wedding - and to get her response we had to send 3-4 emails reminding her we need some answers, and when they finally messaged back it was already too late in the wedding to find other vendors that were cheaper. During the wedding- they messed up our seat choices so it made for an awkward situation where everyone was already sitting down but we had to ask them to get up to switch the seats. After, we had also found that the glass equipment we used from a 3rd party vendor came broken as the clean up crew or Day of coordinator did not care - resulting for us to reimburse the 3rd party vendor separately. They also switched up the amount that we had owed them every time we messaged them. They increased the price with no breakdown provided of why it costed so much and every time we questioned them - they would keep increasing the price. We also needed to add additional walls and heaters for the tent as the weather was pretty cold, so we asked for a quote but they did not tell us the amount until the day BEFORE the wedding - leaving us no choice. After the wedding they added a 22% service charge plus the 10% tax on top of that further increasing the amount they quoted us without giving notice. All in all, this was one of the worst experiences I had planning an event and if you want to save money and have a smooth wedding - I recommend avoiding this venue and blue ribbon catering all together.

From the tasting (which was a very fun experience we were able to do with ourselves, parents and friends) to working with us on food selection, everything went smoothly. Our coordinator took detailed notes of everything we talked about during the tasting and months later after we had solidified our guest counts and food options, she was able to bring all the notes on appetizers, entrees and desserts to help us make a decision on what we wanted. The food at our wedding was delicious and the portions were huge! Nearly everyone came up to us at one point during the night and told us their steak was some of the most tender meat they've eaten in a long time and the salmon was cooked to perfection. (I would highly suggest the Steak with Cab Sav sauce and the Salmon with Dijon Cream sauce) They also supplied a bartender who was masterful at her job and kept the line running quickly! No one waited for a drink longer than two minutes. I know people always balk at prices, but Blue Ribbon's costs are reasonable to the value, quality of food, and experience they offer. Overall, our experience with Blue Ribbon was exceptional! Special thank you to Charles, Dave and our catering coordinator Kelsey! Anyone who gets to work with these individuals won't be disappointed. I will gladly use this company and recommend this company for any future catering needs. (Not just weddings!)

Other than the fish & chips, we had a vegetarian menu and even the large meat eaters didn't miss the meat, everyone raved about the food. BRC was always easy to communicate with, especially once we were assigned David as our coordinator. We did not use them to create our cake, but given how they set up the display of the cakes we brought in and the cheese ""cake"" he put together, I can only imagine how much care they would put into creating a cake. The serving and bartender team he brought with him that night were beyond adjectives. We gave them barebones recipes for our signature cocktails and they made them taste exactly as we had imagined. If we could do our wedding again, we wouldn't hesitate to return to BRC. In the end David was more of a friend than a vendor and we cannot thank him enough for the hard work, care, and joy him and his team gave to us. "

She was on top of all the details and truly executed the wedding of our dreams in such a short amount of time, customizing our catering menu and drinks menu with specific ingredients we requested, including adding a cheese plate appetizer our guests raved about. Blue Ribbon is a very professional full service company and I whole heartedly recommend them to anyone who wants a stress-free wedding!

and day-of coordination. They did not have many options to choose from for linens and plates, but luckily we were able to choose some that would work. For about 6 months or so up until the wedding, we had been working with one specific event coordinator, Laura. She was amazing and we really enjoyed working with her. She let us know there was a chance she would not end up being our day-of coordinator. A few days before the wedding she emailed us to tell us another person would in fact be our day-of coordinator. Although we knew this was a possibility, we wished they would have decided this much sooner so that the new coordinator could have met with us ahead of time or at the very least attended the walk through. Instead, we did not meet the coordinator until the rehearsal. The rehearsal ran smoothly and we were glad we had someone there to coordinate it. The wedding day itself was where we wished we had someone who was aware of details ahead of time as there were several mistakes that could have been avoided. First, our coordinator had the guests sign our cake plate which was absolutely not in the plan and it was ruined. Later, she had our tented place cards laying flat on the tables. When I requested they be folded, she explained that wasn’t as easy for the servers to see the meal choice (stickers were on the back). That may be so, but they looked terrible so I insisted they be folded. She semi-reluctantly agreed, but I appreciated the fix. In our plan, there were specific times where the large door to the courtyard was supposed to be closed- I had to go ask the venue staff myself to close them. A few other details like placement of signs, escort cards, grand exit, etc. required a few of my bridesmaids to do or else they would not have happened. As we were about to leave for our grand exit, our coordinator stopped us to ask us if we would leave her a review. The exit was a little messy, and we were told later that once we left, the coordinator yelled at the guests because they did it wrong. I’m sure she was joking, but it was a little off putting to the guests. She did make sure to run up after us and send us home with cake which we appreciated. Overall, we were glad we had a day-of coordinator especially to run the rehearsal, manage the ceremony pacing, etc.) and it would have been much more stressful without one. However, if we could do it again, we would consider hiring one outside of Blue Ribbon to ensure their focus is centered around us rather than themselves or the company. Also, we elected to purchase our own wine/beer so that we could return unused bottles after. We’d suggest to anyone definitely buy much more than you think is needed- we ran out of white wine and Prosecco early on. Blue Ribbon staff went out and bought us more- we definitely appreciated them doing this, but we were left with a dozen bottles afterward that we can’t return and were left with a hefty invoice to pay.

nning super easy, especially during COVID. I did not worry one second or think about anything on our wedding day thanks to Amber. She's a rockstar and I'd hire her and BRC again in a heart beat. My guests all had a blast and complimented the wonderful service that was provided and told me the bartenders were the nicest. It was nice to enjoy my special day and not worry about a single thing. Thank you Amber for making my wedding perfect, special, and all the décor, food etc..were just perfect. NO complaints here. Fantastic company to hire! :)

During the ceremony and reception all of the staff were incredibly easy to work with, communicated very well, and were all so friendly! We have literally been telling all of our friends about Blue Ribbon because we had such a great experience with them. We highly recommend!

We decided that we couldn't trust a company trying to hustle couples out of tens of thousands of dollars and had to forfeit our deposit. Upon letting them know our situation, we never received a reply from them again.

They do a bunch of different things too - so if you need flowers, linens - they can do everything! I felt so bad not going with them purely because Charles was such an absolute joy to work with. eft scouring for help. I called Sanders Mansion and they planned an entire wedding, In the midst of a pandemic, in less than a week. Everything was fixed. Then, I get the call the every bride with an outdoor wedding never wants to get. "It's raining on your wedding day" I get this call from my decorator 2 DAYS before my wedding. I have an incredibly long royal train, so my dress would be ruined with the grass. I call up the woman who runs Blue Ribbon, and she offers me this location. So, she was able to plan our wedding AGAIN in 2 days. So theres the determination to make sure your wedding is perfect, the absolutely delicious food (and I mean delicious, as in the best food you will ever have. By far the best catering around), and the hard-working employees! My pictures, decorations, set up, and wedding as a whole, were all perfect due to Blue Ribbon. I literally could not have asked for a more beautiful wedding, I completely forgot we were in a pandemic. The price may be high, but if you want to get married in this pandemic, they will do anything and everything to make your dream come true. Just make sure you let the professionals work the kinks out ;) saves a lot of stress and they know best.

Nothing was done and again no contact for months. Due to Covid and the Governors mandate "no reception" we have to cancel. they refuse to refund the deposit ($2000.00) they are keeping $1047 for work done. They did nothing! Don't use!

ing that my venue had been shut down by the City of Seattle, which left me scrambling to find a new venue/caterer. Very fortunately, the team at Blue Ribbon Cooking reached out to my wedding planner and offered their services. They were very understanding of my situation and with 4 days to go until the wedding, we were able to finalize the new wedding logistics and menu. Comments on different facets of the wedding experience: Bridal Suite: They converted one of their rooms to a bridal suite area, which was spacious and had windows, work tables/chairs, a hook for my dress, and a full-length mirror. Having the natural light (in addition to the indoor lighting) was great so that we could see how my makeup looked in the daylight as I was getting my hair/makeup done. Venue Space: We did formal photos outside prior to the ceremony. There is a willow tree nearby which has Lake Union in the background--we did my first look photos there and got some gorgeous photos! We held the ceremony indoors with the chairs facing the boats/water, and Blue Ribbon Cooking decorated the space with sheer draping to form an archway for our ceremony. I already had flowers/centerpieces from another vendor, but appreciated how Blue Ribbon Cooking arranged my decorations. After the ceremony, the guests moved to another room for the cocktail hour while the main room was converted to the dining area. My guests stated they thought the venue was cozy and charming. Since the building is older, the main room did get warm towards sunset because there were many windows and it was a sunny day, although opening the doors did help cool the room. Another photo tip--ask Blue Ribbon Cooking staff for access to the dock area--we got some great artistic photos by the water that are among my favorites. Food: Given the last-minute nature of my wedding, my menu options were somewhat limited to the food that Blue Ribbon Cooking had already ordered for the week. Nevertheless, they were able to accommodate and include a substantial vegetarian entree option (pesto ravioli) and starch (polenta) for my vegetarian guests, as well as salmon and meat appetizers for the non-vegetarians. We got many compliments from our guests on the food. Although I already had an outside dessert vendor, I did like the artful way my dessert table was set up. Overall, the Blue Ribbon Cooking team was communicative and willing to work with me to accommodate my requests. I'm very grateful to the Blue Ribbon Cooking team for pulling everything together for my wedding with such short notice, and I have many wonderful photos and memories from my wedding day!

We had unexpected weather and even with the thunderstorm they stayed right on time and executed the event like a true professional. My husband and I are huge foodies and to pick a catering company that understood flavor composition but also presentation was a big component to our decision. Vanessa and Adam knocked it out of the park and we truly can't say enough great things about their business. From the responsiveness on email to the level of knowledge they know about running large events, I would pick them as a vendor over and over again. Exceptional service and expertise throughout the entire process! They made our wedding perfect and we can't thank them enough.

li was there to receive us and our family. As a result of this first interaction, Keali volunteered to be our coordinator, and asked if this was o.k.! We said yes, and did not regret it. Throughout the process, Keali was wonderful to work with. We had all the information we needed; she got back to us as soon as she could, and just made the whole experience pleasant and easy. We never really interacted with anyone else at BR, but if our experience is any indication, they hire the right people. And the food was delicious! The only reason I would not give BR 5 stars is that, as a company, BR needs to work on making their literature and media more inclusive of all couples. We are two women. Keali made us feel very welcome as an LGBTQ couple and was visibly happy to work with us. But the forms we had to fill in were as a default tailored for heterosexual couples (though the he/she language was replaced to reflect the fact that we were two women), and the BR website also geared towards heterosexual couples both visually and in the language that it uses. Fixing these issues is fairly easy and would make a world of difference to couples considering a vendor for one's wedding. Thank you, Keali, for a great experience! We loved working with you.

at Blue Ribbon far exceeded any and all expectations. They delivered top notch service at every meeting and especially during the wedding itself. Soup to nuts, there wasn't a detail not thoroughly thought out by Blue Ribbon. I recommend them to any Puget Sound area bride! Their food is delicious, fresh and beautiful! (including an amazing oyster bar!) They delivered a fine dining experience to every guest at the wedding. I can't say enough wonderful things about Blue Ribbon!

Vanessa and Adam giving us more than we could've asked for in terms of special care to facilitate their first catering job at Trinity Tree Farm in Issaquah, WA (Trinity Tree Farm has a closed catering list, but through us, offered Blue Ribbon a chance to strut their stuff). We were assigned Angela to lead the charge as our coordinator and are so grateful that we had her on our team to get us through the marathon that is a wedding. Her promptness and attention to detail throughout our meetings and email communication were flawless. On the actual day, she was like a ninja in her black outfit, everywhere at once, making sure everyone had exactly what they needed. And then the entire Blue Ribbon team took such great care of our guests and the tiny details - the hard work that happened behind the scenes did not go unnoticed! The fresh salmon sashimi was delicious, the cocktails looked amazing (as soon as the ceremony was over, I didn’t want the eternal line at the wedding bar, so they arranged to have staff mingling between guests with pre-mixed cocktails. No one had to wait for a drink!), the table settings looked so beautiful (we went through Blue Ribbon to do our greenery arrangements as well), people raved about the food, the stair lanterns were turned on just when it started to get dark, and the scattering of pine cones were better than we could've planned. Oh, and did I mention the leftovers we were sent home with? A perfectly portioned plate for the bride and groom AND trays of everything else. Thank you Blue Ribbon for making our day so fantastic. You’re the best!

We got to try most of the items on the menu with 4 other people, which helped us decide what to actually have at the wedding. We would highly recommend getting your event catered by Blue Ribbon. It was nice to also know that they provided linens, flatware, and glassware so we didn't have to find another vendor to supply them. Blue Ribbon Cooking does it all! Last but not least, Keali, our day of coordinator was AMAZING. We honestly do not think we could have done this without her! She was very detail oriented and quick to respond. Keali was very accommodating of our last minute changes and she made sure that our day ran smoothly. She met with us at the venue twice, one to check it out, and another time to do the rehearsal. Keali is extremely friendly and we knew we would instantly click with her after meeting her for the tasting. You'll fall in love with her bubbly personality. She made sure that we were fed and got everything we wanted on our wedding day. We would definitely recommend Keali if you're in need of a day of coordinator. It was one of the best decisions we made having Keali be by our side!

I can say from the bottom of my heart that the wedding you helped us give to our daughter and her new husband was “absolutively” the finest, happiest, right-sized, meaningful and virtually glitch-free wedding that I have EVER seen or experienced (and I’ve seen at least twenty). And I’ve heard seemingly sincere, challenge-resistant sentiments of the same from every family member, friend, and unfamiliar face that I’ve heard from. You coordinated the event that gave our newlyweds exactly the beginning for their lives together that they and my wife & I hoped for and we will truly be forever grateful to you, Amber, for your expertise, professionalism, easy-going mastery of the moments, and likely a hundred other things that none of us ever even knew about. In light of all that, there ain’t no way that saying "Thank You” is adequate to the moment, but it nonetheless seems to be the best way to express all the unspoken feelings piled up inside—So, THANK YOU, Amber, for a day, and an even longer experience, that will always bring huge smiles to our faces and deep joy to our hearts. that I wish I had eaten five more. I also rented tables and tablecloths to create a banquet style look for our wedding, which we loved. The personnel team at BRC is lovely to work with as well. I worked specifically with Vanessa and Jill, and they were both responsive, personable, and flexible. I used BRC for our catering, bartenders, cake, and limited decor (table and tablecloths). I was hoping to keep my wedding cost to $24K, which I was assured was possible. However, fellow brides (and grooms) be aware - their minimum charge is $9.5K which does not include bar-related fees, their 20% surcharge, and 10.1% Washington tax. This brings your basic culinary bill to at least $13.5K. I didn't do the math before I signed my contract (they didn't do the math for me either), and my wedding was much more expensive than I planned. I loved the food, loved the service, and loved my wedding, but I wish BRC had been more up-front and honest with me about total costs. I probably recommend them if you are using their venue and use the all-inclusive service they offer. I used Foodz Catering for our rehearsal dinner and would recommend them highly.

all the details we mentioned and made it seamless the day of, I didn't worry about a single thing! The food was delicious, very gourmet for a buffet! I can't say enough about the service, food, venue and the planning process. A fantastic service for the price!
