31 North Banquets

am I hate to say disappointed in the service that I had received on my wedding day. I knew it was my fault for not showing up for the ten day tasting for the food for that it is on me that the food was not good. Cr The orderves were probably the best part. The steak tasted like it was boiled had no seasoning and was absolutely disgusting. I had noticed that cake was partially being served because people had told me they did not receive any but Other people did.. The groom and I did not receive a piece. I went into the back area expressing my concern about the food and the fact that I was not served a piece of my own cake.. They're excuse was you cut your own slice why would we have to bring you one. I had expressed to them that I had cut the tiniest sliver of the cake because I didn't want to take away from the rest of my guest. And knew You Guys Were Gonna bring me another slice. After I had brought that up to them they did not bring out any more cake. The cake was then served at 9 o'clock with the pizza. Half my guest did not receive dinner and more than eighty five percent of my guests did not receive cake. I was told by multiple people That they did not receive more food once all the food was gone at their table but yet I came home with containers of food. The only good part about the service we received was the bar. The bartenders were absolutely amazing and they followed every instruction that was given to them.. I am disappointed because I had put 10700. Somethin dollars into this catering in hopes of you guys doing an amazing job because this is not the first time you've done it. I am requesting compensation for the discrepancies and the terrible service and the terrible food.

We were looking for a company to cater an entirely vegan dinner for our wedding. We reached out to 31 North, as we saw they had Vegan options. We held a tasting and chef Antonio did a fabulous job. It won us over and they catered our 72 person wedding. There was more than enough food for everyone, and the food was even better than it was on the tasting day!! The bartender we had was also experienced and professional. We are very happy with our experience with 31 North.

I got married Saturday August 20th, 2022 and we had our reception at 31 North Banquets and Catering. All the staff were extremely attentive and made sure everything went perfect for us that night. The ballroom was set up perfectly and everybody were telling us how amazing the food was from the appetizers to our dinner! We couldn't of picked a better banquet hall to hold our wedding reception and our day went without a hitch! Thank you to everybody at 31 North!!

We booked with 31 North for our wedding offsite. From the tasting in March, to the wedding date on July 30th 2022, food and service was great. Bernice was wonderful to work with, and extremely accommodating. They were slightly short staffed the day of my wedding, but they made it work and got everything done! I received SO many compliments on our food. Things like “I’ve never eaten an entire plate of food at a wedding, but I went back for seconds!” and “That mac and cheese was to die for.” Their prices are extremely reasonable for the service you get, and I will recommend them to everyone who asks. For those who want to know, our food choices were Chicken Marsala (cooked perfectly tender), Beef Stroganoff (the best thing on their menu in my opinion), Mashed Red Potatoes, Mac and Cheese, and Glazed Carrots.

We had a wonderful experience working with 31 North for our wedding at Ethereal Confections in Woodstock! Bernice was very responsive and accommodated the many changes we made to our menu over the year or so we worked with her. Our tasting was great and allowed us to try everything before we finalized our menu, which included switching one of our entrees after tasting their cranberry brie stuffed chicken which was my favorite thing I tasted (at the tasting and on our wedding day!). We’ve received many compliments from our guests on the food. The waitstaff was also wonderful and got all the food out quickly and efficiently. We had a plated dinner, so timing was very important. My only complaint is that we didn’t get the variety of desserts we wanted on the dessert table and had brownies, which we specifically said not to have on the dessert table as we did not like them at the tasting. The desserts were the most important thing to me, so I was a bit disappointed (but not disappointed enough to take a star away or anything). However, the cheesecake bites are one of the best desserts I’ve ever tried, and the chocolate covered strawberries were so delicious!

JUST DON'T. I lost $7,000 working with this company. We originally planned to have our wedding August 8th, 2020 to which we needed to postpone and eventually cancel because of the Covid-19 Pandemic. We had been working with 31 North for catering. We had paid in advance for services to be rendered in FULL. When we were forced to cancel they refused to refund any of our money. I'm not unreasonable. I know deposits exist for these types of reasons, and every other vendor we worked with was spectacular, but 31 North refused to meet us in the middle on any of it, remember we didn't lose a deposit, they are holding $7000 of our money for services that have yet to be rendered. They said we could use their services at a later date, but I'm sorry I just won't have the ability to use $7K worth of catering until my own kids get married, and then I'll be sure they are not the ones catering. I'd take legal action if I knew a good lawyer.

We opted for their off site catering package and it was phenomenal! They catered and bartended for us this past weekend (July 3rd) and everything was perfect. I still have guests reaching out to me telling me how good the food was and how attentive the staff was. The bar tenders knew each guest and what they were drinking and could have it ready for them by the time they reached the bar! And the servers and captain were so well at communicating! They truly made it my special day.

We went to 31 North for our wedding reception. From the minute we starting meeting everyone they were wonderful! Bernice and Tony made planning our wedding so easy! They were awesome to work with, went along with anything we wanted to change or customize. The big day turned out absolutely beautiful. The layout was perfect and it looked so great. The food was amazing!! So many of our guests agreed and wanted more than 1 plate because it was that delicious! We had breakfast there a few times previously and every time Tony went above and beyond for all our needs. He even stayed for our reception and did such an amazing job along with the staff! Thank you all for making our day so beautiful and perfect!! I highly recommend using 31 North Banquets and Catering for anything but especially your wedding reception!!

Beautiful, modern venue with delicious food and friendly, detail orientated event coordinators.

I had planned my sons wedding reception for 8 months with them. During the planning process they were wonderful. 9 days prior to the event the owner Bernice called to chastise me as to where my final payment was. She indicated that her staff had been trying to call me and I wasn't responding to messages. Which was completely untrue as I had received one Email from Bridgette and I responded promptly making arrangements when I would be in. The message I received from the owner was so rude and unprofessional I couldn't believe what I was hearing. I called the owner who then started to apologize, saying she had had a bad morning and she should had not left that message and so on. The cafe is very stressful she said. Let's talk about the day of event. We had been told we my daughter in law could use the bridal room to get ready. We said we would be there at 3:00. We didn't come until 3:30. When we walked in I truly think my daughter in law was going to faint. They were still partially set up as the cafe. The chairs had not been covered or sashed tables had not been set up. It was crazy. So much so that I set up the entire head table decor, the sign in table and ended up working some on the guest table decor. I did this until 5:00. Which I then had to dress. For the amount of money I paid for this it was supposed to all be done by them. It would had never been ready in time if I hadn't. My son and daughter in laws name was supposed to be on the marquee never done. Dinner was supposed to be served at 7:00. Well the soup and salad was. But the actual main course was not served until 8:20. Ridiculous. Their staff did not clean away salad plates or soup dishes. They just say on the tables. I had to ask for this To get done. One of my friends at her table did it herself it was such a mess. On a side note my son wasn't even served his salad or soup, he had to ask. The cake was not brought out til about 9:10 and then It was not served to the guests they had to go take it off of trays. The sashes on The chairs were not tied properly. As soon as you sat down it came undone on most chairs. My 85 year old Aunt fell because of the a sash that was laying on the floor. They were all the place. There was a room off the main room that was supposed to be set up for cocktail hour and then later for little ones to color etc. it was never setup for either. Two bare 8 ft tables and one unorganized table with brochures for 31 North in it. The little ones goody bags were not set out for them. We had nine people who were unable to attend the reception and had been told those that did not show we would get the meals wrapped to go home. At the end of the night I asked Bridgett for them and I was told there were none left. I know who didn't come and now we do not get the food we paid for. Unbelievable The bridal room for my daughter in law was used as a storage room for the decorations. She had not much room to get ready. The icing on the cake is the bridal room was supposed to be secured. My daughter in law left her wallet in the room. At the end of the night the $300.00 she had in her wallet had been taken. By who we do not know. Overall it truly was sub par. The owner Bernice had relayed that there is nothing she can do about everything that happened. So please folks beware you will deal with a owner that doesn't care when there are problems and you may get an experience that will not be near what you expected.

Kathleen and Brandi both were fantastic coordinators. The food was amazing and everyone raved about it (which isn't normal for a wedding :) ) They knew exactly what they were doing. They were always two steps ahead of me.

Was absolutely perfect. All thanks to 31 north. Not only did my reception turn out great she recommend me to a great florist. The food was out standing. I come from a very Italian Family if the food isn't good then they are not happy. I have not heard of one complaint and its been over a year. The whole staff is just so wonderful at 31 north I was very impressed and did not have to worry about one thing the day of my wedding. I had just amazing and perfect wedding and reception. My husband and I paid for the wedding our self and 31 north was great with prices.

This venue is the best. They were all very helpful and understandable since we were living out of state and they had to deal mainly with my mom. They accommodated to everything we asked. I wouldn't have asked for a better venue.

I have received nothing but compliments on the location (recently remodeled and very contemporary!) and the food and service. Highly recommend.

The food was delicious, very warm and moist. best food I have ever had at a wedding.

From the moment I walked in to 31 North I knew there was something special about it. It has a modern, chic style that is just lovely. The best part about the actual building.....there is only one room for one wedding at a time! Talk about personalized service! Who wouldn't want to have their wedding somewhere where the focus was only on your wedding and not 6-10 others as well? You're only a bride once, why not be treated that way! Bernice, the owner, was nothing but sweet and helpful throughout the whole process. She was there willing to help with anything I needed, from photographers & flowers to helping with seating and what would work best. Brittany, the coordinator assigned to my wedding was also there for anything I needed. It was like having 2 wedding planners. I never expected to get that at a reception hall. The venue has the main room for the guests with the bar being built in a way that the bartender and guests can actually hear each other over the music! There is a separate room you can have set up as you choose, for tables for children if they get tired, for guests who don't like music to go and talk, or as we used it for a photographer to set up his backdrop for guest photos (you could even put a photobooth in there!). The bridal suite is beautiful and comes with some very yummy goodies and a nice separate bathroom to freshen up in without getting smushed in because of your dress. The food was AMAZING! I knew this from our tasting but it was reinforced after the wedding. We have only been married 3 weeks today, but I can't tell you how many people commented on how wonderful the food was. (And my husband and I both have some people who are quite picky in that area, us being included!) It is prepared fresh for one wedding, not put in warming trays because mass quantities are being prepared. My most memorable comment came from one of my good friend's husband who travels a lot and likes things very classy. He said that he was very impressed with our whole wedding ceremony and reception. He commented on the food (of course) and then proceeded to tell me how great the venue was, from the service and ambiance to the layout of the building. He said he never comments on that "stuff" because they are all the same but said he had to say something because he honestly loved everything about it. I would highly recommend 31 North for your wedding or any other event for that matter. If you are looking for a typical, get as much money as we can in one night and unpersonalized venue then go elsewhere. However, if you want a wedding day that feels like your special day and only your special day, with all focus on your wedding and guests then make sure you go to 31 North! You won't be disappointed!!

From the first planning meeting with Bernice and Ed to our final farewell as our Civil Union Reception closed down - we were totally pleased and proud of every aspect at 31 North Banquets. We had 111 guests, the room was stunning - black chair covers with black table cloths and a white runner down the middle; accented with white dinner napkins and our guests favor boxes of black and white candy-coated almonds and chocolates. Centerpieces were rising glass tubes filled with cala lilies with floating votive candles and small votives lit around the glass-mirrored circular trays. Guests were hand served appetizers of individual jumbo shrimp, mini quiches, fresh fruit kabobs and yummy water chestnuts wrapped in bacon. Bar was open with top shelf liquor for five hours (included in our package). Dinner was plated and served in grand style and our guests raved about the food - pan seared breast of chicken topped with rich wild mushroom sauce and grilled filet mignon as well. Dinner began though with a delicious hearty country vegetable soup as well as Bernice's signature salad dressed with raspberry vinagrette. Rosemary roasted potatoes and asparagus spears topped off a very tasty and satisfying meal. Tim and I were always treated so honorably by Bernice and Ed as well as every worker throughout the evening. The DJ was very impressed with the site as well as our Photobooth owners. Lighting is perfect; with adjustment settings that accomodate your entire evening - creating that ambiance everyone loves. All the planning, all the times we so enjoyed coming into 31 North with more of our questions, idea swopping, just sometimes to stop by because we loved talking to them - all those times leading up to our big event - and then it's OVER! We found ourselves wanting to do it all over again and relive it. We still find ourselves just stopping in to see both Bernice and Ed. The quality of service they are dedicated to provide each reservation at their beautiful facility is beyond excellent! I had sung at a couple events there before booking with them. I had tasted the wonderful food during some luncheon events. We knew, in advance, that everyone who had gone there for numerous occasions had gone away totally pleased. They are great for any event: from a small reception following a funeral, a birthday party, anniversary party, wedding,class reunions, business meetings - you name it - they can meet your needs and they can also assure you will be pleased beyond your own expectations. Wow, I've even sold myself with this review and am now trying to think of some occasion coming soon that we can get back to 31 North Banquets! Here's our wish for you as you contemplate what venue to use......lay your trust in Bernice and Ed and relax ... it's going to turn out marvelous!
