Zhaun is everything you could ever need AND MORE for your photographer! When my husband and I first were thinking about hiring a photographer, we were nervous about being awkward in front of the camera and having a photographer that might judge us. When meeting Zhaun for the first time, he immediately made us feel so comfortable! He helped us do our engagement shoot and our wedding photography. He really took the time to get to know our personalities and make the engagement shoot so fun! When we go the pictures back, we fell in love with his editing style and how he was able to perfectly capture our quirkiness and love. In preparation for the wedding day, Zhaun sent us checklists and tips and tricks through email, which helped us out so much! Zhaun is so attentive, answered all our questions, and even helped us decide on our tricky timeline for the day. We had booked Zhaun for 9 hours as he was also taking pictures for our Chinese tea ceremony in the morning. There were moments Zhaun stepped in when we needed help with positioning, posing, and timing, and there were also times where he was just a fly on the wall, and gave us the space and time to process our precious moments. We also had Zhaun bring a second photographer as I really wanted two perspectives of my husband getting ready and his reaction to me walking down the aisle without sacrificing Zhaun's time with my side (the bride's side). The second photographer was also amazing! She was so helpful (especially when it came to corralling the groom's side together and making sure the groomsmen were in line LOL). This is all to say Zhaun is great and his team is ALSO great. My friends, family, and all the guests kept telling me how professional, mindful, personable, and kind he is. I cannot wait for the rest of my pictures to arrive but I know beautiful things require patience! 10/10 AMAZING experience with Zhaun, you will not regret it!!!

From beginning to end, Zhaun brought professionalism, humanity, and fun to our wedding! His commitment to his couples is unmatched: We had to reschedule our engagement shoot due to illness and Zhaun turned around our entire gallery in 3 days in order for us to have the photos to use for our save the dates. His planning and communication are top-notch. Zhaun makes photography fun: My now-husband (who does not like to take pictures) had a blast at our engagement session. At the wedding, our family members, bridal party, and guests raved about Zhaun being so personable and easy to work with. Zhaun managed to capture every moment while never overshadowing or being pushy (like some weddings we’ve been to!) I was nervous that without videography, some details and emotions from our wedding would be lost, but Zhaun’s photojournalism style brings our day back to life through our photos. He even shot a roll of film for us- we love having another style of photos, some we love more than the digital versions! Our friends are all in awe, as are we. From the first call with Zhaun, I knew we needed to hire him and it was one of the best decisions we made. He was so organized, communicative, and catered to make sure we had everything we wanted captured. Instead of engagement photos since we had them planned before hiring Zhaun, he was very accommodating and photographed our traditional Chinese tea ceremony and rehearsal dinner instead. Zhaun was super helpful when it came to posing which made us feel more at ease and so fun to work with. He’s incredibly talented and captured so many moments of our loved ones we didn’t get to see. When family photos felt a little chaotic during cocktail hour, he was quick to reel everyone in while still allowing everyone to take photos on his phone and get the shots he needed. His turnaround time is also impeccable and we even got sneak peaks before our honeymoon less than two weeks after our wedding. We went into our wedding knowing that we wanted to invest in good photography. Zhaun absolutely exceeded our expectations. He was probably our most communicative vendor, he helped us put together our wedding timeline and was always available for us to reach out with more photo ideas. To say that my wedding was a literal dream come true is an understatement. I have had the opportunity to see Zhaun's work from afar being a wedding planner and at other's weddings and I have known for a long time that I would like him to be my photographer. Zhaun is a seasoned expert, incredibly talented, organized, humble, and overall a wonderful person. When we were first looking for a photographer for our wedding, it was really important to us that we were supporting AAPI businesses. From our first email to our first introduction call, Zhaun was professional, funny, and easy to talk to. An engagement shoot was included, and my husband and I had such a fun time. It allowed us to get to know Zhaun too. Zhaun was an absolutely incredible wedding photographer! On the day-of, he had such a calm and efficient manner that put everyone at ease. He was able to get all the shots we wanted while not spending too much time exclusively on photos, so we could spend time with our guests. We got comments from other vendors and from guests about how great he was and how hard he was working to get the perfect shots. He gave the perfect amount of direction and instructions, and helped everyone to look their best! We’re not big photo people, so were quite nervous to be in front of the camera. But he made it feel super natural and fun, and it ended up being a surprisingly amazing part of the day! When we got the final photos back, we were totally blown away by how they turned out. It’s been 2 weeks since we received our wedding photos back from Zhaun, and we’ve finally put into words how his work has made us feel. What we didn’t realize prior to booking was that a wedding photographer is not just someone taking pictures of your special day…it’s who you’ll hangout with most, who will bring your emotions to life in print, and who artistically tells your love story. Zhaun is all of those things and more. When we first met Zhaun for an intro call, the vibes were just right. He gave us an immense amount of confidence in his ability, and also was so honest and approachable when answering our questions. We are not people that are especially comfortable posing, and we wanted to be sure to capture all the little candid moments we had throughout the day/night. His delicate balance of being intimately present for every little moment without imposing is so wonderful. In our photos we saw all the details of the day, we saw what others saw, and we saw every little glance or smile we gave one another - and it was all just so special. We got compliments from all of our family, wedding party and guests on how much of a joy he was to be around. Zhaun was our photographer, and now we also consider him our friend. We hope to use him to capture all of our family’s life moments - because he really is amazing at what he does. Zhaun was incredible to work with! He took time to get to know me and my husband - to understand our preferences and our personalities. He really helped create the experience that we were looking for. As the photographer for our engagement and wedding photos, he helped us ease into the process, feel comfortable, and have so much fun! Zhaun was an amazing photographer. He was super professional right away during our first call and was the only photographer who was as organized and clear about what his photography offerings are. Through the process his communication was also always excellent. His photographs are also just amazing. Truly works of art. He makes boring settings look beautiful. The composition of his photos is really fantastic. Photos feel glamorous, but somehow natural, not overly posed, somehow photojournalistic at the same time. That's a lot, but really Zhaun is the best and I we could not recommend him enough.

Zhaun was everything we were hoping for in a photographer - experienced, kind, fun, and, most importantly, a great photographer! Zhaun was an amazing photographer who helped out with more than just our photos! We have never hired a professional photographer before and we were not sure how we would feel being in front of the camera. When we first met Zhaun via a video-call he reassured us that he had worked with many couples who were photographed professionally for the first time. He was very flexible with where and when we could do our engagement session and he helped us plan what time of day would be best to do photos. During the session, Zhaun joked and conversed with us, so by the end of the session we felt like we had hired a friend to take our photos which made the whole session feel very authentic. We were extremely pleased with the photos that we got back - it was very hard to determine what photos to print! We worked with Zhaun a few months before the wedding via email and we had a couple video calls to go over some planning sheets that he had prepared for the wedding day. These sheets were hugely helpful not just for planning photos, but for planning the day of the wedding since we were able to tell our friends and families when they were needed for photos ahead of time. Zhaun also suggested that we do our wedding party photos and family photos as much as we can before the ceremony so that less of the cocktail hour and reception would be taking formal photos. On the wedding day, Zhaun kept in communication over text about when he would be arriving which helped lower our stress. Our pre-ceremony bride/groom photos went off without a hitch and he used that time to get to know our wedding party so that he could rely on them throughout the evening to corral friends and family for photos. He made instant connections with everyone from the wedding party and they all said great things about him to us later. Zhaun's setup in the venue was seamless and discreet, yet the photos he got of the ceremony and reception seemed so natural! Zhaun's fly-on-the-wall style of photography made it so that we could focus on our friends and family most of the night while he captured little moments that we didn't even know about. He even stayed longer to capture some group photos for no additional charge. Zhaun offers a great photography package that includes both the engagement session and wedding photography that was cheaper than hiring a separate engagement and wedding photographer. This was a huge plus to us since we were planning our wedding while one of us was in grad school. We didn't know what to expect when it came to number of photos that would be delivered, so we were surprised by volume of photos we got that lets us relive our wedding night down to the little details of our decorations. We highly recommend Zhaun for your engagement and wedding photography needs!!

I cannot imagine a better wedding photographer turned friend to capture the best year of our life. From the moment we connected we’d knew he’d be the creative thought partner we were looking for. For our engagement shoot we had hoped for a perfect sunny early morning shoot and ended up with a foggy day. Zhaun was totally flexible in reschedule but we chose to go on with it because made us feel like they would come out with such special intimate vibe and they totally did! During the planning process he was easy to communicate with and was super helpful in listening to our ideas and helping us turn them into a reality, often times sharing the pros and cons of different ideas and always been down for the ride. Zhaun was so easy to work with, grounding, and helped us prioritize what truly matters when we were debating more formal photos vs time with friends during cocktail hour. We ended up choosing photos we’d truly print and frame (his suggestion) and I’m so happy we did because as a result we got some real fun candids saying hi to people for the first time after the ceremony. The actual wedding was so perfect and calm and the entire wedding party remarked at how cool and easy to work with Zhaun was. He made the day a breeze and got all the shots we were looking for plus some (first look, couple shots at the venue, sunset photos)! Our photos came back sooner than we’d hoped and the best part was he got some great shots of our VIPs aka friends and family that really capture the mood. We’d hire him again and again.

I absolutely cannot say enough about Zhaun's photography skills. There is absolutely no one I would have rather had to shoot our wedding! He is so skilled in what he does and has such an eye for the art. I knew I wanted Zhaun to be our wedding photographer literally since I first saw one of his photos a little over a year ago. He is incredible and I could not recommend him more! My husband and I decided to skip the engagement shoot and go for a second photographer and it was awesome! Zhaun and his co-photographer were able to capture exactly what we wanted and more. If you are looking for a sign to book him, this is it! He is also such a big help along the way of the wedding-planning process. He knows his stuff! Best photographer we could have chosen, for sure.

In all honesty, there is no other photographer who we would have wanted to work with on our wedding day... You should definitely choose Zhaun as your photographer! We found Zhaun through our friends who were married in June of 2021. After speaking with them and seeing their work we reached out to him and after 30 minutes of speaking with him, we booked him! He is so outrageously talented and fun to work with. Neither of us had any experience in front of a camera but he is full of little tips that allowed us to feel at ease, be natural and have fun in front of the camera. In addition, he is a calm presence, works incredibly hard and has such a fantastic eye that he captures wonderful moments that you will cherish forever. We don't even know where to begin with our recommendation of Zhaun Frias Photography. From our first, informal email exchange with Zhaun, we knew he was going to be professional, hard-working and dedicated to our wedding and needs. Zhaun was punctual in his responses to us, and wanted to really know about us, our relationship, our wedding and who we were as a couple. He made the whole wedding planning process easier, and much more enjoyable. He sent us updates, helpful resources, and really took the time to listen to our vision for our wedding photos. In the days leading up to our wedding, Zhaun responded to each email, text, and last minute photo suggestion immediately and with excitement. He made us feel comfortable behind the camera and was beyond creative with his shots. The photos blew us away. Within 5 days we had a sneak peek, and by the 1 month mark, had our full album (which he organized into categories which made my teacher-type a heart beam!) I wish we could get married again so we could have Zhaun capture our day. I said it already, but the best wedding decision we made was having Zhaun behind the camera.

From Haley: When you're planning a wedding, you make LOTS of decisions - on napkin colors, table decor, seating charts. But our very favorite decision was booking Zhaun Frias to do our photos. He is a talented photographer with so much creativity and artistic vision - but he's also extremely professional and reliable. Here are just a few of the many things Zhaun did that made him stand out above any other photographer: 1) From our initial meeting, Zhaun was extremely interested in understanding what our style was and what we wanted our photos to portray. He took the time to get to know us as individuals and as a couple. We had several conversations about what we wanted from both our engagement and wedding photos (classy, simple, elegant, timeless, but also FUN) - and he delivered our exact vision. 2) He helped COACH us during our engagement session and helped us feel super comfortable posing (we are not professionals, LOL). He did a great job making sure we felt confident. 3) He was communicative, responsive, and helpful each step of the way. He was always willing to hop on a call or go back & forth over email. Def not one of those "radio silence" vendors you hear about! He even helped us plan our wedding timeline! 4) He went above and beyond on the wedding day - he helped all the bridesmaids move their suitcases and dresses for photos and just made everyone feel super comfortable during the shoot. He did great with our entire extended family and helped us get the shots we needed! 5) THE DELIVERY - he delivered a "sneak peak" of photos just a few days after the wedding. All the photos were stunning and super high quality. We loved Zhaun, would work with him again, and would recommend him to anyone. There is literally nothing bad to say about him. From Stephen: I don't typically care about photos, but Zhaun's photography was OUTSTANDING. He did a great job directing our family, keeping us on schedule, and delivering a quality product that will last a lifetime. Zhaun was such a blessing to us. I drove myself crazy talking with countless photographers that an excel sheet couldn’t even keep track of them anymore. I don’t remember how I even found Zhaun in that blur but I’m confident that the Lord had his hand in it because after we talked to him my husband and I immediately agreed that he was going to be our photographer for our wedding day. And he didn’t disappoint. The number 1 compliment we’ve received from our wedding guests has been how amazing our photographer was, from how gorgeous the photos turned out to how fun he was at the wedding, dancing right along with everyone else and getting some great shots of our dancing guests. Zhaun is super laid back and fun, but also very knowledgeable about how to organize a wedding day to go smoothly, which it did perfectly. Of all our vendors, he made us feel most confident that our vision would be met because he maintained regular contact with us throughout our planning process and made certain he knew exactly what we wanted for our big day, and gave great suggestions. His pictures are absolutely gorgeous, and also very fun. He takes the very classically beautiful shots but then he also does some that are really interesting and unique. We have some beautiful photos that most people don’t because they’re not the same ones you see wedding after wedding. Make sure to do the engagement shoot. It was a great opportunity for us to get to know him and learn some great tips on how to pose well. On our wedding day we were already very comfortable with each other and knew just what to expect.

Let me just start by saying; Zhaun is a breath of fresh air. Planning our wedding was stressful until we hired Zhaun. He was probably the biggest help in planning out our day. It is almost like we got a photographer / coordinator in one. From planning out a time line and coordinating with our day off coordinator it was such a relief. Everyone at our wedding commented on Zhaun and his second shooters friendliness and and the level of fun they brought to all of our guests. I don't think Zhaun missed a single second of shooting with all of the pictures we got, and how was the quality of every single photo from our special day? Breathtaking. Our photos could not have come out any better. We are 3 months out and we can not stop looking at them. I would never, from this point forward, take any of my photography business elsewhere. Working with Zhaun was a dream. From the first interview to the final moments at the wedding we felt as though we were in extremely good hands. Communication was prompt and we never had any questions as to what the photography plan was since Zhaun tended to everything meticulously. We didn’t get to meet Zhaun in person until the day of our wedding but he melded perfectly with our group keeping everyone in good spirits and at ease for the picture taking process. We decided to get eloped prior to have the big wedding celebration so that we didn't have to worry about the paperwork. We still didn't have a photographer and only had 2 days to figure out who that was going to be. I reached out to Zhaun via Instagram message, and luckily, Zhaun was down to accept last minute! Zhaun made us feel extremely comfortable in front of the camera, has a very hospitable and welcoming personality, and really puts in the effort to ask questions and communicate as much as possible. He is also very professional! Lastly, the edits to our elopement photos were such a quick turnaround -- ONE DAY! The editing was stunning and we received a lot of compliments from our friends and families. Zhaun's photographs of our wedding were beautiful. His creative use of light and our surroundings made an end product that was romantic and stunning. His genuine positivity and calm demeanor helped my husband and I get comfortable being behind the camera and the end result was magic. He captured our love for each other perfectly. Zhaun was a star at our wedding! He was a tremendous help as we planned our wedding on an unprecedented COVID schedule (less than 3 months). Both during the event and several months later, our family members can't stop raving at how professional, efficient, poised, and skilled Zhaun was. When it comes down to it, we hired Zhaun becuase we loved his photography, and he did not disappoint. He's skilled at both setting shots so that we look way more beautiful than we actually are as well as capturing the candid moments that we keep on going back to. As someone that doesn’t love how in your face the wedding industry is, Zhaun is a breath of fresh air. He is knowledgable and professional but very relaxed and easy to work with. I appreciated that his photos and suggestions met exactly what we wanted out of our photos. I feel like his shots are unique and will make your event feel special. They aren’t cookie cutter like a lot of portfolios I saw! Everyone in my party enjoyed working with him and was comfortable. He is a great photographer and certainly goes above and beyond to ensure your day is captured well! We will be booking him again next year and hopefully for many things after that.

We threw a small, backyard wedding together in a month this past summer during COVID. My now husband found Zhaun. On our first call, I was blown away. He is one of the most kind, accommodating and professional people I've ever worked with. We planned, he asked a lot of questions about our ceremonies and culture (and timeline as he's extremely punctual) - he cared a lot. The day of the wedding, we saw Zhaun walking around swiftly and efficiently taking shots, staging pictures in a confident yet unobtrusive manner. He seriously knew what he was doing (and by the way, he is also very fun and likeable - he felt like a cousin). Our whole family was impressed. And then the pictures came. I used to say I wasn't a wedding or a picture person. And now, Zhaun's photos have made me both. I don't know how he did what he did, but he is an artist with a mastery of the technical in his field and an innate je nais sai quoi (I think it's a gift). He even labeled the album with the appropriate religio-cultural parts of the ceremony - again, because he cares. Thank you a hundred times from both of us, Zhaun. You really made our whole summer by beautifully capturing such a unique, milestone experience in an otherwise tough year. If anyone is thinking twice of hiring Zhaun, don't. It is the easiest decision you can make, for any event.

Zhaun took unbelievably BEAUTIFUL pictures of my rehearsal dinner. Each photo made a powerful statement, so much that when I first opened the gallery, I cried(and I do not cry easily). All the shots were taken in the moment of real people, responding in real ways, and he captured those tender, vulnerable, memorable, and hidden moments that can go unseen and unappreciated. Zhaun's work is 10/10 and exemplifies who he is as a person. He deeply cares about people and is present wherever he is never failing to make you smile! Hire him, you will not regret it!

I hired Zhaun and worked with him on a surprise proposal that I was planning. He was very supportive throughout the entire process and helped me figure out all the details leading up to the proposal. Not only was he was very meticulous, but also offered direction and made us feel comfortable throughout the shoot. I was really happy to find someone personable who was able to capture this important moment perfectly well. We are so glad that we hired Zhaun as the photographer for our wedding. From the beginning of our conversations he was made it clear that he was willing to do whatever it took to make our day special and he definitely did. Three weeks before our wedding date COVID-19 caused us to change all our plans. We cancelled our original date, moved everything up two weeks and had a small ceremony with only 9 people present, including us! Zhaun understood the stress we were under, losing our "dream wedding" and helped us make our day as special as possible. Zhaun captured everything that was wonderful and special about our wedding. Zhaun was the second shooter at my wedding but he was fantastic. Met him for the first time at my house where me and my groomsmen were getting ready and from the beginning he was amazing. He was early, and came in with a lot of energy but also warm at the same time; he made it really fun and relaxing for me. My mind felt like it was running on all cylinders, wanting to make sure everything was perfect, and he helped me slow down and be present simply by prompting me to think of certain aspects of my wife-to-be, all while capturing every fun moment. My groomsmen loved him too! It was two of my groomsmen's first time being apart of the wedding and he did such a good job directing them and making them feel confident. The rest of the day he was all smiles and worked with such a great attitude, I definitely recommend him, he knows what he's doing.
