We absolutely loved Mathew and the work he did to make our wedding day and pictures perfect! He devoted time before our wedding to make sure the timeline was planned out and the moments and people that were important to us would be captured. On the day of he kept us on track with our timeline, was a calming presence, and was great getting our large families organized for group pictures. He was also discrete during our ceremony and reception, and I honestly forgot he was there! After our wedding we were SHOCKED by how amazing our photos turned out and they will be forever loved!

Matthew is a total dream! His talent is incredible and his work is so unique. He already had 23 photos ready for me to see two days after the wedding and they were absolutely beautiful. Our bridesmaids and groomsmen loved him, as did our families. When my husband and I met him, we knew that he was going to be our photographer! Since we did not have a videographer, I wanted a photographer to make up for that and he sure did!

Matthew first did our engagement photos. I hadn’t originally considered using him for the wedding because we were doing a destination wedding in Playa del Carmen Mexico. After we received the engagement photos I knew that no one would capture our special day the way he could. We just received our wedding photos back and I was blown away! He was wonderful to work with and his work speaks for itself! I highly recommend him!!!

Having representative, engaging, amusing, and high quality pictures of our wedding was one of our top wedding day priorities. We searched and contacted A LOT of photographers. When we found Matthew's website gallery, we reached out. He is so polite and his energy is incredible. We were quickly sold. Matthew is quick to communicate, incredibly polite, and shares a great energy. Leading up to and on our wedding day, he was wonderfully respectful, professional, and he engaged with us and our guests exactly as we requested. He is so creative and captured everything we asked for, as well as everything important that my wife and I never thought of. He captured our wedding in VERY high quality. He had a great turn-around time on the photos and he did not skip a single step. They all look fantastic! We were provided photos with the highest resolution, as well as a matching photo that is formatted perfectly for sharing on social media - what a smart idea. He also photographed my wife's bridal session and those photos are absolutely flawless. He fit his way in with all our other vendors, namely the videographer and DJ. The wedding went seamlessly, and we have Matthew to thank for a lot of that. Top notch guy. I recommend him to everyone.

Matthew is the absolute BEST! I cannot say enough nice things about our experiences with Matthew. Matthew took time to actually get to know Greg and me as a couple, and we've loved getting to know his girlfriend and fur-child Tucker! When he was photographing our wedding, it truly felt like we had a friend helping us. We received our wedding photos back extremely quickly, and it was such a treat! The photos are absolutely stunning. Matthew really captured our day in a special way. I can't stop looking through the photos! Choosing Matthew as our wedding photographer was one of the best decisions we could have made!

If you want breathtaking photos that don't look like every other wedding album then Matthew is your guy! He catches the emotion and beauty in photos better than anyone else I looked at. I was a little hesitant at first because his style is not the "typical/traditional" style of wedding photos I had seen when all of my friends got married, but I can say without a shadow of a doubt my husband and I are OBSESSED with our photos from Matthew! We have gotten multiple compliments on our photos in addition to guests saying that Matthew was wonderful the day of the wedding (which he was). Seriously, he is so easy and so much fun to work with. He is quick and you won't even know he is there (unless you want to find him to take a group photo...also easy to do).

Best Decision  When looking for a wedding photographer, I wanted two things. I wanted beautiful pictures (obviously) and I want pictures that captured actual moments, not staged representations. Matthew does both of those things impeccably. As I look back on our wedding photos, I tear up every time, reliving each moment as if I was there. This is because the photos capture the purest of emotions, they aren’t staged, but rather Matthew expertly captured each special moment as it happened. I truly could not recommend Matthew more highly, he was a pleasure to work with, timely, communicative and our photographs are more than I could have ever asked for! Prior to the wedding, Matthew made us feel comfortable as we took our engagement photos. He took time to get to know our personalities and make sure that our relationship and love were the focus of our beautiful photographs. Because he did such a wonderful job with our engagement photos, I had no worries that he would do a wonderful job at the wedding. I have been to so many weddings where I see the photographer everywhere – they are in the middle of every special moment, making sure they get it on film. But to be honest, I can’t remember seeing Matthew once during the entire wedding, yet every moment is expertly photographed. In my personal opinion, wedding photographs are one of the most important decisions you make for a wedding and I believe I made the best choice possible in choosing Matthew Pautz to do our wedding photographs.

Matthew's photos speak for themselves. We knew we didn't want a stuffy traditional photographer for our wedding, and we didn't wanted a bunch of photos of people standing around and posing. Matthew was our guy. He has a photo journalistic quality to his photos. They're fun, cool and candid. I only wish we would have taken more outdoor photos, because he can take a breathtaking landscape shot. He is such a talented photographer, and just an all around fun and genuine guy. He took so many extraordinary photos at our wedding, and we really enjoyed having him there. Honestly, we felt lucky to have him there. Hire him. He will not disappoint.

Matt was awesome! From the start, he responded quickly and answered the million questions that I had! He was always there to give advice and share tips. We did our engagement and wedding photos with him and they are beautiful! He's laid back and relaxed and makes photographing you as comfortable as possible!

Working with Matthew Pautz photography will be the second best decision behind saying “I do” on your wedding day. From the beginning, he is incredibly helpful with planning out everything from your engagement photos to the big day. We experienced a number of bad weather days that could have been even more frustrating if the photographer was not as flexible. His approach to photography will leave you with the most incredible memories - you’ll want to cover your house with them.

Handing the reins over to someone who would photograph one of the most important days of our lives was huge. I had browsed and browsed and contacted some photographers but something always just held me back from committing. Then I found Matthew. I knew right away that he was it, the same way I knew my dress the second I saw it. I believe in trusting your gut and instinct. His work makes you feel something. It isn’t posed and forced. This partially comes from his background in photography, continuous drive to learn, and a natural ability. Working with Matthew is a joy. He even made a believer out of my husband, who was impressed with his skill and knowledge. He’s adventurous and loves a challenge or new opportunity. He was super responsive and had a plethora of suggestions when I needed help or advice. His knowledge of venues and settings in South Carolina was so helpful and refreshing. On our wedding day, it felt like hanging out with a friend. He really gets to know you and capture that. There were so many times throughout the day that I would look over and see something and be like man that would be a beautiful picture. When I looked through the album he sent me, there they all were. He’s proactive and also captured so many beautiful things I never even got to see the day of. He really sees people and captures all those little moments, because those are the big ones. I cried over so many pictures because they are such a treasure. Of all the vendors we booked for our wedding, Matthew was above and beyond the best. He is not only an exceptionally gifted photographer but a wonderful person as well.

I can not say enough great things about Matthew! He did our engagement and wedding photos and they were all amazing. Even when our wedding day started to fall apart I had no doubt in my mind that our pictures would be anything less than perfect.

Matthew is phenomenal! I couldn't have asked for a better photographer. He has the best ideas and my photos are stuff dreams are made out of. They should be in magazines. If I could give him 100 stars I would!

I am so lucky I came across Matthew's photos for a friend of a friend's wedding when i was looking into who I was going to choose to be our wedding photographer. Not only are his pictures amazing (we focused on the candids and he KILLS IT!) but he is a joy to be around as well. I've known Matt a long time, I was actually a bridesmaid in his wedding long ago! Since then, our mutual love of the outdoors and photography has turned into many adventures: experimental hiking blue ridge mountain engagement sessions, vineyard sunset photography sessions, bridal portraits and of course, our wedding. I've never seen such a laid back and fun yet completely perfectionist in technique photographer. He knows how to take the little off handed events and create masterpieces. I love all of our photos! He's so fun and flexible to work with. Don't even think about anyone else. He's worth every penny. :)

We actually found Matthew by chance but once we did, we knew we had to hire him to capture our wedding day! As a wedding planner myself, I've worked with many talented photographers. Matthew's friendly, easy going personality, desire to get to know his clients and incredible raw talent put him at the top of my list both personally and professionally. We are beyond thrilled with the outcome of our photos, not to mention the amazing turnaround time for processing! Matthew did an AWESOME job for our daughter's wedding! I can't believe how great the pictures turned out. He is very professional in what he does. I've worked with many photographers and he is by far the best I've ever worked with. Besides the family group photos, you don't even know he's around taking pictures. There are not enough words to describe how much we loved working with Matthew. He was so responsive during the process leading up to it and then so great on the day of. He was with me and my bridal party all day and was so sneaky with the camera that we didn't realize he was there. We did a first look which was so much fun and totally calmed the wedding day jitters. During the ceremony and reception he was everywhere, I really don't think he missed anything! Every image is so beautiful I really don't know how we're going to narrow them down for a book. I would recommend Matthew to anyone, he is the best! I hope we get to work with again in the future for family portraits.

Matthew’s photos of my wedding and rehearsal literally brought tears to my eyes when I saw them. They really captured the joy and love of the weekend. I don’t think I could recommend him highly enough. On top of his talent he’s also a super nice guy that was fun to have around. Book him!

I really enjoyed working with Matthew Pautz Photography. He is an amazing photographer. During the overwhelming time of not knowing exactly what to ask for and not even being sure what we wanted Matthew jumped right in and had great ideas. I was truly amazed by the final product.

Matthew was a pleasure to work with! He was very prepared. In our initial meeting he answered any questions I had and stayed in touch. He came early to check out the venue because he had never shot there before. I was so excited to have a few sneak peak pictures the day after my wedding! What an awesome surprise! I absolutely loved having Matthew as our photographer! He was very professional and his pictures were just amazing! We had a family emergency right after the ceremony, so the Groom and I were unable to stay for the whole reception. Thanks to Mr. Pautz, we were able to enjoy the atmosphere and fun our families had through his pictures. I couldn't have asked for a better experience.
