book us until mid September, so we had only two months for the planning and preparation process, but they got us all the information we needed right away so that we were able to determine what THEIR vision was for a perfect wedding celebration. They were at the T. Austin Finch House in Thomasville and we work there often and have a great relationship with the staff, so that helped a lot. Their vision was a unique blend of pop and Latin dance music so that all of their guests would hear something that they would enjoy dancing to, and we are so happy to hear that we were able to achieve their goals. We love working with all of our couples, but their positive attitude and happiness was really contagious. When I stop to check with a couple and the bride greats me with a hug and a smile, I know we had a great night. We wish them every happiness in their future lives together. :)

Village are always a delight to team with as was their director (Events by Vivian). The couple did a terrific job of filling out our planning materials so that we had a really goo picture of what their vision of a terrific wedding day looked like and hopefully we were able to create that for them. Marcus, April and I really loved what they did for their guests and wish them every happiness in their future lives together. :)

s expectations. We want every couple to have the wedding day of their dreams and always make every effort to achieve that. Having said that, I'm not totally sure where to start. First, I've checked and every single song she requested for a specific dance or activity was played and we even custom edited a couple to make certain that the parts of the songs she wanted played first. Our performer wasn't just pulling these out of thin air. A week prior to the event we located and prepared every song and burned it to make sure our performer had them at his finger tips, and she even has them on the complimentary CD we gave to her as a gift. There was no static from the speakers, although she might have heard a bit of wind noise. When an officiant stands too far away from the mic and it's sensitivity is turned up, that can happen and is hard to avoid at an outdoor event. As for the "vibe" at the reception, most of the songs that we played were either from her request list or requests made by the guests. Of course, if she was looking for a wild party atmosphere, an outdoor event on a Sunday isn't necessarily the most conducive to that. The cocktail hour was certainly not skipped over. The DJ played the music styles that she had requested for that and only sent people to the taco food truck she had arranged for when the person acting as her director (a friend, not a professional) told the performer to make that announcement. I guess what baffles me the most is that our performer spoke to her during the event to ask if everything was going OK and she said yes. I personally stopped by not long after the dance floor had opened to check on things and asked her if he was taking good care of her or if we needed to change anything, and she said everything was fine. With a simple word at that point we could have changed up anything that she was dissatisfied with and would have. At the end of the event both her father and the groom approached our performer, thanked him and told him that they loved the music and that he had done a fantastic job. I guess the contradictions just confuse me a bit. But Chassity was great to work with during the planning of the event and we would be happy to discuss this further if she would like to give us some details that we can check on. We wish both of them every happiness in their future lives together and hope that they are still able to look back on the day as the beginning of a lifetime of love and happiness.

awesome couple to work with and Craig said that their guests were so much fun. When I stopped by, I had to wait through about two songs for Megan to come off of the dance floor so that I could say hi. Of course, success doesn't happen in a vacuum. We definitely want the thank the folks at Childress Vineyards for all of their help. Such a terrific venue. We wish Megan & Will the very best in the future lives together. 🙂

We hate to pester couples when they have so many other things on their plates, but the email we send out with the planning materials tells them that we will be reaching out to them one to two weeks prior to the event to make sure there are no changes and that if they need assistance before then to feel free to call us at any time. We outline the entire process so that couples know exactly what to expect and when they will hear from us, but always let them know to reach out if they need help before any scheduled calls. We received their planning materials almost a month prior and all of the basic information we needed was already provided in those. When we hadn't heard anything from them before the time for our scheduled contact to check for any changes, we assumed all was well. The week before the event there were a couple of minor details we had to ask them about, but those were only because there we some gaps of information in the time line provided by their professional wedding planner about where certain activities were taking place. Below are a part of the instructions that go out with the email when the couple first books us. We sincerely hope that none of this in any way detracted from their enjoyment of their big day and we wish them both a lifetime of love and happiness in their future lives together. Before we jump into the planning process I’d like to put some important dates on your calendar. This will help us stay on track to and complete everything in plenty of time so that we can properly prepare for your event.  Today: Reply to this email just so that we know if got to you and you’re all set to begin the process.  Eight weeks prior to your event: If you’ve been working on it all along, open up your planner to see what things are still pending decisions so that you can begin wrapping it up.  Four weeks prior to your event: Email your planning materials to us even if there might be a few things left incomplete so that we can begin our preparations.  About 2 weeks prior to your event: Find an evening that is convenient for us to call you to go over your planning materials and tie up any loose ends.

s special and there is always a little extra pressure to not only make it a perfect day for the couple, but also to help the guests have a fun and memorable occasion to ring in the new year. Their guests were so much fun and so easy to work with that they made it truly easy for me. And of course, a successful event is always a team effort. So I have to thank Andrew at T. Austin Finch House for always making us feel welcome and Lacy Gabrielle Photography who captured all those special memories for them. They were a beautiful couple and we wish them every happiness in their future lives together.

y had a phone conversation about the items mentioned. A couple of mistakes were made, but there were also some things that were beyond our control. 1) For their recessional our office staff did forgot to mention to our performer that we had a specially edited version of the song to be used, so he played the original; totally our mistake. 2) As far as the sound in the venue, they selected a venue with concrete flooring and a metal roof. Aside from a bit of echo which can't be prevented with those acoustics, there was a deluge of rain and with it pounding on the metal roof the noise was deafening and nerve racking for the guests I’m sure, and she was correct that although we had the volume up as much as possible, the guests we likely unable to tell where the song started. However, that was beyond our control and we tried to overcome it as best we could. 3) He did announce last call. However, the written time line from the director indicated that the bar was closing at 8:00 PM. He was never informed that they had extended the bar until 10:00, but it simply that meant some people rushed to get drinks before they needed to. 4) I'm sure it was difficult to tell with the rain noise, but the only version of Mr. Brightside he had was the original radio edit, so I'm not sure what they thought they heard there. 5) Our DJ did say that he played 3 line dances back to back, which is normally against our policy, but he said that he was responding to insistent requests from guests. 6) As far as his general "mix of music,” both he and Grace said that the dance floor was packed most of the night. That is the best sign a DJ has that their mix is working. Prior to the event we did tell Grace, as we do all of our couples, that during the evening if they wanted things changed up, not to hesitate to let our staff know. Not getting any feedback from them and the fact that the guests were packing the dance floor, he naturally assumed he was on cue. 7) The performer does use digital format for most of his music. He does, however, have several books of CDs for older less popular songs to make sure he can accommodate even the most obscure requests without having to rely on WiFi. They also serve as backup in case of a computer freeze. 8) The printer at our photo booth did malfunction and the back-up they had with them wouldn't work either, but the photo booth remained operational and although a little late, they did receive all of their photos, digital files and their memory book as well, so nothing will be left out. While some of these factors mitigate the cause for any issues, it in no way erases the fact that the evening was not perfect for Grace and Brandon, and that is always our goal. I told her when we spoke that I sincerely apologized for anything we might have done to contribute to that. She did say that they had a fantastic time and that these hiccups didn’t diminish their overall enjoyment of the evening and I found that to be a huge relief. We always strive to make certain that for every couple, their wedding day is the best day of their lives and we wish Grace and Brandon every happiness in their future lives together.

as actually there to run our photo booth, the couple did not have a professional director and with over 25 years as a wedding consultant herself, she couldn't just stand by when she saw some things that needed attention. Our goal is always to do whatever we can to make a couple's celebration a huge success whether is directly related to our function that night or not. I hope Brie and Jacob will keep in touch and wish them the very best in the years ahead. ::

e planning and with her background as a ballet dancer we had little doubt that the two of them would be on the dance floor, and they were. That, of course, made it even easier to have the guests join in the celebration. They had told us that they wanted their event to be FUN, and it definitely was. And Emily, Sanja and the whole staff at Starmount Forest Country Club always make our visit there a real pleasure. :)

ir celebration instead of just the entertainment. We are so grateful for their nice comments, but of course, a great event takes a great team and they had a terrific one. Becki and the folks at Adaumont Farm are always terrific to work with and we relied a lot on Alison from The Perfect Bride's Maid Events. It was great working with her again. Above and Beyond Catering provided terrific service as always and we can't wait to see all the photos from Sarah Sekaly and the video from Point 200. When you to a great team of professionals together, everyone's job gets so much easier. Of course, Meredith and Dakota made everyone feel so welcome. All of us here at A & A wish them every happiness in the years ahead and look forward to celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary with them. :)

erceptions in the midst of a hectic event can be deceiving. I assured her that only the piece of music that was played for their entrance was the one that they requested. However. minutes before that, while they were out of the room, another short clip like a fanfare was played to get the attention of the guests as the MC welcomed them to make certain that they were focused and paying attention when we announced the couple into the room just a moment later. We also addressed her song requests submitted in advance. I assured her that if we had instructions to play any of them at specific times we certainly could have, but without instructions our DJs are trying to mix them in where we can get the best results from them and to maintain the energy on the dance floor. The readout from our computer showed that almost all of them were played within the first hour of the dance floor being open. I was so glad that I had the opportunity to talk to her personally to explain and apologize for any misunderstandings and mostly to make certain that none of this detracted from their enjoyment of their day. There are so many things going on in the background at events and the couple's attention is being pulled in a thousand different directions and we just wanted to make certain they knew that we were doing our very best to accommodate all of their wishes. Michael said that they were a great group to work with and so much fun. All of us here at A & A wish them the very best in the years ahead and a lifetime of love and happiness. ;)

They were both concerned when were first met that the DJ would also be their master of ceremonies and be able to manage the flow of events, which is something all of our certified MCs have been trained to do, so we felt we were a good fit for their needs. The most important thing to them, they told me, was to remember having a great time celebrating with their guests. I hope we were able to help them achieve that and that their future lives are filled with memories as joyful as the ones they created that day. Best wishes always. :)
