e were so impressed by them. Kathleen was so patient and helpful to us in planning our wedding in the National Park from afar. She talked through various options, locations, and worked up a timeline for us. As we were not local to the area Kathleen offered to provide some recommendations for officiant, florist, and hair/makeup and those made organizing the rest so much easier. We weren’t sure if we would be able to keep our planned date in the Spring and they were so understanding. They offered to hold the first date and the replacement date until we were able to get everything set for Fall. In the lead up to our wedding they checked in with us and made us feel reassured. If we thought they were helpful before our wedding day we hadn’t seen anything yet. They helped with last minute dress issues, pinned on my boutonniere, provided climbing advice for some of the locations, cleared a path, and just went out of their way to make everything as wonderful as possible. Unfortunately we had 2 postponements due to family illness and COVID but through the planning in the smokey mountains Kathleen was PERFECT. She sent tips and tricks for getting married in a national park, she helped me get in contact with the correct people, she knew EVERY detail of the ins and outs of getting married in a national park. // Through the postponements and planning 3 different weddings chaos, Kathleen never wavered. She was there for me every step of the way! She was more than a photographer through this last year she was my saving grace when it came to postponing, planning, timelines and all the little details. // On our wedding day, Joe and Kathleen arrived early and didn’t miss a beat all day. My husband is very quirky but Joe fit right in and made him open up and feel comfortable taking pictures which I thought would be a hard task. I received a quick response from Kathleen saying that they were available for that date (eek!), along with tons more information including location options for our small, intimate wedding and referrals to other wedding services - such as hair/makeup, officiant, etc. They also promptly sent over the contract to lock in the date and secure their service. We were able to get everything squared away pretty quick after the initial conversation. Woohoo! The day of the wedding was even better. Joe and Kathleen had us all meet at a restaurant close to the Greenbrier spot in the Smoky Mountains so we could all carpool. When I arrived, she let me know that there were quite a few families swimming in the river near where the ceremony location was going to be, and said that we could still try it there or we could go to another place in the vicinity that could be a bit more private. I immediately opted in for the secondary location and we were on our way. They already had that back up plan in place and it worked out wonderfully. (On the drive up to the secluded spot, we saw cute little bear cubs and it was perfect!) We were able to unload our folding chairs, get all set up and begin the ceremony on the river's edge. It was more beautiful than I could have ever imagined. After the ceremony, Joe and Kathleen popped into action to get a spot set up to take family photos with all of our guests. They were both very conscious of our family structure - with divorced parents, siblings, friends, etc - and we began taking photos very quickly and efficiently. Kathleen also had extreme attention to detail from necklaces not being centered to strands of hair out of place (which was common - due to the crazy humidity. hah). She was very quick and concise with her direction and positioning of all of the family as Joe was snapping away, capturing beautiful shots. From start to finish of family photos, it was probably about 30-40 minutes. After that, our family then headed back to Knoxville for our dinner and my husband and I stayed for our bride & groom photos. We took a couple at the ceremony location and then also moved onto the rocks in the river - it's okay because we had Vans and Converse on. We could be adventurous. :) We also drove down toward a couple other river banks and took more photos. Both Joe and Kathleen had tons of beautiful spots picked out for our photos and they were gorgeous. They both had us play a couple games, like closing our eyes and trying to kiss each other which has us both laughing. It made for really cute photos of our genuine smiles. They also asked if we had any specific shots in mind, so we opted in for a couple photos with our beloved Orange Subaru Crosstrek. I can honestly and wholeheartedly say that our wedding wouldn't have been as great as it was without JoPhoto. They made a huge impact and we are extremely grateful. Since we had to have a small wedding this year due to COVID, we are tentatively planning on having a larger ceremony next July for all family to attend. orial Day weekend but was canceled in light of the current pandemic. These plans for elopement came together within 2 weeks. Throughout the process Kathleen was responsive, friendly, and put both of our minds at ease. It is obvious that she has extensive experience with elopements in the park and helped us make the process completely painless. She also put us in touch with the person we needed to contact to get a permit to get married in the park. By the end of that day after speaking with her, we had our permit and were ready to go. The day of the wedding, Kathleen and her husband were incredibly warm and welcoming. They met with us and our officiant and took us to a special location for the ceremony. They have several locations they are familiar with and scouted out and led the way (great for those who are out of town and eloping!). From there, we went to a couple other locations as well! The views and scenery were stunning. You can tell Kathleen and Joe have great hearts and love what they do. There was no tension and we never felt rushed. They asked us a couple times if there were any shots we wanted that we didn't get and made sure to include them. My husband and I are somewhat awkward in front of a camera and they put us at ease, playing almost "newlywed games" with us to give our pictures a natural and light feel. The best part - we got our photos the DAY OF the wedding. She had initially stated that she'd send us a couple the day of and the rest within a week, however we were so surprised and happy we got them in such a short time. They were stunning, great quality, and with a link for download that does not expire. Without a doubt, I would remember JoPhoto. athleen was so attentive to our daughters needs the day of the wedding that I almost felt like she had a personal attendant and that took a lot of stress off the Mother of the bride! I knew we were in great hands and didn’t have to needlessly worry! My daughter had her wedding at the Foundry at the Fair site in Knoxville. Before the wedding began, they took her and the Groom somewhere on the grounds and took some pictures against some old wooden carved doors that I didn’t even realize existed on the property! These turned out to be some of our favorites! They were so organized with their timeline and the day flowed smoothly. When we got the photos back, all I can say is...WOW! We also used them for their engagement photos and we have had many people tell us they were the best engagement photos they had ever seen!
