We went with Your Dream Filmworks because of the fair pricing and John's unique style which fit best with what we were looking for in a wedding video. While researching, it seemed like all the videographers in our Indy area and price range offered theatrical or social media style highlight reel video packages of varying length only, which was not our vibe. We wanted everything to be captured and immortalized in a classic bystander/POV way. John was the only one I could find that does this, for an affordable price.
John recorded the entire ceremony and reception and everything in between, and he even drove 30 minutes to our house to conduct an interview with us prior to the wedding day to capture our love story and show the pre-wedding madness as his standard package, which we love! He also has larger packages with highlight reels and other add-ons, but we felt the base package suited us best after talking with John in our initial meetup. We did choose to add on the cocktail hour interviews/stories at the last minute and John was happy to accommodate for us. Totally worth it, very entertaining!
He also provided beautiful aerial footage of the ceremony and reception grounds with his drone and captured some candid footage for us pre-ceremony. Our total video length is almost 3 hours long from a 7 hour event. The ceremony portion of the video had great angles and John even overlaid a close up of the groom's face as the bride was walking down the aisle, so you can see both of us as we see each other for the first time.
He even knew and had worked with our photographer, Jasmine Norris before. It was both reassuring and heartwarming to see them both be excited to work together on the wedding day. They worked together like a well oiled machine. Very professional and still able to have fun at the same time. John also went above and beyond to help our DJ with the AV equipment setup and calibration on the day of the wedding to make sure the sound quality was top notch, and it was. The video quality is in 4K and the sound is high quality as well! Absolutely amazing! The extra lav mics are definitely needed!
We are so grateful we chose Your Dream Filmworks. I can't imagine a better choice is out there if I'm being perfectly honest. Along with John being a joy to talk to and work with, he is a professional above all else, and I will be recommending him to friends and family who are getting married or having another big event in the future. e from on what "type" of video, how much coverage, one vs. two videographers, etc. We elected to get the biggest package, which included a highlight video and coverage for our entire day. Throughout the planning process, he stayed in touch and gathered the information he needed. On our wedding day, he was professional, benevolent, and a pleasure to have in the room with us ... from pre-ceremony to reception. When we received our highlight video and full length video back, we could not have been more pleased. The highlight video perfectly captured the day in a little over two minutes and the full length video is EXACTLY what we will love to pull out in 5, 10, 50 years down the road to remember our day. For that, I could not be more thankful!

get all of the raw footage so we could make our own highlight video, he was very open to the idea and happily took care of us. Couldn't hope for a better partner for our big day.
However, when we got our video DVD/Blu-Ray, the film of the ceremony itself was VERY unstable. As if the image stabilization was off the entire time. As he moved with the mobile camera, it bounced up and down quite a lot, and cuts between shots were sometimes in the middle of sentences. It felt very herky-jerky. He stayed towards the back of the ceremony behind the guests, so there weren't any good close ups, and some shots were blocked by guests' heads or bodies. Due to our wedding style, we did not use his microphone, so it was hard to hear us, but I don't fault him that. That was our decision, so I encourage anyone to use their videographers mic to make sure your ceremony is picked up. Overall though, the video didn't seem as professional as we'd hoped.
He is a great person to work with, and he offers fair quality - what we got was expected for the lower price compared to competitors. Our wedding venue had a couple quirks that made things difficult, but we still expected something a little more refined for the money we paid.

When we met John, we felt immediately at ease and knew right away he would be fun, yet professional. He went above and beyond to ensure he captured all the great shots and moments. Our long video was amazing to see. He caught different conversations from family members, had different angles during the ceremony and even interviewed us about how we met. That's going to be so fun to look back on when we are old and gray! My most favorite part was our short video set to the song of our choice. I have watched it numerous times and it always brings a smile (and sometimes happy tears) to me anytime I see it. It seriously could not be more perfect. Having a videographer (namely, Wakim Dream Productions), is going to be the best move you make....other than marrying your love, of course!
