Suril was an amazing DJ who was so kind and professional while keeping the party going! Tom has a great team over at 1,2 Step!

Our DJ, Gary, was early and all set up and ready to go when we finished taking our pictures outside. He had so many great suggestions for timing of all of the events since we were not able to have a traditional reception. He was very professional and did an excellent job with music during our "no dancing allowed" reception (we played backyard games but indoors, it was wonderful). Gary was game for anything and everything and the company as a whole was flexible when working through a pandemic wedding. If and when we do an anniversary party I will not hesitate to hire them again. They were affordable and worth every penny! Thank you!

We were soooo happy with our DJ, Gary! So professional and easy to work with. Most importantly the music was amazing. My guests are STILL talking about how great our DJ was a month later. I would absolutely hire them again for other parties and highly recommend them. They made our wedding amazing!

Oh. My. Word. I cannot say enough good about Gary (our DJ from 1, 2 step entertainment. If I could give Gary at 1,000 out of 10, I would. I had many guests come up to me during the wedding and talk about how great Gary was! He transitioned perfectly between song. He had great taste in music too! He worked so well with me since I had set up a surprise form my (then soon to be) husband and needed Gary’s help. He was incredibly kind as well. If you can, request Gary. You will not be disappointed! What an amazing way to celebrate my wedding! Thank you, Gary!!!!!

Tom was AMAZING! He went above and BEYOND for our wedding! When we had to call him 3 weeks prior to the wedding in tears because our venue cancelled on us Tom helped us find our venue! He even went there and took photos and FaceTimed with me! I can not thank him enough for everything he did for us! The montage was amazing! The photo booth was a blast! Our guests LOVED him! Thank you so so much Tom!

Tom was such an amazing DJ to have at our wedding on 8/29/20!! He worked closely with us to make sure our day was exactly what we wanted and adjusted so easily to all of the changes we had to make!! I truly can’t tell you how many people said “that was the best DJ I have seen at a wedding” the following day! It was an incredible night and we are so very grateful!!

DJ Gary was phenomenal at our wedding on 8/8/2020! He was super professional and made sure the reception ran smoothly. He kept us updated with any changes throughout the night. Gary was our DJ & he was great!! We have been to many weddings where we were disappointed the DJ didn’t have songs we wanted as a guest, wouldn’t take requests, wasn’t sociall etc and that was NOT the case! Gary was fun and sociable and really read the crowd. Gary took time on the phone to get to know Eric & I & help understand our vision for our wedding & dance floor. Tom & Tricia were so quick to respond & help us with anything we needed. We loved it all!

Quincy was the DJ for our wedding on 10/4, everyone had a great time and we loved the music!

Absolutely awesome!! We had SO much fun. Tom kept everyone on the dance floor & having a great time. He followed all of our instructions and accommodated all our requests. He was super considerate of what we wanted our night to be. He was professional & knowledgeable. He needed very little from us compared to other wedding vendors. When we met with Tom, we immediately liked him so we didn't mind paying the premium to have him at our wedding. Worth every penny!!

DJ Gary was awesome at our wedding! It was so helpful to chat with him on the phone before our wedding to go over specifics for both our ceremony and reception. We provided youtube links for the ceremony music we chose and it all went perfectly. Our guests loved the music and everything he played was spot on! We also used Trish for photography and I cannot say enough good things about her! She started while the girls were getting ready and stayed for all of the big moments of our reception. She went way above and beyond the duties of a wedding photographer! She helped get lunch for my step daughter while I was getting my hair done, she helped me with my train numerous times, my veil when it got stuck in a fence during our first look, and ran and got forks for my husband and I as we cut our cake and realized we didn't have any forks. I highly recommend both Trish & Gary, and 1, 2 Step Entertainment! Thank you for helping make our day perfect.

The DJ did a great job of coordinating the day of our wedding. Their help in managing the vendors and keeping to the schedule of the day was invaluable. Everyone was pleased with the music choices, and had a great time dancing.

1,2 Step Entertainment did a great job with our reception! Our first meeting was with Tom, and we chose to have him as our DJ-- we're very grateful we did, not only was he really accommodating of our many special requests for music throughout the reception (which we planned with him beforehand), but he also did a great job of making sure the reception ran smoothly for the guests, changing the order of our program a bit to accommodate for catering delays on the day of. He kept up the enthusiasm on the dance floor too! Would definitely recommend 1,2 Step to anyone planning their wedding, we found them to be really thoughtful and professional overall.

Everything from booking all the way to the actual day was amazing! Tom the owner is extremely responsive throughout the planning process and is flexible to chat whenever you need. We had Gary as the DJ for our big day and he was awesome! Not only was the music great, he kept us on schedule throughout the day and even edited the song we played for our bridal party coming down the aisle so it was long enough- above and beyond with 1,2 step!

We got married July 20th and had Gary as our DJ. We had an absolute blast! He kept the good music coming and people were constantly dancing. I was told by several of my guests that the music was great and it was the most fun they’ve ever had a t a wedding . The owner Tom was great to work with and their office is in constant contact with you to prepare for your day. They have a form you fill out with all of your requests and they’ll help you if needed. I 100% recommend 1-2 step!

I was so happy with my decision to hire 1,2 Step Entertainment. I met them at a bridal expo and I knew instantly that they were here to serve the people. Everyone I worked with was friendly and honest. They have a great system to enter all of your wedding details and follow up instantly. There price was extremely fair and they bring their own setup, which was pretty cool looking! Look no further! Hire them!

Absolutely phenomenal. Almost everyone told us our wedding was the most fun wedding they had ever been to. Gary was our DJ for the evening and did a spectacular job. He played all of our requests and the way he mixed them together made the energy level very high! I have personally been to a lot of weddings where the DJs play a lot the of the same "typical" wedding songs and Gary made sure not to make our a "typical" wedding dance floor. I strongly recommend using 1-2 Step Entertainment to DJ and MC your event or wedding! I talked with Tom in the very beginning to get everything set up and situated. He was very easy to talk to, and extremely down to earth. We had Gary as our DJ, and he kept in communication with me the entire time leading up to our big day. We even met with him in person to go over the details so that everything would run smoothly. When the day finally came, he directed the entire thing without missing a beat. He helped to make our day so special and so much fun. The dance floor wasn’t empty once the entire night. Our friends and family are still raving about how fun of a wedding it was and how great the music was. He’s even doing my cousin’s wedding February 2020! Highly, highly, highly recommend!

Tom was by far one our vendors we felt the most comfortable with. From our initial meeting we felt an instant connection and that is important to have with your DJ especially when both the bride and groom are music snobs! We had multiple FaceTime conversations just to discuss music.. who would’ve thought it would be so hard to pick music?! Tom made it that much easier for us! I couldn’t recommend Tom and his crew more! They made our celebration amazing!

We LOVED our DJ Tom!!! He made everything so easy for us and all of our guests raved about how great he was. We especially loved how he was able to take our obscure ceremony/introduction music and cut/play it completely perfectly. The price is super reasonable, especially for the quality and level of service you're getting. The build-your-own-playlist software they have was really easy to use. We can't wait to recommend him to our friends!

My husband and I, along with all of our guests had an amazing time at our wedding last month at Greektown Casino-Hotel. We absolutely loved DJ Mo! Not only was he a fantastic MC, but he was out dancing, singing, partying and on the floor with us. We could tell everyone had a ton of fun and that he kept the party going. So many of our friends and family came forward to tell us how much they loved our wedding and DJ Mo kept coming up! He was definitely a highlight of everyone's night. When people ask for suggestions on a DJ, we know who to recommend! We found him at our buddy's wedding a few years back and didn't look anywhere else. DJ Mo is one of a kind!

DJ Maurice is the best. He kept the dance floor moving all night love! My sister in law booked him for her wedding in September, looking forward to dancing the night away again!

I'd give 10 stars if I could!Our dj Tom went above and beyond! we had 7 "couples" in our bridal party and each couple was able to pick their own reception entrance song. Between emails and phone calls Tom helped me to set up our time line of dances, cake cutting, speeches etc....the music selection was phenomenal and Tom read our crowd great, keeping everyone out on the dance floor! We had people of all ages busting out moves! Tom did our ceremony as well. He gave us suggestions as to what types of music to play for pre-ceremony and dinner/cocktail and he was spot on! I could go on and on about how awesome our night was because of Tom and 1 2 step entertainment! Our guests loved making requests and having them played in a very timely manner! Highly highly recommend! Tom was definitely the backbone to our reception running smoothly!

Rating 5 stars due to their professionalism. The morning of our wedding, we received a call stating that Tom would not be able to DJ our wedding due to an emergency. Before I even had a chance to worry, Tom confirmed he had identified a back-up and that they would be there early to set up/ get to know us. Maurice (DJ Mo) was our backup and everything from our ceremony to reception went seamlessly. Maurice knew our music, accommodated us with a last minute request by playing a recording of the best-man toast and he made sure everyone was out on the dance floor all night long. He kept the energy going by actual getting out and dancing with us and our guests! What could have been a headache with other companies/DJs that don’t provide back-ups turned into one of the highlights of our night. Would definitely recommend 1-2 Step Entertainment.

Suril was an awesome DJ!! There were people on the dance floor all night! I gave him no requests besides my formal dances and he did a great job picking music that got people on the dance floor. Only thing keeping me from giving it a 5 star is because he played multiple line dances in a row. I love line dances but doing them all in a row was just too much and I was too tired. Other than that everything was great!

We had the BEST TIME! From the moment we met I knew it was going to be great. My dad had a last minute surprise for me (he had beauty and the beast show up at our wedding!!!!) and he only gave suril like 30 minutes notice to get a specific song and it went off without a hitch! It was perfect. We had 200 people attend and by the very last song there was probably close to 100 people still there ON THE DANCE FLOOR! We even convinced him to sneak in one more last minute song ;) the floor was packed all night and all I kept hearing after the wedding was “your dance floor was packed from start to finish, we never see that. Your DJ was awesome!” Thanks so much 1,2 step and Suril!!!!!!!!

Dj Maurice was beyond amazing! He made sure we always had everyone on the dance floor- immediately after dinner he dance floor stayed packed from 7-11 (including my four year old who danced the whole time). We are thankful for the amazing flow and my sister actually wants to book him for her wedding next September! Thank you!! Cheers!

We had Tom as our DJ for our wedding on August 18th. It was such a blast. I was so sad when the night was over because we all could have danced all night. He was great at telling us what was next and helping us along. He worked well will our photographers too. I'm really hoping that my sister chooses 1, 2 Step Entertainment for her wedding next year! I would have these guys at every party if we could! Everyone must have 1, 2 Step Entertainment at their parties!

1,2 Step Entertainment are the best! From the beginning they were very helpful and always responded fast to any calls or emails I sent out. Surreal was out DJ for our big day! He was amazing! We had DJ Gary for our wedding on 8/18/2018 and he was a hit to say the least! The dance floor was packed the entire night and I have to say it is because of the music Gary continued to play. He knew there were a few songs I wasn't the most fond of and if guests would request them, he made sure they came to ask me first if they were OK to play. He had mine and Nate's best interest in mind at all times. I sent him our timeline for the day so he made sure to try and keep us on track as much as he could, which is amazing because he was not only a great DJ but also a coordinator. I will always recommend 1,2 Step to any friend or family!

I ended up winning a Michigan DJ package from 1,2 Step Entertainment at a bridal show. Being a little skeptical that it was a scam, my husband and I met with Tom. He was very nice and talked us through everything. The online form was easy to fill out and the night was PERFECT! We had DJ Quincy and he kept people on the dance floor all night long! Definitely recommend!

DJ Surhil was amazing. He dealt with the challenges of our space head on, and with a smile on his face. He was positive, accommodating, and professional. The entire staff of 1,2 Step are very friendly and informative. You cant go wrong with this company!

Tommy and his assistant Shawn did an amazing job DJing our wedding! From the day we booked 1,2 step entertainment Tommy was always there to answer any questions and he is really great to work with! At first we weren’t sure if we wanted to do the “garter put on” part because we weren’t sure if the people who caught the bouquet and the garter would feel comfortable so Tommy suggested we could ask them that night if they would be willing to and I am SO glad we did because it turned out to be one of the funniest/best parts of the night. Thank you 1,2 step entertainment for being an important part of our wedding and for all of your hard work! You guys really made our night perfect!

The music at our wedding was great! We had people on the dance floor all night. Overall I was pleased but there were a few things that left me disappointed with 1,2 Step Entertainment. We were originally had Quincy assigned to our wedding. We had a hard time contacting him, he was very unresponsive to emails. After setting up a meeting with him, we were told that he would no longer be our DJ and now Shawn was our DJ. Shawn was very prompt in his responses and was flexible and made our prior appointment with Quincy work within his schedule. During our meeting, I was a little worried that Shawn didn't understand the vibe we were going for at our wedding but the end my husband convinced me he would do a good job. The day of he arrived on time and had everything set up and ready to go well in advance. Shawn did a great job on the music but when I came to running the reception (which Tom, the owner, had mentioned multiple times in our original meeting that the DJ controls the flow of the reception) it really lacked direction. We specifically asked Shawn to announce and ask people to make sure they sign the guest book, as well as to let people know when the late-night snack and our dessert was served and those announcements were never made. I think my biggest disappointment of the night was the lack of hype around our special dances (Our first dance, father/daughter dance, mother/son dance and anniversary dance). There were no announcements to let guests know these were going on. Specifically, during the anniversary dance, there were many couples that weren't on the floor because the lack of announcements. When I asked Shawn to ask all married couples to come to the floor again and to start over he waited till the end then said something like "ooh well that didn't go how I wanted it to, let’s do it over", at that point I told him to forget. He didn't even call out my aunt and uncle who have been married the longest and ask for a round of applause or anything. I was VERY disappointed with the lack of direction during my ceremony.

Warning LONG REVIEW Communication was great! Online planning tool was great! Pricing was pretty good also! I started off with a simple DJ service for my reception and later on added up lighting. Everything was paid months in advance. I got an email from someone in the company other than Tom informing me of my event DJ, that being DJ Gary. That was my first disappointment because I requested DJ Quincy. I had the understanding that it was not 100% guaranteed but before booking, Tom told me that DJ Quincy was available for that weekend and that “It’s very rare that a request doesn’t equal out to a client getting the DJ but in cases where personal conflicts/illnesses come into play, we have a back up ready for you.” It was at that point that I decided to book with them. So when I got the email about DJ Gary of course I asked Tom what happened to Quincy and he told me he was DJing another wedding in Makinac that weekend. He assured me that DJ Gary is amazing and travels to New York with him to do his families weddings. That was good enough assurance for me and I moved on. Gary was a really nice guy and accommodating whenever we talked to him but he dropped the ball soooo greatly on my wedding day that I ended my night in tears and didn’t dance at all (outside of my first dance with my husband and my dance with my father). I walked into the ballroom to see a preview of the decorations and the set up...and to my horror the uplighting was green...like a lime green or green with a hue of yellow. I asked Gary about it and he told me that was the closest thing to gold(which is what I requested) that they had. It wasn’t even CLOSE to gold no matter how you tilted your head or squint your eyes so I told him to just leave them white. I hated the white but green was NOT an option. He also could not use uplighting along one of the walls because there weren’t any outlets. Well maybe they should have extension cords or wireless up lighting. Nonetheless it was a complete waste of $300!!! After dinner, I informed the dj that my husband and I had to go and take some more pictures. We’d been working around hot, humid weather all day and it was finally cooler. I hated to be pulled away because the party music was just getting started. I also asked him to pass out the scratch off tickets or let everyone come up and get one. I said make sure you mention the theme of our favors “for richer or for poorer”. He commented back about how it was cool and clever and I told him I got the idea off Pinterest. I left at that point to go and take pictures. We were gone maybe an hour but we had a dj, a photo booth and we already greeted each of our guest at their tables. There was nothing left to do but party the night away. After we finished taking pictures by the water, I was zooming back to the building so I could get back to the reception. I bypassed all my guest outside thinking they were just hanging out outside(the bar was outside and the outdoor games we brought). Once I entered the building my friend asked where have I been and that she thought we left. I told her that we were taking pictures and let’s just go dance. I walked into the ballroom and its like the room stood still...ALL OF OUR GUEST WERE GONE. The decorations were being broken down and DJ GARY WAS PACKING UP THE UPLIGHTING rolling the cords up in his arm. I was sooo confused because it’s so early. Then some of our friends from outside came in to give us hugs, congratulations, and goodbyes. With each person that hugged me, I got more sad because just last year I partied the night away at their weddings. We spent so much money and here it is 8:30, and everyone is leaving. I asked my husband to go see if Gary passed out the scratch off tickets and a moments later he was walking back to me with a stack of 150 scratch off tickets in his hand. He told me that Gary said he forgot. So there’s another $150 wasted on scratch offs. I was trying to not let everything get to me, we still have the DJ for another 2.5 hours but then the venue cut all the lights on thinking that the reception was over because of course that’s how it appeared...and then that’s when I lost it. I ran off in tears. My groomsmen hyped me back up and we went to a club in full wedding attire and parties until 2am. I had a blast. This should’ve just been the original plan. The music/ dj is the single most important part of a reception. It’s a huge deal and it was a complete FAIL. Dj Gary did not mention to my guest that we were off to take pictures and would be back soon...causing everyone to think that we left. Also from what I heard from family and friends who were there is that they hustled to one song in the beginning and that his music selections never got the people back on the floor and that only the kids were dancing. So after an hour of an empty dance floor and not many guest left in the room, they started to break down the decorations and assume the night was over. I want a do over so bad but you only get married once, right?

Unbelievable! They were so easy to work with and very accommodating. Kind, easy and genuinely nice people. There are enough things to stress about on your wedding day and this company will make sure everything is organized well in advance. We have been told by multiple guests that we had amazing music and it’s because the DJ’s at 1-2 Step know how to read the room and play the music according. I am so thankful to have had Tom and that he was able to make it such a memorable night for everyone!

My husband and I met on the dancefloor- so the music was very important to us for our wedding. We wanted to make sure everyone was having a great time and dancing. I met with Tom (the owner) and knew it was the perfect fit. He was very friendly and professional. He made sure details I didn't even think of were covered! The day of the wedding, we had Ryan and he was fantastic. He was great at communicating with us before the wedding, professional, and timely. He knew the right songs to keep everyone happy and dancing! We also used their lighting which helped with the ambiance of the venue. We are so happy we chose 1,2 step for our wedding!

A friend referred me to 1,2 Step Entertainment and I've now been at 3 wedding with these guys as DJs (Tom 1x, Quincy 2x). They never fail to keep the guests dancing all night. My reception lasted until 1 am and Quincy had my friends dancing even after the music turned off. It was a blast and I definitely would recommend them to anyone. Great DJs for a reasonable price!

Tom was awesome! From the minute we met him at to the very end of our wedding he was great! They were easy to contact, I had a few concerns and they smoothed everything out! Tom kept our dance floor going all night and even ran our ceremony smoothly! Him and his wife helped pick out some songs for us that I didn’t have time to sit and think about. They were awesome!!!! I can't say enough good things about about Tommy! He played all our music from the ceremony to cocktail hour to dinner and dancing. He has an amazing site that makes requests and planning so easy! We had Quincy as our DJ at our wedding this past weekend on Mackinac Island, and let me say this, the music kept people on the dance floor the whole night. I was afraid that with three hours of uninterrupted dancing/music, there would be times where no one was on the dance floor. This was not the case at all, and several of my childhood friends spent literally the whole time on the dance floor because it was one good song after another. The online planning tool was a great way to plan for certain songs way in advance, and Quincy did an awesome job of adding great dance songs in with our "must play" songs. He was singing and dancing along with the music, and was clearly having a good time, which made it that much more fun for our guests. Even planning our wedding from afar was easy with this team, as we had an initial virtual meeting before booking with them and got all of our questions answered. Highly recommend 1,2 Step Entertainment!
