This Business has HORRIBLE customer service!!!! I contacted Chuck over a week ago he told me he would email me, Never got a email or phone call. I called 5 times all they kept saying was we’re busy when I get back to the office, find time etc.. well a simple message saying your business is important to us please give us a minute would’ve been appreciated! Yet I got hung up on and cursed out! I talked to the enue I’m using and they’ve said there been getting complaints and they don’t even return their phone calls. Chucks attitude is beyond disgusting! And I will be writing the better business bureau too
One of the biggest decisions on the success of planning a wedding , is which caterer to use. Chuck and Catered Afffair made all aspects of this a huge hit. From the beginning , with planning a menu and the guidance on what apps and entrees to get, handling the table clothes and loaning us platters and tiered stands for our enourmous Cookie Table was effortless. We had the Italian Buffet , which other places could be meh but the extras - yummy pesto, chicken, alfredo, garlic and cooked onions and piles of bacon were bonuses and made it next level for our guests. Lots of compliments on the taste of everything. Chuck and John were super easy to work with and communicated almost instantly. Now if only he would open a restaurant.....
Chuck and A Catered Affair were excellent. Chuck worked with us through the whole process and he made sure every detail was perfect. On the day of the wedding I didn’t worry about a thing when it came to the catering. Chuck and his staff took care of it all. From set up to clean up. If I could give them more than 5 stars I would!
Chuck did great working with me on the menu.
Food came in when expected, didn't run out and had a small complaint on the roasted potatoes for the dinner service.
Overall Extremely happy with the results.
The food was incredible!!! All our guests complimented on how yummy it was! The staff is responsive and hastle free!
The owners were so helpful with our multiple date and venue changes for our wedding! They were great to work with. The guests raved about how delicious the food was. I would recommend a catered affair!
This company was absolutely amazing ! John and chuck were very friendly and the menu was so easy to make a choice on what to eat ! The serving staff was so friendly and constantly cleaning up the tables ! Also chuck knew I liked the appetizers we had and the attendant brought them over to me ( bride) right when we sat down at our table! Amazing food quality for an awesome price !
A catered affair was amazing for our wedding day! Chuck was so nice and responded quickly to emails. He was even willing to work with us on our appetizer budget! Also John was so helpful with which alcohol to get for the bar and how much to spend. Everyone loved the food. They arrived early to get the food set up! It’s so nice that they offer food and bartending service! Definitely recommend!
A catered affair was absolutely amazing! I am so thankful for them with us having to make a last minute change two weeks prior to the wedding!! Chuck was so helpful and responded back within hours normally to answer any questions!! The food was amazing which I’m so thankful for since I never was able to try it before hand since we change caterers last minute. The Mac and cheese was to die for!! They helped make my dinner go so smoothly! 100% would book again.
These folks are who you want to cater for your event. We were forced to reschedule due to COVID and finding A Catered Affair was a blessing. Chuck was great to work with and the food was amazing. His staff was on point and their was no need to worry. We will use them for any future cater events we need.
We selected A Catered Affair as it was a preferred vendor for the Centennial Barn. They offered a wedding menu with a lot of variety for a very reasonable price. However, the service we got, was a little inconsistent to what we were promised. We tried the food before we selected our menu and it was super delicious so I was really excited, however, at the actual reception a few of the foods I was most looking forward to were cooked inconsistently, which was pretty disappointing. Also, we were supposed to have 4 attendants, but it did seemed like they were short staffed. We were also told that 2 of the 4 attendant would stay until he end of the evening to take out the trash. They did take out the trash after dinner, but left shortly after so my family and some guest that stayed to help clean up ended up taking out the trash at the very end of the night. I do have to say the attendants that were there were very nice and were hustling to make sure everything was ready on time. Overall, I don’t regret selecting A Catered Affair for our wedding day because it was good food (which few exceptions) and selection at a good price. I would recommend that brides inquire about A Catered Affair to catering their wedding.
Chuck was an absolute pleasure to work with and the food was great!
The food was out of this world, we did a taco bar for our October wedding. The guests were blown away and are still raving over how great the food was!
They arrived on time, seamless setup and tear down. Had many compliments on food quantity and and taste. I would highly recommend using them for any type of event!
Thankful for the budget friendly italian option. They ran out of plates during the reception...although we were about 7 people under my final count I gave them a few weeks before the wedding. They quickly brought more plates as soon as the realized they ran out. My guests complained of dry chicken, but everything else was otherwise good. Thank you for your service.
Below is a conversation we had with A Catered Affair after we were dissatisfied with their services at our wedding.
Chuck,
There was no confusion with the check. After the services at our event I stopped payment on the check. I was very dissatisfied with the service that was offered by your company. We ran out of salad and mashed potatoes. When I asked one of your servers to send John to speak with me about this problem, she instead disregarded what I asked and allowed me to stand-by waiting for him. This was completely unacceptable.
If that was not bad enough, to run out of food when not everyone that we expected showed up. We also had issues with your staff leaving the event early. We paid for servers to fill water glasses and to have a bartender on-site. Instead no bartender arrived and they just put a server at the bar. They had to be told to fill water glasses about half of the way through our dinner. I do not know what the purpose of having 10 servers on site was to stand around. Additionally, I do not believe there were even 10 servers that attended our event since only 2 vehicles arrived, one which only had 4 servers in it.
We were promised over a year ago when we booked that you would be on site with your crew. You were no where to be found. We were told you would be on-site until everything was ready to be picked up. Instead there were cake plates being taken back and your staff packing up before we even finished serving cake. My mom had to go inside our house and get plates to finish serving cake. The services at our event was completely unacceptable.
This does not even begin to cover the problems we had on the day of our wedding. Also, we were away on our honeymoon and that is why you could not reach us.
I clearly have found that you do not know how to run your company, as no one would pay out of a check that had not been cashed. I also do not appreciate a nasty email about a gratuity check, which was not earned, nor was it required by the contract. Nor is it appropriate to reach out to my parents, at their place of employment, as my husband and I are adults and we were the one's paying for your service.

Kayla Ellis

Hello Kayla, The check that you gave for gratuity has come back as not being paid. Are you able to contact me please about this. I have emailed once already, and I have called twice now, but can not leave you a message. If I do not hear from you in the next 24 hours or so, I guess I will reach out to your parents to see if they can contact you. Thank you.
Sincerely,
Chuck Webster

Hired Catered Affair for my wedding and honestly put a damper on the day and caused unnecessary stress. Can't express the disappointment in the business. Apparently pride themselves on never running out of food or anything and yet they had to send my dad out (THE FATHER OF THE BRIDE ON HIS DAUGHTER'S WEDDING DAY) to get chips and other food because they ran out so fast. They claimed people ate too much and we allowed the DJ and others to eat...? Yet while planning my Dad mentioned rounding up for the food because he didn't want to underestimate and apparently the two owners told him that would not be a concern as they never run out of food. My dad ended up missing my first dance with my husband AND almost missed the father daughter dance because he was out buying more food. Probably would have laughed it off, IF they hadn't ran out of the only drinks they needed to provide and hadn't called my dad THREE times to turn around while out getting things because they kept needing more things. The servers were pretty nice, however they seemed like it was no big deal that they were so unprepared for a pretty big day for someone. The owners offered to make it right by attempting to give a little bit back as a refund, but never followed through. Would not recommend this business to anyone.
*Also after posting this review on FB, The Owner messaged me threatening to sue me for a public review
These guys are the preferred caterer for The Centennial Barn, they're on site and had so many wonderful options at reasonable prices. Absolutely delicious! My favorite was the salad with the soft goat cheese!
We chose this vendor after our first meeting. They accommodated our tasting request with only 2 days notice. We were thrilled with the menu selection as well as the incredibly affordable pricing. They also offered us an additional discount for making a larger downpayment when booking, which was a nice savings for us up front. One of the main reasons we selected this vendor was their willingness to be so flexible due to one of the people in our bridal party that has severe food allergies. When we considered booking, they assured us that they would be able to accommodate her special dietary needs, but when we went to provide our final head-count and menu, they indicated they couldn't accommodate her needs after all. They were just too severe for them to handle. This was unfortunate and we weren't happy about it, but everything else had gone so well, we opted to select a few alternative options for her. We went back to John and asked if we could get her a separate meal, with just a plain chicken breast, plain baked potato, and a fruit up for dessert. John indicated that they would be able to accommodate that. We followed up on separate occasions prior to the wedding date and they indicated each time that they had the special meal noted and that it would be there with no issue When the dinner portion of the evening began, our bridesmaid asked them for her special meal. The main caterer had no idea what she was talking about. He immediately came over to me to confirm and we indicated we had been told it would be provided with no problem. He called the main office and they told him that they had failed to provide the meal. I was incredibly unhappy when I heard this. He did go the extra mile though to find out there were several things on our buffet that she could eat without issue. So, while she was still able to have a meal (with no dessert because the fruit wasn't provided), it wasn't the meal they had promised times prior. Other than that, the food was delicious. We received rave reviews all night long about how good the food was. Many people went back for more than serving. I was thrilled with their prices and the quality of the food, but the special meal not being provided was a definite issue for me. It didn't ruin the evening and I would still recommend their services. The food really was exceptional and their prices are excellent!! I would just say that if you had a special need for a meal, you may want to provide that yourself instead of relying on the vendor.
wonderful service. they created a menu we liked & did a meal for taste testing. worked with us to make it affordable for our budget but the best was day of event. They arrived early & were all ready to go. everything was in place & served perfectly plus we had a bartender help with bar service. Very polite & efficient staff. could not have been more pleased with the process from beginning to end. will use again without hesitation
John at A catered Affair was flawless with being reliable and returning every singe email and call I sent out. The delivery and set up was amazing and the food was delicious. We got compliments all night about how good our food was! Thank you!
Chuck and his team catered our rehearsal dinner and wedding at Richwood on the River and they were fantastic. They were easy to work with and really listened to what we wanted. The food was excellent and we received many compliments on it .... the best complement was the number of people getting seconds and even thirds! The staff was also very kind and so helpful. Thank you A Catered Affair!
This amazing company did my very formal wedding, and went so above and beyond. Stunning presentation, creative choices. My mashed potato bar was the best. Love these guys!
This is the worse catering company ever!!!! The customer service is the worse & they are unprofessional! Please don't waste your money
My special thanks to Chuck and the entire Catered Affair team for the wonderful job did catering our wedding. The food was delicious and we were delighted with the presentation and especially appreciated their suggested menu. The extra time and effort he put in were certainly worthwhile. It was a joy for me to work with such dedicated and talented caterers. Thank you so much for all your hard work. Just writing this makes me hanker for their cooking.
Chuck and his staff did a terrific job at our reception. We had a lovely cocktail hour followed by a full buffet. All of our guests commented on how wonderful the food was. Chuck and his staff were so helpful and their smiles and upbeat personalities made our reception even more special. They were wonderful
