palette and the rest was up to me (and mom). Since we were having a destination wedding I wanted to hire all local vendors to keep things very simple for me. I found WoodStem via a Google search. The communication was seamless, Melanie was great about responding via email in a very timely manner. One thing I learned during this process was that the vendors you choose are working with many other brides so patience is necessary when planning a wedding. Anyway - our flowers were better than expected and my Wife was thrilled with the outcome especially since she had little engagement with WoodStem. Melanie listened and provided great ideas. My mom was impressed with Melanie as well, not trying to upsell us and sticking to our budget. We recommend WoodStem.

We decided to do a destination wedding in Colorado. At first I was a little weary because I didn't know how the vendor process would go. I came across Melanie at WoodStem and it was the best part of the wedding planning process. She was very knowledgable of flowers but also had so much insight for the area as well. She was such a great help! Our flowers were amazing and Melanie was professional, kind and very fun to work with. I can only say Thank you Thank you!

I wanted to write this review to warn other brides of my experience working with Melanie. I was planning my wedding from out of state due to my job. We set up a time to talk on the phone and discuss my vision for my wedding. Everything seemed to be going well. She listened to what I had to say and made some of her own suggestions. It all seemed to be coming together well. She asked if I would send her pictures of what we talked about and to list exactly how many bouquets, boutonnieres, ext. that I would need and that she would then prepare a quote for me within the week. A month had passed and I still had not heard from Melanie, so I emailed her to follow up. She never responded to my email. I sent another email a week later but did still not hear back. I then decided to call Melanie and to my surprise she answered the phone. She said it is very rare that she answers the phone because of how busy she is and that I was lucky to get ahold of her. She told me how she has bitten off more than she can chew and how the assistant she hired was not helping the way she would like. Melanie assured me though not to worry and that all of her brides usually love how their flowers turn out. However, she then chuckled and said "watch you will be the first one I won't be able to do a good job for". She then went on to say that we really need to get going on ordering my flowers because I was only a couple months out from my wedding. I was very frustrated since I had made multiple attempts to reach out without hearing anything back. The next day I did receive a quote from Melanie and an outline of what flowers she planned to use for different pieces. For the most part everything looked good. I did want to tweak a few things because she had included dark red flowers for the bridal bouquet and that wasn't part of my color scheme. I figured it was due to a simple misunderstanding and would be easy to correct since it was something so simple. However, the next day I received an email from her stating she believed we were on completely different pages, and it would probably be wise if I went with another florist. I was shocked and dumbfounded. With it being so close to my wedding date I did not feel comfortable trying to find another florist. I tried to see if there was some way we could continue to work together but then received an email stating she is not accepting new clients at this time, which was crazy because I definitely was not a new client. I feel the experience I had with Melanie was very unprofessional and would encourage couples to look elsewhere to avoid a similar experience. --Mackenzie & Logan

Melanie with Woodstem Floral & Decor added the perfect subtleties to our wedding. The flowers were beautiful and simple, as I requested. She added blue thistle to my arrangements, which was wonderfully unique. She was also very affordable and provided me with her honest opinion, even in situations where it would decrease her bottom line. She was truly professional and a pleasure to work with. Melanie is someone who takes a great deal of pride in her work - she is extremely creative and her floral arrangements were even better than expected - she knows the venue inside out where my daughter's wedding was and made several suggestions to ensure things even went more smootly. While she runs a solo shop - it's like you are getting an entire team because she handles all aspects with care and attention to detail - and her prices are terrific - she is honest and upfront as her goal is to provide quality service and let me say she did that and more - I worked with her from start to finish and have no hesitation in recommending her for your special event - I am not one to write reviews as I expect to receive top notch service and quality products/work as I am paying for same - but Melanie deserves to be recognized for doing a tremendous job - and not just doing the minimum - frankly I think she should raise her rates - the flowers were amazing - she also provided Day of Coordination Services on top of that and her extra special touches just made the whole event -

If you want a florist you can count on, don’t choose Melanie at WoodStem Floral in Winter Park, CO. I don’t write reviews very often, but I was so upset by my experience that I felt I needed to warn other brides. I signed a contract with Melanie one year in advance of my wedding. Our initial meeting was good, Melanie offered up a lot of creative ideas, including one that I thought was rather unique, rather than a floral bouquet, she suggested flowering rose bushes at the altar. I loved it! It was agreed that Melanie would provide the rose bushes for the wedding. However, just 7 weeks before the wedding I received an email from Melanie telling me that she had learned earlier this year that her supplier would not be able to provide rose bushes for my wedding and if I still wanted them I would have to provide myself. I let Melanie know I was upset to be learning so close to the wedding that she could not get the rose bushes, which she had suggested for my ceremony. But also stated I was sure we could figure something out. As Melanie had offered to check again with her supplier, I proceeded to update my floral order, keeping the rose bushes on the list till I heard back from her. If not rose bushes, I knew I needed something else to sit in front of the arbor. Melanie responded that she was surprised to see the rose bushes on my list. She stated that we obviously were not aligned and that I should find another florist. This was only 6 weeks before my wedding! I felt trapped, I had three business trips between now and the wedding and questioned whether it would even be possible to find another florist in the Grand Valley on such short notice. My fiancé and I discussed the situation and agreed that it might be best to try and make it work with Melanie, consequently we sent a very nicely worded email apologizing for any misunderstanding and asking if she had any other suggestions if rose bushes could not be obtained from her supplier. I then waited for her response. 48 hours later, I still had not received a response from Melanie, despite the fact that her signature promised a 24-hour response. Again I discussed with my fiancé and we agreed that we no longer trusted Melanie and that it might be best to try and find someone else. Consequently, I sent an email to Melanie letting her know we were taking her up on her suggestion and would be finding another florist. It took Melanie less than 10 minutes to respond! Who does this to a bride? Don’t make the same mistake I did… find a different florist. One you can count on.

Melanie was wonderful to work with. She helped me create a vision that fit my style and my budget. When I raised concerns that something was too expensive she was quick to offer solutions that worked. I would highly recommend using Woodstem for all your mountain florist needs.

I worked with Melanie for my wedding flowers on 9/16/17. Every time I connected with her she was so friendly, professional and quick to respond. Melanie delivered our flowers to Wild Horse Inn which took the stress off us. She really understood what we were looking for and our flowers were gorgeous. I would highly recommend working with her!!

Melanie did an AMAZING job on our flowers for our wedding. We had so many compliments from our guests stating that these were the prettiest flowers they have ever seen!. We chose to have eucalyptus garlands on the tables, which was a huge hit. The bouquets and the tall centerpieces were gorgeous! Melanie was very organized and super easy to work with!

Melanie did an amazing job on flowers for my daughter's wedding in Idaho Springs, Colorado. Per our wishes - she incorporated succulents into a bouquet filled with a beautiful selection of brightly colored flowers. Also, Melanie was our wedding coordinator - who we contracted for "day-of services" ( in our attempt to be economical but realistic). Melanie stepped up to attend the walk-thru and the rehearsal and to run the show on the wedding day. I am not sure how she managed to familiarize herself with every detail without being part of the planning process prior to the last week -but she did it!. Every wedding has some minor glitches and Melanie dealt with these calmly and it was evident that her goal was to minimize stress to all of us in the wedding. We would highly recommend Melanie and WoodStem Floral and Decor!

Elegant flower arrangements. We needed centerpieces and a bouquet for our small wedding. They were responsive to our requests (and then changes to those requests!) to provide us flowers within our budget. The arrangements ended up perfectly matching our desired feel and color scheme for the event, without breaking the bank.

So very pleased with Melanie at Stemwood Florist. Due to living out of state, email and phone calls was my only way of communication. The balloon arrangements and the gorgeous flower arrangement was perfect for the venue. Many compliments from the guests. I also stayed within my budget which was another plus! I highly recommend Melanie at Stemwood Florist!

Melanie did an incredible job with my bouquet for my wedding. I had a tight budget for flowers and she really worked hard to accommodate that while being conscious of what I wanted. She is incredibly flexible, very timely with responses and worked with us to pickup on a Saturday. I highly recommend her for any floral services. She's phenomenal!

We were lucky to find Melanie at WoodStem, she did a fantastic job! We ordered centerpieces, bulk flowers and bouquets everything was beautiful.
