Yes, they are talented, but the Band Leader is volatile, unresponsive, and rude. He was responsible for a very disappointing experience for our Wedding. Despite their talent it is not worth risking having them ruin your wedding like they ruined ours. Here are just a few examples of the mistakes they made that night.
1. Our reception was delayed from starting for 15 minutes because the Band was not on stage playing at 6:30 as they were contracted to do. Our wedding planner had to search for them, only to find them sitting in the break room. 2. They did not play the correct recordings of the songs that were sent to them despite sending them 3 different times in the specific formats they requested. 3. Their communication with us or the Wedding planner throughout the months leading up to our Wedding was poor. Ultimately, we had to get the booking company that represented them to get the band leader to have a call with us a few days before the wedding. He did call in, but he was not engaged. This was as evidenced by the fact that multiple times throughout the call we had to ask him if he was still there and ask him to respond to the questions he was asked. 4. They played the wrong song for the first dance of the Bride & Groom. Once our wedding planner sorted it out with them and they found the correct song for the Bride and Groom's first dance they stopped it half way through the song creating a very awkward moment. 5. They did not announce the wedding party correctly. They skipped some members of the wedding party entirely and played the wrong songs as they entered. 6. Despite being sent an abridged version of the Father/Daughter dance song 3x they played another version that was significantly longer than the one the Father and Bride had practiced too. 7. They played songs we specifically asked them not to play and did not play songs we asked them to play from their song list they gave us. I'm not sure if they did these things on purpose or if they are just incompetent. The night was filled with the band making mistakes and being difficult. There were other issues that are even more serious. I will not mention them here as we are still considering taking legal action. East Coast entertainment was the booking company, and they were fantastic. I highly recommend them. They were responsive, professional, and apologetic for the band and specifically the Band leader's behavior. East Coast has since terminated their relationship with 76 Degrees West due to their unacceptable behavior. We had heard this band before and as has been stated they are talented, but it is not worth risking being treated this way or ruining what is supposed to be one of the most special night of your life. If this helps one family avoid our horrific experience with this group, then it is worth the time it took to share it.
THEY WERE INCREDIBLE!!!! WE LOVED THEM!!! Every single guest talked about how amazing they were and that they were the best wedding band they had ever heard!! We were so so thrilled!! Seriously, the music was truly OUT OF THIS WORLD!!
