He even reached out to our wedding coordinator to walk through the venue and ensure he had everything needed to make our wedding day a success. We had a wedding on land and a reception on a catamaran at sea. Teddy put together a small set-up that could quickly transition between venues, and created an enclosure to protect his equipment from sea spray during our sunset sail/dance party on the water. He listened to our wants/style, made custom cuts of special songs, and communicated clearly to all of our guests so they would know what to do and where to be throughout the day. We are so grateful for everything he did and would recommend him 100 times over for future events.

Hiring them was without a doubt the best money we could’ve spent toward our wedding and would spend it 5 times over to have them there.

At this point, it didn’t feel like we were taking to just our DJ, but also a friend. He was so kind and patient with us during our scrambling to figure out what we would do next. Up until our wedding in 2021, Teddy was nothing but a lifesaver and would always check in with us to keep us on track. During the whole process, my husband and I decided to ask for Aurora’s day of coordinator services as well. And let me tell you that she is so much more than that. Like Teddy, she spent hours helping us plan and organize our wedding. She helped us find quotes, ask questions, and make our dream wedding come to life. Even on our wedding day, her quick thinking and flexibility helped us navigate the day (especially when the sprinklers made the ground too wet to walk through). Aurora was a dependable presence throughout the night. Overall, Teddy and Aurora became much more than a DJ and Day of Coordinator. They became our friends and made our wedding even more special than we could have imagined.

Teddy is absolutely professional and understanding, and has been that way with us and everyone else who I have referred to him. I know there is a review on here saying Teddy is unprofessional, or not caring, because of Covid-19, and based on my experience with him during this time, he has been nothing but a stand-up-guy! Very understanding, caring, and professional. I understand that the global pandemic is causing a lot of people to reschedule their plans, and freak out, but YourMixMaui is a professional business, and Teddy has been nothing but professional with us (and everyone I’ve ever referred to him), before and during this time. When you sign the contract for his services, you understand what the rules are. Don’t be mad, when he’s simply abiding by the contract. Teddy is not your normal (lazy) DJ that you will find on Maui. Teddy is almost like a wedding planner and DJ and counselor in one. You really get what you pay for in Hawaii, and if you want professional and above and beyond service, you hire Teddy! He is very detail oriented, and goes above and beyond in making customized playlists for his clients. In fact, his calls can sometimes feel like therapy sessions as he really works to understand what you like and why, and what you want out of your event, and what you want it to look, sound, and feel like, etc so that he can do his part (and more) to make your event as memorable and enjoyable as possible. He is such a stand-up guy that his clients become his friends! And is one of the most (if not the most) talented DJ’s in the state! Most DJ’s just show up, play some songs that they think you’ll like to hear (without actually checking with you first), and then hit the road. One and done, kind of a feeling. Not with Teddy! Teddy is incredibly organized and keeps everything on track (which is why we use him for every event we throw on Maui). As we’ve used Teddy at multiple events over the last few years, I can tell you that his communication with us is top-notch throughout the entire process (before, during, and after). His equipment is top-notch as well, which allows for a very enjoyable experience (nothing is muffled, and he is always prepared for emergencies should something accidently malfunction – which it never has, during our events). She gave me a contact and after talking to Teddy for about 5 minutes, I already knew that he was the DJ for our wedding and we would be flying him over to the Big Island for our wedding. We set up another call for Teddy to talk with myself and my fiance at the same time and we hired him on the spot. He is super friendly, organized and easy to talk to. He took notes after every phone call and sent us his notes and even made a timeline for our wedding. He is super professional and super affordable. I couldn't believe that even with his airfare and hotel accommodations, he was still more affordable than most of the DJS I talked to on the Big Island. Teddy was awesome. I was super excited to meet Teddy the day of our wedding because we built a friendship in the months leading up to the big day. Teddy, you will always be a huge memory of our wedding. We love you and will always have you for any party we throw!! If you are searching for a DJ, you will not be disappointed with Teddy!! We had a blast and so did all of our guests!

Every single guest genuinely said that ours was one of the best weddings they’ve ever attended, and Teddy was a huge ingredient in this. nth. To my surprise, Teddy stepped up and was a pseudo wedding planner for a while which made me feel immensely better. Thanks to him we had a detailed timeline which the photographer had been asking for; he educated us about how the day would play out and where we'd be walking to/from/around (he was very familiar with the venue). He even gave us tips on how to save money here and there, and when we asked him for his opinion about anything (music choice? dance floor or not? type of lighting? mics or not?) he didn't give the boring "It's your wedding, whatever you want" but actually gave insightful answers that came from a logistical background but still took into account my tastes and style. I was worried that with a small 10-person wedding that his light-up DJ booth and floodlight setup would feel "too much" for such a small wedding. He understood my concern, suggested a few things like using a warm white light instead of colors, and gently assured me that the overall setup would not feel too overwhelming, and he was 100% right. He was a lifesaver, working with our new planner to get her up to speed and with other vendors to ensure everyone was on the same page. He was very transparent in communication and extremely detailed. Aside from his planning skills, he also perfectly DJ'd the wedding, from ceremony to cocktail hour to dinner to dancing. He had a very good system of "must play" and "should play" songs and even pulled in some good throwback songs that we had forgotten about but that we were so glad he played! He had a good feel for the energy in the room and was able to keep the dancing going or get people to come to the dance floor. His voice was also very smooth through the speakers, fantastic! Teddy is directly responsible for keeping my stress level low and for making the day-of so fun. I will forever owe him for that :)

As an illustrative example, when the slide show that my husband and I prepared and submitted to our reception site had an error and wouldn't play music, Teddy was prepared with our songs and stepped in to supply the music without any problem or delay -- our guests didn't even know there was any problem! He was interactive and kept the mood throughout our reception fun, light, and celebratory. He was extremely organized and worked closely with us to plan out our day according to our wishes, and our reception was seamless as a result. I really cannot thank him enough for the time and effort he put into ensuring we had a beautiful day that reflected my husband and me perfectly. Additionally, he was an absolute joy and pleasure to work with. He was attentive, professional, and genuinely friendly, nice, and funny. He meshed with our personalities so well and was clearly invested in making our day the best it could be -- and he was very successful!
