Being that my groom and I are both creative, we knew that we could easily plan a meaningful, beautiful, and personal wedding ourselves. But, what bride would want to be running around in her wedding dress frantically arranging flowers and payin...g vendors? Absolutely not me. We knew right away that we would need an experienced, reasonably priced and flexible Day-Of Wedding Coordinator to help pull it all off. We found even better in "2 Friends Events": we found TWO coordinators!
Not only are Nichole and Lindsay personable and friendly, but they really know what they are doing! I imagine that it is not the easiest job to coordinate a wedding with so many opinions in the mix. I am sure that it is even more difficult when the coordinator has not been with the bride and groom every decision-making step of the way. But these ladies asked the right questions. We met at the venue to discuss my vision. I told them what I had accomplished so far, what I wanted the day to look like, what concerns I had, what areas I needed their help with executing, and considered Nichole's excellent tips and advice. I could call, text or email anytime that I needed. Compared to other coordinators that I had looked into, who limit your number of emails or charge per phone call, that was a relief. Our DIY wedding, presented the ladies with a couple of uncommon challenges, but not to worry - all was taken care of perfectly! We had a coordinated ceremony rehearsal which was very helpful, and they even drove out to Berkeley to pick up our pies. On the big day, the flow of the ceremony and reception was flawless, our timeline was tight and they stuck to it, our vendors got paid, hiccups were discretely dealt with, clean up was painless, and everyone got off the property in a timely manner. We got our deposit back in full because of "2 Friends Events" (my Mom says "Thank you" for that!).
I have realized now that last minute panics (on my end), late vendors, and left behind boutonnière pins are bound to happen. Even the best laid plans can go wrong. But if you have a great team to back you up, that is invaluable. Champagne always calms nerves, allowing a small time cushion in your timeline for the possibility of late vendors is comforting, and experienced coordinators never leave home without safety pins in their emergency supplies! And of course, a phone call from my coordinator who was already on site while I was at the spa, on the morning of the day I was to marry the man of my dreams, that started with "You're getting married today, are you excited?!" was the perfect way to keep me focused on my goal for the day!
In the end, that ultimate goal was accomplished - we got married and had a fantastic time doing it! We are so happy that we choose "2 Friends Events" - thank you Nichole and Lindsay!
