part of the makeup process by picking the different colors as we went along. Even though when we were finished with my hair and makeup, I decided I didn't like the lipstick I had chosen, Dorothy was kind enough to change it for me without being rude or offended by my decision. This is truly the best MUA I could ever recommend.

I'll start with my bridals...we showed up at her studio which is adorable decorated and quaint. I was hesitant but she convinced me that airbrush makeup would look best for pictures. She was right...my skin looked flawless! I have pretty clear skin already, but it was just beautiful for the portraits. She did my hair exactly how I asked and it stayed intact from 9am-9pm- ALL DAY! I knew that day that we had made the right decision by hiring Dorothy for hair & makeup...I felt gorgeous.
I offered my (9) bridesmaids and the in-laws the opportunity to hire Dorothy for their hair or makeup (or both) since she was already going to be there on the wedding day for my mother and me. We had about 10 girls and mothers use her and Elise for hair and makeup services that day. It was a blast! We all hung out in my mother-in-law's hotel suite with mimosas all day while everyone got beautified! A few of the girls weren't 100% satisfied with their hair because they felt she didn't use enough bobby pins or that their curls weren't "Kardashian" enough. My hair (curls) became flat right after the ceremony which wasn't good, but I'm not sure if that was due to the Houston humidity or not enough hair spray. Regardless, everyone looked perfect and I felt like a glamorous rock star! That's how a bride should feel on her big day!
I definitely think makeup is their strong suit, but I'd recommend them to any bride-to-be and her maids anytime. Plus, Dorothy was a TV star ;)

d she really knows exactly what she is doing. I have extremely thin hair and have to wear clip in extensions...she made my hair look so perfect in the trial run we had. Her relaxed and laid back attitude calmed me down so much as i figured my hair wouldn't look as nice as I wanted it to on my wedding day....she went above and beyond my expectations.
I had to make last minute changes and changes to the contract about a week before the wedding...Dorothy was not only super patient, but really accommodating as well! She quoted getting to the hotel with another artist at about 12:45pm the day of the wedding and was right on time! I cannot remember the other artists name, but she was amazing as well. Her and Dorothy got through all 6 of my bridesmaids in no time, took amazing care of my grandmother and mother..the other artist handled all the little hair touch ups for the girls as they asked her while Dorothy worked on me...so patient, it was incredible!
Dorothy did a PERFECT job on my makeup. Everything was flawless. Even my photographer asked me who did my makeup and commented on how perfect it was...in my opinion, it's really saying something when a professional photographer makes a comment about a makeup job, but that is just me.
if you want to look gorgeous on your day, this is who you want to trust with your face and hair....ALSO-when i was at her studio, she has pictures of before and after tattoo coverup pictures...she did something for a girl who had a whole back piece (dark colors-blacks, blues, reds)...the after picture looked as though there had never been anything there in the first place, totally amazing. So if you have tattoos that you want covered at your wedding, Dorothy's got you :)

They were always timely, organized and compared to what other companies charge, a big bang for your buck. Believe me, I research and called MANY vendors to get pricing. I checked several places, Dorothy's price was a little more than the rest, but once I talked to her and saw that she was listening to all of my concerns, and answered them all, I knew she was the one I wanted. The contract was signed and the down payment was made. She arrived right on time, very professional, yet very friendly and comfortable to be around. She would then go to work, WOW what a beautiful job she did on my daughter and I. She told me there is a difference between someone who applies makeup and "A Makeup Artist" and now I am convinced. Looked very natural yet elegant. Makeup stayed on through the whole evening. WORTH EVERY PENNEY.

I didn't do the trial run so I was still a bit nervous on my wedding day. Tonya showed up promptly!! This was extremely important to me. She basically was asking me about things that I liked, colors that I like to wear, etc. I was still nervous sitting in the chair, hoping and praying!!

or farther or just unreasonable. My b-mainds paid to have my make up done as a present. I liked Dorthory and her place in highlands was uber girlie! I could not believe that just a town over was a make up artist! She listened to what everyone liked and disliked and we all looked tottally beautiful. Only reason I gave her four stars was because she was late after the contract said if any of us girls were than she charged for that. May be i should have got $50 off lol! If you live in baytown, crosby, highlands or somewhere small check her out.
