Hi, I'm Kari! Looks like my video-making hobby got a little "karied away," and now I own a business. With a large family comes lots of weddings, and I have been an avid wedding attender for as long as I can remember. What sparked the idea to merge my love of weddings with my love of videomaking was when a relative asked me if I could videograph his wedding. I said yes, but I would have to learn how first -- I had a year to prepare. I then got myself a part-time job shooting weddings for Complete Weddings + Events out of Fargo, and absolutely loved it all. The fulfillment I felt when filming and editing wedding videos was the reason I decided to start my own business. Karied Away Video was officially established in 2023. As the business grows, I one day hope to turn it into my full-time career. What a dream job it is to be part of capturing memories for couples on their big day. Videos keep the memories alive with the ability to be replayed over and over. In fact, a wedding video is one of the few things preserved in time that you will get to forever keep from the actual wedding day. Karied Away Video is currently based in Fargo, ND. It's hard to believe, but this past year Grassfire Studios celebrated 10 years of wedding videography! I'm filled with gratitude to reach this milestone. It means the world that hundreds of couples have trusted us to capture their most cherished moments. It's also time to turn a new chapter. In October, our team captured our last wedding. We'll be winding down our operations over the next few months. It's a bittersweet transition, but the timing is right. I'm looking forward to more weekends at the lake this summer and time spent with friends and family, including the foster children who have become an important part of our lives these past couple of years. As you'd expect, I've spent time reflecting on this journey. I'm grateful for Justin, our co-founder who shaped our early years in the most meaningful ways and Sara who helped bring Grassfire to new heights. I'm also thankful for the many other team members who shared their creative talents along the way. Most of all, I'm grateful for the couples who I've had the opportunity to get to know over the years, especially those of you who have stayed in touch after your wedding day.
