Easiest Part of the Wedding! posted 10/4/2013

It was so great that so many people contributed to our honeymoon fund. We are planning the trip of a lifetime and are excited to spend some alone time together. Traveler's Joy made the whole process so easy. I would recommend it to anyone.

Awesome! posted 10/6/2013

I loved traveler's joy! Great website that is easy to use. Help staff is super helpful as well. Stinks that they take a percentage but they've got to make money. FYI: some more older guests might not like the idea so you might want to do a traditional registry as well.

My husband and I decided to create a honeymoon registry and were not sure what sites to trust. We chose Traveler's Joy and were not disappointed. It was easy to use and we were able to add specific excursions offered in Aruba that we liked best. Receiving the monetary gifts using wire transfer was very easy and it worked well that we could receive general gifts as well. They also provided a "Thank You" List that made it easy to track who gifted us which excursion. We had success with dividing up the price of an excursion into smaller chunks and our entire honeymoon was augmented by daily excursions!

Easy Registry Addition posted 11/25/2014

This was a great way to receive money towards our honeymoon. It was very easy to transfer the funds; however we were disappointed to see how much in service charges we lost.

Great registry idea! posted 11/20/2014

My husband and I had most households items we needed already, so we did a small registry at Macy*s and one at Traveler's Joy. It was a very nice experience and I would recommend them to anyone. The only cost is a very small fee per gift. You can choose to pay it yourself, or have the gift giver pay it. We chose to pay it ourselves, and I think it was something like 3%. It was definitely worth it. We received many gifts that we can now use toward a honeymoon.

Traveler's Joy Registry posted 11/12/2014

Loved using traveler's job for our wedding gift registry. It is a super simple site where you can easily create your own page and make it as detailed as you'd like. Once you pick your honeymoon destination, the site even picks out popular sites and gifts for that location so you don't really have to do ANY work! Site is also very easy for guests of the wedding to donate to. I would highly recommend using this site for your honeymoon registry (if you choose to have one). They take a small percentage of money that is donated, but I found that all of the honeymoon sites do!

Honeymoon Fund posted 11/8/2014 (modified 11/8/2014)

This was the perfect way for people to contribute to our special day! We have lived together for over two years, and didn't need any more "stuff". What we wanted was an amazing Honeymoon to create memories that will stay with us forever. And Traveler's Joy helped make that possible!

Awesome option! posted 10/29/2014

My husband and I love to travel and really wanted to have an amazing honeymoon. However, our budget wouldn't necessarily allow for it within the same year as our wedding. My sister then surprised us with plane tickets to Greece and so we needed ideas to help fund the rest. She came across Traveler's Joy and it was one of the best things we did. We had a traditional registry for those who felt more comfortable, but many people took advantage of our honeymoon registry and we really had a trip of a lifetime. We wrote a detailed story about us and our trip, as well as the things we wanted to do. I think this helped our family and friends feel connected to us by giving gifts through this registry. Also, it forced us to plan the details early (as we needed to list them on the registry in advance of the shower, etc.), which had a great benefit. There is a small commission, but it was completely worth it for the flexibility it gave us to plan our trip how we wanted to. In addition, we could transfer money as needed so it was like its own savings account until we needed to book hotels and could make an easy transfer to our bank account to do so. Great service and awesome option!

Honeymoon Registry posted 10/28/2014

I really liked the idea of have a honeymoon registry as opposed to receiving cash or tangible gifts.

Overall it was helpful to use traveler's joy, but in the future, I would recommend for others to just ask for $ directly from loved ones, so you don't loose $ you could use to travelers joy.

Honeymoon Fund posted 10/21/2014

Had an amazing trip courtesy of our friends & family that contributed to our honeymoon fund on Traveler's Joy site. It was easy to cash and made it so that people could rationalize giving us certain amounts for different activities, accommodations, and treats! I am so happy I used it.

Great idea! posted 10/13/2014

The honeymoon registry was such a great idea! We got to experience so much more on our honeymoon thanks to all the fun trips and dinners we registered for. So many of our guests loved the idea and we received everything we wanted on this registry. We also met many jealous honeymooners on our trip that wished they thought to have a honeymoon registry when they saw how much we got to do while away!

Amazing Honeymoon posted 10/9/2014

Because of Travelers Joy my husband and I were able to travel to Europe for 2 weeks and had the most amazing time! There were so many people who hadn't heard of this type of registry and thought it was genius! I have recommended this site to every bride I have come across since using!

The registry was so easy to set up and my guests loved being able to give me the gift of an experience rather than a traditional gift. I was surprised by how many wanted to participate - it was easy for me and them!

Stress free honeymoon posted 9/24/2014

My husband and I knew that we were going to be short on funds for our honeymoon after paying all our vendors out for the wedding and reception. It's bad taste to ask people for money, so we looked into honeymoon registries. I tried to compare several of them and Traveler's Joy just seemed like the most user friendly I could find. I don't like the percentage taken out from each gift but some sites charge your guests the interest - like a tax - and I didn't like that so we took the hit on the gifts ourselves. It worked out great - people really had fun picking out adventures for us or just breakfast in bed or shopping around town. You can be as creative or simple as you want in adding to your registry. Super easy and fun to use.

Great Option but High Processing Fees posted 9/24/2014 (modified 9/26/2014)

We used Traveler's Joy as a registry option for our wedding and it was a great idea, however we lost about $100 worth in processing fees.

I think they must all have fees, just some higher than others so make sure to do your research before signing up!

While we wanted to use our wedding as a way to stock our home with high-quality stuff, we knew that money was the best way to help us pay for our honeymoon (which will cost us much more than the average vacation.) You can't outright ask for money, so a honeymoon registry is a good way for people to pay for experiences (helicopter tour, round of golf, etc.) Traveler's Joy doesn't make the guest pay for the site expenses--which I prefer, but then again you're not getting the full amount of the gift. (Someone may think they're giving you $150, but you're getting 7.5% less.) Overall, though, the site is intuitive, I loved being able to personalize, and I am happy we are using it!

Exorbitant Transaction Fees posted 9/24/2014 (modified 9/25/2014)

While I understand that some wedding guests need to feel like they contributed something legitimate to the couple beyond just cash, Traveler's Joy is ultimately - just them giving you cash, but not just giving it to you - giving Traveler's Joy a huge chunk of your gift. The fees are exorbitant, almost $8 on every $100. The fees they take from each transaction add up, and FAST, and suddenly, you've lost several hundred dollars of your gifts.

Beside the exorbitant fees assessed on each transaction, the process of using Traveler's Joy was easy and painless. The site is very nice and simple to design, and because you can use the money for anything, it gives you freedom to change things if plans change.
