y, We had our wedding Saturday 8/21/21 at the Columbus Athenaeum. John Rose was our DJ. We just got back into town and I'm writing to let you know a few issues. • John did not seem to be a fan of us having our personal friend being the host. • A speaker he brought was blown (if you are looking at the stage, left side). I did not mention it because I knew there wasn't much that could be done. • The quality of the father daughter song was very poor (John Denver, sunshine on my shoulder) If I would have known I would have chosen differently or provided him the song. • I didn't put many songs on the site because I wanted my friends to request songs, but he wouldn't play them. I had to go up to him and ask him why. • He played the cupid shuffle when I put that on my do not play. I'd rather he asked about that song. I get it that it gets people to dance but I can't stand it. • He started playing Hispanic dance music which is fun but not fit for the audience. My best man asked him to stop/play something else and he brought up his personal life. He argued with our best man further. o I found out that is when he ran up to me to ask me if I was having a good time. I said yes, to which he replied that is all that matters. I didn't know it was because my guests wanted him to play other music to which he was refusing. We did had a great night for I wouldn't have let anything prevent that. John was nice to us but overbearing. He made me and the guests feel awkward. The guests were not a fan and that was disappointing. I thank you for taking the time for reading this as well as your prompt service. I also liked the easy to use website. Ashley I await your reply prior to posting any kind of review. Hi Ashley, I had a chance to talk to John and here was his replies. 1) John said that he was absolutely fine with your friend being the host and he is sorry if that was how he came across. It is a little awkward at times to coordinate with someone who has never done this before. 2) The speaker does work however, he said the speaker sounded like something was loose inside and was more pronounced when the bass was kicked up. He is getting it checked out. 3) The song you chose for the father/daughter dance was not working properly so he had to play one off the internet on the spur of the moment and the quality was not as good as he had hoped. 4) There were a lot of requests that people asked for. John did play a lot of them. Unfortunately there was not enough time to play every song and there were some songs John did not have. But he never refused to play anything that he did have. 5) John did get a few requests for the cupid shuffle and he forgot to check it with the do not play list and he apologizes for that. 6) Desposito was requested and was well received so John thought he would play a similar song. The best man came up to John and said “This music sucks” and did not ask for a request. John just tried to make some small talk. 7) Later on the best man came up and said John sucked. No request was made again. It is easier to help if people aren’t enjoying the music if they make a request for what they would like to hear rather than just being critical of what song is playing. John always tries to do his best to make sure the bride and groom are happy and all of their guests are as well. He did try to do that with your show.
