anna said yes, but that it would be a custom order, and for an order of 200 strawberries it would come out to $250. We had to order in person, so my mom and I traveled from Denver to Spokane to go into the shop to place the order (granted, we got other wedding stuff done while in town, so it wasn't the sole purpose of our trip). We get there and the sales guy says that Bloems "doesn't do" strawberries. After explaining that we had talked to Johanna and that this would be a custom order, he said she wasn't in at the moment and that we would have to come back. So we did, and once again she wasn't there, but the sales guy informed us that the cost would be $2.50 per strawberry, not the price she quoted, so again we had to leave and come back later when she would be available. We finally get to meet her and discuss the cost, and after a lot of push back (I had to show her written proof) she agreed to honor the quote she originally gave. We tried to place the order then to lock in the price, but she insisted that we shouldn't do that until 3 weeks out. Then, 3 weeks out, we contact her again to place the order, and she says she'll have to talk to her vendor about the price of strawberries. No problem, a little increase in price was expected. She comes back saying that her vendor has greatly increased the price of strawberries and that that cost would be $44 per pound of strawberries, which a pound is only about 10-12 strawberries. When you do the math that is $880. So, from $250 to $880! I'm not sure who her vendor for strawberries is, but they must be living large. To wrap this up, when I expressed my concern about Johanna's business practices (focusing on the initial quote and then how she made me wait to place the order, so I couldn't lock in the price) there was absolutely no apology or any hint of empathizing on her behalf for the position that she has put me in. 25 days until my wedding and now I have no dessert. I would absolutely not recommend Bloems to anyone!
