A Catered Event

We loved having A Catered Event cater our wedding! They did an amazing job. Their focus on all the little details made our wedding day perfect. I highly recommend them for any event.

Bob and his staff were an absolute pleasure to work with throughout the entire planning process! We planned our wedding from a state away and A Catered Event remained incredibly flexible in scheduling meetings around our schedule (as well as answering many of our questions through phone and email). They catered both our food and cake and we received multiple compliments about both of these throughout the night as well as the weeks following the wedding! Beth (our day-of coordinator) and the entire staff was incredibly helpful on the day of the event, helping to set up centerpieces and decorations. We couldn't be more happy about our choice in catering!

Beth was so wonderful to work with. She really helped make my big day special. She helped with the minor and major details that I was trying to fulfill. The food was great. The service was wonderful I couldn't have any complaints. Even when they were so busy the day before the owner personally delivered the table cloths to me at the venue.

We have nothing but great things to say about A Catered Event. They were absolutely amazing to work with. They food was delicious, the staff was so friendly and helpful. They made our venue look exactly how we wanted. They were so helpful with setting up and making sure everything was as we wanted. We used their vintage china, and everyone is still talking about how beautiful it was. We would highly recommend using A Catered Event for your wedding!

I should start by saying we did not end up choosing this vendor. We had to make a change about 4 months out due to our original caterer being bought out. We were forwarded to A Catered Event by our original caterer. A Catered Event promised to have our full menu that we already had lined up. Obviously, we wanted to taste their food first. We were invited to an open house and were promised that all of our 'sides' options would be there. This was not the case. They only had one of our options available. We were not happy with this and contacted them right away. When we asked for a separate tasting, they refused at first. But after pulling an arm and a leg, we got one set up for $100. Even then, we only were able to have 4 of our items there (we have 7 items on our menu). The food was good. But the owner was just awful. He was very rude and uncooperative. It was very apparent that he was only concerned about his money. I didn't seem like he was even listening to what we were saying or trying to meet any of our requests. He was the one to say that he was just going to give us our money back rather than continue. Well, that made our decision easy. Do not go here if you want a relaxed experience for your wedding. This was nothing of the sort. Instead we chose Emelio's, where the owner is welcoming and is willing to make it YOUR day.

We had A Catered Event for our barn reception. We had a wonderful experience from dropping the drinks off to the staff serving them. We ordered appetizers, coffee, bar services, and servers. We also did all the linens and tables through them. Set up and tear down was a breeze. All we had to do was decorate, they put everything away for us at the end of the night! Bob and his staff are a class act and so easy to work with. I recommend them for any event large or small!

Words cannot describe how grateful I am for the service A Catered Event provided. They took care of every detail seamlessly, and made sure I had a perfect wedding day. The entire staff was so kind and fun to work with, my family and bridal party couldn't stop talking about them. The food was absolutely delicious, it looked beautiful, and everything went perfectly. I would highly, HIGHLY recommend using them!

The day of food and service was phenomenal. I was really pleased with how everything turned out. They were very professional and accommodating the day of the wedding and there were no major hiccups. Everything went just as planned. However, leading up to the wedding and after the wedding were basically a disaster. Just to name a few - they forgot we paid our deposit, sent us the wrong proposal, mixed up our payment schedule, forgot to prepare the food when we showed up during our work days to taste food, and mixed up our meeting times on multiple occasions. And then after the wedding - They had offered to freeze our cake for us while we were on our honeymoon but they froze fresh flowers on the cake. Needless to say, the cake had to be tossed since it had dried/dead flowers on it. Each time I called to talk to someone, they completely forgot who I was. Even if I just returned a call the next day, we were back at square one. I never felt like anyone had a handle on what was going on. I will say I'm very happy with how the day turned out but I don't think the stress of dealing with them was worth it for me.

A Catered Event was one of the best vendors we worked with on our wedding day! A Catered Event is truly a full service caterer and I can't recommend them highly enough! They treated our guests like family and their service is second to none. Their experience and knowledge of weddings were essential to helping us plan the layout and flow for both our ceremony and reception. They delivered and set-up the chairs for our outdoor ceremony well in advance, and even provided the reception linens and some decor that helped us create the special look we were going for. They did an incredible job setting up the reception space - it looked exactly like what we had envisioned! The fruit display at our appetizer hour was such a hit and enjoyed by all! The food was delicious and we loved that they had plenty of options for our vegetarian guests as well. Our guests loved the food and the experience working with them. We can't thank A Catered Event enough for all of their assistance on our big day . With their help - it was truly a day to remember!

My Fiance and I hired A Catered Event for our wedding and they were fantastic! We brought in outside food, in addition to their catering,. The company worked with us to accommodate our needs. Their service was fantastic and their food was great as well! Many of our guest raved about the food at our wedding. 10/10 would use A Catered Event again!

They ran out of side dishes at my daughter's wedding! Only meat was left. This affected more than 20 people. After a while, some people were given mac and cheese (which wasn't on our menu), but not everyone got this. Fewer people were at the wedding than had RSVPd, so there shouldn't have been an issue. We had also ordered 3 vegetarian meals. We were told they would prepare them. At the wedding, they said that the vegetarians could just eat off of the buffet. That would have been great if there were enough side dishes!! One man who worked for them was rude to our guests. He told a vegetarian guest that in Columbus, fish is vegetarian. This is totally unacceptable!

I had A Catered Event tend bar at my wedding September 5, 2015. Although I think they were nice people, I was not impressed with their ability to pour the correct drinks. I made it clear before hand, when I dropped the drinks off, which drink was which. It was very simple. There were only two pre-mixed cocktail drinks. All they had to do was pour them in glasses At the wedding, regardless of what people ordered, they mixed the two drinks together. It was incredibly frustrating and tasted terrible. I ordered three drinks before I realized what they were doing and why it tasted so bad. I immediately corrected them and told them all they had to do was pour it in a glass. NO MIXING. I got one correct drink and then when I went back later they were mixing them together again. I took a lot of time to pick the right drinks and the right combinations and carefully mixed them to taste exactly how I wanted them to. We spent a lot of money on that alcohol and I feel like it was a waste. Also, one of the bartenders told me that she was serving the "lemonade" to people as just plain lemonade. Not knowing it had alcohol in it. I certainly hope she didn't serve it to a child or someone who can't have alcohol. I feel like I made it extremely clear and simple for them. All they had to do was pour drinks and they couldn't seem to figure it out. When I contacted the company about it, I got no apology. Just a "Thanks for your feedback".

I recently was married on 5/8/15 and hired A Catered Event. They did an amazing job, every detail was perfect! Mary Jane and Bob was a pleasure to work with through the entire process and actually made it fun (which I was dreading). My mother in law was impressed with the fact that we hardly noticed they were there but dinner flowed nicely and tables were always cleared. Bob and Mary Jane Himes and their staff were easy and great to work with planning and executing such a major event. They were willing to do extra things in decorating the reception venue, which was so nice of them. The food was delicious too. I especially liked the lemon pepper chicken and red skinned potatoes.

A Catered Event did a fantastic job catering our wedding. They were extremely accommodating and helpful during the planning stages, even going so far as to meet us on a Sunday at our venue to talk about the seating chart and other details. The food was amazing and the service was spectacular. The majority of the compliments we got after the reception were regarding the food they prepared for our friends and family. Thank you again for helping to make our Big Day great!

We used a catered event as our alcohol caterer. We provided the alcohol and they bartended. I had a difficult time working with them prior to the wedding. The first woman I spoke to told us we only needed 1 bartender for 150 people. I paid a deposit based on that. Then I tried emailing her a couple months later and no response. Finally I emailed the company and they said she no longer worked there and they could not access her email. Then I was told I needed 2 bartenders bc I was going to have liquor at the wedding and was sent a new invoice. Basically there was a lot of miscommunication prior to the wedding. I eventually passed this job off to my husband because I was so frustrated. He seemed to have an ok experience with them and the bar tenders were wonderful at the wedding.

My daughters wedding was a very unique event. Since it was a nostalgia rock and roll wedding-we wanted food that everyone knew and enjoyed. We chose burgers, dogs, macaroni & cheese,salad, baked fries. Our venue was a logistical nightmare, but they worked it all out and just burgers and dogs ended up being perfect and really tasty. I heard many comments on how good everything was. I also heard many comments on how fantastic and attentive the catering staff was. They even made our milkshake station happen-hand making milkshakes for everyone in a timely manner. This wasn't your typical wedding reception-and they worked out all my unique requests. Pretty much every person said it was the "Best Wedding Ever", and I feel "A Catered Event" was a part of why it was.

Our Wedding was April 5th 2014 and we used A Catered Event. They did our food, drinks, waiting staff, etc. They did such a wonderful job! I would recommend this place to anyone who is getting married. They take away so much worry of what your guests will be eating and how they will be taken care of. And the decor was amazing, we told them our colors and everything else was taken care of, the place was gorgeous!!! As a bride my breath was taken away with what the place looked like, they really eased my mind about multiple things and brides all need that lol.

I initially chose A Catered Event because they were willing to work with me a bit on the price. I wanted to invite as many guests as possible without worrying about price. They made it possible. There is no other caterer in the city that will give you this quality for less than $25 a plate. First of all, they helped create the perfect meal that my husband and I loved! We had a taco bar, almost like Chipotle, with brisket and southwest chicken with chorizo. My guests kept telling me it was the best food they had at a wedding! Not only were the caterers professional and polite, but they seemed to provide services that would almost rival that of a wedding planner. They helped me rent a tent and worked with my facility (North Bank Park Pavilion) to ensure everything was set up properly. Beforehand, we toured the facility and created a floorplan for the big day together. They also helped get everything set up on the day of---when it RAINED unexpectedly and we had to move everything inside. They also helped me rent a heater last minute. I will recommend this caterer to everyone I know. They made the wedding a million times less stressful and I appreciate everything they did for me! They also let you buy your own alcohol, which helped save a lot of money! I cannot thank them enough!

Bob and Mary Jane were amazing! They were easy to work with and very attentive! On the day of the wedding, they were both there working our wedding and making sure everything went smoothly. The food was delicious and exceeded our expectations! A lot of our guests commented that it was the best wedding food they've ever had! The staff was very friendly and helpful! They made sure I (bride) and my groom were taken care of at all times. I highly recommend A Catered Event for any of your catering needs!

I had a great experience with A Catered Event overall and would recommend them for anyone desiring a caring service staff. The only downside is that I wish the catered food was not packed up so soon (packed up at least an hour before the reception ended), as my husband and I were a very hungry and had not eaten all day. We had plenty of food for everyone to have seconds, but even if people desired to get seconds they could not beacuse the food was already packed up.

Loved Mary Jane and Susan and Bob! Only complaint: the bartender did not tap the kegs first, as instructed SEVERAL times. We wasted money on an untapped keg that would have been gone had he waited to serve bottled beers. Other than that, everything was perfect. All were very helpful.

A Catered Event is an superbly managed company that became my "one-stop shop" for my catering and coordinating needs. I desired a company that could deliver delicious food, coordinate/arrange/set-up equipment rentals to include chairs, tents, tables, linens, china and do it all in a cost-effective manner. A Catered Event exceeded my expectations and the communication with Mary Jane Himes and Susan Conrad was amazing. The amount and quality of the communication offered, especially when a majority of the decisions happened via e-mail, was above average. Many people say something always goes wrong the day of the wedding, but with the caterer I selected, I had nothing go wrong. A sincere thank you!

everything was great!

This caterer was lovely and made my reception look beautiful. My husband and I had our own personal servers for dinner and they walked around and assisted the guests as well. The food was delicious, the chicken parmesan was amazing but the roast beef was a little fatty. We got red scalloped potatoes which were also delicious and I don't even like potatoes! They took care of so much for me,I just had to show up. Thankfully though my grandparents paid for it because our price was over 4 grand. But it was excellent service and I would recommend them to anyone having a wedding in Columbus, Ohio.

We had brunch and it was wonderful! The food was great. The office staff was wonderful to work with.

I was thrilled by this company initially. Unfortunately we had to cancel our event 6 weeks before the wedding. I feel like they are dodging my emails and it's been 7 weeks since I canceled and I have not seen a single penny of my refund yet. So I guess the company could be great so long as you don't have to cancel. Also, their ad on theknot claims they can do a party as small as 10, but once you're in the room with the contract it states a minimum of 100, just FYI. I sure am hoping we can avoid going the legal route to reclaim the money their contract states I am owed.

Nothing less than phenominal. Guest are still talking about how delicious the food was and how professional the staff were. I love Italian food so the caterer created an Italian menu for my reception. All of their food is also all fresh and organic!!! I was extremely impressed!!
