This is a family owned business. I love seeing others have fun and to be a part of that is such a gratifying experience. Steve was very responsive and punctual. A few areas for improvement would be following the requested attire and sticking to the agreed-upon music playlist; at one point, children’s...
music was played, which was not part of our agreement. Aside from that, Steve was attentive, arrived on time, and attended the rehearsal to walk through the procession and ceremony. His DJ setup was also nice. I think for the price it could have went a little better.

rs and introduce the couple, he’s your guy. The most popular songs are probably what your guests want to hear anyway.  The bad: I was told that he had his music downloaded and didn’t need service or internet to function. When he showed up he couldn’t set up where we needed him to because he needed to be connected to the wifi. He also told my family and guests to get off the wifi so he could get set up.  Another major issue was that we had a very  detailed contract that he had weeks before the wedding, including what special things we were doing that needed to be announced, songs and artists to play, and what not to play. He did not follow it AT ALL.  He just played whatever he plays at every other wedding I guess.  There were repeat songs throughout the night, times where he skipped to the next song when people were obviously enjoying what was being played, and periods of silence with nothing playing at all.   Brides, don’t waste your money. If you’re on a budget, get a speaker and make your own playlist. It’s not worth it.

uge wind and rain storm come through and it was raining sideways. The tent I was under begin to leak onto my $4000 controller and other equipment .Most DJs would have packed up and stopped due to the expensive equipment.in fact it is in the contract if inclement weather conditions come and equipment is danger, we stop the performance. I did play Spotify and I did use my tablet because I had to move what I could inside another tent with it still raining , which I moved as one speaker inside Hooked a mic and a tablet up to it so we can still make announcement and play music I could not use my controller and turntables and laptop because the set up was soaking wet. The Dj booth blew over breaking my 65 inch display on the front of the Dj booth. The lighting was soaking wet. I am sorry that she was not happy with the service but in actuality, I went the extra mile to make sure that you had MUSIC when I could’ve packed up and left. I have videos of the event if anyone reading would like to see them to give context to this situation. I understand your expectations was high as they should be, but it was an outdoor wedding and a storm not in the forecast come so we did our best. Thank you for the Review. I wish you guys the best. As to the repeated songs I have a video of someone in bridal party asking for a song, I said just played it she clearly says it’s ok the bride wasn’t here, and my form the detailed form gives me the info like first dances and introduction of bridal party things like that, I do not go in that order I go in the order your coordinator has setup, I’m not the coordinator that’s just information I need for when those events during ceremony occurs.

Steve has been a regular DJ @ my venue.. He is always early and prepared... My clients love him and I highly recommend him.. He doesn't disappoint!!!

We found Yost entertainment on the knot. I was looking for someone in WV bc I live in VA and my son was getting married in WV. We msg Steve and he was quick to respond and answered...
any and all questions. He was very easy to wk with and if we had any questions at all even up to the day of the event he was very quick to respond and answer. He did an excellent job in providing everything that we needed or wanted for the ceremony and for our guest to dance/listen to. I would highly recommend Steve aka DJ Smoke for any event you may have for your entertainment needs.

uipment - he has a light show, a video screen where he displayed our logo, wireless mics available, and a 360 camera that the kids love. Music - he took a playlist up front and also had a QR code for requests. If a song wasn’t working - he moved on to the next one. He could read the crowd! I’ll be hitting him up again!

DJ was awesome! He originally had to fill in for my other DJ who was sick. He did an amazing job jumping into it and making sure everyone had a wonderful night!
