DJ Herbert made our after party! Everyone was on the dance floor the entire time and we had the BEST time thanks to him!!! He was also incredible to work with throughout the entire planning process. Would highly recommend booking him!!!!

He was able to seamlessly blend multiple genres, cultures, and styles to keep everyone happy and dancing the entire reception. He was professional, collaborative, amenable, responded quickly to any and all messages, and most of all, he had the party GOING OFF the whole night! If there’s one thing you should take away from this review, it is this - You should DEFINITELY hire Herbert Holler to DJ your wedding! From the very first phone call, it was obvious that he is someone who loves his job. He has an extensive knowledge and love of music means no matter what you want the soundtrack of your wedding or event to be, he’s got you and your guests of ALL ages covered. He was communicative, easy to work with, clearly invested in making sure we had a great time at our wedding, and that everything ran as smoothly as possible. In fact, at one point, he noticed from behind the booth that we were one man short for lifting someone up in the chair during our extensive Hora. So what did he do? He put his headphones down, ran onto the dance floor, and kept the party going! As a musician and music lover myself, it was hard to trust someone else with the evening’s setlist, but we are so glad we did. He was super keyed into the dance floor, and read the crowd like an expert, always knowing exactly what song to serve up. We danced our asses off and could not have had a better evening. We even rented one of his lighting packages, which he set up to perfection. Herbert, thank you for helping us with our live performances, and for giving us such an incredibly memorable night!!

It’s been three weeks since our wedding, and our guests keep telling us they had a blast on the dance floor. I found that there were so many beautiful parts to my wedding. But when all is said and done, knowing the dance floor was packed the entire night reigns as the most fulfilling part of the night. Herbert kept the energy high … and then higher … and it only kept escalating. He’s talented, and he cared about us and our guests. Herbert Holler was great in every way — a total pro who has excellent taste in music but is also responsive to the crowd. We had multiple generations at our event — kids, adults, grandparents — and he got *everyone* dancing just through the music alone (ie he didn’t even have to resort to a ton of emceeing, but I know he’d be great at that too). From the ceremony til the last song, DJ Herbert kept the night flowing and lively. Our eclectic group of guests were all out on the dance floor at some point because he read the room so well and incorporated something for everyone. I've known DJ Herbert for over two decades, as a co-worker, a friend, a writer, and a DJ—and in 20 years he's always shown the same consistency and professionalism, grace, good humor throughout. We hired him to be our wedding DJ because we were confident he would know how to balance the night's logistics, interfacing with venue and vendors, special requests from a range of guests and all ages, and bring high energy revelry to create an inclusive and celebratory evening. He spoke with us at length weeks before the event to learn more about our tastes and preferences, and was particularly interested in what we *didn't* want to hear. On the night of the event, our guests danced for nearly four hours straight thanks to DJ Herbert attentiveness to the crowd's vibe. We had plenty of great vendors for our wedding but my wife and I agreed HH was our favorite. Incredibly flexible and easy to work with--you can tell he can put together a great reception with as much or as little guidance as you want to give him. He did for us. Great ability to read the room and keep people moving. Also just "gets it" in terms of how to support the big day for the bride and groom and keep 'em stress free and feeling celebrated. On top of that, just a funny, nice guy. Transparent throughout. Fun to talk music with on the planning calls. Really deep, eclectic knowledge of everything. You won't stump him, and he likely knows just when to play whatever song you throw at him. Lot of comments from our guests saying how much he killed it. Can't go wrong with HH.

Herbert is a class-act and was key in setting the right tone for our wedding reception. We did not have dancing at our reception and needed a careful EmCee to guide the evening along. DJ HERBERT HOLLER IS THE BEST! Working with Herbert was an absolute dream. We booked him for our wedding after having a phone chat - when we heard he's been DJing dance parties in NYC for the past 20 years, we knew we were in good hands. After our phone chat, we sent him a Spotify playlist to give him an idea of our tastes and that was it. We trusted him completely and it paid off. During the wedding, he nailed our sound cues and then went right into cocktail hour, dinner, and dancing. The music was always perfect for the mood - and when it was time for dancing, the dance floor was PACKED all night. He was amazing at reading the crowd's energy and keeping it going all night - and was happy to take requests from our guests. Herbert also came to the venue with his own sound gear and an audio technician, so everything sounded wonderful. We had no sound issues during our ceremony, and the rest of the night the music was loud but you didn't have to scream to be heard. Overall, he was an incredibly chill and lovely person to work with, and we absolutely would love to work with him again soon!

Herbert Holler really nailed it. We told him songs that were important to us, songs that we'd like to hear, and some songs we really didn't want to hear. He did an incredible job at keeping the party alive while mixing in the songs we wanted to hear. As an MC, he also kept the wedding moving. Herbert Holler is the DJ you want for your wedding. Herbert was wonderful to work with, he's extremely professional and most importantly is going to make sure every single person has a good time at your party. Putting on a wedding during COVID (or any time) can certainly be stressful but Herbert is one of vendors you can count on to make sure everything goes smoothly. He also has a wonderful knowledge of music and entertainment and puts all of that on display to make sure guests are engaged and having the most fun possible. When both millennials and boomers are on the dance floor together having a good time, you know the DJ has done a great job.

He was the highlight of our wedding. We have an eclectic group that can be shy and he made sure everybody was dancing and everyone just loved him. He really cared about making us happy and that we loved our wedding. I think he was the star of our wedding!!!! People still talk about that night and say the DJ was EPIC! The only detail about my wedding reception that I actually had an opinion on was the music. I’ve been to so many affairs that've had amazing food or held at some ridiculous venue and had the makings for a truly memorable occasion, but the DJ was just lame and couldn’t read a crowd or made poor song selections; which ultimately has your guests like “that is a real snoozer”. If you hire Herbert Holler to take care of your music entertainment, everyone will leave saying “that was the greatest time ever”. You could even serve a deli tray and it wouldn’t matter because there would only be time to dance.

Herbert is the best! He was really attentive to our needs and put on a great show. Easy to work with and really contributed to the vibe of our wedding.

He was the DJ for both our wedding ceremony and reception, killed it with both. Full dance floor from the first song to the last. Everybody dancing. We gave him a little direction on the music we like, but for the most part we just let him do his thing. If you're looking for a DJ that you can trust 100% to keep the party going all night, you gotta go with Herbert Holler.

Wow- What a fantastic DJ. I was looking for a non conventional DJ that didn't do the traditional wedding DJ schtick. I needed a professional music maker who knew how to read a crowd and get this party going. Herbert Holler is it. And what a pleasant working experience. From the moment of our first consult he was a calm and flexible partner. He listened to what we wanted and then went off and created the party of a lifetime. EVERYONE at the party loved the music, from 16 years old to 60. It was a finely crafted seamless music experience. Simply put- You need to hire this guy!

DJ Herbert Holler -- To say he was wonderful is an understatement. A rare find is a DJ who is both receptive (and patient) to many wish lists of song requests - spanning 4 cultural backgrounds - while finding a way to seamlessly mix these in throughout the night so the dance floor was always full. Beyond the exceptional music, Herbert was incredibly responsive and helped us logistically map out the evening. He asked a lot of questions in advance and was available to answer anything we needed (…and I sent a lot of emails...). We had compliments all night about the music. Could not recommend more highly!

We happened to give Herbert a ton of music feedback for our Jewish x Haitian wedding, and he absolutely nailed it. We went on a musical journey from the Horah to hip hop to reggae to Haitian zouk to wedding classics to karaoke. Name your style, and he’ll do his research and deliver. The best outcome is when people gravitate to the dance floor without thinking “Huh? That was a weird transition.” On the contrary, Herbert’s set was smooth, flowed organically, and his transitions between songs were technically on point 100% of the time. In conclusion, please put your wedding in Herbert’s capable hands! He really took the time to understand what we were going for, and he exceeded our expectations 1000%. Our guests (who are biased) loved what DJ Herbert Holler brought to our wedding day. Herbert was known to us because of his history at LPR in NYC. I knew he’d come out and bring a great party. So, we hired him to make our wedding the best ever. Then COVID hit and we had to scale down everything. We brought down the guest list and what we saw our wedding to be. However, we couldn’t have been more wrong. Herbert still brought a great party and he brought it all together for an unforgettable party. Herbert was great to work with along the way as well. Herbert was willing to go above and beyond to help make the ceremony and reception happen. He’s reliable, dependable, and flexible. He was willing to play whichever songs we wanted and he has an ear for context. The whole night was a constant build and afterwards guests were commenting on how great the music was for the reception. We couldn’t have asked for a better DJ for the night.

One goal for our wedding reception was an awesome dance party. We were familiar with DJ Herbert Holler from a few events and knew we could trust him with our big day, so as soon as we got engaged we reached out.  Thank goodness he was available as he created the dance party we dreamed of.  Guests young and old were commenting and complimenting the music and he kept it going all night!  He was super easy to work with, responsive and helped us with our schedule, song list and emceed.
