We truly cannot say enough amazing things about Yana Shellman. From the very beginning, she was everything you could ever want in a wedding photographer, and so much more.
Our wedding journey took an unexpected turn when a blizzard hit on our original date, and what could have been just a stressful and disappointing situation turned into something incredibly special because of Yana. She showed up with such a positive, calm energy and made the absolute best of the day. She took over 200 beautiful photos of us and our bridal party, capturing moments we’ll cherish forever, and she did all of that completely free of charge. That level of kindness and dedication is something we will never forget.
When we rescheduled our wedding to April 3rd, Yana didn’t hesitate. She made herself available for our new date and didn’t charge us anything extra, which truly meant so much during an already overwhelming time. It just showed us, once again, how much she genuinely cares about her couples.
On our actual wedding day, she was with us for her full-day package, and from the moment she arrived, she brought such a fun, calming, and supportive presence. She is incredibly kind, personable, and genuinely funny - she kept us laughing and relaxed all day long. We were a little nervous about posing for photos, but she made it feel so natural and effortless. She guided us every step of the way without it ever feeling forced or awkward, and somehow made us feel completely comfortable in front of the camera.
She also did an amazing job managing the flow of the day, keeping everything on track while still allowing us to fully enjoy every moment. It felt like she was not only our photographer, but also someone in our corner making sure everything went smoothly.
And then there are the photos… absolutely breathtaking. Every single image is filled with emotion, beauty, and attention to detail. She captured so many moments we didn’t even realize were happening, and looking through our gallery feels like reliving the entire day over and over again.
On top of that, her turnaround time was incredible. We received our full gallery of over 1,500 photos in less than two weeks, which completely exceeded our expectations. The quality, the quantity, and the speed, everything was beyond impressive.
Yana is not only unbelievably talented at what she does, but she is also one of the most genuine, caring, and dedicated people we’ve had the pleasure of working with. She went above and beyond for us in every possible way, and we feel so lucky to have had her as part of our wedding.
If you’re considering booking her - do it. We would recommend her a thousand times over without hesitation!!

derful things about Yana! First she has the brightest and most positive energy and every time you speak with her she will energize you and excite you for your big day. Second she is a trooper, i really wanted our photos outside but it was freezing, snowing and super windy and Yana made it happen. She is also extremely detailed oriented and provides a wonderful sense of calm to a crazy morning by taking all the concern out of making sure you get all the pictures you want. Her work speaks for itself, her photos are beautiful and perfectly capture the feelings we shared on our special day. You can’t go wrong hiring yana on such an important day you will be happy you did.

Even if you are camera shy or awkward, she makes you feel like a million bucks and makes the whole process very fun and natural. She is super detailed, keeps time, and plans the photo schedule so that you don’t have to worry about a thing. o the wedding Yana answered all my questions and concerns SO quickly! The day of the wedding our hair and make up was running a little behind so pictures started a little later than anticipated but we still got all our desired pictures (and more!) and ended 20 minutes early!! AMAZING! She directed everyone easily and was truly a pleasure to spend the day with! Yana was also literally right behind me all night anytime I wanted a picture with a guest. I could not have asked for anything more! Yana being there the entire day also made me feel not so rushed to get pictures immediately and I was able to enjoy my day. organized, so thoughtful and so talented. Our engagement photos gave us a chance to “practice” with Yana, and gave us so many amazing pictures that I used both at my wedding and around my house. My actual wedding day Yana and her assistant felt more like both wedding planners and photographers. She kept everything so perfectly organized and on time for me that I did not need to worry about anything except enjoying my day. She put my entire bridal party and family at ease for pictures. She made sure she knew my exact vision and schedule and she followed it perfectly. It snowed after our ceremony and Yana’s encouragement and vision got us some of the most amazing wedding photos! However, she also respected when we had had enough and were cold. Her goal is to get you all the pictures you want, but to never impose on your enjoying your day. We got our FULL gallery back super fast, completely edited and absolutely beautiful. You are going to be spending a lot of time with your wedding photographer on one of the most important days of your life so I suggest picking someone you genuinely like! I LOVED Yana, she really is one of the sweetest people I have ever met and I can’t wait to refer her to anyone who asks (since I’ve already had engaged friends reach out bc they saw her amazing pictures of mine), and to use her for other stages in my life! We found Yana through a referral from another photographer and it was probably the best thing that could've happened! She initially set up an in-person meeting with us at Starbucks...
to get to know us better and go through a timeline to give us a rough idea of what our wedding day would look like. We instantly fell in love with her positive energy and bubbly-ness and knew we wanted her to be the one to capture all of our wedding memories. Throughout the wedding planning process, Yana helped us in more ways than just a photographer. She gave us recommendations for pictures and helped us with the timing of everything so we could coordinate with our other vendors - it truly was a wedding planning lifesaver! She's very quick to respond to emails or messages which is a plus in my book ;) On the day of our wedding, she was amazing! She was professional, efficient and still her bubbly self - many of our guests complimented her sweet personality as well as her way of maneuvering through the crowds to capture wonderful memories. Yana was able to do just that, and made both my husband and I feel at ease. She helped me remain calm on our wedding day when the weather decided to have a mind of its own (which ended up working out anyways--the rain pictures are stunning!!). Yana is so sweet, patient, and extremely hard working. Her assistant had to cancel last minute on the day of our wedding so she was working by herself, but you would have never known when looking at the quality and quanity (1600+!!) of her photos. She arrived early in the day, and stayed with us through the wedding and reception. I could not recommend Yana enough! Thank you for capturing our day so perfectly!

not to mention exceptionally detailed and organized (my favorite!). In both our engagement and wedding photos, Yana made us feel comfortable and made the experience fun and easy. Yana helped set the timeline and schedule for everything, taking a big stress off of us. On the day of our wedding, she was prompt and helped make the day run seamlessly. We had a TON of rain on our day - this was a non-issue for Yana, who remained positive and upbeat, made the photos fun to take, and captured the most amazing shots despite the weather. Her love of what she does shines through her work as well as her personality. We are so glad we found her and hope to get to work with her again!

From the first time I meet Yana I knew she was a right choice, from her thoroughness on who to make sure we got photos with, to sticking out for longer than I thought she would. We were by no means an easy bunch to organize but she did it with ease. I was so picky in the beginning on what photographer to choose because I was not getting a videographer, I wanted someone who captured emotion and candid special moments. I could not have picked better and would pick Yana over and over. On our wedding day, she exceeded our expectations even more. My husband and I are not photogenic people and picture taking is actually a huge stressor for me. Yana is like a friend who makes it feel so natural and and comfortable. Not only was she a pleasure to work with for us, but our family and friends raved about her kindness and talent as well.
Yana was quick at getting our pictures back to us after! We loved them so much as we knew we would from looking at her beautiful pictures before hiring her. Every part of working with Yana was a true pleasure.

e met for the first time for our engagement photos. We were very nervous and not used to having professional photos taken but Yana put us at ease and went along with every idea we had, including having our dog in the photos. Leading up to the wedding she was completely organized and on top of every detail. On our wedding day she was punctual, upbeat, and endlessly energetic. I don't know how she does it. Everyone at our wedding was commenting that Yana managed to be everywhere for any special moment, without being intrusive or in the way at all. We also completely love the initial sneak peek photos we got back from our wedding. I would highly recommend Yana to anyone.

a grandmother helping her grandson prepare for his part in someone’s big day. The picture really stuck out to me, it was quite moving, I immediately followed up on the photographer. We felt so very fortunate to have stumbled upon Yana this way. The initial decision to work with her for our wedding was one of the easiest we made- we met with Yana via Facetime and moved forward with total confidence. Her demeanor was so very pleasant while maintaining a superior level of professionalism. She specifically requested to hear our needs and expectations of her and our day, gave input and helped us put together a schedule that worked perfectly for us. Her follow up was great; she was responsive and always very clear about what we should expect.
On the day of, Yana and her assistant arrived as scheduled and ready to go. We were behind scheduled and they remained super flexible and handled these challenges with poise and ease. My husband and I could not be more pleased with her, our whole day was exquisitely documented with photographic precision by someone who truly cares and wants you to love your pictures. Yana prepares a really sweet blog about each couple; ours was ready one week after the wedding! It is so neat to get such a thorough preview so quickly. The full album was available one month after the wedding and we have the most stunning collection of our own moving photos that we are so proud of. Going through them is truly like reliving the day, every little detail that meant so much to us captured just perfectly. We can honestly recommend Yana’s services with the upmost confidence. When all was said and done, we felt honored to have had the opportunity to work with such a wonderful, skillful and gifted person who delivers exactly what they say they will.

etc. Aside from our actual photo shoot during the wedding I didnt notice her at all. I was surprised to receive the pictures and seebeautiful (up close) images of special moments because I never noticed her in the moment. That made for a great experience because I could enjoy my wedding and not have to worry about invasive photography. Yana also has a friendly personality. Yana truly delivered and I would highly recommend.

It’s hard in your wedding day because you want to enjoy it and sometimes all of the roles you have to play can be very overwhelming. Yana managed to balance it out and we didn’t feel like she was overbearing or over doing it yet she still somehow managed to capture all the best moments. I would recommended Yana to any bride/groom or anybody else looking for great photos! You will not be disappointed!

Our wedding day was a tad rainy, but our photos turned out even more beautifully than we could ever imagine. Her creative style really shined and every picture was incredible. She made everyone involved feel so comfortable - I am not one who likes pictures and she made me feel comfortable and it was so easy for me to act natural. Yana took so many photos, I really couldn't believe she literally captured every moment! When we received our photos, it was like we were reliving that day/night all over again - it was amazing.

boudoir shoot and our wedding day. Yana is a joy to work with, an incredibly sweet woman. Her personality makes it easy to smile/pose for the photographs. The pictures themselves are wonderful and visually stunning. Yana did such a wonderful job capturing the warmth and happiness of our wedding day. An excellent reminder of an excellent day.
Furthermore, Yana is incredibly prompt getting images to us. The day after our wedding, preview photos were posted. 6 days after the wedding, Yana posted a lovely six-minute video of pictures set to music. 8 days after the wedding, as soon as we returned to the country from our honeymoon, our full album was available of over 1500 pictures! Amazing!
All around, Yana Shellman Photography was an amazing photographer. I very, very highly recommend!

e joy with us. She was really easy to talk to and discuss things before the day as well as on the day of our wedding. She made the day go by really smooth and there was no frustrations or complains from me (the bride) or the groom on such a busy day like the wedding. All the requests we had for her were done exactly the way we wanted. What I found most amazing was that she was okay with coming to our place at 7 in the morning, even though the drive for her was more than 2 hours. Our wedding was also in January and that Saturday was probably the coldest one and there was snow laying everywhere. We wanted to have pictures done first thing in the morning. The temperature was 27* F. I could see how Yana's fingers were falling off from the freezing wind, but she did not complain and stayed outside for the whole time and did an amazing photo shoot. In the winter there's not much of a scenery outside, but she would find places that in the end looked amazing on pictures. She captured the best moments at the wedding and was always on her feet, running, trying not to miss anything important. We have pictures from the wedding hanging on our walls and all the guests that come over always compliment on the quality of the photos. Yana really put her heart and soul in satisfying us that day. If I will have another event in my life that will require a professional photographer, Yana would definitely be my number one option.
