Let me start by saying the venue itself is absolutely gorgeous! Whatever you do, however, do not book a summer wedding here if you're expecting adequate air conditioning. It was over 100 on the day of our wedding, and the air conditioners simply could not keep up. Our guests were miserable, fanning themselves even inside. The bridesmaids took refuge in the bathroom as that was the only area properly cooling, and the bulk of our guests left very early as no one was comfortable. All systems were looked at after we left, and we were told they were running normally. My cousin is an A/C tech and was at the wedding and said he wasn’t surprised, as the venue has three sides of all single panned glass, so the air conditioners simply can’t keep up with the heat. Additionally, the day of our wedding they did not lock the gate across from the ceremony site as promised when you tour the venue, so there were people and cars directly behind us at our ceremony. They also did not provide the cocktail tables we requested and paid for. They did refund us for the cocktail tables as we never received them and $300 for the venue being so hot, but it was not worth the $300. I would have much rather actually been comfortable and my guests been comfortable the day of. Additionally, we rented part of the house next door. I highly recommend renting it or at least part of it, if you're going to have your wedding there as it’s gorgeous, but word of warning if it is a hot day the upstairs will not be cool enough to use. We rented it, but it stayed 90 in the upstairs even with the air conditioners running and would not be cool until the morning. We would check it then, and it would be 75. It is an old house and I don't think it is properly insulated. They did however refund us for the upstairs portion of the house as we were never able to use it. Basically, if you're going to book the venue do not book it for summer whatever you do! You and your guests will be miserable if it’s hot outside.
A beautiful spot for your big day! The grounds are beautiful and need very little to make it even better. They provide the chairs and tables. Definitely recommend paying for them to clean up so you don't have to worry about it. Phyllis was very responsive and courteous. Book them!
We had issues with heavy on-site construction the day of my wedding. It wouldn't have bothered me too much except that the office management seemed annoyed at us for being worried about redesigning our entire wedding ceremony at the last moment due to very delayed construction. I would give 5 stars for how pretty the venue is but 2 stars for customer service.
Everything was beautiful! 100% recommend!!
The mill, the atmosphere, and the people were amazing. I cannot speak more highly of this place. It is truly a hidden gem! And phenomenal for people on a budget as chairs and tables are included as well!
Amazing venue! Very beautiful wedding.
Beautiful location that's one of the best options for budget-minded newlyweds. Can sit about 250, tables and chairs included, bed and breakfast across the street, can have ceremony in front of a gorgeous river. Truly unique, perfect for anyone going for rustic or vintage theme. This place is a hidden gem, it's more than worth looking into for anyone getting married.
I loved the ability to use any vendor of my choice. No extra fees. Beautifully maintained. Indoor/outdoor
If you are looking for a "country style" venue this is the perfect place. It is situated on the San Marcos River with a beautiful rock amphitheater for your outdoor ceremony setting. The pavilion has doors that can either be kept closed to utilize the HVAC or open if desired. My wedding had approximately 325 guests - we left the doors open and utilized the deck space and grass areas for additional tables. There is a small bridal room with restroom for the girls to get ready however, there is no groom's room so keep that in mind if you are an out of town wedding. Great place!
This place is truly amazing! This is truly the most beautiful place in Texas for the price!! The pavilion is set up nicely for weddings, large caterers kitchen and the ceiling to floor windows allow guests to see the beautifully maintained grounds and the river. The only reason for 4 instead of 5 stars is because one of the air conditioners went out, and in September with triple digit heat, made it a bit miserable, and when we told the city manager what happened they basically were like oh too bad. So if you have a wedding when weather should be cool, you will love this place, if in the heat of summer, use caution. There are 2 options for outdoor ceremonies.
This was an outstanding location in small Luling. It is on the river next to an old mill. The landscaping and architecture are traditional hill country. It is relatively new and very well kept. It has huge glass doors that open the whole building up for nice weather days. Outside amphitheatre seating allows for the ceremoney to be outside by the river if you choose. If you are looking for a hill country look for an exceptional value, this is a great choice. Oh, and you can pay a small additional fee and THEY will clean up for you!
