We got married at 5 Palms on Feb 26, 2020 with 46 guests! We planned our destination wedding from Canada- overwhelming to begin with but that was soon brought to ease thanks to Bobbilyn and her team! Our day was AMAZING! The amount of questions, changes and emails I sent to Bobbilyn was...alot! But she always made time, was quick to respond, and brought our vision to life. The staff the day of the wedding were AWESOME! Our guests absolutely loved the cocktail hour on the lawn, the food was incredible, and they made the night so easy! No worrying for this bide and that's all I could ask for! Highly recommend this venue!
Amazing food. Beautiful venue. Staff was so helpful and attentive. Absolutely made our wedding day effortless and amazing. Thank you!!
Made our destination wedding so easy! Delicious food that our guests are still talking about and the most attentive staff! Helped make our day absolutely wonderful!
Bobilyn and her team at 5Palms went above and beyond for my bride and I. We had such a special day and we treated like royalty!
thank you!!
There was some issues with parking and we got bounced from the Resort to the Restaurant and back again. If you go with this vendor be sure you clarify exactly who is going to be parking and if they insist they have a Valet parking service call that morning to confirm so that your guests don't have to park and re-park during the event.
Lovely spot with great food and once we were in the hands of 5 Palms everything went off perfectly!
Hi, I just got married this previous year at Five Palms restaurant and facility. The ease of planning combined with the professional help of Kathryn and her banquet staff are beyond words. I am not really a bride that is into all the details, no trinkets, no bells and whistles, my only concern was good food and good times with friends and family. Five Palms was always easily reached by email since I am in Seattle, and answered every question as well as provided references and information needed for everything. It was a no muss no fuss process and nothing was stressful.
The banquet staff that day was so attentive and almost like family, what our goal was for the event.
If you are looking for the best view (sunset, beach and good food) at a reasonable price without all the muss and fuss please contact Five Palms.
I wish I was still there!
We were supposed to have my wedding on the beach in front of the Mana Kai Resort...of course it had to downpour and the rain wouldn't quit. The restaurant manager was so kind to allow us to hold our quick ceremony on the covered patio of the restaurant at no charge, when I was told that they usually charge ~$800. I think they felt really bad for us! :(
Overall, we were very impressed with this venue. The food was delicious, and the service was amazing. Everything turned out exactly as we hoped and all of our photos are gorgeous with the beach in the background. Couple criticisms...#1 we had a ton of people watching our wedding from our balconies....we expected it, so we weren't bothered, but if you are looking for something private, this place is not it. #2 Kathryn was great in helping us plan everything, but we did find her responses quite slow on some occasions and we found ourselves emailing her 3 or 4 times with the same question without getting a response. This wasn't a problem mostly, until the last 2 weeks before we left for Maui when we had limited time to get things done. #3 it was slightly expensive...we didn't expect it to end up being as expensive as it was, but that was partly our fault for having more guests than we orignally intended...but even still, the liquor was quite expensive. Overall, I'd highly recommend this place as a wedding venue.
We had a wedding party dinner here prior to the wedding. Approx 30 people. They were very nice to work around our guests and let us sit in the main dinning room even though it was during their happy hour! I would definitely recommend them!
I had a small destination wedding in Maui. We were married on a beach and had a reception brunch at the five palms shortly after. The food was amazing, the view was spectacular and our waitress was spot on. My only complaint was that they charged my parents twice for the total bill!!! This was noticed once they had flown back to the mainland and it took about a week to fix?!?! Yikes! Other than that I would have given 5 stars!
Having our wedding and reception at the Five Palms was almost perfect. We had our wedding on the beach in front of the restaurant (gorgeous!), then a mai tai reception on the lawn (with DJ music), then dinner and dancing inside with 35 guests. The only complaints I have are that the catering manager did not stay through dinner, then dinner service was incredibly slow (but servers were really nice) and then they ran out of the wine that we confirmed twice would be available. Otherwise was the perfect wedding with beautiful location and great food for a good value.
We actually had the wedding on the lawn behind the restaurant. Great deal: have your reception at the restaurant, and the location for the ceremony is free! Between, the view, the amazing food, and the friendly service, the whole thing was amazing.
We really enjoyed working with Kathryn at the Five Palms. We planned our wedding for 70 guests site unseen and were not disappointed!
Kathryn was calm and helpful every step of the way. The only downside was that she did not stay for our entire event because she works days. I wish she had! There were problems that came up as the night progressed and I wish she had been there.
The plan was to have the ceremony on the lawn, which is a perfect, gorgeous location. We got rained out... so we had to move the ceremony inside at the last minute. The squished us all in and everyone had a seat. Not what I had planned, but it was alright. The background was still great. They have huge open windows to the beach. After the ceremony, we were able to move outside and they were flexible enough to switch plans again and bring our pupus and drinks outside, since it had cleared up.
Orders were taken while my husband and I were taking pictures. Salads and dinner was served promptly. The food was good and hot! The service was also very good. They roamed the room offering wine. However the drink situation was our only issue with Five Palms. We had planned to offer beer, wine and Mai Tais all night, yet most guests were only offered wine. No one knew they could have anything else. Many people ended up going to the bar area and buying their own beers, which should never have happened! Once I spoke with the person in charge, she said she would make sure beers went on our tab, yet the bartender continued to charge people for their beers. It was very frustrating! Not one person enjoyed a Mai Tai after the cocktail hour, yet we had made a special deal so they would be our drink of the night. Servers continued to serve wine all night, which was fine, but they never offered anything else. No one was offered coffee with cake or anything. Apparently if people asked, they got the beverage they wanted, but were only offered wine. : ( Had Kathryn been there, we would have cleared things up right away. We had never met the manager that night, so didn't really know who to talk to in the moment.
Anyway... the food was good and they prepared nice menus specially for us. The tables and linens looked great too. They cut our cake and I believe every piece was served with an orchid that they placed on top.
We had a DJ who played all night- until 10, the Maui curfew. The dance floor was big enough for us- 70 guests. But know that you cannot drink on the dance floor.
They were very clear with us about prices ahead of time, so thankfully there were no surprises. Once we were about $100 under our minimum the manager told us and asked what we wanted to do. We only ended up going about $100 over our target.
Oh, another thing to consider is that their wine prices are quite high! There is not much you can do about it because they are a full service restaurant, so you cannot bring anything in, other than your cake.
We heard great things about our pupus and Mai Tais, which we didn't have a chance to enjoy much, but they looked great! Another comment about the food was that we were able to offer three choices and people could order that night- with 70 people that's pretty good! They let me get whatever I wanted, so I got a plate with a mix of the three choices (I'm sort of a picky eater! : ))
Overall, it was a great place to get married and have our reception! Everyone was in one location all night. I recommend this to anyone with a party from 50-100 +/-
Five Palms was a great venue for our reception! The wait staff was wonderful and we really enjoyed the attention they gave us and our guests. They really took great care of us and did a wonderful job! The restaurant has some of the best food on the island that we have had (we have been to Maui several times and been all over the island). We actually ended up eating there another time on this trip. Our friends also went back again because the food was that great! Kathryn, their Wedding Coordinator, helped take care of the special requests we had and did a great job. They set up all of our wedding favors and tables exactly like we requested and they were very accommodating with our favors since they had Hershey kisses in them and we did not want them to melt so they kept them in the freezer for us. The menu options are really accommodating to a wide array of guests, as was the wine list. We had a lot of rain on our wedding day so we were unable to sit on the patio and we were moved inside. In this location there is not a bad spot to sit and with the big open windows and layout it didn't matter where we sat, we still had great views of the sunset (after it stopped raining) and the ocean.
We went here for my bachelorette party for Happy Hour, they served great food and drinks. The restaurant was also very accommodating as I intruded on there other male customers to preform embarrassing tasks. I the environment was not too lively, but we were the party everywhere we went.
was closed for repair.. maybe next time............................................
It was located on the beach and the staff were the most amazing and nice people I have ever met.
