This review is very overdue, but since it's been a year and half since our wedding and we still think Amy is the best ever, hopefully it holds even more weight! We cannot recommend her enough as a wedding and engagement photographer. If I had to pick out two top reasons why: 1) Calming Presence - Amy added zero stress to our day, she is the perfect balance of doing what's needed to get the shots while ensuring that we felt comfortable and not overwhelmed by photos. She's kind and unassuming and blended into our big day with ease. 2) Her Eye - Amy found the best spots and angles for our day and produced the most beautiful photos we could have imagined.

Despite our wedding being super small (just parents), it felt totally natural and breezy to have Amy join us. She was able to capture amazing, genuine shots and we always felt relaxed with her behind the lens -- which isn't always the case! It was rainy on our wedding day, so we were forced to hold the ceremony inside a community center-- there were eyesores everywhere you turned- (EXIT signs, ugly chairs...) but she managed to frame her shots so that it didn't look like we only paid $125 to rent the whole place ;) She has a great eye! She also had a pair of tiny scissors in her camera bag that saved me when I needed to cut a few strings off my dress! Always prepared! We were floored by the final images she captured and really impressed with her turn-around time to delivery. Her client intake process was really professional and thorough, without feeling overwhelming. In short, Amy was awesome and we couldn't have been happier!

Choosing Amy as our photographer was one of the best decisions we made for our wedding day. She was incredibly organized and professional throughout the process. When we decided to go forward with a COVID wedding, Amy was flexible, patient, and supportive. Neither of us loves being in the spotlight and we had not done an engagement shoot, so we had no idea what it would feel like to be in front of a camera all day. Amy made it all so easy... and surprisingly fun! She instantly made us feel comfortable. We LOVE the photos (and my mother-in-law is a professional photographer, so we chose Amy's style after much deliberation). We couldn't recommend her more!

I couldn’t be more excited to review Amy! She was seriously the best ever! Not only were her pictures absolutely perfect and what we hoped for but her willingness to serve us and go beyond what we asked was absolutely incredible. She made us feel so comfortable and was an absolute joy to have share our day with. Her sweet spirit and her friendly easy personality made the whole day perfect. My husband and I couldn’t stop talking about how amazing she is. We couldn’t be happier with her as our photographer!

We really can't say enough great things about Amy! She convinced me (reluctantly) to have an engagement session, and she was absolutely right that it would be worth it. Not only were the pictures great, but on the day of our wedding, with all the nerves building up in anticipation, it was great to have a familiar face (even though we had only met in person once) taking our pictures. If nothing else, they were worth it just for that. Before our wedding day even began, Amy was involved in helping us get our timeline straightened out for the big day. It was so comforting to have the assistance of someone who had experience in this sort of thing, and the foresight to know how much time we'd have for pictures, when and where we should be based on daylight, etc. Amy was more than a photographer for us, she assisted in the planning and coordination, in making sure things went smoothly throughout the day. Of course, the end product (the photographs) were amazing! They look great! I admittedly don't have a very discerning eye for this sort of thing, you'll have to talk to my wife about how great of a job Amy did with all of the natural lighting and picture choices, etc. For me, I couldn't be happier with our decision to go with Amy for her professionalism, organization, experience, and amazing attitude and friendliness throughout the entire process. I don't like taking pictures, but I had a lot of fun with Amy behind the camera! We'd choose her again in a heartbeat. Thank you so much Amy!

We really can't say enough great things about Amy. Even before our wedding day, she was so helpful in organizing the entire day's timeline, which really helped put our mind at ease, that everything was scheduled and organized, and we knew exactly what to expect, and where to be and when. On the day of our wedding, it was so nice to have a familiar face taking our pictures (we definitely recommend doing an engagement session even if only for this reason!). She was so pleasant, professional, and organized on what can be a crazy day, she really helped keep everything moving forward and on schedule, so we could spend as much time as possible with our guests. As amazing as she was during the actual planning and picture taking process, the results of her work were even more impressive! We received our sneak peak only two days after the wedding, and the full gallery only another three days later! We couldn't believe how quickly everything was completed. Beyond that, the pictures all looked so amazing, and we had so many to choose from to make our album. We would definitely recommend Amy to anyone looking for a photographer!

Amy was a dream to work with on our wedding day! We are in love with our pictures and she captured the day perfectly. From start to finish Amy was incredibly organized, professional and communicative. Our pictures came back so fast and there wasn't one that we didn't love. When my husband and I started to plan our wedding, I already knew that the two highest priority vendors on my list were photography and videography — such high priority that I would not finalize the date with my venue until I knew that I would be able to have my top choice vendors for the Big Day! We researched about a dozen photographers, including Amy, who was well known to our venue and thanks to her lovely blog, I just fell in love with her photographs for capturing the natural light and candid moments. I was thrilled to find out Amy was available for our tentative wedding date and I booked her immediately. Fast forward to the wedding day. I have to echo the numerous other reviews that document how fabulous her personality is. We were immediately comfortable with her. She gave clear direct instructions and she was efficient. We never felt rushed throughout the day despite a very tight schedule and many moving parts. Nothing felt too posed and she gave us lots of opportunities for candid shots. We got every photo we wanted and more. It’s nearly impossible to narrow down the number of photos we want printed in an album. We are so grateful to Amy for documenting our day. One more little detail to think about when you book your photographer: her photography style avoids flashes and clicking that would have totally gotten in our videographers way. As I said, my videographer was my other highest priority and she worked so well with the videography team too!

I cannot speak highly enough about Amy and her work - we could not have chosen a better photographer to capture our wedding day. I knew Amy would be a wonderful choice from the moment I first reached out to her - we were planning our wedding from afar, so she suggested we FaceTime to get to know each other before agreeing to work together. That simple step made her feel like a trusted partner throughout the wedding planning process and made us feel comfortable with her from day one. This was only amplified by all of the regular communication we had with Amy leading up to our wedding - she kept us on track with detailed spreadsheet templates and iron clad timelines that kept things moving beautifully when we got to our day. Once we got to our wedding date, we felt totally confident that we would get all of the shots we were hoping to get - and we got all of them and more. Amy was a calming presence throughout the entire wedding day. She was professional, discreet, offered direction when we needed it, and made us feel totally at ease. She is a fabulous person - so friendly and kind - and working with her was a total joy. She captured so many gorgeous images of us, our families, and candids both hilarious and heartwarming. Amy is incredibly talented and was such a pleasure to work with. She's super down to earth and personable while also efficient and thoughtful about her work. Amy came highly recommended by several vendors that we booked for our wedding and she exceeded expectations. From the moment we visited her website and jumped on the phone with her, we felt comfortable and knew we were in good hands. Over the course of 9 months to a year we touched base often and she researched spots in town that we were considering for our first look, portraits, wedding party, etc. Amy went to all of these locations and found even betters spots that fit our vibe and had better lighting/shade options. Prep work and planning was diligent and well done. On our big day Amy was calm, cool and collected - there were a few weather hiccups during our first look but we discussed our options and still made 98% of the original plan work. She's a maven and very patient. She's also very unobtrusive and called very little attention to herself while also capturing great close-up candid shots. Lastly, her turnaround time was super quick. We received a sneak peak within days and the full album of ~900 photos in just over a week. We would absolutely recommend Amy - she was a huge part of our day and we absolutely love the final product! Amy was absolutely wonderful to work with—I’m already dreaming of family photo sessions with her in the future! She was so organized and detail-oriented, which made planning long distance a breeze. In addition to helping us plan in the months leading up to our wedding, Amy was also great with keeping us on schedule the day-of. Amy is so talented at her craft and an absolute joy to work with. She made the planning process easy and fun and is super communicative. She truly went above and beyond to make our day perfect. My husband and I are so lucky and grateful that Amy Donohue took our engagement photos and documented our wedding day. If you look at her portfolio, it’s obvious Amy’s an incredibly gifted photographer. However, what sets her apart from other photographers is that she’s incredibly thorough, organized, thoughtful, and easygoing. She’s such a calming presence and it’s genuinely a joy to be around her and work with her. Although we generally feel awkward in front of a camera, with Amy behind the lens, it just felt like an old friend was hanging out with us and snapping (the most beautiful) photos. While she did an amazing job of organizing everyone to take the formal portraits we requested, she did an equally fantastic job of letting the day unfold organically and capturing genuine candid moments of love, joy, and celebration. We can’t recommend Amy enough and we can’t wait to hire her again to photograph more family milestones!

Where can I even start? Hiring Amy as our wedding photographer was the #1 best decision that was made for the whole wedding (other than picking the groom, of course!). Amy did our engagement photos in Vermont, and we were so in love with the whole process and the final product that asked her to travel to Louisville, KY to photograph our wedding. Not only is her work brilliant, but she has the most kind, calm, and gentle personality, which is exactly what you need on your big day! In fact, the moment she showed up on our wedding day, I immediately relaxed and knew everything would be ok because she was there. She is incredibly organized, professional, and timely in everything she does. And above all, her photographs are truly art. I could brag on Amy and her work for hours and it still would not explain how special and talented she is. If you have a change to book Amy for your wedding, do it as soon as you can!!!

Amy was not only very professional but a delight. The pictures were beautiful and very artistic. She captured my daughter and son-in-law's personalities and all the energy and joy of the evening. In the romanticly lit barn she managed to capture all the action of the enthusiastic dancing with such color and clarity!

During the search for the right photographer I stumbled upon Amy's Instagram account and immediately fell in love for her passion for photography and Vermont. Simply put, she captures authentic moments. We met with Amy at a coffee shop in Vermont and knew it was a good fit > 1. her experience, schedule, and approach matched our expectations 2. She eased my husband's worries that the day would not be spent only trying to capture the perfect shots. Amy absolute killed it on wedding day. She is extremely talented, level-headed, and just plain cool. She was never over-bearing. Multiple friends came up to us during and after the wedding to let us know they loved our photographer. Family and friends have complimented her elegant yet gritty style that truly captured the day. Overall she exceeded our expectations and our photos came out absolutely stunning. Authentic. Great Editing. Every shot was our favorite shot. We can not wait for her to capture future milestones in our life :)

Amy provides outstanding work and service. We found her images online (immediately impressed) and had a quick facetime with her to get to know one another. It seemed like we were on the same page and immediately booked her. We were unable to meet face to face prior to the wedding but we connected her with our venue and she went there to meet our coordinator and to get a lay of the land. She was in touch with us the entire time and has the most fantastic organizational system to ensure you get the photos that you want on your wedding day! Definitely follow her lead!! Engagement photos weren't as important to us so we chose to have a second photographer (that Amy chose) who was also fantastic. I never had to worry or direct because she had a vision based off of what we had talked about. Fast forward to the wedding day where she was able to use a diverse set of back drops and capture every important moment. The more posed photos do not look that way at all - but ever so natural and able to capture the exact emotions of the day. She also captured the candid photos so well. Now that the wedding is over we have continued to hear from her with a preview, blog post, and then the formal gallery. The quality of her photos is remarkable. If we had to do it all over again we would absolutely choose Amy and plan to when we have to do things like family pictures!!!

From the moment we hired Amy she was a dream. We worked with her for our engagement photos as well as wedding. Amy has such a sweet and calming personality so we were instantly comfortable with her. At the same time, she was able to take control of the situation during our family portraits to keep things moving and get us to our party as quickly as possible. Amy is fantastic! She captured our Woodstock, VT wedding day so perfectly and I will be forever grateful for the lasting memories we will have from her images. There are not enough positive words to describe how wonderful it is to work with Amy. Photography was really important to our big day, and once we saw Amy’s work we knew she would capture our day perfectly. In the months leading up to the wedding, she was organized, quick to respond with info and feedback, and flexible with any changes we requested. On our wedding day, she and her second shooter Delaina were professional, fun, and comfortable to be around – something to consider, since you spend so much of your day with your photographers! In the few months since our wedding, Amy has been quick to get us our photos back and the results are absolutely breathtaking. She captured so many great moments that we have had a hard time narrowing down our favorites to order as prints. Her phenomenal work speaks for itself, but working with Amy was an added layer of delight. Cannot recommend choosing her as your photographer highly enough!

Our wedding was very budget-conscious, but we felt that photography was crucial and decided that we wanted to invest in a professional with an amazing eye and artistic sense. We couldn't have asked for a better wedding (and engagement) photographer. We first met Amy during our engagement shoot, on a freezing-cold NH day. We were immediately put at ease by her kind, upbeat attitude, and she did everything she could to keep us warm and happy during the shoot (including driving us around in her car with the heat blasting in between locations). Then, on our wedding day, Amy and second shooter Mike were the perfect balance of unobtrusive and prolific. We asked for photos of our guests, and we were blown away by how many special moments they captured, both between us and between our guests. Amy also delivered our photos incredibly fast, so we got to see them as soon as we returned from our honeymoon. We will treasure these photos for the rest of our lives. Thank you, Amy!

The guy's perspective... Like many guys, I'm not thrilled about standing in front of a camera. It wasn't the part of my wedding I was most excited about. Amy was fantastic. The first time we met Amy, her professionalism really stood out. She was prepared, organized, knowledgable. Over time I grew really comfortable working with Amy because she made it clear that she "got" us. An example, my wife and I aren't particularly good at posing for photos. Amy picked up on this quickly. She gave us enough direction to abate the awkwardness of standing in front of a camera, but not too much that we felt disingenuous. My family also mentioned that they barely noticed her on wedding day (in a good way!). Ultimately, the photos came out beautifully; they are exactly what we wanted. We recommend Amy without any hesitation, it really was a pleasure working with her.

I don't even know where to begin. Amy was absolutely amazing, with out a doubt. She was sincere, non obtrusive, incredibly professional, caring, thoughtful and has taken photos that 5 months later I still can't stop looking at. I absolutely loved her style and demeanour, my friends and family loved her, truly the second best decision I made that day;) If you would like a photographer that will capture your mood, memories and love Amy is my number one pick. Hiring Amy as our photographer was one of the best decisions we made in all our wedding planning - she was OUTSTANDING. Just the perfect combo of personal and professional. Not only were our photos beautiful, but the whole process of working with her was a joy. From the beginning, she took the time to get to know us as a couple. She was incredibly helpful with expectations and info in the months leading up, great at communicating and answering questions. On the day of, she continued to exceed my expectations by being present and focused, but never obtrusive; she kept things moving so we never got to the point of feeling rushed, and she graciously stayed longer when our original window ended before the cake cutting. Even following up with us after the wedding, Amy was great: our jpegs arrived in a very sweet box, and she had our preview done and ready so fast it made my head spin! Not only was working with Amy delightful, but her work itself was stunning, emotionally evocative, and exactly what I wanted. She did a phenomenal job of capturing the special moments of our day. Overall, Amy is an extraordinary combination of talent, warmth, and professional consideration. I could not recommend her more highly!

Amy did an amazing job with the photographs of our wedding and was so easy to work with putting us at ease right away! Our friends and family cannot stop raving about how beautifully all the photos turned out! We wanted lots of casual group shots of as many of our guests as possible and Amy captured the love from all of them so well from the youngest at 1.5 years old up to the young at heart. I cannot thank Amy enough for her hard work!

Amy did a fantastic job photographing our wedding. She took her time to get to know us--it was clear that for her our wedding wasn't just another job. We really appreciated the care and energy she put in to the preparation for the wedding. She helped us think through the important photography decisions, e.g. whether to do a first look or not, where at the venue site the first look and portraits should be photographed, etc. She managed the actual wedding day extremely well, by working quickly, but not rushing through all the preparation photos, the first look, and the portraits. And most importantly the actual photos themselves turned out great. We highly recommend Amy.

Amy is incredible, and I would choose her again in a heartbeat. We chose her because we wanted photos that were timeless. When looking through portfolios online, it seemed like so much of what we saw looked like stock photos, and we couldn't picture ourselves in those kinds of portraits. But Amy's photography is different. She uses as much natural light as possible, and really understands how to highlight the natural surroundings. We got married in Vermont because it is one of our many homes, and wanted to have a real sense of place in all of our portraits. We got Amy, and our wedding photos are exquisite. She is so warm and flexible, yet very professional. She is upfront about her pricing and her products, and we truly believe that this was money well spent. Can't wait for another chance to work with you!
