This was a perfect venue! It's one of the more reasonably priced venues in Portland and it perfectly captures the best parts of the city. Very close to downtown. We totally recomme...
nd having the Happy Hour in the museum- it was a hit with our guests. The space (Miller Hall) is flexible enough to host the ceremony, dinner, and dancing. The wedding coordinator was very responsive throughout our planning process. We did have some rain issues on the day of, which the WFC could have been more prepared to handle (we could have been more prepared as well). We also had trouble communicating with WFC staff on the day of, including getting some of the brides things locked in a room as we were wrapping up the reception. Overall the pros greatly outweighed any cons and we were very happy with our choice. We would recommend it to anyone getting married in the Portland area!
Would not reccomend, they would not refund my money for canceling 5 months in advance. Very selfish.
Great venue and super location in Portland. Our wedding happened to be on a very hot day in May so the reception was hot for dancing but other than that we loved our wedding/recept...
ion at Miller Hall!!
Miller Hall (the larger of the two main event spaces) is perfect for 100-200 guests. We had 110 and had more than enough room to breathe and expand into the space, even without rea...
lly using the adjoining patio. The indoor space is really beautiful, and the lobby area gives you the flexibility to "flip" from ceremony to reception space in the main hall. We really enjoyed having an extra room for coats and one for the wedding party and/or feeding babies. Everyone on staff that we worked with was knowledgable and friendly, as well. They really know the space and how to think and plan ahead for a great day. Not to mention the photo opportunities nearby!
We had our ceremony and reception in the outdoor plaza outside of Cheatham Hall and had a beautiful event! Angie was very helpful in the planning, event design, and using the space...
to it's fullest potential. She was flexible with our last minute changes due to weather.
I rented the Cheatham Hall and Plaza (outdoor tent). The space was beautiful and we had an amazing time there. We took the max from downtown portland to the venue on the wedding d...
ay which made for a great experience and photos. The cost of the venue is reasonable, that being said I spend an additional $800 on chairs and lighting for the outdoor space since WFC does not allow you to bring their chairs outdoors. We used Catering at It's Best as our caterer (selected from the approved vendor list) and thought they were reasonably priced and good food/service.
I just got married at the World Forestry Center at the end of May in Miller Hall and it was the most perfect day (in spite of the weather).
If you don't know where it is, the WFC...
shares a parking lot with the Children's Museum and the Oregon Zoo (Plenty of parking once the kids/families begin clearing out around 3 pm). I recommend Miller Hall for any couple looking for a beautiful indoor venue for a large wedding (we had 270 total with the dance floor uncovered).
From the first time we saw the venue, my husband and I loved it. The indoor ceremony/reception area is a huge round room with wood paneled walls, neutral flooring with a stone dance floor in the center, and a beautiful beamed high-ceiling. There is also, both, a groom and bridal ready room that are very spacious and clean.
The event staff was a bonus- we worked primarily with Jessica and she was great to work with and answered our phone calls/emails very promptly. Jessica was also there the day of the wedding to coordinate all of our vendors (no wedding planner necessary!). She was a great go-to person and made me feel very at ease.
The last thing that I will mention is that the venue also has some great spots for pictures- you can do them outside with all the beautiful landscaping before 4pm, and there's a cool black lumber train that sits by the entrance that we took a lot of pictures on!
Service= 5; great staff!
Quality= 5; BEAUTIFUL, clean, nice chairs, tables, and lantern package

Great place and the staff was great too
We rented Miller Hall. It was decorated beautifully. Amber was very helpful. Would highly recommend this venue to others.
This is an absolutely beautiful venue. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The World Forestry Center makes for a slightly more affordable indoor option in the Portland area t...

o my questions leading up to the big day.
We used Miller Hall for our ceremony and reception. The room is beautiful and was perfect for our simple celebration. There are a few things you need to prepare for though. Parking...
is an issue during the summer because of various events going on at the zoo. We ended up starting our ceremony an hour late because people were not able to arrive on time despite being warned to take the max and carpool...the max was late as well. Also, Amber the coordinator for the venue will try to talk you into doing different things that you have discussed with your vendors. Do not let her do that, because it created a few issues with our wedding and a lot of confusion.
We absolutely loved the WFC. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly, the space is so pretty, and the rental fee includes tables, chairs, a projector screen, and the space for...
12 hours. There was also easily accessible parking for vendors and guests. We just used the WFC for our reception, but they have outdoor space that can be used for a wedding as well.
Cheatham Hall made for a lovely venue for a wedding reception just under 100 guests. I was a bride who wanted a lot of direction from the coordinators, but they left a lot of deci...
sion making up to me, which I didn't like too much since I was out of state. But overall, the venue was a joy for all the guests and was a great value.
I had my wedding at the world forestry center, it was amazing and beautiful, i chose miller hall. The staff was very friendly and better yet i got to have claeys catering which was...

dating throughout the planning process and on the day of our event.
The site is beautiful and has many interesting areas for photography. Both Miller and Cheatam Halls are gorgeous for ceremony and/or reception.
Be aware of the limits on caterers if you have any special food needs and the hours if you like to party all night, but if you are flexible, it's a great place to have your wedding.
I think my wedding would have been spectacular at this location but we couldn't afford to hire a caterer off their list (which is quite extensive to give you many options) we just...
had too many people to invite and a low budget. but the wood is so beautiful.
Wonderful venue! Amber, the events coordinator, is wonderful and very helpful (and good at calming nerves.) The venue was exactly what we wanted and we knew it from the moment th...
at we saw it. We wanted a woodsy, outdoor feel and Miller Hall was exactly that. It has river rock floors and wood paneling, which doesn't sound beautiful but it really is. Plus there are so many pictures opportunities in Washington Park. It was a perfect day.
