My wife and I used JoPhoto for our wedding in the Smoky Mountains in September. They were very efficient and great people to work with. You can tell that they really care about the people they are working with. Our families were all very impressed with them and with how amazing the photos turned out. I found out about JoPhotos on Pinterest when I came across their Smoky Mountains weddings post while scrolling through looking at elopements. I showed my fiancé their photos and decided to inquire with them just to see. Kathleen and Joe were amazing right from the get-go. Kathleen immediately started offering information on all the wonderful locations to get married in Eastern Tennessee and helped me figure out exactly what we wanted. We set our date and booked them! As soon as we made it to the location for our wedding weekend we knew we had made the right choice. From the start of the day to the sunset over the parkway, everything was perfect! Kathleen and Joe were even more amazing in person! They got right to work when they showed up at the cabin and were very efficient when getting through all the specific family photos we wanted. When it came to our couple photos, they told us exactly what to do and made it enjoyable at the same time. We just knew that the photos were going to be everything we imagined. After two weeks, we got the photos and I haven’t stopped looking at them since. This little wedding was the best decision and I have JoPhotos to thank for helping make it happen!

Joe and Kathleen were so much fun to have at the wedding. She taught me how to open a champagne bottle and how to cut the cake without messing it all up haha. They were so great with all of our family, and they scouted out the best shots at our venue (even with the rain!). We decided on a first look very last minute, and they were able to shift around the schedule to make it all happen for us! They are so great at putting you at ease, and the resulting photos were amazing!!

Joe and Kathleen are some of the kindest humans I've ever met. We hired them for our 9/23/21 wedding at The Magnolia Venue and they instantly made us feel SO comfortable! Their eye for detail is impeccable, and they even had an adorable instagram "sneak peek" reel the next day (that I've watched at least 100 times). From the moment we first talked to them on the phone they were so friendly and helpful with timelines, vendor recommendations, and more! Can't recommend them enough.

We purchased one hour of coverage from them for our courthouse ceremony, family portraits, and couple portraits, and the photos turned out wonderfully! We are so happy that we chose JoPhoto to capture our wedding. They were extremely personable and professional. You would have never known that our wedding day was the first time we had met. JoPhoto did an AMAZING job with our engagement and wedding photos! They were down to go anywhere for our engagement photos and were all about creating unique shots that go beyond the typical newly wed photos. Working with a couple made the experience fun and more relaxing for us, especially my husband. Joe was awesome with him and his groomsmen. Kathleen was an answered prayer during our wedding day as she kept everything and most importantly everyone moving. Family photos took half a second, wedding party photos were quick and fun, they were even awesome with our dogs! Their relaxed attitude and confidence was exactly what I needed during our wedding day. After our original wedding was canceled, we decided to elope in the Smokey Mountains. After some researching, I found JoPhoto and immediately reached out seeing how beautiful their photos were for so many other couples. Kathleen responded almost immediately, and she seemed genuinely excited to help us out! Having Kathleen and Joe photograph our wedding was one of the BEST decisions we've made. From the booking process to engagement pictures to the wedding, everything turned out better than we could have hoped for. What mostly drew us to JoPhoto was how warmly and crisply they capture the Tennessee mountain landscape. Our wedding venue had a lot of foliage, so we wanted someone who would portray exactly how green and lush the scenery was. They did it PERFECTLY. Not only were they amazing at capturing the setting, but they also did a great job photographing the reception (which was indoors). There are so many great action shots and candid pictures of the dancing/cake cutting/sparkler exit. They can do it all! Everyone who has seen the pictures have been SO complimentary. We found Kathleen and Joe through pictures posted online and were pleasantly surprised that we ended up at their website rather than an image gallery. The look of their pictures was exactly what we were looking for and from initial contact we were so impressed by them. Kathleen was so patient and helpful to us in planning our wedding in the National Park from afar. She talked through various options, locations, and worked up a timeline for us. As we were not local to the area Kathleen offered to provide some recommendations for officiant, florist, and hair/makeup and those made organizing the rest so much easier. We weren’t sure if we would be able to keep our planned date in the Spring and they were so understanding. They offered to hold the first date and the replacement date until we were able to get everything set for Fall. In the lead up to our wedding they checked in with us and made us feel reassured. If we thought they were helpful before our wedding day we hadn’t seen anything yet. They helped with last minute dress issues, pinned on my boutonniere, provided climbing advice for some of the locations, cleared a path, and just went out of their way to make everything as wonderful as possible. The pictures they took were awesome and we cannot recommend them highly enough. If you are looking for photographers, do not go any further, Kathleen and Joe are the folks to use, you will not be disappointed.

I can't even put into words how much JoPhoto made our wedding day. Joe and Kathleen are P H E N O M E N A L . We first reached out to them mid- to late-June asking about availability for July 15th because it's always been my dream to get married on my birthday. I received a quick response from Kathleen saying that they were available for that date (eek!), along with tons more information including location options for our small, intimate wedding and referrals to other wedding services - such as hair/makeup, officiant, etc. They also promptly sent over the contract to lock in the date and secure their service. We were able to get everything squared away pretty quick after the initial conversation. Woohoo! The day of the wedding was even better. Joe and Kathleen had us all meet at a restaurant close to the Greenbrier spot in the Smoky Mountains so we could all carpool. When I arrived, she let me know that there were quite a few families swimming in the river near where the ceremony location was going to be, and said that we could still try it there or we could go to another place in the vicinity that could be a bit more private. I immediately opted in for the secondary location and we were on our way. They already had that back up plan in place and it worked out wonderfully. (On the drive up to the secluded spot, we saw cute little bear cubs and it was perfect!) We were able to unload our folding chairs, get all set up and begin the ceremony on the river's edge. It was more beautiful than I could have ever imagined. After the ceremony, Joe and Kathleen popped into action to get a spot set up to take family photos with all of our guests. They were both very conscious of our family structure - with divorced parents, siblings, friends, etc - and we began taking photos very quickly and efficiently. Kathleen also had extreme attention to detail from necklaces not being centered to strands of hair out of place (which was common - due to the crazy humidity. hah). She was very quick and concise with her direction and positioning of all of the family as Joe was snapping away, capturing beautiful shots. From start to finish of family photos, it was probably about 30-40 minutes. After that, our family then headed back to Knoxville for our dinner and my husband and I stayed for our bride & groom photos. We took a couple at the ceremony location and then also moved onto the rocks in the river - it's okay because we had Vans and Converse on. We could be adventurous. :) We also drove down toward a couple other river banks and took more photos. Both Joe and Kathleen had tons of beautiful spots picked out for our photos and they were gorgeous. They both had us play a couple games, like closing our eyes and trying to kiss each other which has us both laughing. It made for really cute photos of our genuine smiles. They also asked if we had any specific shots in mind, so we opted in for a couple photos with our beloved Orange Subaru Crosstrek. I can honestly and wholeheartedly say that our wedding wouldn't have been as great as it was without JoPhoto. They made a huge impact and we are extremely grateful. Since we had to have a small wedding this year due to COVID, we are tentatively planning on having a larger ceremony next July for all family to attend. Best photography session EVER!!!! Yes, it was my wedding, so spirits were high, but I am not typically a person who likes to be in front of the camera. However, Joe and Kathleen are so friendly and funny that I felt completely comfortable in front of the camera. After the wedding day, they had our photos ready for us quicker than either of us could imagine! They not only looked superb, but they also captured many spontaneous moments that took place throughout the day. I would highly recommend Kathleen and her husband (JoPhoto team) for elopement photography in the Smoky Mountains. My now-husband and I decided to elope to the Smoky Mountains last month. We originally planned to have a large wedding during Memorial Day weekend but was canceled in light of the current pandemic. These plans for elopement came together within 2 weeks. Throughout the process Kathleen was responsive, friendly, and put both of our minds at ease. It is obvious that she has extensive experience with elopements in the park and helped us make the process completely painless. She also put us in touch with the person we needed to contact to get a permit to get married in the park. By the end of that day after speaking with her, we had our permit and were ready to go. The day of the wedding, Kathleen and her husband were incredibly warm and welcoming. They met with us and our officiant and took us to a special location for the ceremony. They have several locations they are familiar with and scouted out and led the way (great for those who are out of town and eloping!). From there, we went to a couple other locations as well! The views and scenery were stunning. You can tell Kathleen and Joe have great hearts and love what they do. There was no tension and we never felt rushed. They asked us a couple times if there were any shots we wanted that we didn't get and made sure to include them. My husband and I are somewhat awkward in front of a camera and they put us at ease, playing almost "newlywed games" with us to give our pictures a natural and light feel. The best part - we got our photos the DAY OF the wedding. She had initially stated that she'd send us a couple the day of and the rest within a week, however we were so surprised and happy we got them in such a short time. They were stunning, great quality, and with a link for download that does not expire. Without a doubt, I would remember JoPhoto. It was such a special day for my husband and I, and their team played a large role in that!

JOPHOTO RESCUED MY WEDDING. Oh my goodness. Where to begin? Kathleen was so helpful in planning my destination wedding from states away. She gave great recommendations for vendors and advice when it came to the flow of the day and timing of everything. Joe and Kathleen are incredibly knowledgeable of the area and are experienced, professional photographers. This really came in handy when my entire wedding fell apart due to COVID-19. We're from Florida so we planned our wedding from afar. They made everything so easy for us. They helped us find our officiant and coordinated with him perfectly so we didn't have to stress. It was very lowkey, but just enough. We were super nervous but they put us at ease and made this day so special and fun. It was like hanging out with a couple of friends! Joe and Kathleen of JOPhoto were absolutely perfect. My husband and I aren't very uncomfortable in front of the camera and they made the photo session at our wedding so fun. We ended up with several photos that are very candid and beautiful. Both Joe and Kathleen were very professional and still personable. We chose to get married at the courthouse in Knoxville and Joe and Kathleen made it feel like we had an extravagant wedding and really made my day. We could tell from the samples of their work online that these were technically proficient photographers with an intuitive understanding of what makes a good picture. When we worked with them, they also showed a great ability to bring out the best in us. They didn't make us feel rushed or awkward in any way. We had to change the time of our outdoor wedding because of concerns about the weather. That wasn't a problem for them at all. But best of all, we found Joe and Kathleen personally very likable and relatable. Spending the time required with them felt like being with friends. They're fun, funny and easy to work with. When the photos arrived at our home, they were not merely good, but spectacular. Three-hundred pictures, and somehow they managed to make all of them great. How does anyone do that? But they did. As we look back on our wedding today, we're glad we chose them.

My wife and I hired JoPhoto for our elopement photos and they were perfect. The shoot was great and they gave us really good photo directions, and made us feel very comfortable. We hired Joe and Kathleen for our elopement pictures and I can say without question that it was money very well spent! Our elopement photos were stunning! My husband and I are extremely pleased with the results. They were so great to work with. Throughout our wedding planning we knew we wanted the BEST photographers in Knoxville and I know we got them! We were so nervous about our engagement session, thinking we’d look unnatural because we had never had professional pictures and Joe and Kathleen made us feel comfortable and confident while also making us laugh the whole way through so we would have genuine smiles! Flipping through my pictures it was so hard to just pic a few I loved because every single one made me smile! On our wedding day, they arrived early and with a clear plan and purpose! Some of my bridesmaids said it was the most relaxing wedding they’ve been a part of because we actually had EXTRA time before the ceremony (like an hour) to relax and hang out! When we started the wedding planning process, I knew the one thing I wanted to make sure we got was a good photographer, as the pictures are the only thing that lasts beyond the day of. We had an absolutely incredible experience with JoPhoto. They were so wonderful, accommodating, and efficient. My husband called them the day of the wedding and asked if we could push the wedding back an hour due to the weather and they were so understanding. They showed up promptly to the newly schedules time and immediately started capturing memories. My husband and I have never been part of a traditional wedding ceremony so we were not entirely sure what to do and they were so sweet and helpful by telling us things like, "the groom stands on this side" and at the reception, "you should probably cut the cake now". Kathleen and Joe did our daughters wedding pictures and they were fabulous! I can’t say enough good things about them! Their attention to detail is so impressive! They were always there to get the best shot, but they were never in the way!
