A Fair Barn

From the Mother of the Bride: The staff were excellent to work with. They went above and beyond to make sure that my daughters wedding was special and unique to her taste and style. Everything was gorgeous and went off exactly as planned. The food was excellent and received many compliments. We had the pulled pork, green beans, hashbrown casserole and macaroni and cheese and spinach salad(which is my favorite). We also had stuffed mushrooms cocktail wennies and a ton of other stuff for appetizers which were delicious. The Brides Room was awesome as we had our hairdressers and makeup crew come to us that morning and we did not have to rush anywhere. It also had a comfy bed for anyone who just needed a quick nap. In the Grooms room had a comfy couch and was set up for the guys to just hang out. They also had golf carts which were a huge success for us to use to haul the wedding party around for pictures so they did not have to walk in grass and get their heels stuck. Also could use for guests who couldnt walk far distances. We had a lot of family traveling in from all over and the venue is only about a 1.5 miles from Holiday Inn Express which was also excellent. We were worried during covid we might not have a good turnout and I would say we had 85% show which was around 160 guests. They also had purchased patio heaters recently which we rented which was a great idea as it did get pretty chilly this past weekend in central illinois. I can say it is a bit overwhelming when you start to plan the wedding and try to get the details of what is included and what is rented, but the staff were very accomodating to answer any questions we had and put our mind at ease. I could not imagine having to put this wedding together by ourselves. The detail of the decorations were out of this world. I had a son that passed away(brother of bride) a couple years ago and they did a great job in doing a memorial for him. We had used Tommy Dunahoe for our music and sound and he did a great job as well. We used Colton Bushue from Effingham as our videographer who was a huge hit with the guests as he mingled very well and interacted with the guests . (he even was doing line dances while recording which was fun to watch and see the dancing from that view as well.) The photographers were from Breanna Erickson Sumner who did a really great job and I cannot wait to see all of the pictures. We had several rain showers thru the day and they still were able to get all of the shots and photos that we would ever want. I cannot express in words how perfect the wedding was and how easy it was for the Mother of the Bride and the Bride herself. No worries about the decorations or placement, cause if we noticed anything we just talked to the staff and it was taken care of immediately. Kudos the A Fair Barn. Mistie and Al, you have made my daughters dreams come true!!! Of course Nicole you were the best!!! I cannot say how beautiful and perfect everything was and I saw how hard you worked and it did not go unnoticed by any of our family. The memorial dance was perfect as well. If anyone has any questions about booking this venue, dont think about it, just do it, it is completely worth it.

They are wonderful to work with and made our wedding day so special. From the meal, to the decor, to the rehearsal. Everything was spectacular. So thankful that Salem has such a wonderful venue and would recommend them again and again.

I wish I could give A Fair Barn in Salem, IL more than 5 stars! They took my dreams and made them into a reality. They took the stress out of wedding planning, especially during a pandemic! They took care of everything. They did all of the decorations, food, venue setup/takedown, etc. They even had a bridal suite for the bridesmaids and bride to get ready in! It had a cute bedroom in it so the bride and groom could stay the night. They also had a grooms room where the groom and groomsmen could get ready. One of the best things about A Fair Barn is that everything is customizable. They have had several weddings, but every single one looks different. Everything is customized to your wants and your needs. The wedding was absolutely beautiful and completely stress-free. If you are considering checking this venue out, you will not regret it! Bonus: the guests could not stop talking about how good the food was, how well organized everything was, and lastly, how beautiful it was.

Beautiful venue and they really worked hard to get things done at the gazebo before our wedding! They really decorated the place beautifully and it was SO nice not to have to decorate OR clean up!

I wear many hats for weddings. Coordinator, florist, singing, caterer, etc. There's not a whole lot I can't do. I have been privileged to work at many venues throughout Illinois and Missouri. This was my first experience at A Fair Barn. I worked with Misty, Nicole, Jennifer, and on and on. Our wedding was at 4pm. I arrived before 9am. The staff was gracious to a fault. As a "vendor," I have never been offered anything at a venue, until this weekend. I was offered (numerous times), beverages. They brought me out a plate of food for lunch. They sent me home with food since I couldn't take time to eat dinner. They were entirely professional and very accommodating to every request I had. I have personally never been treated this well. I've written a lot and have yet to mention the venue itself. It's a destination worth your travel. It's gorgeous. Fountains, arbors, classy barn motif, beautifully decorated to your personal taste. If you opted to do nothing at all decorations wise, your event would still be beautiful. They have a warehouse full of things to assist you in making your event spectacular and one you'll want to remember and share with your friends. I cannot wait to do my next event with them. I couldn't have asked for a better venue to get married at; an absolutely gorgeous place. They do all the decorating for you and it was exactly what I wanted. They went out of their way to make sure whatever you have in mind for your wedding becomes a reality. Such a great place to work with!!

This is the most beautiful venue I have ever been to and the staff is absolutly amazing! The fact that they do all of the setting up, decorating, and all of the cleaning up makes it worth every penny. I would definitely recommend them to everyone.

I hadn't my wedding here and would recommend it to anyone!! The price is well worth everything you get! Ceremony, reception, catering, and any decorations your heart can imagine!!! Plus she gave us the name of an awesome DJ who literally killed it at or wedding and kept the party hopping!! On my wedding day I couldn't believe how she had turned my vision into a reality! It was gorgeous!! Plus we had a slight hiccup while walking down the aisle and Misty came to the rescue and made everything go smooth! I can't think Mist enough for all of her hard work!!

Great place to have a stress free wedding! Misty and her staff go above and beyond for the bride and groom. Misty and her staff listen to what the couple wants and make it happen! Misty was always answered any of my question in a timely manner either by phone call or text.

As Ryan and I reflect on our wedding day we cannot thank you enough for making our day PERFECT. The food, the decor, the bar, the service, the hospitality were all impeccable. Food, decorating, a house to stay in and a beautiful landscape, what more could you ask for in a wedding!! I was so impressed with the professional meetings. They are so fun and easy to talk to and are happy to combine their ideas with our own. I was cringing when asked how much it was to rent for the wedding and reception. My jaw dropped at the fair and modest price! I cannot wait for my wedding day in my dream venue with my dream guy!
