50/Fifty

I got married in August 2023, and I am so happy that I worked with Mandy and 50/Fifty for our desserts! Not only did Mandy make the best treats (seriously, we got so many compliments from our guests about how yummy the desserts were), but she was able to accommodate my gluten allergy and make everything gluten-free and taste absolutely delicious! 50/Fifty also has so many delicious options to choose from, and even goes above and beyond to make your dessert table look fantastic. I really appreciate how Mandy brought her own dessert labels so I didn’t have to make them myself! Overall, I had the best experience working with Mandy and her team, and I truly can’t recommend Mandy and 50/Fifty enough if you’re looking for an absolutely incredible bakery in the Asheville, NC area!

Mandy was at the top of my photographer's and caterer's list for wedding cakes and we are so glad she was available! First off, her tasting portions are very generous. We ended up taking some of ours home to Raleigh and had members of our wedding party help us decide on flavors. Second, her cakes are just delicious. My husband chose chocolate cake with a peanut butter mousse and raspberry compote filling, frosted with chocolate buttercream for his groom's cake. For our wedding cake, we had three tiers covered in cream cheese frosting. The top was lavender cake with lemon curd filling, the second, champagne cake with blackberry compote, and the bottom, almond cream cake with chocolate ganache and raspberry compote filling. Guests raved about both cakes! Pro Tip: Order a slightly larger size than you need if you aren't going straight to your honeymoon. One of our favorite memories from the weekend was having friends over to our airbnb the next night to help us finish our leftover cake and booze.

We loved our wedding cake and thought it both looked amazing and tasted great! We even were able to do custom flavors like elderflower icing! We would absolutely recommend 50/fifty to other wedding couples!

We hired 50/Fifty in Asheville to provide the wedding cake and dessert bar for our daughter's wedding. It was perfect. Everything was not only delicious but beautifully displayed. Mandy was very responsive to everything we requested. I would highly recommend 50/Fifty.

We ordered a one-tier dairy-free and gluten-free cake for our wedding. It was absolutely delicious! Mandy was easy to work with and accommodating to our dietary restrictions. I would highly recommend 50/Fifty for your cake & dessert needs! :)

They made us a beautiful 4 tier cake for our wedding! We went with almond cream cake and lemon curd for half the layers, and chocolate cake and raspberry compote for the other half - all with white vanilla buttercream frosting. Super yummy and beautifully decorated. Highly recommend!

Our wedding cake from 50/fifty was not only beautiful but tasted amazing. Since we were planning from out of town we did not do a tasting before hand but I felt so comfortable with the guidance we had from Mandy to make the right but choices. We added some additional desserts and a special request from my husband of key lime tarts which were delicious. They were even able to accommodate a vegan option for a few guests that have dairy allergies! Thank you so much Mandy!!

We hired Mandy & 50Fifty for our wedding this past weekend in Asheville, NC – we worked with Mandy for our cake and cupcakes and even had a chance to do an at-home tasting which was such a fun experience. Mandy provided almost every flavor in little to go cups and flavors of cake for us to play around with! My fiance is a HUGE dessert person and is very particular about what he considers to be good dessert (lol) - he had a blast creating the combinations we loved and Mandy translated everything we were looking for into a three tiered cake and cupcakes. She also used live flowers from our florist to adorn our cake and hit the nail on the head from our inspiration image. Mandy’s cake was moist and decadent and her fillings were flavorful and refined. Don’t even get me started on the buttercream icing which was TO DIE FOR and had the perfect balance of sweet without being too overpowering like some bakers make it. It was smooth and delicious. We could not have been happier with our choice and would recommend 50fifty to anyone in the area looking to cap off their evening meal with something sweet and delectable!! Mandy and 50/Fifty created the most delicious desserts for our wedding! Our tasting session to decide on desserts was a highlight of the wedding planning process (honestly, Mandy brought to-go containers treats we didn't finish, but they were so good we finished them all). 50/Fifty offered many options to choose from, and we and our guests loved each selection. Many was great to work with, and we heartily recommend her!

50/Fifty made our wedding dessert table dreams come true! At our tasting, we had the chance to try SO many delicious desserts and make our choices from there. It was amazing how flexible and understanding she was as we make decisions (especially after having to postpone our wedding day). The dessert table and our wedding cake were both AMAZING! We got so many compliments about how good both were. Hire 50/Fifty - you won't regret it!

We're so happy we went with 50/Fifty for our wedding cake! From the start, Mandy was incredible to work with - made the whole process so easy and was so friendly and responsive. She has amazing options on her menu and we loved getting to sample them at our tasting. We ended up going with a 3-tier cake with 3 different flavors - champagne cake with strawberry compote filling, lavender cake with blackberry compote filling and strawberry cake with lemon curd filling. We also got to keep the top tier to keep in the freezer and save for our one year anniversary - complimentary! We definitely recommend going with Mandy for your cake :) you will not be disappointed!

Mandy outdid herself!! We asked for a vegan cake (almond cake with strawberry/cream cheese filling and lavender cake with lemon curd filling) and some mini-desserts (way more than is recommended for our guest count haha), and it was all GONE at the end!! She even made a box of mini desserts for us for my brother's proposal weekend. Everything was incredibly affordable and so delicious. I recommend them for all desserts, but ESPECIALLY if you are looking for vegan options.

Mandy is an absolute delight and a really talented baker. All three of the mini desserts (banana pudding cups, strawberry and rhubarb tarts, and lemon curd tarts with blueberries) were incredible and some of the best desserts we've ever had. In addition to the mini desserts, we ordered a two-tier cake: layer one was a rich chocolate cake with chocolate ganache and strawberry buttercream, and layer two was an almond cake with chocolate ganache and German chocolate frosting. Both were fantastic and we were thrilled to discover leftovers in the fridge the morning after our wedding (nothing, I mean nothing, cures a hangover quite as well as leftover wedding cake!). In addition to the awesome desserts, Mandy also set up a gorgeous dessert table that took our breath away. If you're looking for great desserts at your wedding, you've definitely got to stop by 50/Fifty and meet Mandy!

50/Fifty came highly recommended by our wedding planner and venue and we are so happy and thankful that we trusted them to lead us in the right direction when it came to dessert! Mandy was very responsive to our emails and questions about flavor combinations. 50/Fifty also makes gluten free cake, a huge plus for us to make sure that the FOB could enjoy cake! We weren't originally planning to have cake at our June 2020 wedding, but Covid messed up our alternative dessert plans. Mandy was very responsive and set up a tasting with very little notice. The tasting was so awesome that we went from 0 cakes to 3 cakes plus some baked goods! She was even able to create our dog, Cooper, for the grooms' rehearsal dinner cake! 10/10 would recommend

Mandy was excellent to work with! Planning a wedding for 250 people and then minimizing it to immediate family due to planning during covid was a crazy experience that was made so much better by all of our amazing vendors. Mandy was easy to work with, flexible with all of the changes, and delivered a beautiful cake that was exactly as I visioned with beautiful accompanying mini dessert bar!

Delicious! They did wonderful work. We got to try so many combinations of cakes and frostings/fillings that it might have taken longer to decide on the flavors than to actually sampling them. We only had a small 2-tier cake as we had other desserts for our guests that it didn’t them long to set the cake up and put the design we wanted on the top tier during the day of set up. Definitely thinking of going back to them for an anniversary cake at some point.

Mandy is the absolute best!! When we initially connected, Mandy was so helpful - as we were so up in the air as to what we wanted to offer for desserts! (We knew we wanted to do something other than cake alone!) Mandy gave great insight and advice for us to choose from. When it came time to do the tasting - we wanted ALL of the options! Mandy is extremely talented and has a true gift!! Mandy has really nailed the tasting consultation, and is able to customize to you and your day! Our guests could not stop raving about how beautiful the dessert table and cake looked, and more importantly - how DELICIOUS everything tasted! Mandy, there are not enough words to thank you for everything you did for us to make our big day so perfect!!

Mandy is an absolute pleasure to work with and her desserts are so tasty and very reasonably priced! 50fifty provided a stunning dessert table for our wedding and we were so appreciative of the variety in the offerings. We had a tiered wedding cake, chocolate mousse cups. tarts, cupcakes, lemon bars, and more. We even had gluten free and vegan options to accommodate the dietary restrictions of our guests. Our guests were raving about how yummy everything was! Mandy's desserts are also aesthetically beautiful and the way she showcased them at our wedding, on gorgeous platters with handwritten labels, was very artistic. Our friend who loves to bake, brought some homemade cupcakes that Mandy incorporated into our dessert table and brought her own displays and signs for. Thank you Mandy for filling the tummies our guests with scrumptious dessert and be an absolute joy to work with!

We had a two tier vegan cake. One layer was lemon cake with a raspberry compote and lemon butter cream. The other layer was hazelnut cake with a Nutella cream cheese. We also had chocolate chip cookies, white chocolate macadamia nut cookies, and peanut butter cookies. Everything was AMAZING! She was so easy to work with as well.

Mandy and her crew are absolutely amazing. They made the most beautiful and delicious cake for our wedding. Our guests were thoroughly impressed. Mandy was also wonderful to work with in the planning process. She is completely down to earth, and she gave us exactly what we wanted. We would choose her again in a heartbeat. I highly recommend.

We went with a selection of mini desserts and a small cake - the cake was not only delicious but also beautiful, and we loved being able to offer variety with the mini desserts. We loved working with Mandy from 50/Fifty. Our tasting was so fun and she had so many options to try! We paid the small fee for set up so we did not have to think or worry about anything on our big day. By the time we had our cake cutting almost all of the desserts from the dessert bar were already gone! I think everyone really loved the smaller options because they could try a few. I think if we were to do it all over we would probably order more desserts because they were gone fast!

Mandy did an amazing job with our wedding cake and desserts! The cake was both delicious and beautiful. She has so many flavor options that you can get anything you could imagine for your cake. Mine had 3 flavors (chocolate cake with chocolate ganache, vanilla cake with raspberry compote and raspberry buttercream, and red velvet) and they all tasted amazing. She made gluten free and vegan cupcakes for guests with dietary restrictions and those guests were very thankful for that. Mandy was great to work with and I'd recommend her to anyone looking for a baker.

Mandy does absolutely beautiful work and her cakes taste amazing. She created a three tier cake with each tier being a different flavor. My family and guests loved it all. (I really enjoyed the cake tasting too, so much fun) Mandy was wonderful to work with and I look forward to our anniversary cake for our first year of marriage.

Mandy is so wonderful to work with! From tasting to wedding day delivery and set up, she was so kind, professional, and accommodating. Everything she made was DELICIOUS! All our guests were raving about the cake and cupcakes. We have some family members with very severe food allergies, and she made sure that everything she made was safe for them to eat. The Wedding Cake was incredible. Quality ingredients, stunningly simple, elegant and was surprised to find this quality. I am a baker and am particular to pure quality ingredients. It not only upheld those factors but also the elegant factor. Well done! We were proud of our Daughters Wedding Cake display along with the variety of delicious cupcakes.

50/Fifty created an amazing spread of vegan mini cupcakes for our wedding. We were blown away at the options offered to us, and we even had a custom Butterbeer flavor that they made at our request! Our guests were raving about the cupcakes all night! Thank you so much…we would recommend your services to anybody!

Our desserts were DELICIOUS! we did a small cake top with cupcakes and macaroons for our wedding and they were a hit. We left with just a few cupcakes and no macaroons at the end of the night because they were so good. The owner was very quick in her responses and was so easy to deal with! She offered a cake tasting to make sure we liked the options that we picked out as well!

Fifty/50 the Art of Dessert provided our personal wedding cake as well as over 150 cupcakes for our wedding day. Upon meeting, Mandy was so flexible and willing to fit us in and bring us as many flavors and combinations to try as possible. We decided on three flavors of cupcakes and our guest could not stop raving about them. Fifty/50 the Art of Dessert’s ability to combine flavors, present desserts elegantly and willingness to make the big day as smooth as possible allowed us to have full confidence in their work.

50/Fifty was amazing for our dessert table! We had a 3 tiered cake with different flavors, as well as french macarons and raspberry fruit tarts! Every bite was absolutely delicious! The macarons had a delicate gold brushing across them to make them look even more beautiful and the cake looked exactly how we wanted!

50/fifty was such a delight to work with! We weren’t able to come in for a tasting since we were planning our wedding from across the country. They helped us with matching fillings and cake flavors and people raved about the cake. I’ve usually seen a lot of leftover cake at other wedding brunches I’ve been to, but our guests ate almost all of our cake! It was lovely! I would highly recommend this baker to anyone!

We highly recommend 50/Fifty for your wedding desserts! Our dessert table at our wedding was a complete hit! We had a variety of cupcakes, tarts, tiramisu cups as well as a 3 tiered cake that was added a few months before the wedding! Mandy had no problem accommodating us, she was always attentive to our emails. She has an knack for the little details, which explains her why her presentation is incredible. The champagne cake with berry compote was my absolute favorite!

We are not big "cake people", so we knew we wanted a variety of mini desserts for our wedding. 50/Fifty has an extensive menu to choose from, and it was so hard to narrow down our choices. After our tasting with Mandy, we decided on an assortment of mini cupcakes, tarts, cheesecakes, brownies, and rice crispy treats, as well as a small tiered cake that we could use for our cake cutting. Everything was incredible!! Mandy also takes care of the presentation of everything so you don't have to worry about a darn thing on the day of! Mandy is a master of her craft, an ease to work with, and really just one of the nicest people ever. If you're looking for sweets for any kind of event in the Asheville area, and you've managed to find this review, don't look any further! Mandy is your girl!

Mandy did such an amazing job with our cake and desserts! We didn't freeze the top tier because we couldn't stand not to eat it right away. The price was reasonable as well.

We were in love with Mandys cakes from the first time we tried them at the cake tasting. She managed to help us come up with four unique mini cupcake flavors. A guest favorite was the brownie cupcake with peanut butter mousse – it was delicious! Mandy did a fabulous job at presenting the cake and cupcakes, and she even incorporated our rustic wedding feel into the display. She used our succulents to decorate the cake and displayed the cupcakes on various beautiful platters. Mandy was sweet and easy to communicate with through email and phone if needed. I would recommend 50/Fifty to anyone in need of a wonderful baker!

Besides Mandy's cakes being DIVINE in flavor, her presentation is also impeccable. We enjoyed our wedding cake, and our guests enjoyed all three flavors of cupcakes she produced for our reception. She was definitely a crowd favorite!

We found 50/Fifty desserts when we didn't hear from Ruth and Ranshaw about the tasting appointment we had booked. All I wanted was to confirm a time and despite 2 weeks of phone calls and emails, they never got back to me. MANDY TO THE RESCUE!! She emailed me withing HOURS (and around 10pm!) of my last minute attempt to get a tasting appointment while my parents would be in town. Mandy was so accommodating and easy to work - and super fast to return an email! The fact that the desserts are DELICIOUS was just icing on the cake (pun intended). We ended up doing a dessert bar with the following items: Mini Cupcakes: Lemon Cake with Raspberry Buttercream, Chocolate Cake with Caramel Buttercream, Red Velvet Cake with Cream Cheese Icing Mini Tarts: Apple Streusel, Fresh Fruit, and Peanut Butter & Chocolate White Chocolate Truffles: airbrushed blue and white (our wedding colors), Eclairs, Tiramisu Cups What I was able to get to (unfortunately all the peanut butter chocolate tarts were gone when I made it to the dessert table) was absolutely delicious and the table was fantastic to look at! Mandy and her husband provided all the stands and trays to make the table look classy and even put little name cards to let guests know what everything was. I will be using 50/Fifty for all of my dessert needs in the future! Thanks Mandy!

Mandy is amazing! We had a three tiered buttercream cake with different flavors on each level, it was delicious and beautiful. She also made mini pies as guests favors that everyone loved! We had a destination wedding and forgot our anniversary cake in the fridge of the venue. She went to the venue to pick it up and mailed it to us. They have gone above and beyond and I would recommend them one thousand times!

Mandy did an excellent job with our desserts! We had a two tier wedding cake, as well as 600 mini desserts for our 150 guests! She sent us the menu and everything beforehand to ensure that we had time to choose, and then she had everything we wanted to try ready for our (complimentary) tasting! She executed incredibly well on everything we asked for, and we heard the desserts were incredible!! The display was also BEAUTIFUL - I couldn't have imagined a prettier layout. She worked with my coordinator leading up to the day, so I can't really talk to much to that experience, but overall I enjoyed Mandy and would book with her again!

My husband and I worked with Mandy and chose the chocolate stout cake with cream cheese icing for our naked cake that served 80 people. We also got 2 dozen cupcake that were coconut with buttercream icing and spice cake with cream cheese icing. The cake was absolutely beautiful, and not to mention crazy delicious. I had some cupcakes the day after the wedding and they were equally amazing. Our guests loved everything! Mandy was super easy to work with on top of it all, we highly recommend 50/fifty!
