We recently had our wedding at York Golf and Tennis Club and it was nothing short of amazing! The setting was breathtaking, with the York River and old clubhouse. Due to rain, we held our ceremony indoors. Staff was able to set up the chairs in a moment’s notice. The dining areas and dance floor were equally stunning. The old clubhouse’s charm and ambiance truly made our wedding day unforgettable. The staff at YGTC went above and beyond to ensure everything ran smoothly. From the initial planning stages to the day-of coordination, Karen’s professionalism and attention to detail were exceptional. She was attentive to our needs, offered helpful suggestions, and managed all the logistics seamlessly. It was clear that she genuinely cares about creating a memorable experience for couples. The catering provided by YGTC was great. The entrees we chose (filet mignon, baked haddock, and spinach ravioli) were a hit. The appetizers were delectable and our guests raved about their meals! The overall atmosphere of YGTC was warm and inviting. The combination of beautiful surroundings, excellent food, and attentive service created an elegant experience that our guests thoroughly enjoyed. I highly recommend YGTC for anyone looking for a stunning wedding location with excellent food and service. They made our wedding day truly special and we are so grateful for Karen's expertise and dedication.

The catering & bartending team at York Golf and Tennis Club also deserve high praise for the delectable cuisine that people are still complimenting me on! Everything from appetizers to dinner, and cocktails were visually stunning and delicious. York Golf and Tennis Club exceeded our expectations, providing an elegant setting, impeccable service, and divine food. I would get married here every year over and over again if I could! Sam, the on site coordinator, is really good at her job. The day went without a hitch. The on site chef put together the best taco spread I’ve ever tasted! We did not do a food tasting prior to the wedding and were blown out of the water. Delicious. Better than most restaurant tacos I’ve had. The space is gorgeous, spacious, and clean without being overly decorated. We were lucky that the hydrangeas were in bloom at the time of our wedding. They added extra beauty to the river views from the porch. There enough room for everyone to congregate when needed and for groups to separate out into their social circles. 10/10 would get married here again

We are so so happy we chose York Golf and Tennis Club for our wedding! The set up of the club house was perfect for our 150 person wedding. The dance floor is spacious, the porches provide a great layout, and the bar area adds so much character. I got ready in the bridal suite on site which was spacious and so cute for pictures! While the perk of this venue is the great outdoor ceremony space, we felt good knowing the indoor rain plan was the best we had seen at any of the venues we toured. Our guests raved about the food! Sam, the venue coordinator, is amazing! She is so helpful and organized. She kept the deadlines on track prior to the wedding and was on top of everything the day of. I didn’t worry for a second! We rehearsed our ceremony inside, as there was a risk of rain and high winds on our wedding day. The morning of, when the weather turned out slightly better than expected, Sam did not hesitate in offering up a change of plans to move forward with an outdoor ceremony. I would highly recommend York Golf and Tennis Club to anyone looking for a venue in southern Maine!

Everything about this venue was PERFECT. Sam was so, so sweet and professional and on top of everything. The views were stunning, the porch amazing, the buliding, bar and dance floor with such charm. The bridal suite for getting ready easily fit 10 of us plus hair/make up team. The food was DELISH and honestly we had an absolute blast. The venue did a beautiful job with all the set up AND they break it down for you to pick up the next day - super helpful! I've been at other venues/weddings that required you to break down your decor the night of! I honestly wish I could do the wedding all over again and would choose YGT in a heart beat!

York Golf and Tennis was the perfect venue for our wedding! From start to finish Sam and the staff at York Golf and Tennis were great to work with. Sam made the whole planning process very easy: she provided us with a list of preferred vendors (all of whom we chose were FANTASTIC), she took care of all of our special requests, and she was always happy to answer any questions we had. And then came the day of our wedding and Sam insured that our wedding went off without a hitch! The venue is very elegant and all of our guests remarked on that, as well as how much they enjoyed the catering. We cannot recommend York Golf and Tennis enough – we couldn’t have asked for a better venue!

What a lovely spot! My daughter had a beautiful October wedding! Wonderful staff! YGTC was so amazing and when my daughter needed to postpone her wedding due to Covid, they switched everything over with no issues, including maintaining the same pricing schedule. This wedding was in the works for 3 years so we experienced more than one wedding planner but there was never an issue and we found all of them to be helpful and professional. Sam, our day of planner, was wonderful as was her assistant. Our guests remarked that they had never had such a delicious meal at a wedding reception or frankly, any event! The passed appetizers were amazing and we had to restrain more than one guest from chasing the poor waitress around for more! The appetizers were plentiful and the filet mignon and stuffed haddock were cooked to perfection. The venue is so pretty and the dance floor was great. Staffing is tough at so many places this year but you would never know that at YGTC. They worked tirelessly to make it a perfect evening! Everything about that day went exactly as we wanted it to! Highly recommend!

Amazing venue! Amazing day! YGTC was the greatest decision we made for our big day. The grounds are absolutely stunning. Sam, Karen and the entire staff were perfect!! So helpful- they accommodated all of our requests and responded to calls and emails quickly. The bridal suite was awesome and a great place to start the day. We received so many compliments on the food and drinks! Filet, apps and raw bar went over very well with guests. I will absolutely recommend this venue to everyone!

York Golf and Tennis Club was absolutely amazing from the time we signed our contract to when we had to postpone due to COVID to actually getting to have our wedding. The entire staff was fantastic, Sam, our day of coordinator, and Karen, the banquet manager, did everything possible to make sure we had the best day. They made sure we ate, went to the best photo spots (made sure I was warm while we went to take photos!), and made everything absolutely seamless. The food was fantastic, the space was gorgeous, and the day was completely unbelievable. We got to finally have our wedding, which was amazing, but the team at YGTC made it the best day ever

We could have not asked for a more perfect venue. York Golf and Tennis captured everything we were looking for in our Maine wedding. The beautiful river view gave us that seaside vibe without breaking the bank and the old clubhouse had such warmth and character, a perfect combination of shabby chic and simple elegance. What's even better about the venue was the staff. Emily and her intern Sam were incredibly organized, attentive and helpful. They responded to our questions promptly, ensuring we had everything we needed in planning the big day. And on the day of the wedding, everything went seamlessly thanks to Emily's coordination and thoughfulness. I hope I get to return to York Golf and Tennis again someday, next time as a wedding guest!

Just the right blend of rustic charm and understated elegance, YGTC provided a beautiful, quintessentially Maine setting for my daughter's ceremony and wedding reception on August 7th, 2021. Our guests, many of them who came from afar, found the location as enchanting as we did on an idyllic summer's day. The staff is truly exceptional, especially Event Coordinator Emily Beales who went above and beyond to satisfy our bride and groom's every request and worked tirelessly to fulfill our vision. (I don't think I ever had a question that she did not respond to within 10 minutes time. ) We also must compliment the chef who presented an amazing raw bar and hors d'oeuvres enough to feed an army, followed by 88 perfectly steamed lobsters and another 80 perfectly done, medium rare filet mignons. (I've attended enough events to know that this is not an easy trick.) Finally, we loved the river views and the high ceilinged ballroom perfect for a night of dancing! Very happy with our choice.

Hannah and the team at York Golf and Tennis were a true pleasure to work with. No matter what we requested, the response was always, ‘of course!’ The team was very helpful leading up to the wedding and did everything they could to make sure the day went smoothly. The food was provided by the chef at the venue and was very good - our guests were complimentary of the food and service. They will let you take pictures around the venue and even drive you around in a golf cart to make it easy. Finally - the venue is absolutely gorgeous. The views of the river are great, and the clubhouse that is used for the receptions is amazing and a unique space that comfortably fit our 170+ guests.

Our wedding reception at the York Golf & Tennis Club was a dream come true. From the moment we stepped foot into the venue we knew it was the place for us. The building itself is alive with character and the grounds present endless opportunities for postcard-worthy photos. The York Golf & Tennis club is a truly unique place that will give your guests an experience they won’t get at any other wedding. That’s just the physical structure itself – and then there’s the people. Out of the many people involved in our planning process – Hannah is the one person who had the biggest impact on our day. She takes the time to get to know you as a couple, figure out exactly what you’re looking for, and will stop at nothing to make sure everything goes just the way you’d like it to. Throughout the course of the many months we were in contact I found there was no question Hannah didn’t have the answer to, or any change she couldn’t make happen. The day of was absolutely perfect! The food was truly special and delicious! Our guests can’t stop raving about the food and drinks – and I’ve heard time and again that the filet was the best they’ve ever had! An uncle of mine who travels quite a bit commented that the hospitality shown by the staff that day was the highest quality he’s ever run into. I couldn’t recommend the York Golf & Tennis Club enough for your special day!

I am so happy to be writing this review! We had our wedding and reception at YGTC last Saturday, 8.18.18. I can’t say I miss the planning aspect of preparing for a wedding, but I already miss YGTC. There is not a doubt in my mind that YGTC is the best wedding venue in New England. The venue itself had the most perfect country, ocean, CaPe Cod, coastal feel. I didn’t have to plan that many decorations or centerpieces because the building and surroundings were so gorgeous! Now onto the people..... absolutely amazing. Hannah was so easy, fun, and fabulous to work with! I sent her countless emails with many questions, all of which she answered in short time. She felt like another guest at my wedding and not just a coordinator. I might keep emailing her to check in because I am just not ready to part ways! She made sure every detail was perfect, eased my mind about weather, and just made sure I was having the night of my life. Now for the bartenders, the absolute sweetest! My sister put together a slideshow to play in the bar and when I went up to get a drink they complimented the pictures and told me how they enjoyed watching it all night! Our guests were texting us the next day telling us that they had a blast getting to know and talking with the bartenders! The waitstaff were all so helpful and always made sure our drinks and bellies were full. Our other vendors had nothing but positive things to say about everyone at YGTC. My new husband and I cannot stop talking about the whole experience and we are going to recommend them to all of our friends. I cannot think of a better place to go back and visit when we are in York and reminisce about the most beautiful place and the wonderful people that shared the best night of our lives with us. YOU MUST GET MARRIED HERE - but really though... We got married on June 23rd and it was the best day of our lives. We wouldn't have had such an amazing day without Hannah, Shawn, and the entire YGTC team - they're truly amazing. When buckets of rain fell on our wedding day, we were a little bummed, but YGTC handled it with such grace and made us feel at ease. When the back-up plan for your outdoor wedding ceremony is even better than you ever planned, you know you're in great hands!! It was an indoor set-up they had never done before, but their confidence & eagerness to try something new made us excited as well - and it was gorgeous! The culinary team there is very good - from a family that's filled with people that work in the Restaurant & Hospitality industry, they hit it out of the park. The food is carefully crafted and the service is very friendly and warm. It's as if they're opening up their home for the evening. Hannah was always one step ahead of everything, making sure that my husband and I had anything we needed before we even knew we needed it and her and her colleague, Elizabeth, were present throughout the evening. We also heard great things from the bartenders too - they were very popular people that night!! :) bottom line is, YGTC is an amazing venue, beautiful location and newly refreshed to give the room a fresh look - don't look anywhere else in Maine!! These people are top-notch & just get "it"

I got married at the York Golf and Tennis club Columbus Day weekend this year and despite fear of sounding cliché, it was the BEST day of my life! The crew at YG&TC has so much to do with how amazing the day was. I wanted to break down this review into a few important categories… Décor: YG&TC allows you to bring in your own decorations, which is great, but the clubhouse is so beautiful on its own it hardly needs any additions! They recently redid all of the floors and carpets and it looks phenomenal. Communication: Brenna and Shawn were always available and responsive. As the day got closer I found myself sending multiple emails each day to Brenna and Shawn and they would always get back to me with the information or at least let me know they were looking into my questions. Knowing your coordinators are actually reading and acting on your emails is such a huge relief. Setting: it is right on the York River, can’t get much better! The venue has so many different and quintessential “Maine” backdrops which are perfect for pictures. We had some family that had never been to Maine and after seeing this venue are already planning a trip back for next summer, it’s just that beautiful! Food/Drink: A huge plus about YG&TC is that the kitchen is right in the venue, which means no transporting the food, steam tables or overcooked meat! The food was not only plentiful (plenty of passed apps and dinner portions were huge!) but delicious. Our guests were joking that they would need to be rolled out of the place! We have had lots of people tell us how incredible the food was. We were able to work with the chef and customize our dinner selections and they were perfect. All-in-all, I would do it again at York Golf and Tennis Club in a heartbeat! Thank you all so, so much for making our wedding so memorable for not only us, but our guests as well.

I cannot say enough amazing things about YGTC. From the beginning, Brenna & Shawn were super helpful with tours, food tastings, creating our menu, and the actual wedding itself. They worked with our budget to tweak some things with the catering to make it work for us and in my opinion it was all worth every penny. Our guests swooned over the beautiful location, building, and delicious food all night.. as did we!

The most amazing experience! Our guests have not stopped talking about our wedding here from last weekend. From my 81 year old grandpa to all our old friends from college- all obsessed. The venue has so much character and set on the York River so the views are peaceful and perfect for photos. The sneak peek pics we have gotten back from our photographer are amazing. The dance floor is a great size yet the whole place is intimate so it was perfect- almost every single guest was dancing and partying! You have the ability to decorate as you wish but the place has this gorgeous cloth draping with lights over the dance floor and a gorgeous birch arbor which make planning easy. The staff is responsive, so professional and accommodating. The food was amazing. There is plenty of parking for guests there. The bar area is a great size. We had 160 guests and it was perfect. The staff even set up a pop up beer and wine bar upon request for us for the front deck just to make getting a drink easy. This is the perfect venue for a Maine wedding and I could not be happier with how it all came together. We did have great weather for mid October and had our ceremony outside but I was not stressing at all knowing my plan B for rain , having the ceremony held inside on the dance floor, would have been just as great. The value is absolutely there as well and I did a TON of research- you just can not go wrong here! :)
