We are one of NYC's top bands who has been together for over a decade and are thrilled to offer our band to the PA, NJ and now available in South Florida !! actly how to read a crowd, draw people onto the dance floor and keep them there. At our wedding in July, our guests were on the dance floor ALL NIGHT. Deena and her band are also incredibly versatile, which is displayed by the fact that they could be such a huge hit at a wedding with mostly older people AND a wedding with mostly younger people. They went above and beyond to make our wedding night incredible. In 2013, Deena learned that I was a huge Taylor Swift fan and because of that, she learned my favorite Taylor Swift song to play at my dad's wedding (it's not one of her hits, so this was a big deal!). Fast forward to our wedding - she relearned this song and made sure I was out on the dance floor when they played it at the end of the night. It was the most special moment. They also performed THREE encore songs after non-stop cheers and begging from the crowd. I cannot recommend them more highly. Our wedding night was incredible and they are a huge reason why!

mances coming up for us to see you live?” OR “What’s your backup plan for any malfunctioning equipment? Do you bring spares?” OR “Do you book one wedding per day? Would you/will you have another wedding prior to ours?”
Nearly every response was unexpectedly off-putting and rude. Answers to the above were, “We do not play clubs, not have we needed to “Showcase” in over a decade … recommended by many venues and do not “audition” OR “In 20+ years we have not had an issue with equipment. The VENUE is another story & we can’t control that. We do not bring 2 of everything.” OR my personal favorite, “1 wedding daily (we are not a factory)” – who responds like this with good intentions??? These were just some of the highlights, too bad there aren’t enough characters to share the whole list.
I reside at a major record label and have been in the music industry for over 5 years now, and I've never had such an encounter before. Her replies made us feel STUPID, as if we asked questions that were invasive and insulting her line of work.
Every bride should feel like she’s getting an intimate experience with a vendor, one that feels like she’s “the only one” you’re working with. You would think we were booking the opener for Beyoncé & Jay-Z.

Oh my Goodness our very first negative review and we never even worked together. Still, I am saddened that you got such a yucky first impression.
I really wish we had spoken on the phone instead of corresponding via e-mail, especially since you had so many questions. I would have liked to have explained verbally. Things tend to get lost in translation.
I truly do not know what I said to offend you so much in my response to your questions.
I tried to answers them in a brief and concise way .

ANSWER: That is relative . If you seat the elderly far from dance floor you should have no problem . If you think we are too loud there is a volume knob- just ask and we will take care of it.

**Note- I thought it would please you to know that I only focus on 1 wedding at a time - there are so many wedding factories out there / bands & venues that try to cram as many event into their schedules just to make $$
“WEDDING FACTORY” is just a term used in our industry .

ANSWER: We get a replacement that you approve of.

ANSWER: In 20+ years we have not had an issue with our equipment . The sound company is equip with many speakers so if one malfunctions we can use a monitor in its place. The VENUE is another story & we can’t control that . In other words, We do not bring 2 of everything, ( spares) if that makes sense.
We don’t bring spares - ( you said “spares” ) our sound company uses many speakers - house and monitors and just like an airplane if an engine goes we can still fly - does that make sense ??

ANSWER: Yours will be the very first “CROWD” of completely shy people ...If that happens, we can’t make someone dance . We always mix up songs to make sure everyone dances, but if we are required to stick to super strict playlist with no leeway, the likelihood of helping these people dance is slim . Not everyone who attends a party are dancers and does not mean that they didn’t have fun enjoying the music .

et enough of Deena, what a voice and personally! She and the band were so nice, too, always smiling making the room sparkle - it's obvious that they all love working together and they love what they do! Not your typical wedding band at all - high energy, current, and way better than any other wedding band I've ever seen. They are not only extremely talented, but extremely professional - my niece didn't have to worry about a thing because DMP took care of everything! at our wedding. After our first dance, the band transitioned to an upbeat "Ain't No Mountain High Enough" and invited everyone out to the dance floor. I honestly think all 200 people made it out there to dance with us because of the band's energy. One of my guests said, "I have never in my entire life seen that many people have that much fun THAT quickly at a wedding!" And it only got better as the night went on. Countless guests from both sides have since commented on the band and how impressed they were with their ability to incorporate so many different genres throughout the night. ur location. The music was phenomenal, everyone asked who they were and the entire wedding had a wonderful time. Fast forward to this past weekend, my second daughter got married and again picked Deena and her band. Most people commented that it was the best wedding ever. Deena and her band kept everyone on the dance floor almost the whole night, with the exception for the dinner part!! Again, wonderful selection of music, wonderful singers, great musicians. They were totally open to my husband and other son playing the "couple's first dance". Deena and her band helped them with the sound and the drummer even helped out with background drums.
Deena figured out really fast that our group loved to dance and the band did not disappoint. They played hard the whole evening. Their emceeing was superb and they made us feel like they were really there just for us! they play almost exclusively fast songs to keep the energy up and they were more than happy to oblige. We were pleasantly surprised that they also were able to perform our entrance and first dance song which was not on their song list. They also always had someone playing, even when most of the band took breaks, so no DJ songs at all, which I thought was a huge bonus as well. One break they had the guitarist play and the other they had the keyboardist stay. They were also great sports when they had started to break down and realized we were doing a sparkler send off they quickly reassembled what they could to give us a musical send off with our first dance song, which we really appreciated. We received countless complements on the band from our guests. Deena is an extremely positive and upbeat personality as well, which also made the band great to deal with. W my expectations away! We had them play for the ceremony and cocktail hour, and I had several people (including a jazz musician) tell me how much they loved the music and wish it didn't stop! And for the reception, not only did they learn the custom songs I requested, but Deena played several Tom Petty songs because she knew our families loved Tom Petty. Deena & company brought such an energy that our dance floor was packed the entire time, and we decided that night to extend the reception because people were having so much fun. The band interacted with the guests on the dance floor, and customized the songs based on how the crowd was reacting. I actually had several family members reach out after the wedding and ask for thier contact info because they thought it was the best band they had seen. Deena Miller and her crew (7pc in all) played at our wedding and they truly brought down the house! Their music was vibrant, tasteful and delightful.
After finding Deena here, we looked at her website - namely her YouTube highlight reel and ...
song list, and it was clear that she and her musicians had a passion for what they did (admittedly, I also really liked that they listed prices on the website for the various band tiers).
Once we got the ball rolling, Deena (and her VP of operations Mario) sent us their personal contact information and we stayed in touch about song choices, themes and the like. We were able to request special songs that weren't on her list too, which added a great personal touch to the reception. We always felt well-connected to them as we planned our big day.
On the day of, we were a little scared because Deena had a severe medical emergency come up which required her to go to the ER hours before the ceremony. However, she had a replacement lined up and ready to go - but after many stitches and two hospital visits she was able to come with time to spare AND still be lead singer (with a smile too!). What an amazing woman!
Before the reception, she checked with us to make sure everything was set up okay (which it was) and that she had the pronunciation correct for members of the bridal party as they were announced and were giving speeches. I really liked her attention to details - and it showed.
During the reception, her team got our guests on the dance floor with well-timed, fun and ardently performed music spanning classic hits, modern dance music and everything in between. Nothing felt out of place - and Deena did a great job MCing the evening (announcing transitions to cake cutting, food arriving, etc.) and having the music change accordingly during these transitions was great too. I also really liked that later on in the evening she moved to the dance floor as she sang, which I feel really enhanced the guest's connection to the music. Everything was very well polished and certainly professional too.
After the ceremony, guests came up to me and told me how awesome they thought the band was - and I share their view - going with Deena was one of the best choices we made for our reception, and I could not recommend them more highly. Give them a look!

In March 2014, during the coldest PA winter on record, Deena and Mario drove a distance to meet me at our reception venue to review the location, meet the staff and discuss sound options.
Fast Forward to September/October 2014, about two-three weeks before our wedding, Deena spent time with me via phone and email to make sure everything about our wedding reception was just perfect. We reviewed the timeline, song lists, she practiced over and over name pronunciations and to my surprise she even worked with my father to modify Joe Cocker's "You Are So Beautiful" to the version he sang to me as an infant.
Now the most important part, our wedding day-10/10/14! I am writing this review almost three weeks after our wedding. Our guests are still talking about our fantastic band. Everyone left our wedding smiling because they had so much fun! I've lost count of how many guests, other vendors, etc. have asked WHERE DID YOU GET THAT BAND? As I write this review, my eyes are filled with happy tears because our wedding was a day I will never forget. The dance floor was packed all evening! They moved without pause from one song to another. The whole evening the music was geared toward the people dancing. They started out with more Motown type music and by the end of the evening it was more contemporary music. The dance floor was rocking! They also provided the cocktail hour music which was just wonderful, perfect for the mood and not loud-as there was no problem for people to converse. The whole evening flowed perfectly between them and the caterers, everything timed out perfectly from the bride/groom dance to the father daughter dance and the quieter music during the time for eating dinner. The quality of the musicians and the sound-excellent. I cannot think of anything to criticize They were excellent. Everyone I have spoken with from the wedding has commented on how good the band was. The coctail hour was exactly what I had hoped for, even better. Jazz, not 'audio wallpaper'. At times I thought a trio was playing, as your excellent pianist was comping a formidable bass line while the right hand stretched out chords that would take me a week to analyze. I knew that the drummer was the real deal right from the start when he played the triplets on the wedding party entrance song, the Dropkick Murphy's "Shipping Up to Boston". The guitar and bassist added so much energy to everything - all of the lead and bass lines were over the top great. Oh, and then the sax player let loose incredible melodies/improvs. Please thank them for this! The harmonies were great! Earth, Wind and Fire - fantastic. The singers, including yourself, were incredible, especially the guy! He had the whole package; range, diversity in music style (rap, classic, etc.). And a nicer group of people you wouldn't find anywhere!! Thanks also for letting me perform with my old bandmates. I really appreciated that your bass player let Don play his bass. It looked like a custom 5 string instrument that was probably worth 10 thousand or more dollars, so I understand his concerns about someone else playing his 'baby'. We're still in afterglow mode. I could go on. .. . The song selections were the perfect mix for the audience. My cousin was asking me to request 'Blurred Lines' and right after she said it your band played it! My voice is gone.

Deena and her band brought was incredible. They performed songs from every generation that had our family and friends all dancing and shouting together! There was non-stop music from the moment we began the cocktail hour to the last minute of our reception and our guests are raving about how amazing our band was. I suggest sticking with the live performances rather than having them play a track because the quality is just so much better and worth it! (we suggested playing the original track for our first dance but it was hard to hear.) Also be sure to be thorough with any direction and ideas for your party beforehand.
