Unbelievably professional and helpful human being, and the photos were truly stunning! Zak was our first and probably only choice for photography. From the very first exploratory call to the checkins throughout the wedding planning process, his recommendations and guidance were such an immense help! He was borderline our wedding planner at times, and with his experience, we truly got exactly what we wanted for our day. He was courteous, professional, and seemingly everywhere all at once, capturing all of "those" moments that I didn't even think would have been shot. I can not recommend Zak more for literally any event. He was incredible. The photos too - personal, fun, professional, unbelievably well-shot, and never overly posed or forced. It felt so natural to have him around with the bridesmaids, groomsmen, family, friends, and all of our guests. It was such a relief knowing that our wedding was being captured by such a consummate professional, and what he shot truly makes our day last forever.

Zak was seriously the best photographer during our wedding day!!!! Zak photographed my brothers wedding a few years ago and his kindness. dedication to his craft and his beautiful photos stuck with me. As soon as we got engaged, I knew I wanted to book him for my own wedding! We did our engagement shoot with Zak we have never had professional photos together at that time and Zack and he made us feel so comfortable during the experience. Doing the engagement shoot really eased us into feeling comfortable with the camera and set us up for success for our wedding day! We had many calls with Zak before the wedding day to make sure we were aligned. Throughout the wedding day, Zak and his colleague Eric made us feel so relaxed and confident! They went to the venue early to scope out the best place for the first look and made sure me and the groom didn't see each other before our first look. Zak truly has amazing ideas for photos and made it all seamless. He made sure I got all of the photos I wanted throughout the whole day and was so lovely to work with! We are so happy with our sneak peak and I cannot wait to see them all! I would 100% recommend booking Zak Zavada Photography!!!!

His thoughtful approach to photography on our special day was nothing short of professional in addition producing the highest quality photos while utilizing the best quality gear to capture each moment throughout the day. Zak and Brian did such a phenomenal job on our wedding at the Stroudsmoor Country Inn. We got married 10/21/23 and the attention to detail and care they put into their work was one of the high points of the wedding. Zak was able to take charge when he needed to and he always focused on the happiness of us. He didn’t let anyone make decisions for us. That was huge because other vendors didn’t give us the same courtesy. The photos came out so beautifully as well. We are beyond thrilled with the quality. I even texted Zak and asked him to fix some stuff about the pictures and it was no issue at all for him. If you get anyone but Zak for your wedding you will be missing out because not many people put this much love into their work.

A few months before my wedding, I lost my mom, which naturally made the day bittersweet for me. Zak was beyond supportive and receptive to what I was comfortable with that day - he didn’t push us to do take photos we weren’t comfortable with, listened to what we were hoping to get, and was super respective when he saw I was getting overwhelmed. Zak made the whole experience feel comfortable, and I can’t express how grateful I am to have worked with someone who truly met me where I was. I highly recommend for literally anything.

I found Zak through the Knot when I was looking for a wedding photographer. To say I was blown away would be an understatement. He did our engagement photos first, and we were floored by how stunning they were. He knew exactly how to get us comfortable and made the whole process so easy. I couldn't have asked for a better photographer for our wedding day. Zak is the consummate professional. In our first conversation, he took the time to walk me through everything, all the options, what my wedding vision was, pricing, etc. In the few months in between, he was always available for questions, and possible changes. The day of, he and his team were just wonderful. He was able to capture everything in such a crisp, natural way. We have so many gorgeous photos and video that we will be able to treasure forever! I honestly cannot say enough amazing things about Zak. Due to my schedule we never met in person until the day of my wedding, but we immediately clicked. He is such a genuinely nice person and made the day SO much fun. I chose Zak because I loved the quality of his photos and the gorgeous aesthetic photos he takes. I like that he doesn't make you take a lot of cheesy photos, but takes enough for you to get the PERFECT photos. I was blown away by how fast he got the photos back to me. Zak also went around to other couples and people at the wedding and listened to their stories, connected with everything, and made the evening so special. I honestly wish I could do the day all over again to have Zak be my photographer haha. Seriously, if you want the BEST for your wedding, choose Zak!!

My Fiancée hired Zak to shoot the proposal and he and Kristen did such a great job! I didn’t seem them before my Fiancée started to propose. Following the moment they gave me some time to collect myself and then we had a quick photo shoot with poses led by Zak. He had shot at the location before so he knew where to get the best angles and views of the water fall at The Ledges Hotel. Zak and Kristen were so warm and nice and we felt super comfortable during our shoot. Pictures were back to us the next day and they were absolutely stunning! The edits were super natural just the way we like it. Kristen and Zak did a wonderful job of catching our special moment and I couldn’t recommend them enough

We hired Zak and also his team Nate and Shay for our wedding. The first time I looked at the sample photos on Zak's website, I knew this was the style of photography I would want to have for my big day. So glad we made this choice!! First of all, Zak always listens to our needs and thoughts, addresses all our questions to the best, and provides practical advice based on his rich wedding photography experience. As a tradition of our culture, couples take portrait photos with formal wedding clothes a couple of months before the big day. Zak was more than happy to adapt to this request, and drove more than two hours to the destination that we would like to do it. When I expressed to him how we would really like to have longer videos for our wedding, Zak recommended the videographers Nate and Shay, who could provide what exactly we were looking for. Also, we are constantly impressed by his expertise, and the thoughts and efforts he devoted to producing the perfect photos. He captured the best moments of sunlight, scenery, and our loving interactions. He made all the efforts himself to make sure the background was set up in the perfect way. He led us through our first portraits session as a couple and then second, and both my husband and I had a lot of fun in this process. His photos are candid and natural, but at the same time have all the artistic elements that I can ask for. And with all the high quality of work, the turnaround is fast!! You won't regret choosing Zak and his team for your event!

Where do I even begin! Zak and his team are absolutely incredible. They made every interaction from our first phone call to the wedding day through sending us the final photos feel special, joyful, and something to look forward to. Similar to other reviews, Zak not only took amazing pictures of my husband and I that captured our day perfectly but went above and beyond by taking stunning candids and portraits of our guests. Our wedding day went so incredibly smoothly and was as close to perfect as we could've asked for, and Zak played a huge role in accomplishing this. He is very professional and has a demeanor and calming presence that made us so relaxed and allowed us to be "in the moment" all day long. We had as much fun with him as we did with guests! Our photos were returned to us within two weeks and they are absolutely stunning. He gave us easy directions in order to capture photos which we will cherish forever. We truly could not say enough about Zak. My husband and I had a very unique situation and needed to elope last summer while postponing our party with family and friends to this winter. If there was one thing that made our day go smoothly for our elopement, believe it or not, it was ZAK. He was so incredible that we asked him to do our celebration party this winter as well. Zak was beyond amazing. Due to a last minute cancellation, we ended up hiring Zak the week of our wedding - I couldn’t be happier things ended up the way they did! Zak made us feel so comfortable and really made the process of getting our photos taken fun and enjoyable. We received many complements on his professionalism and how phenomenal he was. He even offered to pick up happy meals when our caterer forgot the meals we’d ordered for the children at our wedding - if that doesn’t speak to the kind of person Zak is, I don’t know what does.

Amazing to work with! Zak was our first vendor chosen for our wedding, and we could not have been happier with this decision. He was responsive, clearly communicative, set expectations early, and helped to guide us as we tried to figure out what exactly we needed, helping us feel very comfortable. Alex, Zak, and Kristen were nothing short of amazing. Our wedding and engagement photos turned out absolutely beautiful. Alex made my husband and I both feel very comfortable in front of a camera. HIGHLY RECOMMEND! Zak is very easy going and fun to work with! He takes all of your ideas into consideration and makes the pictures even better than you imagined. He made sure that all my requested photos got done so that I did not miss any important photos. I love how he focuses on candids rather than making you do cheesy/forced poses. He made sure all photos had the best lighting and that we had a good variety. Finally, he turns around all photos very quickly compared to others.

We couldn't have had a better experience with Zak! I wanted beautiful images that captured our special day, and he went above and beyond. We took our engagement pictures together, which I would highly recommend. He took the time to get to know us as a couple and get a feel for what we were looking for. Then for the wedding, it was all smooth sailing. I gave him a schedule, which he followed perfectly. Zak was familiar with our venue and had great suggestions. It was so easy to let him take the reins because we trusted him. I just got our proofs back, and we were right to trust him. His wife also does an amazing job with the photo books. Our experience with Zak was amazing from start to finish. For our wedding, I was looking for a photographer with a more natural style, not too posed. Zak’s website stood out and he was able to meet with us right away, even though we were still a year and a half out from the wedding. He was kind and knowledgeable and made us feel at ease about choosing him for our day. We also did engagement photos with him, and they turned out awesome, so we knew we made the right choice. Day of, it was so hot outside, but Zak kept things moving and stayed calm, cool, and collected, even throughout the craziness of taking family portraits. His second shooter was also super nice and I was happy to know shared the same style as Zak. The photos we received were so beautiful and really captured our joy on that day. They were completely unobtrusive, but still able to capture all of the little details. When looking through the photos, me and my husband wondered how they even got some of the shots because we never saw them there. Communicating leading up to and after was a breeze. Where to begin in regards to how amazing Zak is... Last spring, my fiance and I were beginning our search for wedding photographers, when a friend of mine gave me Zak's information. From the first time I contacted him, he made us feel like a priority, always responding to my frantic emails right away, and putting us at ease whenever we had questions. He went above and beyond with our engagement photos, from driving over an hour to come to our house, to playing with our uncooperative dogs during the shoot. A few weeks ago was our big day and the outpouring of compliments from our family and friends about how friendly and talented our photographer was, was just overwhelming. Zak went practically unnoticed at the wedding and captured some of the most candid, sincere photos I've ever seen. My husband and I would HIGHLY recommend Zak to anyone looking for a kind, professional and incredibly talented photographer for any of life's big events!

I've known Zak for a couple of years now, and have been obsessed with his work, so it was necessary to have him shoot our wedding day! Zak and his photography partner Alex did an amazing job for our wedding on 8-11-18. We had to put our trust in Zak because we never met before the wedding, as we were previously living in Michigan. When we met Zak the day of the wedding we felt so comfortable, as he was so easy going and ready to fulfill whatever we needed. Zak took beautiful posed photos that our families requested and then amazing action shots that we had wished for. We also had a photo booth set up where friends and family let their silly selves shine without any props or gimics. I wasn’t sure how it would turn out, but it was amazing. We cannot wait to see the video of the ceremony and our photo book. Our day was captured beautifully.

We cannot say enough great things about Zak! Not only is he an amazingly lovely person, but he is outstanding at what he does. He is professional, creative and totally immerses himself in the moment. We were originally planning to get married in PA and from the moment we started searching we knew we wanted Zak to photograph our wedding! Anyone can take a camera and pose a picture, but Zak can see moments as they are happening and this is the stuff that makes beautiful , raw and emotional pictures. On the wedding day, Zak worked incredibly hard. He is calming, reassuring and maintains his focus on the couple 100%. He is the kind of guy that makes you feel like you are the only people in the room. This is a special and rare quality to find :) The guests at our wedding were commenting on how wonderful he was and everybody was honestly so impressed. When we got our wedding pictures back, we were so unbelievably happy with all of them. They were every bit as amazing as we knew they would be. Zak captured amazing one off moments in time and this is down to his creative eye and genuine interest in what he is photographing. We had such a hard time choosing pictues for our book as they were all so amazing. Yet another wonderful thing about Zak though, is that he allows you to keep all of your wedding pictures so you can love them all forever! We honestly couldn't have wished for someone more amazing and talented to trust with photographing our wedding day. Thank you Zak Zavada, you legend!

They say a great photographer is one who you don't even know is there, who takes amazing pictures and who captures special moments when you're not even looking. We found these special talents in Zak Zavada, from our beautiful engagement photos to our wonderful wedding pictures. Zak is still receiving compliments from our friends and wedding guests who found him to be so friendly and gracious, and so exceptional at his job. Zak is amazing! He really makes everything personal with the couple, first thing he does is ask about how you and your significant other met! He keeps things sweet and simple and is definitely very professional as far as photographing. My groom and I had a lot of fun with him doing our one and one shots. As far as the ceremony goes, he really got pictures from some cool angles, he didn’t cause any attention, I didn’t realize he got some many shots until he was done editing (which only took 2 weeks!!). Definitely a great bang for your buck! Great guy!

From the first correspondence and every step of the way leading up to the wedding, Zak put us at ease with equal balance of professionalism and warmth. The same was true on the actual day as he was able to both capture the organic way things unfolded while also taking command of the moment when needed. Planning a wedding is obviously stressful, but Zak made the whole interaction fun and easy. He was always available via text or email to answer questions and concerns and after every conversation he left us feeling confident in his knowledge and abilities. The day of the wedding he was prompt and on time and was extremely professional and personable. We were stressed about all the group photos that we were going to have to take with all our extended family, but Zak did a great job of managing such a loud and big group. We got our photos back within 3 weeks of the wedding and we were absolutely blown away by all the photos. Zak has an eye for capturing candid moments and bringing life into every photo. Zak was amazing! He went above and beyond his role as a photographer even before the wedding festivities. My husband and I were struggling with last minute decisions and he was there to help us every step of the way. He even made a trip to the store on the day-of for forgotten items! All of our guests raved about him as well. At the end of the day, we feel that Zak is now part of our family and we couldn't be more happy with our experience!

We absolutely loved working with Zak for our wedding day! He was referred to us by family and friends and we are SO GLAD. I already have and will continue to refer Zak to couples searching for a wedding photographer. After speaking to Zak via phone, we immediately knew we wanted to go with him as our photographer. He is extremely kind and has a remarkable talent for putting everyone at ease right away. I don't love having my photo taken but Zak made the entire process easy and painless. He was so flexible and accessible throughout our entire engagement emphasizing that we could call, text, or email him at any time. He was such a professional on our wedding day arriving on time to get photos of the groom and groomsmen early and then coming to where the bridesmaids and I were getting ready. The groomsmen LOVED his laidback approach and the bridesmaids couldn't be more thrilled with how all of the photos turned out! The photos made all of us laugh AND cry which speaks volumes of Zak's incredible talent. We love that the photos he captured of our wedding day are real moments and not all staged portraits. We have gotten TONS of compliments on our photos from family, friends, and even strangers! We couldn't be happier with the end result as looking at the photos makes us smile and remember the excitement of our wedding day perfectly. I have no idea how he was able to get so many amazing photos while managing not to be intrusive AT ALL! Our album is absolutely beautiful and is such an amazing keepsake from a perfect day! We found Zak through TheKnot and we could not be more pleased with the work he did. He came to us in Brooklyn on a VERY cold January day to take our engagement photos. These are some of our favorite photos of us, we have several of these photos framed in our apartment. The day of our wedding was as seamless as it could be and Zak played a huge part in that. He was around in all the right places to capture the true spirit of our wedding. Zak was very easy going but at the same time was very organized. He gathered all families into their spots for portraits and was able to corral my rag tag group of groomsmen. Almost every single guest commented on how great he was and ALL loved his wedding photos when we received them a few weeks later. All in all i have nothing but great things to say about Zak's work and I would recommend him to anyone.

To start this review I want to say that Zack was absolutely 100%professional personable and made the entire process that much easier to accomplish what we wanted to on our wedding day. We had a pretty decent size bridal party quite Rowdy quite uncoordinated and rambunctious but Zack dealt with them as if I was dealing with them myself his communication what is amazing almost every time I would call or text you was right answering or getting right back to me almost no matter the time is punctual thorough and went buy some of the rules or guidelines I should say my wife and I asked him to just just working with him was amazing I will have no problem recommending him to anyone and everyone that has interest in getting photography work done in any aspect you will not be disappointed and say this word confidence my wife and I I've already discussed using him in the future for other photo opportunities. Baseball themed wedding !!!

You can tell by looking at his portfolio that Zak is an incredible photographer and takes beautiful pictures. What I really loved about working with Zak though is that he made everything so easy. I'm almost always uncomfortable with getting my picture taken but with Zak I felt comfortable, confident, and had so much fun. And to add to that, he blended the photography portion of the event into everything else so seamlessly. He kept us on track but wasn't intrusive. He was so much fun but also very professional. Zak's work speaks for itself, it's easy to see his technical skill as a photographer, and his ability to capture the special moments that occur naturally. Zak's calm nature and confidence make it so easy to relax and enjoy the moment rather than worrying about what's going on. He guided us through the entire day of our wedding and was so easy to work with. He perfectly walks the line of staying focused and being professional, while having fun and keeping a laid back attitude that was especially appreciated by our friends and family during the family/wedding party shots. Zak and his second shooter Anthony were great at being everywhere throughout the night while blending in and never being intrusive. I would not hesitate to use Zak for any event, and would absolutely recommend his service to anyone looking for a photographer. It was really a pleasure working with him.

I was the best man in my brothers wedding this year and Zak was hired as the photographer. Having been through many weddings including my own, getting pictures done hasn't always been my favorite thing to do. But Zak did a great job keeping things going and streamlined and didn't ask us to do alot of extra poses that were unnecessary. Zak was very professional and the results speak for themselves as the pictures were very good quality and beautiful to look at. I would recommend Zak for any occassion that you want to capture and remember forever.

I wish I could give Zak more than five stars because he absolutely deserves it. Zak has a charming and friendly personality and made us feel relaxed and at ease during both our engagement and wedding photo shoots. He took the time to get to know us and made us feel comfortable being that this was our first time getting professional photos together. Every- time I look at our wedding photos I feel I am right back in that special moment and able to re-live that day over and over again through his work. He captured everything I could ask for on my wedding day and I will cherish our wedding album for the rest of our lives. He is highly attentive, quick to respond for questions, plus he worked around our schedules so that he could take photos of both groomsmen and bridesmaid before the ceremony. In addition, he worked well and captured so many beautiful photos of our sweet two year old daughter in both the engagement and wedding photos. He truly is extremely talented. He has the heart and love for his career and his passion of photography shows through the beautiful photos he captures. I highly recommend him to any future couples looking for a photographer on their wedding day.

Zak was by far the best vendor to work with during the whole wedding planning process! He was reliable, flexible, responsive, and the list goes on and on. He was so accommodating that he even came all the way to NYC to shoot our engagement pictures! It felt more like a friend shooting our wedding than a ‘wedding photographer’. He did a great job getting all of the family and bridal party pictures done quickly so everyone could go and enjoy themselves. Nothing ever seemed too forced or posed. During the reception when anyone took out their phone to take a picture with me and my husband, Zak was right there with his camera to take a profession picture for them instead and that really impressed my guests! We’re still trying to figure out how he knew exactly when he was needed throughout the night! Zak was perfect for our wedding and I could not recommend him enough!

Zak was a pleasure to work with from beginning to end - it was so easy to communicate with him throughout the planning process and our big day! He happily met with us at our venue prior to our wedding to go over potential photo areas and schedule for the day. He was prompt day of and seamlessly went between the bridesmaids and groomsmen to take our "getting ready" photos. We liked that he was very knowledgable and had an artistic eye to capture beautiful moments. Zak is a gregarious photographer that took great candid and posed photos throughout our wedding day. We would highly recommend him to any couple!
