Southern Rum Runners

When we first met with Natali it was an instant connection. She made the consultation experience so enjoyable and even gave us samples to try. We were initially going to get married at The Annex which required the bar services to be catered by Rum Runners ACS (formerly Southern Rum Runners). For the Annex, we were quoted $4,000 plus a $720 gratuity and $650 deposit/set-up fee, which we initially were quoted for $500. The estimated total was $5,370 for an estimated 200 guests for moderate-heavy drinkers. We then changed our plans about 6 months out and decided to have a smaller wedding at our family’s private property with only 100 guests. We did not want to lose out on our $650 deposit/set-up fee, and since we had such an enjoyable experience with Natali we asked Rum Rummers ACS to come out to our private property and cater. Since we cut our guest list in half, we estimated a price tag closer to $2,000-3,000. Once the bar closed, we got hit with a $4,009 bill before tips and not including the $650 set up fee we paid. Using Rum Runners cost us a total of $5,460.80 for HALF the guests we were initially quoted for. We were initially quoted at $5-7 per cocktail in their breakdown. They mention Rum Runners “prides itself on offering prices that is generally below retail pricing”. Even at the highest price of $7, at the price we received you would need to order over 500 premium cocktails to justify the price tag. That’s about 5+ cocktails per person! Keep in mind…we had less than 100 guests show up, and not everyone drank from the bar. We have continuously asked for an itemized receipt and were never provided with one. Google says they are permanently closed, but I know they still cater the bar services for the Annex and I’m sure for other venues as well. We definitely DO NOT recommend utilizing their services for your bar catering needs. If you are required to use them, review your contract very carefully and ask for a new contract should your circumstances/guest count change.
