ed a father daughter mix and provided the songs to Johnny and he sent me back a mix to review. My dad does not live in the same state as me so we didn't get to practice until the night before the wedding and we quickly figured out that one of the songs wasn't going to work. I emailed Safiyyah at around 1030 pm to change the song. Her and Johnny made it happen and the father daughter dance was great. Everyone loves it. He kept the party going and all my guest had a blast. A good DJ makes or breaks a party and with your KC DJ you will never have to worry about your event being a bust.

ANTASTIC job done by Your KC DJ! It was very evident that Johnny enjoys what he does and it can be felt by the guests. I was very laissez faire when it came to my wedding in general. Safiyyah and Johnny were patient during my consultation and did a great job ushering me towards the mood that I wanted as I found it hard to express in words. Some of the equipment provided by them overlapped that which was provided by other vendors. Your KC DJ stepped in and substituted equipment that I didn't originally have for no charge to make sure that I was getting the most for my money. They are organized, professional, fun, and all around amazing! Five stars doesn't do them justice!

remember how noisy & busy it was & we both were feeling overwhelmed. And yet through all of the hustle & bustle & wandering around, I can TOTALLY recall coming to a complete stop & saying to my then unofficial fiancé, "Hold up!! Where's that music coming from?!?" And that's when we found the Your KC DJ booth. The minute we stepped foot into their booth, I had a deja vu moment & while that was happening, DJ Johnny Quest, I kid you not, song after song played MY jams. And yes, I started dancing in their both...NO SHAME! #truestory I told my then unofficial fiancé that if we walked away w/ ANYTHING from that wedding extravaganza, we HAVE TO HAVE this DJ as our DJ for our wedding. He agreed & Your KC DJ WAS our AWESOME & AMAZING DJ at our wedding!!! They were WONDERFUL & VERY PROFESSIONAL to work w/ from the beginning. They also & ESPECIALLY were VERY helpful in giving us advice on things to consider for our reception & they made sure that our special requests were honored. Our family & friends still to this day are raving about how AWESOME our DJ was. They were also extremely organized and professional. Working with both Safiyyah and Johnny was a pleasant and stress free experience. We only had to meet with them twice and Safiyyah was very responsive to emails. They did a fabulous job of "feeling out" the personalities of my fiancé and I and our friends. We had a few hectic last minute changes on our wedding day and Johnny The DJ Quest worked with us professionally and accordingly. I would HIGHLY recommend you use Your KC DJ!!! After meeting with some of the DJ services we left feeling like we were back in a lecture hall in college....just another number (or $ sign if you will). But with this husband and wife team, it was quite the contrary. I originally selected your KC DJ because they use Bose speakers. They have clean lines and produce an amazing sound. I am a very aesthetic person by nature so I didn't want huge box speakers that you see at concerts in all of our photos. When you plan a wedding, you have to think about everything, and the clean lines that the speakers and his set-up created were just one of the multiple details that we paid attention too. Once we sat down to meet with Johnny The DJ Quest and his wife, Safiyyah, we immediately knew that we were going to select them. They were real people and showed a genuine interest in ensuring that OUR day was perfect. You could tell that they weren't after the bottom line as their main priority. They are professional people with great personalities and are able to understand "your vibe" and translate that into a music set. We told them that we wanted it to be a party from the start, since our wedding only included close friends & immediate family. We didn't want to have anyone sitting down. And they delivered and then some. We were also given permission to contact them whenever, which we took full advantage of; even changing the order of some things a couple of days before the ceremony. Their responses were prompt and even gave us some good suggestions which helped create the flow of the night. We gave Johnny a lot of freedom, because we trusted him. You can tell that he is a very creative person & has a passion for not only his profession, but also for his clients. And to add on top of all this, they asked us for permission to film some of the reception since they were working on a promotional film & my wife jokingly said, "you can have them film the entire day if you want." Just some backstory here, we had to move the wedding up a year due to health issues with my wife's mom & being that her dad passed away from brain cancer 4 years ago, it was imperative that her mom be there to walk her down the isle. So we were unable to hire a videographer due to this and some other extenuating circumstances. But I digress, Safiyyah called my wife a couple of days later and informed her that they were going to have the videographer film the entire day for us (in association with NMG studios- check them out to if you need a videographer! Great people!!). This sent my wife to tears because it reminded her that there are still a lot of good people in the world. This was a true testament to how much your KC DJ care about their clients. They went above and beyond to ensure that we would remember this day for the rest of our lives. Our wedding day, 10.10.14, has come and gone, but we still have people talking about the wedding and how much fun they had. The music was spot on and everyone danced from the beginning to the end. It was perfect. Selecting your KC DJ was perfect. So, Johnny The DJ Quest & Safiyyah, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts. We will forever be the strongest proponents of you guys!

I told her what I was looking for and she new the perfect people to set me up with. Then there is Johnny The DJ Quest. What an amazing person!! He asked what type of music we loved and he was able to create the perfect playlist for the wedding. John's energy is electric and he is a master at his craft! I could sing parts of song that I didn't know the name of and he knew excatly the song I was thinking of. He has a love for music and it shows!! Over all I was very satisfied with Safiyyah and John's service and attention to detail. They both cared about my wedding day and it showed. I wish I could give more than 5 stars because they helped make my wedding day perfect!!!

She had all of my requests of songs that I wanted to be played and even helped choose some songs that we struggled with. During our whole event, Johnny the DJ Quest was wonderful! We had different genres of music since our families are so diverse, and everything flowed together perfectly. He played all the right songs at the right moment, no hiccups! What I loved most about him was his interaction with the crowd! I've been to several weddings and I've seen the DJ stay at their booth and speak when they had to, but not him! After we received the referral to Your KC DJ, they invited us to their office/studio which immediately put them a step above compared to the coffee-house meetings we had with others… DJ Johnny and the Director of Ops, Saffiyah were extremely professional in every meeting, email, and phone call. We knew from our first meeting, Johnny The DJ Quest was our guy! From our initial meeting, both DJ Johnny and Saffiyah made efforts to get to know me and my husband, our relationship and the overall atmosphere we were trying to create at the wedding. They were accommodating to every requests we had (even very last minute requests!), they were creative, worked well with our other vendors and DJ Johnny was comfortable with running the party. From our ceremony, to cocktail reception, dinner, and the main party, he did an awesome job. My husband even said he was the best and his favorite vendor to work with! We have been asked numerous times who our DJ was and we would recommend Your KC DJ to anyone! If you’re looking for a great party, a fun and professional DJ, then look no more! C DJ was perfect! They had amazing up-lighting to match our decor, the classic turntable DJ look, and played absolute perfect mixes that kept the party going all night long! nd how much fun they had!!! From the onset, DJ Johnny (and Safiyyah) made sure to find out from both the groom and myself what are musical tastes were and what type of atmosphere we wanted to create. They helped us make sense of our "all over the board" tastes and were able to incorporate a little bit of everything we loved... from old school Hip Hop/R&B, to the oldies, Top 20 and even gave me a little Celine Dion. From the cocktail reception, dinner, and the main party, the music flowed and got everyone on the dance floor! They created memories that we and our guests will remember for a lifetime! They are the best combination of FUN and professionalism! If you're looking for the BEST Party EVER, then look no more!

w hubby thought John was the greatest mixer he had seen yet. We booked them on the spot and knew from the very beginning working with them would be amazing. WE WERE RIGHT!!! The overall experience was AMAZING. Safiyyah sent emails regularly to check in on how things were going while John went above and beyond to meet with us and create the perfect wedding playlist! (He even mixed the most amazing mother-son and father-daughter dances!) They worked perfectly with my wedding planner to make our special day nothing but perfect. At the wedding people raved about how great John was! We are still receiving compliments weeks after the wedding. There is not a better DJ to work with in the KC area. John and Safiyyah will make your day perfect! I know there are plenty of DJ's out there that are extra cheezy or over the top... this is not one of them! This company will personalize your experience and make it something you will never forget! We will definitely book them for all future events and would recommend you do the same :)

The only criticisms we have are minor: we requested them not to take requests from guests but they played a few anyways including a couple on our 'do not play' list. The flow was good but I found the DJ's choice of timing to request a testimonial unprofessional. The moment the song my wife and I were suppose to leave the reception to started playing the DJ asked us to step outside the reception to record a testimonial for their services; I thought this should have been done earlier. To their credit they seemed slightly short-handed. We were under the impression that the pair normally works together but for our event only DJ Quest was present. I think having some communication assistance with our Matron of Honor would have helped him out. I'd recommend their services, just be very clear about expectations and they'll do a great job for you.
