I needed to change my review, particularly after their response to the review on facebook.
Initial Review:
While I do have some mixed feelings about this vendor, the good certainly does outweigh the bad. First the bad, The caterers didn't show ...up until about noon when there was supposed to be someone there a couple of hours earlier to meet with us (the ceremony started at noon), so I had to just trust them to be able to figure out the last minute details and where to set up without me, I called when they didn't show up an hour after they were supposed to be there (knowing traffic was backed up a little bit) but was unable to get ahold of anyone. Second was that several of my guests heard them say that there was a lot of food left over and that they were just going to pack up the rest & take it with them, I had close to a dozen guests come up to me to tell me that they heard the caterers saying they were going to "steal" the uneaten food. I haven't had a chance to talk to them since I heard this. The good-I had injured myself at work shortly after booking with them and was unable to communicate with them for a while, they were patient with me while I was unable to get them the information they needed. Their food was fantastic! I heard nothing but good things about how well their food tasted. They were able to help us with putting together a good menu where all of the foods complemented each other.
Yellow Bird Catering and Events:
Thank you Kerri. I am sorry for any miscommunication. Our first staff member actually arrived at 10am, with the second at 10:30, which was a bit later than expected. Second, I am sorry the staff did not communicate regulations, however as per health department regulations all leftover food must be disgarded. Hence, it was in fact not being stolen, rather it was thrown away. It was a great event an a pleasure to work with you.
My response: I was in the dining hall waiting for them until about 10:45am before I went to get into my dress and nobody from your company was there at that time, when you were supposed to be there by 9-9:30am. If food was all supposed to be discarded (also, what regulation, exactly would this be? I'd like to verify that) then why was some food left and some food taken? As we paid for that food per serving, why should you be able to take what belonged to us?
Additionally another guest saw someone from your company take the condiments from the serving table and pour it back into the larger container, which IS a health violation and makes me concerned that the extra food was not actually discarded, but possibly being reused. This information about the condiments was given to me just today, having come back from our honeymoon. There were surveillance cameras at this location. I can contact them directly if footage is needed.
