Easiest Part of the Wedding! posted 10/4/2013

It was so great that so many people contributed to our honeymoon fund. We are planning the trip of a lifetime and are excited to spend some alone time together. Traveler's Joy made the whole process so easy. I would recommend it to anyone.

Awesome! posted 10/6/2013

I loved traveler's joy! Great website that is easy to use. Help staff is super helpful as well. Stinks that they take a percentage but they've got to make money. FYI: some more older guests might not like the idea so you might want to do a traditional registry as well.

My husband and I decided to create a honeymoon registry and were not sure what sites to trust. We chose Traveler's Joy and were not disappointed. It was easy to use and we were able to add specific excursions offered in Aruba that we liked best. Receiving the monetary gifts using wire transfer was very easy and it worked well that we could receive general gifts as well. They also provided a "Thank You" List that made it easy to track who gifted us which excursion. We had success with dividing up the price of an excursion into smaller chunks and our entire honeymoon was augmented by daily excursions!

Overall it was helpful to use traveler's joy, but in the future, I would recommend for others to just ask for $ directly from loved ones, so you don't loose $ you could use to travelers joy.

Honeymoon Fund posted 10/21/2014

Had an amazing trip courtesy of our friends & family that contributed to our honeymoon fund on Traveler's Joy site. It was easy to cash and made it so that people could rationalize giving us certain amounts for different activities, accommodations, and treats! I am so happy I used it.

Great idea! posted 10/13/2014

The honeymoon registry was such a great idea! We got to experience so much more on our honeymoon thanks to all the fun trips and dinners we registered for. So many of our guests loved the idea and we received everything we wanted on this registry. We also met many jealous honeymooners on our trip that wished they thought to have a honeymoon registry when they saw how much we got to do while away!

Amazing Honeymoon posted 10/9/2014

Because of Travelers Joy my husband and I were able to travel to Europe for 2 weeks and had the most amazing time! There were so many people who hadn't heard of this type of registry and thought it was genius! I have recommended this site to every bride I have come across since using!

The registry was so easy to set up and my guests loved being able to give me the gift of an experience rather than a traditional gift. I was surprised by how many wanted to participate - it was easy for me and them!

Stress free honeymoon posted 9/24/2014

My husband and I knew that we were going to be short on funds for our honeymoon after paying all our vendors out for the wedding and reception. It's bad taste to ask people for money, so we looked into honeymoon registries. I tried to compare several of them and Traveler's Joy just seemed like the most user friendly I could find. I don't like the percentage taken out from each gift but some sites charge your guests the interest - like a tax - and I didn't like that so we took the hit on the gifts ourselves. It worked out great - people really had fun picking out adventures for us or just breakfast in bed or shopping around town. You can be as creative or simple as you want in adding to your registry. Super easy and fun to use.

Great Option but High Processing Fees posted 9/24/2014 (modified 9/26/2014)

We used Traveler's Joy as a registry option for our wedding and it was a great idea, however we lost about $100 worth in processing fees.

I think they must all have fees, just some higher than others so make sure to do your research before signing up!

While we wanted to use our wedding as a way to stock our home with high-quality stuff, we knew that money was the best way to help us pay for our honeymoon (which will cost us much more than the average vacation.) You can't outright ask for money, so a honeymoon registry is a good way for people to pay for experiences (helicopter tour, round of golf, etc.) Traveler's Joy doesn't make the guest pay for the site expenses--which I prefer, but then again you're not getting the full amount of the gift. (Someone may think they're giving you $150, but you're getting 7.5% less.) Overall, though, the site is intuitive, I loved being able to personalize, and I am happy we are using it!

Exorbitant Transaction Fees posted 9/24/2014 (modified 9/25/2014)

While I understand that some wedding guests need to feel like they contributed something legitimate to the couple beyond just cash, Traveler's Joy is ultimately - just them giving you cash, but not just giving it to you - giving Traveler's Joy a huge chunk of your gift. The fees are exorbitant, almost $8 on every $100. The fees they take from each transaction add up, and FAST, and suddenly, you've lost several hundred dollars of your gifts.

Beside the exorbitant fees assessed on each transaction, the process of using Traveler's Joy was easy and painless. The site is very nice and simple to design, and because you can use the money for anything, it gives you freedom to change things if plans change.

Worked great! posted 9/23/2014

Traveler's Joy provided us with a great alternative for friends who don't want to buy boring dishes as gifts! I think we paid about 7% for the service but I don't remember exactly. Definitely worth it!

We loved using Traveler's Joy for our honeymoon! We used it as our primary registry and were concerned how some of the our older folks would take it, but they loved it! We had young and old alike comment on how cool it was, and how much they appreciated giving us an experience instead of a blender. The site is really easy to use and you are able to let your guests buy you experiences and things, even though they are just contributing money, they feel like they are giving you something real. I was surprised at how big of a cut Traveler's Joy takes from each of your gifts (I think its 8%), so just make sure to check that before you sign up. We absolutely loved this though and would recommend it to everyone!

Honeymoon Registry posted 9/23/2014

Thanks to the use of Traveler's Joy we had an amazing honeymoon! Our friends and family felt comfortable using the site to give us money toward an incredible trip. It was fast and easy to receive the gifts and we even received one while on our trip. It is great that your account is open for up to 2 years so if others want to give later they are able to!

Travelers Joy HoneyMoon Registry posted 9/23/2014 (modified 9/26/2014)

This site takes 7.5% off the top of everything you receive. It doesnt make that very clear on the website when u sign up. It doesn't sound like much but it adds up. The worst part is that they dont really provide any real service except a way to trick your guests into believing they are giving you an actual activity for your honeymoon. When in reality they are just a vehicle to transfer money from people into your account while skimming off the top.

Great Idea, Ok execution posted 9/23/2014 (modified 9/26/2014)

I loved the idea for a honeymoon registry. We set this up and figured out the cost of everything we would need. One person used the registry and then we switched to amazon. Most registries you find such as amazon, target, and bed bath and beyond are free to use. This one charges a fee to the person paying. So if someone gives you $100 to use on your honeymoon you only get $92.50 in total instead of the full amount. We canceled our registry with them because we would need much more than anticipated if everyone gave gifts through there. At the end we would be short what we would need. Instead people either gave us gifts off of amazon or just wrote us checks which we put into a honeymoon savings account instead. So if you want the full amount of money given you should not use this site. You could create your own honeymoon registry by setting up a blog with a paypal account or maaking a list and send it out with your invitations or wedding shower invitations. I was really displeased when I saw the fee and realized we didn't get the full amount people tried to give us. I understand the reason for the fee but I was still disappointed in it in the end.

Traveler's Joy was very easy to use! It does not require you to have a PayPal account like some of the other registry sites and only charges a holding fee when you remove the funds. It does not charge your gift givers and there are no hidden fees! You can remove the gift money in small amounts or all at once and it goes directly into your checking account making it very accessible! My husband and I had a great time on our honeymoon and we highly recommend using Traveler's Joy if you are considering a honeymoon registry!
