Yia Yia's Bakery

We were regular customers of Yia Yia before we had chose them to make our wedding cake. We enjoyed visiting the bakery to do a tasting. Nicole was helpful in guiding us to making our selection and updating the order when our guest count gradually changed. Multiple people commented that the cake was the best wedding cake they ever had. We also ordered a cake for a welcome event that we had the day before and there was no leftover!

From the start Yia Yia's Bakery made getting our wedding cake an easy and stress-free process. Our tasting was delicious and fun. My husband and I both felt that they truly wanted to make us happy and make our vision come to life. When we got our cake on our wedding day, it was everything and more than I hoped. It was beautiful and exactly what we envisioned. We 100% recommend Yia' Yia's Bakery to anyone looking for a tasty dessert.

We were recommended by family friends to have Yia Yia make our wedding cake. We met with Nicole and had a very informative and fun tasting. She was very helpful with mixing flavors so there was balance and nothing was too sweet or bland. We showed her our dream cake on Pinterest and she and her team made it happen! We also had cupcakes for guests and the guests raved about the coffee flavored cupcakes. It's a great alternative to serving coffee at the end of the reception.

We worked with Yia Yia’s Bakery via our venue (Turf Valley) for our wedding cake. We were extremely pleased with how it turned out. Nicole was very communicative and helped to clarify any misunderstandings along the way to make sure that we were on the same page. We loved the look of our cake and REALLY loved the taste. We got a lot of compliments from our guests. We would easily recommend Yia Yia’s for wedding cake. Unfortunately we do not have a photo of it (yet), but if they have one, they are welcome to share it!

My husband and just got married on 11/14/20. We hired YiaYia's Bakery to be our baker. We were not interested in a huge lavish cake. We ordered a "cutting cake" as our caterer provided other sweets. It was delicious! We tried other bakers and the cake was much tastier here. My husband enjoyed the cake as well and he self-proclaims he is not a "cake person". Due to COVID we were not able to meet in person with the baker. Instead I picked up tasting slices of different flavors and brought it home and my husband and I had a private tasting in our home! We also enjoyed working with this bakery because they were willing to deliver the cake to the venue (they are located in Baltimore County and our venue was in Cecil). They delivered on time. Yia Yia's did an incredible job on our wedding cake for our August 2020 wedding. From the tasting to the event, it could not have been easier. This is one of those things that just needs to be right, and Yia Yia's pulled through! I have also stopped in for their pastries and other stuff and it's the best i've had.

Yia Yia's made our perfect wedding cake! Working with Andrea was a dream and easy. We had our tiers alternate with key lime and chocolate. Our design was exactly what we wanted with adding in our wedding colors of silver and sapphire blue. They delivered and took care of everything. I didn't have to worry at all on the big day. Highly recommend!

We used Yia Yia's Bakery for our wedding cake earlier this June and it was absolutely delicious AND beautiful! We knew immediately from the tasting that we didn't have to look anywhere else! Nicole was very helpful and talked us through what we wanted. We ended up getting 3 different flavors for each layer of our cake because we couldn't choose just one favorite! Everyone absolutely loved the cake and we can't wait to enjoy our delicious top layer on our anniversary!

We had YiaYias bakery make our wedding cake and it was wonderful. I did the tasting with my mom (my husband trusted us on this) and they had tons of options available. We did 3 tiers with 2 flavor combinations. I had found some ideas on Pinterest for the actual decoration component of the cake and YiaYias mirrored the picture I showed them perfectly. Everyone who had the cake loved it!! They took the stress of the cake off of our hands and I could not be happier

Yia Yia's Bakery baked an amazing cake for our wedding! We got both a 2-tiered cake and cupcakes, and we were allowed to pick 5 different flavors!! The cakes tasted out of this world! All of our guests raved about them! Our cake was beautifully decorated! We were so excited to see that our vision of what we wanted our cake to look like turned out perfect! They were very accommodating as well with the few additions and changes we made throughout the process, and they were very helpful when suggesting flavor combinations and what would look best based on our venue lighting! Would recommend them if you want an cake that is everything you imagined and incredibly delicious!

Yia Yia’s made a small tres leches cake for my husband and me, and cupcakes for our guests. Both were amazing, both visually and taste wise!! The bride and groom cake was decadent and wonderful, and exactly what we hoped for. There were a few extra cupcakes left after the wedding and I’m so glad there were, because the Swiss buttercream icing is divine!!!

We got our wedding cake and rehearsal dinner cake at Yia Yia's for our wedding on 7/6/18. Both cakes were delicious and received many compliments from our guests! I ended up changing my mind on how I wanted the wedding cake decorated about a month before the wedding and Andrea willingly met with me again to plan the new design. We ended up with a cake that was bigger than needed for our guest count but since the cake was so good I wan't upset about having leftovers!

The cake was absolutely beautiful and tasted AMAZING. Reasonable pricing as well! I went to many bakeries to sample cakes and nothing comes remotely close to Yia Yia’s. Highly highly recommend!

OMG! Yummy in our tummy! Our wedding cake was flawless and delicious! Our guests couldn't stop raving about its beauty and flavor! Andrea was nothing more than exceptional in handling and helping to execute this flawless confection! Will definitely use Yia Yia's in the future and will definitely recommend them to anyone for their delicious baked goods!

Our wedding cake was from Yia-Yia's and we couldn't be more happy! Andrea was very accommodating to work with and answered any questions. The tasting was fun too and even though I didn't want fondant, we still tried a sample to see how their's tasted. They also called the week before to make sure the design/flavors were still the same and confirm our head count. I had people coming up to me about how wonderful the cake tasted. Would work with again!

I ordered my wedding cake from Yia Yia's bakery last year for my wedding. The cake was incredible and looked beautiful. However, when packing up the cake to go home, the top tier of the cake was completely smashed. Mortified, I called and spoke with the wedding consultant that had been assisting me in the entire process to see if we can pick up a replacement. Andrea was so kind, helpful and accommodating when I spoke with her and she even joked that because of the type of filling that we had ordered it would have tasted awful if frozen and thawed out a year later. She advised me to call when my anniversary was close to place a new order. So fast forward and our one year anniversary is coming up. I sent an email to Andrea and asked if I could place the order for the new top of the cake and that we wanted the same exact specs. Never once in that email did I state that I wanted anything FREE. However this is the response I received: Hi , We provided you with your free anniversary tier ON your wedding cake... We do not offer free cakes on your anniversary. If you just wanted to order a fresh cake, this would not be through the wedding cake department. This would be through the front counter staff here at the bakery. As far as pricing goes, I am unaware, as I only sell our wedding cakes, but I can tell you that they require all cakes to be ordered in person. As much as I would love to be of further assistance, on top of my hands being full this time of year [stated that she was home dealing with personal family issues]. Later that day I called the bakery to speak with the manager Stacy. She went on to telling me that maybe Andrea misunderstood my email and began vouching for Andrea's character as if I was saying she was a horrible person. While speaking with Stacy, I even told her that Andrea mentioned that she was out tending to her sick son and I understand that as a mother, but I also did not deserve her less than friendly response especially since I was only following her instruction from the previous year. I only stated that I was dissatisfied with her response. I have decided to get my cake from another bakery. I have NO problem paying for a service, but what I will not do is pay a business that has no concept of what it means to have customer service. I am very disappointed with Yia Yia's customer service on the overall.

We worked with Andrea from Yia Yia’s Bakery. She was AMAZING. I came in for a consultation with some ideas, and she brought everything to life. She drew several pictures of my vision and it was spot on. Andrea and this bakery were SUPER easy to work with and the most affordable wedding cake bakery we could find for this quality of work. Now…on to the cake. It’s to die for. We had a 4 layer cake (with an extra 6 inch back-up cake) and we had 3 different flavors. This cake was absolutely delicious, and we could tell our guests agreed as all of the cake was eaten…and quickly! 10 out of 10 for Yia Yia’s Bakery! Angie and Jimi

The wedding cake and groom's cake we received from Yia Yia's were perfect. We had provided pictures of what we wanted and the cakes were EXACTLY what we pictured. The cake also tasted delicious!

We went with Yai Yai's because it is the vendor that our venue went with. Our cake was delicious! It looked just as I had envisioned it! They were great to work with and made everything perfect!

Yai Yai's not only took care of my wedding cake, but helped me surprise my groom with a Groom's cake! Both looked perfect, like we discussed. We did taste what cake we smashed into one another's face and heard that everyone loved how it tasted! We cannot wait for our first anniversary to share the top!

Yia Yia's Bakery is the best! We had a wonderful wedding cake for my daughter's wedding...Alivia & Dominic on 10/11/14. The cake was absolutely beautiful and quality/taste...delish! I didn't get to sample the chocolate w/chocolate moose & strawberry one...but our other with the Bavarian Creme & Chocolate Genache...was fantastic! Andrea from start to finish was amazing in designing our wedding cake! She was very professional, knowledgeable and excited to design our cake! She had lots of great ideas and our design tastes meshed so well. There were so many delicious flavors to choose from, it was hard to narrow down! Luckily, we were allowed to select 3 flavors! We received so many compliments on our wedding cake & we couldn't have imagined working with anyone else! A++++

Yia Yia's created a beautiful cake and cupcake duet that looked amazing and tasted even better. They did an awesome job of coordinating the cake so that it riffed on the design from our invitation. The wedding sales woman we dealed with was very knowledgeable. However, I was disappointed when I could not speak to the cake designer directly -- Oh they are too busy, she exclaimed. As my finance joked in the car ride home "What are they also curing cancer?" We were also not able to get a prototype of the cupcakes -- even if we paid. We just don't do that. Finally, we had to make a special trip out to have a discussion about the design. According to the salesperson, it was just too difficult to explain over the phone. It was not. The needed to use fundant to create a clean line from the strips to work. We wasted about 1.5 hours to have that 3 minute conversation. However, we loved the final product and our guests raved.

Loved Yia Yia's and Andrea! Andrea was so great to work with and she made my cake look exactly like the picture. My cake tasted absolutely amazing and I'm so excited to have the top tier on our one year anniversary.

Our wedding cake was delicious and Andrea did a great job working with us on the cake design. Yia Yia's was also helpful and provided us with written directions about the best way to preserve the top layer of the cake for our 1-year anniversary (I would've just put the whole box in the freezer, but there is actually a several-step process). Although this may seem like a small or unimportant detail to some, I think it demonstrates Yia Yia's attention to detail and a high level of customer care. Visiting Yia Yia's bakery for the cake tasting was a great find - it is one of the most authentic bakeries that I've found in the Baltimore area and will definitely be visiting them in the future!

We had our reception at Richlin Ballroom, so a wedding cake from Yia Yia's Bakery was included in our package. I had found an image of a cake that I loved online, and when I took and picture of it in to our taste testing, I was pleasantly surprised to find out that they would do this new design for us and for only a very minimal extra labor fee! The cake was absolutely delicious (yellow cake with bavarian cream filling is to die for) and the design was done perfectly. Couldn't have asked for anything better!

My cake was part of my catering with Atlantic Caterers. I got to pick 4 different flavors with my plan. Service was great and cake came out fabulous.

Our cake tasted and looked great. They made a custom black lab and added it to our cake that resembled our dog. They did a great job and all of the guests loved it.

I ended up getting my cake here because it was included in my package from the venue I chose. I could have went somewhere else but at this point in the process I really was tired of planning things and just didn't want to. The first appoinment I had we tasted the cakes and started the design process. First and foremost the cakes were delicious! However, the person we met with that day was not the most pleasant. She pretty much yelled at me for not knowing exactly how I wanted my cupcakes designed. Which I understand is probably annoying for them but they have cake designers in the store so they should also be able to give me some ideas to help make the process go better. She told me I needed to go home and do some homework before I came back to meet with them again. The second time I went the original girl was sick and I got someone different who was way more helpful. She helped us pick out some designs and gave us ideas! I will say though, that the story changed that day about what was included in our package but at the end of the day that didn't really matter. When the cupcakes were delivered everything looked and tasted amazing. I rented their cupcake tower which was a hefty price of $200, but $150 of it was a deposit that we were to get back when we dropped it off after the wedding. I didn't really want to pay that price but the shop wouldn't set up the cupcakes at the venue if we used anything else other than theirs. I got it and it worked fine but when my mom went to return it the guy tried to give us less money back because he didn't know what the price was. Good thing my mom called me to check before she left the place! All in all, the cake is good and depending on who you work with at the store your experience can be good.

The cake from Yia Yia's was gorgeous and exceeded my expectations. Their appointments for tastings book quickly so don't wait to book yours or you may miss out on one of our favorite vendors of the day. The tasting was very informative and we loved all of the flavors that we tried. Andrea was extremely helpful at showing us the different sizes, cake shapes and decoration options. The pricing was very clear and we knew exactly what we would be getting when she sketched out our cake and selected the flavors and options. Our guests enjoyed the cake and were excited to try all of the different flavors. We even liked it so much that we ate our top tier the week after the wedding instead of saving it for our 1st anniversary- Next year we can't wait to order an anniversary cake from Yia Yia's!

WOW is all I can say! From the moment we walked into the Yai Yai's, Andrea was so helpful. I learned a lot about cakes that day :-). She explained so much, but made it very easy. Most importantly, we had a family friend design a Crest for our wedding theme and wanted it on our cake. Andrea and the design team at Yai Yai's made it happen. The cake looked and tasted amazing!!! Would highly recommend using them for any other event to provide the cake - thanks Andrea and the Team at Yai Yai's!!

Yia Yia's cakes are absoloutely beautiful. We had a general idea of what we wanted and they came through with making it happen. Our cake was provided by the caterer (Atlantic Caterers) through Yia Yia's, so I'm not sure exactly what their prices are but we did have to pay extra for fondant icing.

I loved my cake! It was yummy and beautiful! The lady I had to deal with when ordering was a bit difficult but she finally listened to what I was saying and we were ok. When dropping off my cake topper the girl was very rude and quickly got snotty with me when I asked her to be carful with it.. My arm had broke off and it had to be repaired. I offered superglue incase anything happened but she refused and said there would be nothing they could do... Otherwise I loved my cake.

Our cake was flawlessly beautiful and absolutely delicious! The price was right too! Their cakes are to die for, we can't wait to eat it on our anniversary!

Part of our package through our reception vendor included a cake from Yia Yias. I've never been a fan of the bakery, but since it was included we decided to give it a shot. The actual taste and look of the cake we received was good, but the two top layers we received were wrong. Yia Yias was more concerned with trying to up sell a bunch of extras rather than provide us the simple cake we wanted. the girl we dealt with for our consults/tasting was rude and unprofessional. I would not recommend to anyone I knew in the future.

One of the best memories of the wedding is our cake. We gave them a picture and they made it look exactly as it was in the picture. The cake was fresh and delicious and I couldn't have asked for a better job!

I was in love with our wedding cake and the service at Yia Yia's. I took several pictures of ideas with me to our tasting. Stacey worked with us to help us make a decision without being pushy. Our cake looked exactly like the picture. I was shocked when I walked into the reception and saw how beautiful it was. The cake was absolutely delicious, too. I had lemon cake with Swiss buttercream and almond with raspberry buttercream filling. I was extremely satisfied with my decision to use Yia Yia's Bakery.

We got the red velvet cake with cream cheese filling and American butterscotch frosting and it was simply scrumptious. The cake was beautifully decorated too. The wedding consultant was very patient with my fiancee and I, as we were not able to make up our minds at the initial tasting and had to make another appointment to finalize things.

The cake was delicious, and they took our design and put it perfectly on our wedding cake. Because they were able to draw the design on with buttercream, it was at no additional cost to us.

Yia Yia's did a wonderful job with our wedding cake. We went through two different tastings and two designs because we were so unsure of what we wanted. The cake turned out beautifully - it matched the sketch that Andrea provided for us and tasted awesome. Their deilvery was timely and the price was right.

I loved my wedding cake from Yia Yia's! They were very friendly and willing to do whatever you wanted. I designed my own invitations and they even took my designs from the invitations and incorporated them onto my cake!

Yia Yia's is my family's favorite bakery. We received a voucher from Hunt Valley Catering to get our cake from Yia Yia's but we would have chosen them either way. The service is wonderful and they will help you think of ideas to create the cake that you want. Our cake was fairly simple, but they added the ribbon that we wanted and it looked as elegant as we had hoped. The cake was the best cake I have ever had. We were able to choose from many options so each layer was unique. All of the layers tasted great ( yes, I tried them all!) and all of the guests were pleased!

Andrea was very helpful and friendly in helping us design our wedding cake. The first appointment was the tasting, where we sampled a large variety of flavors and looked at samples of basic cake designs. They are very flexible when it comes to fillings and flavors, and they have tons of options. We chose our flavors and gave an estimated guest count so we could get an idea of the size and shape of the cake. I set up another appointment, and in the meantime I thought about what I wanted the cake to look like. At the next appointment, she asked me some basic questions about my wedding plans so far, and she quickly picked up on the vibe of the wedding. Andrea showed me their portfolio and made a few suggestions she thought matched with my wedding, which were exactly what I was thinking! On the wedding day, the cake was perfect and they had put on our cake topper exactly the way I wanted. We had many guests tell us it was the tastiest wedding cake they had ever eaten! The best part was they keep the very top of the wedding cake for you to freeze and save (it's not included in the guest count), which is a great idea. The only thing I had trouble with was making appointments because they only do them on certain days until 3:30, so it was hard to plan around my job/schedule. Other than that, I had a fantastic experience

We used Yia Yia's Bakery for our Bride/Groom cake and cupcakes. They were very easy to work with, the quality of their work was amazing, and the price was perfect. We would definitely recommend them.
