Your Perfect Day Wedding Flowers

Short story - we paid $1700, and over a 5 month period, received no ideas for our wedding- and the vendor [Lisa] cancelled twice on us to meet to discuss our wedding. When we decided to part ways, she said she would refund us. She instead spent our money and never refunded us. So, I am leaving a review as a warning to other brides. Long Story: Our experience with this vendor (Lisa) was dismal. We contacted her in September 2022 and decided to work with her based on other reviews. We gave Lisa our ideas for our wedding and paid a $100 deposit to hold our date for a May 2023 wedding. We heard nothing further from her until late December when we received an email saying we were past due for nearly $1600. This was the first time we had gotten a bill from her for that amount. We contacted Lisa who quickly reassured us that we weren't past due at all. But could we please pay immediately anyway? My fiance and I figured it was just after Christmas and everyone needed their money, so we paid her ASAP. She assured us that she was working on our floral wedding designs. Fast forward to February 2023 when my fiance reached out to meet up with Lisa in person, and see what she was working on for us. She gave us her home address to meet to discuss our wedding. I guess the first hint that maybe this is a hobby for the owner and not a serious business pursuit would be that she works out of her house for her floral business. The home address ended up being a problem bc she canceled our first meeting with her due to her family being sick at home. (It would have been better for her to meet us at a coffee shop in that case.) At any rate - we rescheduled our meeting with her. She then contacted us to say she had a family emergency and couldn't meet us for the rescheduled meeting. She also told us she wasn't sure when she would come back - but that she "had everything under control". At this point, we told Lisa that we needed to finalize wedding plans with our vendors and still had yet to see one idea for our wedding from her, after $1700 and 5 months of waiting. We asked if she had anyone else who could help us. There was no one. So, we told her we would not be able to work with her for our wedding. She told us she would refund our money that we had paid. However, nearly 3 weeks later, when she returned home from her family emergency - she told us she had spent all of our money and couldn't refund us. She also made no effort to give us any supplies that she had bought with our money. So, from our standpoint - it looks like she scammed us out of $1700. Lucky for her - we're still too busy planning our wedding to sue for our money back but we still have the texts from her saying she'd refund us.
