In short: Do not book with them, find someone else.
In long: When I first booked them in July 2022, they seemed totally normal and fine, and their reviews were good so that’s why I booked them. I was corresponding with both Damien and Darren....
As soon as I paid my deposit in late July, that’s when they fell off the face of the earth.
Basically, from around mid-August to mid-November, I simply was emailing them trying to add on more of their services. I was absolutely polite, normal, considerate, etc. And yet, they would not respond to me until I double-emailed them a week later, and then they still wouldn’t respond until 1-2 weeks after that. I wasn’t even asking for much, they literally just weren’t answering my question in full, if at all. I understood it’s busy wedding season, so I was understanding and patient, but it became a clear pattern and totally unprofessional and inefficient. I even called once, left a message with the secretary who said they would call or email me back, and they literally just never did. And then another time I called and left a voicemail and literally just never got any communication back about that either.
Funny enough, I didn’t get a response to an email I sent on September 18 until November 22 because my fiance called (who could only get a hold of the secretary - no other employees seem to ever be there or available, including any manager/supervisors) and threatened to no longer work with them. Miraculously, I got an email from them two days later (an unprecedentedly quick turn around for them) and they were perfectly pleasant and helpful.
However, I then spoke to another bride who recently had them provide lighting for their wedding, and that bride said they had the exact same experience with their communication and did a mediocre job at their wedding. So, I decided I was just uncomfortable and this was adding unneeded stress to wedding planning, and I didn’t want to end up wasting thousands of dollars on them. I think something must have happened to them or their business in fall of 2022 because that seems to be the pattern in other reviews too. So, I had my fiance call either Darren or Damien and tell them that we are no longer using their services. Of course, I expected that I wasn’t going to get my $490 deposit back, even though they did literally nothing for me, hardly even emailing with me.
Here is the absolute kicker though - when my fiance made this call, Darren (or maybe it was Damien, who knows) said that the other guy would call my fiance back that day to discuss the possibility of getting my deposit back. The guy just simply never called! Lol! Again, I wasn’t expecting them to not be greedy and to return my deposit, but I feel like you should at least do the things you say you’re going to do! If that isn’t all the confirmation I need to know that I made the right decision to replace them. Anyway, I’d still like my $490 back.
